Friday, friends and I attended the ALL you can eat Seafood buffet night. The offered a large variety of seafood and prime rib, along with soups, salads and desserts. The wait staff was prompt and ensured our empty plates were removed, allowing us the space for our new plates on the table. The price was excellent considering this is an all you can eat buffet.

Nice find while in Kingsport, TN. The MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center Marriott is THE place to stay in the city. The Meadows restaurant is tucked away from the lobby area, but not hard to find. The service and ambiance were both great. On this particular visit I enjoyed the wings and my own version of a caesar salad. The wings were nothing short of amazing. Definitely recommend this restaurant for wings and so much more.

We stayed at the Meadowview Conference Resort Hotel. After hours of driving we both were famished. Luckily, the front desk stated that the restaurant was closed, but food was being served in the bar and lounge area. It was spacious and comfortable. We chose to sit at a half booth table, and within minutes we were greeted by a waitress. Beverages were served in addition to the menu. My mother in law ordered the beef soup, hubs the lobster lollipops with fries, father in law had wings, and I had the bacon burger with blue cheese. Chips and salsa was our starter. It was freezing outside, and the temperature inside was warm and toasty. The chips and salsa was ok. It was just packaged up chips with what tasted like a tub of salsa from Costco. The wings were flavorful, and nicely fried. Beef soup was good, but had minimal beef. Lobster lollipops is a great concept for finger foods. The batter ratio to lobster was unbalanced, so there was more batter. My blue cheese bacon burger was very good. I ordered it medium rare, and it came back well done. It's ok. We were all hungry after hours on the road. Oh and the fries were crispy with some Cajun seasoning. We would come back again due to its convenience being inside the hotel lol. Oh and the hotel is dog friendly!!!

Large on site restaurant at the Meadow View Marriott. Inside dining area with comfy chairs and tables. Outside dining available with views of the golf course. Room service also available for those staying at the hotel. We walked downstairs for breakfast on our first day and were seated at a table and given a menu. Buffet style breakfast offered on weekends only. Jeannette took our orders and brought our coffee and waters. She is a lovely person who speaks with a smile and kindness. The Kindle: fried egg, smoky thick sliced bacon, and pimento cheese on a English muffin. Fruit cup and yogurt parfait. All of this was delicious. Sweet potato hash with two poached eggs. Hubby really loved this dish. We can't wait to come back here for breakfast.

Sorry I ate into this great steak before I took the pic .

This place is soo good I had the ribeye steak with bourbon butter sauce, sautéed broccolini (slightly charred gave it such a great flavor) smashed potatoes. This place is not getting enough credit it's was soo good! I'll definitely be back !!

The walls were paneled by strips of wood whisky barrels, really cool! Screens with Sports, good music (not loud) playing on the speakers. We can't wait to go back and try something else yummy!!!! We went on a Tuesday evening and there was only a handful of patrons at the bar and a few tables. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and attentive. She had us find a seat and was quick to get drinks and appetizer orders. The menu had many interesting items including about 10 different hot dogs and 10-15 different burgers. The food came out quickly and overall was pretty good. We had deviled eggs with pimento cheese and fried banana peppers for an appetizer. Both were large and fed multiple people. The eggs were a little disappointing because they were just hard boiled eggs hollowed out with pimento cheese put in place of the yolk. Would have been more interesting to see how it could have been made with the yolk as well. The banana peppers were tasty with a good balance of sweet and crunchy. I had the burger with spicy goat cheese and the banana peppers. Overall the burger was delicious with many layers of flavor. It's a smash patty type burger with crisp edges and cooked well done. While my preference is a thicker juicy burger, this has lots of flavor to it and the unique combinations gave everyone something to try. My side was pickle fries and these were excellent. Some of the best fried pickles I've had. Overall a delicious meal for a very reasonable price.

We started with their chili cheese fries: they were really good. They bring out a homemade ranch that is also good. I'm a spice fan, and their chili wasn't spicy, but the chili was thick and really good. Beer selection is pretty good; lots of domestic beers and some on draft. The food was very good: their fried banana peppers and fried pickles are fantastic. I had their spicy burger without a bun (sorry, no pic) and loved it. Overall, we really liked our visit.

I have eaten at Cheddar's before but typically not watching what I was eating. They have a vast menu of quality downhome options. As I'm on a health journey, this will focus on their healthier options. The restaurant itself is in a busy part of Kingsport that has many restaurants of different kinds. It was clean and well laid out. There was ample parking and it was easy to get to. The service was good, as the waitress was attentive and checked on me regularly. She brought out the honey buttered croissant and was able to make recommendations. As for the food, there was several healthy options. A couple types of chicken, sirloin steaks, and fish options (salmon and white fish). I chose the Lemon Pepper chicken breast with rice and carrots and green beans as the side. The chicken was very good and flavorful. There were 2 breasts included so it was nice and filling. The rice was just enough to supplement the chicken with a little bit of carbs. The carrots were tender but lacked flavor. The green beans were average. Overall, this location was clean and friendly and had some healthy options to allow health conscious patrons some options. The chicken was very tasty while the carrots and green beans were pretty standard.

(I ordered off the GF menu) when the food was brought out there was a cup of sauce on the plate. I asked what it was. She said it is bourbon glaze. I questioned her on if this was GF bc it was not listed as GF. I was told by her and another man that helped her carry out our food "I think so." I asked that they make sure because to my knowledge nothing with bourbon is GF. She walked back to the kitchen and came back and said, "I just asked the kitchen manager and he said, "It is gluten free." I really didn't trust it bc there was clearly a lack of training. I asked for the ingredient list for the glaze she goes back to the kitchen. While she was in the kitchen I pulled their GF stuff up and it wasn't there. Within the menu online it clearly stated "gluten sensitive served without bourbon glaze." So, when she came back and to tell me again it was GF and the kitchen manager told her it was safe. I told her that the glaze was not GF and was listed online as it was not GF. She was like yes it is I asked twice. I then asked for a manager bc I know it is a lack of training and it is a very serious issue. If I would have eaten it I would have had a bad allergic reaction. She teas like I just asked him. So I said "Please I'm asking you to ask the Manager to come out." It took forever for the manager to finally come out. When one of the people I was with said it is taking him forever to come out. I said, " he is probably back there brushing up on the ingredients before he comes out so he knows what he is talking about." When he finally came out that was confirmed. He told me that he was sorry bc they told me wrong and that it isn't GF. I told him that he needed to do better at training the staff bc it isn't a waitress issue at this point it is a management issue bc the training isn't in place and if I didn't know what I was talking about I would have ended up with an allergic reaction that could have sent me to the ER. Giving someone with an allergy to Gluten can KILL them. I share this story for my other allergy people to triple check and if you have a gut feeling you need to sit there and research before partaking in the food. I did tell the waitress that it wasn't her fault that they didn't train her for this. My brother who is a manger and has taken the safe serving class told her to never take her managers word for it to always make them come out to talk to the person so if this was to happen and the person was to eat it she wouldn't be at fault. You could see the effect the situation had on her that it almost happened. Just an FYI she knows we were not mad at her.

We found out after we sat down that they stop serving breakfast at 11:30 am on Fridays, in order to prep the kitchen for all the fish frying they do. The restaurant feels like you'd expect for a place called "Pop's"; very homey, a little old-fashioned, but comfortable. We snagged a table for four to wait for my parents to arrive, and the nicest waitress I've ever met brought us coffee and water. (The coffee was surprisingly good, by the way.) Once my parents arrived, we were able to order: Chicken Fried Steak, corn bread and macaroni & cheese and potato salad for me (plus a bonus biscuit brought by our kind waitress); French Dip sandwich for my husband; chicken livers with corn and mashed potatos for mom (don't judge her...I already did haha); beef steak with mashed potatoes and tater tots for dad. My husband also ordered a plate of the spicy pickles for the table, though my mom - who will eat fried chicken livers at 12 pm on a Thursday - refused to touch them. The pickles came out quickly, and were served with two spicy ranch and one regular ranch for dipping. My dad, husband and I went to town on them - crispy, perfectly fried and paired well with the sauces - while my mom looked on. It didn't take long for the menfolk to clear the plate of pickles, so we waited. And we waited. And then we waited some more. Our waitress stopped by a few times to refill our coffee and water, and to give us updates on the food. She did apologize that it was taking so long, at least. Once the food did come out, we all fairly fell on our plates. The chicken fried steak was decent, and had some good flavor. The mac and cheese was good, the potato salad was zesty. The biscuit was big and fluffy on the inside, with a slight crisp to the crust. Perfect. My least favorite thing was the cornbread muffin, it was bland to me. Everybody else loved their meals, though my mom kept saying how big the serving was. It was like the kitchen took every chicken liver they had in the fridge, fried it up and dumped it on her plate. There was no way she was going to eat everything, so she pushed some over to my husband, the only other human at that table who would have been inclined to help her with her meal. We all pushed away from the table over 90 minutes later, sated by the meal and pleased by the service.
