RC ordered the twin lobster tails with sides of fries and fresh veg and as the server dropped his plate he said he'd be right back with the other lobster. Our meal and drinks came out pretty fast. Since we were in the bar/lounge we were seated about 4-6 inches away from people, which was pretty close, but we chose this spot because of the wait. The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned amazingly, hence the 4 stars. This place is attached to a hotel, so the parking lot was pretty busy. We just decided on a whim to pop into Outback Steakhouse, when we saw it was right next to the hotel we were staying at before an early morning flight. My gosh am I glad we did! They were pretty busy, but the service was still excellent. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holidays and was very clean. And as always, the food was so wonderful. I absolutely love when a steak is so good you don't need any steak sauce. That's how it should be! My sirloin was cooked to perfection, charred on the outside and red on the inside. The ribs were also delicious, the meat was tender and falling off the bone, but there was such a good crispy char on the outside. I live for their mashed potatoes, I will say the asparagus could've been seasoned and cooked a little better. My wife had chicken and shrimp over fettuccine and absolutely loved it as well. I haven't been to an Outback Steakhouse in ages. After I got to Minneapolis, I was absolutely famished and needed food quickly. The pizza place I wanted to eat at was out of the question due to distance and not having the energy to uber there. So, I came here instead because I could walk, get in and out and get back to my hotel quickly. Walking in the place wasn't busy at all and I got seated right away. I didn't expect it to be busy solely based off the fact that it's a random Thursday night. Anyway, I found a seat at the bar where most of the patrons were sitting. Place was well decorated and seemed to have a nice vibe. I scoured the menu and went with the Three thing combo or whatever it's called. It came with salad, three different meal options and a dessert. COOL! I went with the burger since that was more my mood at the time. I got pumpernickel bread to start which was delicious. Then, I got a Caesar salad, but the dressing tasted a bit heavy on the anchovies? It wasn't bad but slightly overpowering. Anyway, my burger came out and it was good. I could barely finish it to all the other food that I'd had already. It came with fries, but the fries weren't that good. No worries, I wasn't there for the fries anyway. I guess if I were to go again, I'd get something else next time. I also got a free slice of cheesecake that I took to go so I could eat it later. Not bad. All of this was only $14.99. Amazing. Starting with a location warning, this restaurant is part of the hotel, and shares a parking lot with another. The restaurant itself is set up to pack in as many tables as possible with very little to no space for movement outside of the established staff pathways. Staff is very overworked and short staffed based on numerous side conversation wait staff was having, I would say they did the best they could. Although it is labeled as accessible the tables and booths are set too close to accommodate, the management is focused on turning tables rather than a comfortable dining experience. One thing I'll say about Outback is that no matter what location I visit, I always order the same thing, and it's always consistently made, and my steak is ALWAYS cooked perfectly. Had a steak w loaded mashed potatoes and asparagus and everything was excellent. Even snagged a few of my sister's Brussels sprouts which (although they look awful in the photo) were delicious! My sister's martini is pictured--she said to include it as it was awesome. My partner and I came here for V-Day last year after my friend had raved about the good cheap steaks and other food. We got mac&cheese bites, filet mignon, and bone-in ribeye. I had ordered mine well-done, and it came out medium rare with blood oozing out as most do, so we told the waiter that I ordered well-done. The chef came out a few minutes later, upset, and insisted my steak was fine. I told him that I ordered well-done and received a medium rare. He said "it's more medium well actually" and my partner said, "that's still not well done" The cook came back with another steak, which was actually more like medium well this time, but I didn't say anything... We were sitting right in front of the kitchen entrance, and after that, he watched me eat the rest of the time we were there, which wasn't very long, as I started to feel very uncomfortable. Despite that being our first experience, we decided to go back because we wanted another cheap steak dinner that we knew had good flavor. Our second visit started with waiting for the hosts to finish their conversation with one another before being greeted, even though we were right in front of the host stand and they were looking at us while talking. We were seated and waited a good 5-10 minutes before our waiter came and he did not seem delighted with us. His tone was very "I'm over this shit," and he kept rolling his eyes. Cut to getting our food... My partner's steak tasted like they had soaked it in dirty dishwater like actually.. if you've smelt dirty rags before that's what it tasted like. And everything else was not good either. My partner was very upset by the bad service and food, so he requested to talk with the manager who did not want to deal with us either. He asked what was wrong, my partner explained, and the manager asked what he would like them to do, and my partner said he did not want to pay for the meal. The manager then asked that same question about 3-5 more times until leaving our table without any resolution. Nobody had come back after 10-15 minutes, so we left. My steak, the most expensive cut ordered at our table, was requested as Medium but was delivered Blue. No thanks. My wife's steak was cooked perfectly. Since my steak was so far underdone, it 2as chewy and littlemofnyhebfat had rendered making it somewhat unpleasant to eat. My wife ordered a soup side but was given broccoli with her meal instead. My salad side was delivered without issue. Drinks were fine. Desserts were quite large and also quite fine (and filling in my case). Issues: we didnt have a server but several. It seems because it this some signals were crossed and things not done quite properly. I'd mentioned yo the girl that asked how things were that my steak was a bit under, and later when our guy server (the one we placed our orders with) came to collect plates and ask about dessert he didn't seem the least bit informed and didn't question why half a rib eye was still on the plate. All in all, it was a disappointing visit. We had never seen issues like this at the Burnsville location before it closed (though I admit we were not frequent visitors anyway, things have gotten expensive the last few years). That said, the next time I'm in the mood for Outback we'll drive to Maplewood or Coon Rapids or Hudson, WI insteadnof visiting this store again. My steak was a jiggling. Yes medium rare jiggles but we are talking jello jiggle. Hey love my meat is mooing. Instant attitude by miss Avery K. Enter manager Melvin. Instant ["is there is a problem?"]I explain my steak is rare. He then asks me what I want my steak to look like. I say medium rare. He asks me again what I want it to look like. Again I say medium rare. He asks again!!!!! Third time!!!! I finally say I'm not going to play his game. I want medium rare, cool pink center. He then says that what I am describing to him is a medium to medium well steak. WTF??? I get the steak back almost instantly. I am also be willing to bet that my plump little filet was frozen. The hard tough sear and a very very soft side that was a very pale tan color says something wasn't right. Just ewww. I didn't take a single bite of the steak and he knew that when he walked by [10 minutes later!] and asked if everything was okay. I did eat my baked potato but couldn't finish the vegetable medley as the zucchini & squash was too soft & the carrots too hard. Sir finished his steak, lucky guy. He opens the check holder to pay and we see he charged me full price for my steak when the uneaten steak was cleared off my table. $108 wasted is bad. Losing the celebratory vibe was worse. So pleasantly surprised with the service we received at this Outback Steakhouse! Our server was Kellis who gave us the best service we have had since the beginning of 2020, for real! Kellis was outstanding! Our drinks came right away. The kitchen made an error on our order and he noticed it and got it corrected without even having us say anything about the error. Kellis was very personable and got our check processed without us having to wait. As for the food, the salmon and asparagus was excellent personally cooked. We had the fried mushrooms but they were way too peppery. The blue cheese chop salad was meh. I would revisit the restaurant but I wouldn't get the mushrooms or chop salad again. read more
