Food is always good, fresh and hot. Only cons on this visit, our waitress left the menus on our table after we ordered, so we just placed the menus up on the halfway that separated the booths from one another. The other downside is that the lobster tails seems a bit small or what other places serve. Last downside is that since you can pay from the portable kiosk that they have on the table nowadays, waitstaff barely stop by to see how you are doing, nor even stop by to see if you need more drinks, they just bring your food, drop it off, and that's the only time they ask if you need anything. read more

It's a reason a lot of Outbacks are going out of business. The food just isn't the same. This is my first time at this location and while the curbside experience was pleasant, the food just missed the mark. I ordered the grilled shrimp on the barbie and the shrimp were horrible. Not only were they tiny but they tasted like frozen, cocktail shrimp. They were dried out and plastic-like too. I also ordered the steakhouse mac and cheese which I've gotten at outback before and this was the one thing I did enjoy here. It's cheesy, has a homemade sauce and many spices in it. Lastly, I ordered a side of mashed potatoes. I don't know what they mixed in them but they had a weird texture and taste. Not good. Overall, I wouldn't eat at this location again and I wouldn't recommend outback. There are better steakhouse chain restaurants out there! read more

Decided to check this place out since they have closed several around the Houston. The location is right off the I-10 freeway with plenty of parking. I went in the late afternoon as that was a good time to go because it wasn't crowded at all. The restaurant seemed clean but there were like a few gnats here and there. My server was nice and I was greeted upon arrival. I ordered wings, fries, and a salad. I ordered a Sauza Margarita "down under" (extra shot) on the side of the drink. It was okay then I ordered a Margarita flight but returned it cause I had a gnats in one of my drinks. Overall I'd encourage anyone to go as it's not busy and my food was delivered and cooked fast. Asked for the bone in ribeye medium rare and it came out rare on the blue side. Initial bite was not very flavorful. . Meal was sent back. Service was okay, had to ask for utensils. The server asked us to cut our steaks when the meal was delivered but how could we when we didn't get a fork and knife? Ambiance was nice, music wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear yourself think or had to shout across the table like other places. Cleanliness was good. Overall, 3/10 I wouldn't return because my belief is if a steakhouse can't get your temperature correct the first time then it's not worth visiting a second time! If we are not at a Brazilian steakhouse then we visit Outback. This location is conveniently located off of IH 10 East. There is plenty of parking. You do have the option to put your name on the waitlist prior to arriving via their app. Another pro to having the app is the ability to browse the menu, order online for takeout and keep track of your loyalty points which are called dine rewards. I came here wanting their fire grilled Prime Rib and guess what, they were out? I don't quite understand why they would be out of this. Anyways I went with my second option which was the centercut sirloin done medium rare. I started out with a house salad with ranch and macaroni and cheese bites. Did I mention their hot fresh bread with butter? May, our server was great! Very attentive and went above and beyond to get me some tartar and cocktail sauce for my coconut breaded shrimp I added to my steak. For some reason they don't carry these condiments for the seafood they serve. They do carry beer and mixed drinks. My favorite obviously is the Big Bloke Foster's. The service here is awesome. Some nice young ladies welcomed us in and sat us down. Our waiter Joel was so great to us, we mentioned it was our first time at Outback and they brought us a complimentary bloomin' onion. Which was absolutely delicious, I dare to say it was better than Texas roadhouse's cactus blossom. The place was nice and clean, and they had the Super Bowl on. I got the 3-course meal which has one appetizer, and entree with a side and a slice of cheesecake for dessert which starts at $16.99. The steak was so soft and tender! It had such great taste and was cooked just how I ordered it! The mac and cheese looks good to the eye but it's pretty bland and doesn't have much flavor. Well first off they need to clean there bar or table. When I was seated it was dirty asked to clean it myself, which is not a big deal. The bar tenders where more occupied with talking to there friends along with the waitresses. The service was not on par that's for sure. Food was good though there was a lot. My hat goes off to the cooks for kicking ass. If it weren't for the people up front I would've given a five star rating. The people upfront make or break you!!!! I would give Outback 5 stars if it was not so durn expensive. I have always loved their food, adult beverages and the vibe/ambiance. Alice Springs Grilled chicken is soooo good and I love their grilled asparagus and veggies. Yum. Aussie cheese fries are always bomb. Wallaby darned (well I'll be darned)- is a frozen peach daiquiri they make- delish. I split 1/2 rack of ribs with my son this last trip. They were so tender and the flavor was great. We were stuffed. This had to of been the most disappointing visit to a steakhouse I've ever had, food was crap and a special kinda crap at that. Stake was so chewy and way over salted. On Saturday July 7th, 2018 I found myself on a double-date with my girlfriend, my cousin, and his wife. After a long deliberation we decided to dine-in at your Outback Steakhouse located at 5218 I-10 in Baytown, TX 77521. The approximate time we were seated was 7:30 p.m. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks, and shortly after, our entrees. My selection was the chicken and shrimp pasta which I had very high hopes for. Once the entrees came out I began by taking a bite of the chicken then proceeded to slice the lot of it up to make it more manageable with the pasta. As I was doing this, everyone else at the table has already begun eating. Once my chicken was diced I ate a forkful of pasta and even shared some with my girlfriend. My attention then turned to the shrimp. I do not normally like seafood or shellfish so I am very meticulous when it comes to shelling shrimp. I had one and then shared the next with my girlfriend. The meticulousness, however, definitely came in handy this evening for when I shelled one of the last shrimps on my skewer I found a shard of glass seared onto the shrimp. I have a picture of the shard and will e-mail it upon request. I immediately put down everything and patiently waited for the waitress to make her way back to us. My demeanor must have completely changed because just as I sat down my utensils everyone in my party turned to look at my and stopped eating out of concern. I explained to them what I found and they asked me what I wanted to do. In an effort to not cause further concern for my family I assured them it was okay and that I would not be eating anything else for the night and they should finish their meals without worry for my lack of an entrée. With that, they cautiously continued eating and the waitress came by, was informed, and quickly went back to retrieve the manager. The manager, a woman whose name I cannot remember, walked right past our table a few times and then came over with a less-than-concerned look on her face. She asked what the problem was and she seemed non-chalant as I explained it to her. I work in a hospital and swallowing or chewing on glass can cause significant damage to the soft tissue in the mouth and down the esophagus to the stomach. When I explained this to her she dryly responded with, "Oh, you work at a hospital so you must be an expert at this." Which appalled me with it's near-sarcastic connotation. She offered a new pasta or one to-go and I declined both. She refunded me my entrée which I expected outright. But the whole situation soured the whole night for my family and I feel this manager did not handle this situation to the best of her ability. If it were not for the fact that I pay very close attention to the food that I eat as I eat it I would have needed to go into an emergency room that night from cuts in my mouth related to a lack of diligence while food is being prepared in this kitchen. The only thing worse would have been if that had happened to my girlfriend as a result of my trusting the food that comes out of the kitchen at this place. I have had great, good, and fair experiences at other Outback Steakhouse in the past. I was not at all impressed or persuaded by the manager's lack of accountability in this situation. I was not at all impressed by her patronizing comment about how I must be an expert at glass because of my profession. I was not at all impressed by the utter disrespect that I was shown at this location and cannot put into words how infuriated I was. My first impression at this location was horrid and the fact that I put my family ahead of myself is the only reason I did not walk out of that place immediately, especially after the words the manager left me with. Oh and we also got a couple bundles of silverware that were not properly cleaned. TLDR: There was glass in my food and dirty silverware. Go somewhere else. Update: had a conversation with the manager a few days after this. Pretty much cleared up any of the interactions I found to be snarky or even condescending when this happened. However the safety concerns did not change and although I received vouchers for another meal and a recommendation to come back and have a different experience I'll most likely never return to this location and opt to use my voucher at another one. Maybe to salvage this night in the eyes of my family. Kudos to the manager for reaching out. That goes a long way. read more

Last night I ate at the Outback and had a great time at the bar. Food was good drinks were over the top. Came back for dinner tonight and was expecting the same. Opps, asked for my normal double Jamison and the pour was, in my opinion slightly short. The bar tender started to fix it and a second bar tender jumped in and said no way. So, all it would have taken was a splash and a smile and we would have had as much fun as I had last night. But the lecture on how to pour shots.......well, put the whole amazing experience in the tank. So I ate somewhere else. This is a good lesson on how import it is to make the custom feel special. A 50cent splash of Jamison and a smile would have netted a customer two nights in a row, a solid review and the possibility of three nights in a row, since I usually stick to the same restaurant when I travel. read more

I recently went to this location. to take advantage of the steak and crab special they were promoting on tv. Once we were seated ( walked right in and sat down) I found that I could order just the snow crab legs so I did! They were some of the best crab I have had in a long time! Well that's not true - I had some snow crab at red lobster the week before but it was spongy and terrible. Not this place their crab was crispy and easy to eat! Place can get busy at times so go a little early if you can! Wait staff was very friendly and also was checked on by their managers to make sure we were happy! Great move Outback! My experience was completely opposite of many of these bad reviews!! My family & I ate here on Saturday night 7/1/17 & had a GREAT experience! We were greeted & seated immediately upon arrival. We were given fantastic service from our waitress Leah...she was friendly, engaging, efficient, coordinated the timing of our 4 courses perfectly, checked on us at just the right times, never forgot to bring us anything we asked for, nor did we ever have to wait for anything. The person who delivered our food did a great job as well, bring ing us the couple extra things we needed right away. The manager (I'm assuming he was anyhow, red shirt) came by to check on us at the table, as well as held the door open for us as we left. The food was wonderful! Our appetizers (mac & cheese bites & cheesy fries) were hot & fresh, I loved loved loved the bleu cheese vinaigrette dressing on my salad!!! Our steaks were cooked perfectly, as well as the delicious coconut shrimp that came with my steak. Save your money and sanity, and don't eat here. I sat and read reviews for both Outback and Texas Roadhouse before deciding that surely Outback couldn't be that bad. Well, I chose wrong. Short version: Worst $80 ever spent. Service was outrageously slow and significantly subpar, orders came out missing key items, my steak was rare when I ordered medium, and then our waitress avoided our table after I pointed out the issues. After flagging a manager down, we got a bit of an apology and our appetizer comped. Waited enormous amounts of time for everything and noticed other patrons trying to track down waiters after waiting too long, as well. Wouldn't even consider coming back here again. Long version: This place was pretty awful. It should have been a hint when we walked in at 8pm on a Saturday night and it wasn't packed. The hostess had zero personality and didn't greet us when we walked in (they usually open the door!). Then there was some audible huffing and puffing when we asked for a booth. We were seated in the bar area (we were fine with it, but found it weird that they didn't ask first) and our waitress was slow to arrive, but seemed very friendly. Things were looking up. Everything service related was VERY slow. It took forever to get everything. Crab cakes were good, but the coleslaw was mostly dressing. The side salads had so much dressing that neither of us could eat them and the waitress didn't even blink when she cleared away the full bowls of salad. The main course is where it gets interesting. A different waiter brought out my steak and my husband's burger. They did not ask me to cut into it before they left to make sure it was cooked to my liking. I had ordered a medium and it was clearly rare. My husband then realized that he didn't have fries with his burger (they had just delivered a plate with a burger on it). I then also noticed that my steak didn't have the garlic butter top that I had requested and my baked potato was loaded when I had asked for plain. I had also asked for the wine pairing and that was nowhere to be found. Luckily, we are not picky people and we ate our food and waited for the waitress to come check on us. About 10 minutes passed and our waitress had not come by to ask how the food was. I saw her in the bar chatting with another waitress, so I went and asked her for fries and wine, and also let her know that, while I would eat it, my steak was rare instead of medium. She said "okay". She proceeded to avoid us for the rest of the time we were there. Someone brought my husband fries and my wine after about 15 minutes - we were done eating by that point. Also, in my experience, steak restaurants will apologize profusely and send a manager over when a steak is not done right. This didn't happen. A manager eventually walked by and I flagged him down. I showed him my steak and explained that we'd had a bit of a rough time with everything that night. He apologized and seemed pretty shocked by how rare my steak was. He did comp our appetizer. He seemed very uncomfortable (as our waitress had) about the whole interaction. We waited for about 20 minutes for our check and our waitress was nowhere to be found. I finally asked a different server for our check. I overheard 2 other annoyed patrons trying to get their checks as well. I'm really not sure how this place is such a wreck when it is part of such a well-known chain. It really wouldn't take much to turn it around. First, let me start off by saying how awesome the Managing Partner Aaron Nilson was to us. My family of 12 and I were celebrating my son's 11th birthday. We original planned on going to Texas Roadhouse down the street from Outback. That was our first mistake. They wouldn't seat us together and the whole point was to celebrate AS a family. My sister called Outback Steakhouse. She asked them if they could seat 12 together. They said, yes we can. We get there and the hospitality was incredible. Aaron the Managing Partner came over and greeted us. We thank him for seating us together. My dad went on to explain how the other restaurant wouldn't help us. Aaron and his staff were more than willing. I know it's tough on a Friday night with a party of 12. I really appreciate all he did. They went the extra mile. A sweet server comes out and serves us mini appetizers right there in the waiting area. It was awesome since we had 6 kids with us. Then Aaron came over and told us to pick 2 appetizers on the house for when we get to our table. We were floored by the customer service and professionalism. Our servers name was Lyric. She did an incredible job! We didn't' have to ask for anything. The food was wonderful!!! . If you have had a bad experience in the past. From what I understand they are under new management. I would definitely given them another chance. Only thing I regret is leaving my receipt on the table. So I could have taken the survey to give Lyric all 5 stars. We didn't know where else to go since we were meeting family from Beaumont here. For a place not that busy service was really slow. Even the manager came out and greeted us cause there were empty cups on the table. Food took for ever and by the time food came out 2 of the steaks were over cooked. My wife order a Medium steak and I was a hockey puck. My sister in law order a Medium Well steak and it came out as well done also. My chicken fried steak was so well done it was a little tough to eat. The manager took the steak back and we all finish eating and my wife steak still hasn't came out. They came out and see we have empty cups but didn't refill it. I wouldn't come back here ever again. Cannot believe how crappy the service and food is here.
