Had probably one of the best times at Outback tonight with my family. We called ahead for a table, normally when my family goes to a restaurant it takes a while to get seated and after calling, it was a breeze to come in and have somewhere to sit from the get go. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive to our table's needs, especially with refills. Some believe it makes it romantic. I just think it makes it harder to read the menu. The chicken had a lot of flavor, and the house salad was rather large for a side. The squash was cooked nicely. Very good Hamburger Steak tonight. It's a new item and I recommend it. Sauce for it was fantastic.

This place used to be pretty good. It was a treat to go there when they first opened. The food was different than other restaurants, and it was very good. I didn't mind paying a little more. Over the years, it's dropped to about the level of an Applebees; nothing special at all. We come here occasionally and usually sit at the bar. Went there on Saturday, around 4:30. We hadn't had lunch and stopped in before we went to the grocery store. Sat down and noticed the bar area was in a bit of a state of confusion. Ok, they were changing shifts. I don't mind noticing that at a local place, but I doubt the corporate execs would have been happy about the vibe here. Two employees hanging out on my side of the bar, one who was eating and was off the clock. The other was still working because she began badmouthing the kitchen, saying the average wait time to get orders out was 85 minutes. She went on and on about how slow it was, and how we better hurry up and get our order in. Probably not the best way to speak to customers, especially since we didn't engage her. She just started up because we sat near her salad eating friend, I guess. We ordered a couple of drinks, which were decent, and arrived quickly. I usually get a steak or ribs here, and those are pretty good. This time, we both ordered pasta dishes. They came out in a reasonable amount of time. Not complaining about that. I got the chicken/shrimp pasta, and it was very underwhelming. Some of the pasta was sticking together in clumps, the shrimp still had tails on them, the chicken wasn't even sliced at all. Just a chunk of chicken. Just not a very good looking dish. I get that your cost is lower if you don't have to cut the tails off or slice the chicken, and make your customers do that. But, I felt like I wouldn't serve this dish to anyone. And I won't order it again, either. Something else about the vibe here. Numerous employees had personal jackets and coats that they were allowed to wear over their Outback uniforms. Kind of slack, in my opinion. It transformed the uniform to make the appearance of the employees not uniform. What's the point of having a uniform if you're going to let your employees undo that? Several things like that. The glassware wasn't uniform either. I ordered a second drink, same as my first. Came in a totally different style glass. Nothing that we experienced was horrible. Nothing to make us not come back. We'll come back. It's just disappointing how it's declined in the overall atmosphere and experience. This place used to be on a much higher level than an Applebees. Now, it's basically the same. And as I've said before, no one needs another Applebees. Not even Aiken. Maybe this place needs a change in management. I hope it can get back to where it was, but I doubt anyone there even notices the things I did. Sad. read more

Outback is one of the few places near me that give the option to "pick up" in the Uber Eats app. This is important because I usually have Uber dollars to spend and hubby doesn't trust delivery :) That said, I've never actually ate in this location's restaurant but we have gotten pick-up on numerous occasions. I always order the Victoria's filet with a sweet potato and house salad. It is consistent and I enjoy it but a bit pricey so we don't order that often. This month they have some new offerings, like Bloomin' Fried Shrimp. I'm a big fan of the Bloomin' Onion but since it's just the two of us it always feels like too much food to order but this time I decided to add on an order of Bloomin' Fried Shrimp and they did not disappoint. Definitely recommend getting this as it says it's a limited time offering. I got an email saying they were also offering some fancy alcoholic drinks for the holidays and you could get them to go...but alas this was not available in the app. Might be a regional thing where you can't order alcohol to go. Oh well, maybe one day we will go into the restaurant to eat. read more

Instead of regurgitating the same line as every one else he actually told me that I was appreciated and even listened to one of my stories. Beyond that he was fast, polite, and incredibly welcoming. Outback of Aiken is truly a horrible dining experience. We were told that there were no blooming onions available. What does that mean? It is literally what you are famous for. After a sub-par dinner and on the way out decided to speak with the manager. What are you talking about? We have blooming onions available. The waiter standing there asks me if I would like to order one now that my family is sitting in the car waiting for me to come out. The level of ridiculousness is insane. I guess they were shortstaffed because the service was slow and everything came out wrong. I ordered a nonalcoholic drink that arrived with vodka. My boyfriend ordered a draft beer that never showed up because, according to the waitress, the kitchen was too busy to tap a new keg. Our food came out an hour and forty-five minutes after we ordered and wasn't even hot anymore. There was too much to list here but needless to say they lost a customer. We just had a very disappointing meal this evening at our Aiken Outback. Our $100 meal for two consisted of a stone cold Blooming Onion appetizer. Attempted to order the ""new" Sheila Filet Mignon (out-not available). Ordered the sirloin with Outback Chicken again cold chicken & hardly any toppings on the baked potato. My wife ordered the Meat Loaf (oh sorry out of the gravy and cold baked potato. The only thing worth while was the dirty vodka martini I ordered. We were sat right by the restrooms where the staff station is.... what a mistake. There was always a staff member within 3 feet placing food orders, running checks, or just waiting.The staff were loud, chatting among themselves and even singing. One waiter coughed many times during our visit and had his mask revealing his nose some of the time. The food was ok. One member of my party ordered a burger but they forgot the cheese. They took it to the back and MICROWAVED the same burger so that the cheese would melt.... so much for crispy lettuce and tomato. I got the lunch steak meal and it was good. Outback in Aiken is the most disgusting restaurant in town. We have tried this restaurant several times for lunch, dinner and just a few drinks at the bar. In every instance, there are tables filled with dirty dishes as well as the bar, bar is sticky and not cleaned at "after peak" times. If the management allows this in front of the customers, I can't imagine what goes on in the areas the customers don't see. This last visit was in the middle of the afternoon with maybe 12 customers in the entire place, 4 people at the hostess stand and in the bar area where we were going to be seated, there were 4 tables of dirty dishes, with what appeared to be one person working in that area. It was my wife's birthday and I got this e-mail for a 6oz steak with a draft. I thought perfect. She was excited to go get her steak for her birthday dinner. Showed the e-mail to the server and we ordered a steak pink inside, she got the mashed potatoes and salad and I ordered my steak pink inside. Mashed potatoes was a bit runny with a substance that appears to be watered down butter. Inedible. Steaks had zero color to them, both overdone. To my surprise, Outback had ZERO draft beer on-site to honor that part of the e-mail. How does a restaurant run out of draft beer. Shrimp was delicious but I was really uncomfortable with the short fat white lady with a long ponytail who reeked of cigarettes. Instead of waiting on our tables she sat outside most of the time smoking and when she did finally manage to get back inside instead of doing her job she marched to the front desk and started complaining in front of us. Before finally getting back to our table a family walked in and she scoffed at the hostess and said something about not wanting to serve black people. Overall just a horrifying experience, upsetting because I love the atmosphere and having gone before most of the staff was extremely sweet so this was really disappointing.
