**UPDATE** After…read morethis review posted, Red Carpet Tailor reached out to me which WAS NOT expected! He was so kind and took the time to hear me out. Let me tell you something, A LOT of the time, business owners/managers see reviews and NEVER respond to them. This reach out speaks VOLUMES to the integrity of this business. That means alot to me! The next time I need an alteration, I WILL give Red Carpet Tailor ago! I walked into Red Carpet Tailor on Douglas Monday morning needing a simple side slit extension. The lady behind the counter was very nice. However, I am very shocked at the price tag for this alteration. Literally, extending an already existing slit in a Chef coat by 3" on each side should not cost $50.16! I could understand if I was needing same day service, but I asked to pick it up in 4 days. To add insult to injury, the coat wasn't even steamed for the price paid. Disappointed

If I could give zero stars, I would. I've never written a negative review before, but the owner's…read morebehavior was beyond unprofessional. I inquired about altering a dress (shortening + a small stitch), and she quoted me $140--my sister had the same dress altered for a much lower price so I was shocked. Meanwhile, another tailor down the block did it for $45. When I expressed surprise at the price, she smacked a ruler on the counter in my face and snapped, "If you can't afford it, ask first. Look at this line!" I completely understand valuing time, and I even apologized to the two customers behind me, but there is no excuse for treating people this way. If you want fair pricing and basic respect, go elsewhere.

I have come here for many years. I have several pairs of jeans that they hemmed a decade ago, that…read moreI still wear. Generally, speaking in the past, the work, they did was accurate and held together. But recently, the hems have not held up, they fall out in a matter of weeks. This time, it was simple girls uniform skirts, that are $25 apiece to hem. We had two of our daughter's skirts hemmed. They get washed once a week, and neither made it through a month. The Tailor was not happy with fixing them and mentioned that the blame might be my washing machine. I assumed they would apologize and just fix it right away. I did not expect to have to beg for them to fix it while they wanted to be paid. They made it clear that they would not fix it again without getting paid again. I am very surprised that their answer to poor workmanship was to blame the washing machine and ask me to pay again. In the end, they took the skirt into the back room for two minutes and brought it back out and gave it back to me. It is fixed, with jagged seams and loose threads hanging out. At least for a week or two. I will be looking for another Tailor.
