I really wanted to love this place. The reviews were great but my experience would never allow me to recommend this place. I came in with my daughter for a late brunch around 1:50 PM, not realizing they closed at 2. While I completely understand we were cutting it close, the way we were treated made us feel very unwelcome. From the moment we walked in, no one greeted us with a smile or any warmth. The energy just felt off. While we were quietly enjoying our food -- and for once, my daughter was actually eating, which is rare -- I started noticing a short Hispanic older woman (could have been a manager or supervisor) yelling at staff about small things in front of customers. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Before we could finish, she approached me and asked if I wanted a bag, making it very clear by verbalizing that they were waiting on us to leave. " We are waiting for you to leave because we close at 2". I was so shocked how rude that comment was that I had no comment.. This felt rushed and aggressive, especially when all we wanted was to enjoy our meal and some quality time together. The food was okay, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Hospitality matters -- especially in the service industry. A little kindness would have gone a long way. Especially because this is our first time in Waco. read more

We were on Waco for a rare overnight & searching for breakfast before heading home. This place was close to our hotel & luckily had a short line for an early Saturday breakfast. We were sat quickly but there was a wait when we were leaving. The coffee was a bit watered down for my taste. The food was decent. The huevos rancheros come with both salsas but my preference is the red salsa. read more

Great portion sizes, reasonable prices and a home-y feel... what more can you need from a breakfast place? We got here on a Sunday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes before we were seated- not the worst! My boyfriend and I used to visit The Egg and I frequent in the past, and I was so happy to find out this used to be one of their franchises. My absolute favorite is the Ham, Egg and Cheese Skillet (basically The Egg and I's Cambridge Skillet). Will definitely visit again the next time I'm in Waco! read more

Please be careful when eating at Our Breakfast Place. We were charged twice for our meal. Unfortunately dealing with management did not go well. Very uneducated. We will dispute it at our bank but never trust anyone who does not accept accountability or I'm sorry does go a long way. Please check your bank statement after you eat here. We had visited this restaurant a couple times already but the wait was always 45 minutes because of rush hours. So we never had a chance to try it until this Sunday when we went and the wait was 25 minutes. lol It was so worth it!! I had the strawberry and banana waffle . It was delicious and 5 stars alone. My hubby had the avocado and omelette breakfast and also loved his. The inside is small but definitely moving as fast as they can. A cozy breakfast restaurant on the southwest side of Waco. It has delicious food, good service and good for families. There was a waiting line, so be prepared to wait 15 minutes or longer. The place was clean and fairly organized except at the entrance where people were checking in. There is a lot of parking on the side and in front. I enjoyed my Veggie Egg Benedict very much, and from the number of people waiting to get in, they must have as well. So, if you are looking for a nice place to eat a good breakfast, stop by and make this place your breakfast place too! read more

Stopped by today on our way home. The inside is larger than it looks. We were seated quickly and had coffee soon after. They have a great variety on their menu, and it was difficult to settle into one item. I decided on the egg sandwich and a cup of chicken corn chowder. I enjoyed both. I think ham and bacon on the same sandwich was a little much as it over powered the eggs. The soup of the day had a good flavor... I expect a chowder to be a little thicker. My sister had the half and half ... chicken salad sandwich and Cobb salad. The chicken salad was full of cranberries, walnuts and apples and served on raisin bread. Very unique! My friends and I visited Waco and saw this place online. It is in a shopping center. The food was really good. I had the Berry Oatmeal and coffee while my friends had eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, waffles, and French Toast. They reported that they really enjoyed everything - especially the waffles. The oatmeal was fine. The coffee was better than Folgers, but not as good as Starbucks. The ambiance is what you would expect from a diner in a shopping center. Our server was somewhat attentive in the beginning, but after we got our food, she didn't come back out to check on us or her other tables. It took a very long time for us to get our check. My friend ordered an iced latte. When she asked for a to go drink, the server brought her a hot black coffee. She had to remind the server of what she had ordered. What a pleasant surprise! Visiting Texas and Waco for the very first time, this breakfast was great! The ambience is what you would expect from a "small" town type of vibe! The service was great, unfortunately I do not remember the name of our server but she was polite, knew her menu really well, came to check on us multiple times. The potato's for my taste were not the best... I personally prefer a golden crispy type but other than that everything was great. The price is also really nice, these 2 big plates + coffee was $26. I have nothing but good things to say about Our Breakfast Place! My husband and I visited on a Saturday morning on our trip to Waco. We expected there to be a wait at 8:30-9am, but we walked right in and were seated. Our friendly waitress came to our table within 30 seconds and took our drink order. I ordered a skillet and my husband ordered a basic breakfast plate with sourdough toast. Our plates were delivered to our table very quickly and nice and hot! I eat gluten and dairy free so I asked for no cheese and fruit instead of toast and it was an easy change. We each felt like the potions were generous and tasty. I called Our Breakfast Place and told them I had a table of 9, asked them how long was the wait. After about a minute on hold, they told me if we came over now they could seat us immediately. We got in quickly, they already had the table set for us, they had us in a more private space for larger parties and the food was so good. The eggs were seasoned, the portions were huge, and the management treated us so well. Chocolate chip pancake was huge and super chocolatey, the hot chocolate was rich, the eggs were well seasoned. Great place for a quick quality breakfast. Our server Maria was one of the best servers I've had in a while. Space was of good size, not cramped or anything like that. There was no wait on a Sunday at 9am. Everything was really well portioned. The chorizo skillet was a bit too tomatoey and I really could tell there was chorizo in it. The biscuits and gravy were delicious and last but not least the soup. I am a soup enthusiast and the chicken corn chowder they had was honestly one of the best soups I've ever had! The food here is always very good. Not cheap for tasty eggs Benedict or Special Skillets but always well done. We come back and back here for good food. I found this restaurant on our way to San Antonio. What a lucky find. I had the original eggs benedict with fruit. They were one of the best I've had. The waitress was friendly and nice to chat with. We ordered takeout for breakfast after camping and not only was everything super low quality, it was overpriced and some of the order was wrong and some was missing.
