Homestyle cooking with everything made from scratch like what you used to have at Grandma's house! There are chain restaurants that attempt to emulate down home cookin', but Our Best is the real deal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is insanely busy at certain times of the day and more so on weekends, but the food is exceptionally tasty and well priced so it's worth the wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very casual atmosphere with old photos and antiques located throughout which creates a true farmhouse ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's located in a small town and everybody knows everybody...people come here to enjoy good food and good conversations. This was our first trip and I can hardly wait to return again soon because the menu has many options for entrees and sides along with a host of desserts.

Our Beat Restaurant is worth finding. Period. A former mill turned into a landmark restaurant kind of in the middle of the country about 40 minutes outside Louisville is busy for a reason. Great comfort food with specials and affordable prices. Order out early as it was gone by the time we ordered dinner Saturday night at around 6 pm. Got there at 530 and had about 20 minute wait for our group of five, but worth it. I had the maple glazed pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and green beans. Others at the table ordered fried chicken and meatloaf. We had fried cornbread for the table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot to meet friends and have a wonderful comfort food meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the interior design with many antique photos and signs from around Smithville.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I have always given this place a 5 star in the past. however, this time I have to remove one star because of the service. It was not only slow, but we got very little attention. Had to ask for a drink refill and another order of Corn Cakes (which were extremely greasy). I also didn't think the flavor of the food was as good as it has always been. I had the fried chicken 3 piece. I asked for a breast, thigh and drumstick. I didn't get a thigh and got a small wing. The server said, oh they must have forget to check to order. Not the service I have been used to in the past.

Leftover meatloaf with green beans, mashed potatoes with white gravy. Cornbread like my grandma made!

The service was fast and friendly. Retired management walked past from Ford with a friendly "how's it going?"

Went yesterday around 2:30 with my family of 5 and only waited about 15 minutes. Restaurant was packed with families and everyone enjoying which was so good to see! Our waitress was really busy and not super friendly but I've been there before so nothing against that! She was doing her best! We tried the loaded potato bombs for an app which came with 6 and sour cream, we enjoyed them! Some of us got grilled chicken, pork tenderloin, burgers, and pork chops. Prices and portions are very fair!! Everyone left stuffed and so happy. No real complaints!! We love our best! True authentic country cooking!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the unique decor and country feel of this out of the way, in the country restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its appearance is that of a renovated old barn.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Think of a Cracker Barrel that is authentic. Menu are country food items. Specials appear daily including on a Sunday. Dessert cobblers are delicious. Portions are average. Service was excellent. Was seated immediately at 1 on a Sunday. The warmth of this place coupled with good food at fair prices and excellent service will make this a future destination. Kudos to the owners!

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

Our server was truly phenomenal - gave great recommendations, was honest, helped steer us, and took great care of our party of 5. The food was five stars across the board. Some dishes were absolutely our favorites, but there was nothing that we didn't like. The short rib and seafood special were top entrees, and the churro sundae was the best dessert (plus the cold brew ice cream omg). The cauliflower was an awesome starter and we devoured it. The bourbon beet cocktail was unique and a stunner. I could have drank 4 of them, they were so impressive. Overall, the property is beautiful, there's a trail that you can walk (super cool lighting too), it's nice and quiet and peaceful. Everyone is friendly. The food and drinks are amazing. Make a reservation and come check it out.

My husband's and my meals were delicious!! We had creative dishes to choose from and I added pictures so you can see the presentation's. My husband enjoyed his old fashion so much he had another. I chose to go with the wine paring and it was the right move!! The grounds are pretty with beautiful trees, flowers, and bushes. There are herbs and vegetables that are used in the dishes. I'm unsure when the Inn was built, but I love the sound of the wooden floors. The choice of curtains, wall decor and the hand painted mural was a nice touch. The silverware was replaced after each dish. The hostess was so nice and took our pictures at the front entrance. Be sure to call and make reservations. The meal can be $$ or $$$, depending what you order. We decided to go out and treat ourselves to a wonderful meal and it was worth every bit!!

Alicia W provided exceptional service and was a joy to talk to. We tried the caviar and duck rilletes to share. The rilletes were the only thing we thought we could have done without. The duck is a bit rich and stringy and the bread really detracted from the dish - too hard and chewy. That said, the portions of each were very generous. Next we had the aguachile and corzetti with garlic scape pesto. The shrimp reminded me of ceviche as far as flavor profile. The pasta was unique from our perspective - never had corzetti. Both dishes were very good. Next was the salad as we do not like beets or gazpacho. Nice fresh salad with a dressing that was better than a typical vinaigrette. For mains we had the duck and the ribeye. Duck was prepared perfectly and the ribeye had a pesto and the patatas braves with accompanying (mild) chili sauce was a nice side addition. Very Espana!! Couldn't finish the steak by that point but enjoyed it a few days later. And finally the cheesecake and chocolate hazelnut choux pastry. The pastry was awesome!! All-in-all we were very happy we dined here.
