I attended the guided session "Pure Presence" today and I LOVED my first experience here as an experienced bather. It felt a bit Ike hot yoga meets a bathhouse. A perfect mid week reset after work. I look forward to returning!

Othership Flatiron was truly a full body transformative experience. The class was one of the most amazing gratitude, breath work sessions with Lindsey and support guide Eli. Othership provides a serene, dimly-lit sanctuary, offering an escape from the busy lifestyle of the city. From the moment I walked in, the aroma immediately calmed, and centered me. The phenomenal front desk ladies that are very inviting, welcoming, and help create a very transformative space. Definitely made me feel at home. Special thanks to Daphne Rose that gave me a an amazing experience at the front desk. The changing room is next level, luxury! Everyone that i met were inspiring with sharing how the state of gratitude, and programming your subconscious mind can change your life. We were all in the same headspace of embracing gratitude. The facilities are super clean, and the aesthetic--dark wood, soft lighting, and natural touches--is designed to soothe. The guided gratitude class combines the thermal benefits of the sauna with focused breathwork. Inside the sauna, the instructor leads a powerful guided visualization, enhanced by aromatherapy. The supportive and calming group energy creates a deep sense of contentment and peace. Thank you again Lindsay, and Eli for everything. The communal tea lounge, is cozy, an ideal for post-session reflection. Thank you Root for keeping the lounge flow great, answering questions, guiding, having cold water ready after the sauna breath work. Fabulous! The ice bath was next level! My body mind, spirit, and nervous system, loved every bit of my experience, and definitely have to bring friends. Othership offers something special for both experienced and first-time sauna users. The class provides a reminder to slow down and appreciate the present moment. Leaving the class leaves a feeling of being reset, refreshed, and grateful. It's recommended to revisit.

I just took the sound immersion class with Valeria and experienced the best way to start a Saturday! It was my first time at othership and I went alone, so I really wasn't sure what to expect. Her class was so welcoming and relaxing. I couldn't last the full two minutes in the cold plunge but felt no judgement or pressure for having to hop out early. I wish the sound immersion class was every Saturday, I would absolutely come back for that but am excited to try other classes as well!

I had never done floatation therapy until today and will definitely return for more treatments. I've only tried the float therapy here so far. The float rooms are located in the bottom floor down this very steep staircase, but inside it is nearly completely soundproof (or as soundproof as one can get in the middle of Midtown...). The experience is very relaxing, as you get a huge private room to shower and then float in. The tubs are also really big so you don't feel claustrophobic. I appreciate the amenities as well, like lotion and little packets of Vaseline to cover up cuts. You get plenty of time to shower before and after your appointment so you do not feel rushed at all. Staff is very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. They do not try to upsell you on stuff and kind of just leave you to do your own thing, which I really appreciate.

This was my first time trying a 'salt room'. I went in with an open mind, and over the years have…read moretried a number of alternative therapies. On this one, I can't say I'm convinced it does anything. Sure, the overall space is nice and 'zen'. The salt room itself, very 'pretty' with all the various white/ivory/peach/pink/coral/orange shades of the salt walls. The feeling of salt crystals under your bare feet? Nice. Relaxing chairs to sit in. But at the end of the 30 minute session, did I feel anything special beyond the fact that I just 'relaxed' in a pretty room for 30 minutes? No. Note that the salt room can also hold up to three clients at a time, which means they have the potential to charge up to $87 for three people, for just a 30-minute period. That's $174 per hour for a room that's filled with salt. Where no personal or hands-on service is provided...just clients 'sitting' in a room. I guess they also disperse 'saline aerosol' into the room while you are sitting in there. I'm not exactly sure what that is, or how it's supposed to be beneficial to you but then it begs the question...is it the saline aerosol that benefits you and/or some type of 'energy' that is supposed to come from the salt itself in the room? I don't know...I just have to wonder if this salt room thing is nothing more than an (unproved) trend that they are going to milk for all it's worth, until the next wellness trend comes along. When I first arrived and was eventually directed to the room, even though they knew it was my first time there, I was given no real direction or expectation...just told to go on in the room. (Typically you'd expect some type of introductory language...'we pipe saline aerosol into the room...this provides XYZ, etc'). I also found it odd that at the end of the 30-minute session, the woman working the desk simply came to the room and opened the door without warning. No knock, no 'bell' to let me know the session was over...just her, suddenly opening the door. (Typically at personal service places like that, they would knock on the door first, or ask if it's ok to enter, and especially considering I was in the room all alone, i.e., maybe I was in the middle of taking a weird selfie when she just opened the door?) Maybe next time I'll give the infrared sauna a try and see how that goes...but as for the salt room and just sitting in there, I don't think I'd spend my money on that again. It so happens that at the time, I was starting to feel quite sick with a bad cold. Other reviews here seemed to suggest they felt 'relief' from a cold. I felt no difference in anything, after my salt room session.

The spa floor is on the third floor of the Howard Hotel, and upon entering--you're promptly greeted by the concierge and a super lush and cooling lobby. When you check in with the clerk in the hallway, (who was super nice btw), you have the option to sign some waivers, but I save some time by signing documents on my phone on the way. The whole floor is rather zen, except for the cleaners you can hear outside your room. You're welcomed in by refreshing scents, think Byredo or OUAI. We booked the 1 hour dose for two and were promptly ushered to our private room, which included the infared sauna centered and the adjacent bathroom to it, with high quality hair products (Redken Acidic Line), Peter Thomas Roth skincare products, and a tea tree body wash. Included was a hair dryer, some face masks, and some takeaways provided by some of the sponsors they're currently working with (eye masks, etc). Staff started the timer for an hour and we were left to our own devices in the dim, soothingingly calm lighted room. You are able to play your own music if you connect to the speakers but I thought it was fun to just vibe out to their own chill techno zen-yourself-out music. I loved how the sauna experience came with some cool wet towels and face wipes, as well as a ice cool water canister in the corner to refill as you please. The sauna itself was exceptionally clean and well kept. Since I don't experience this often, I found it most tolerable when I took frequent breaks outside by walking around or just refreshing myself with the towels provided. I was piqued when the staff notified us afterwards that there's a 15% discount when you book your next spa day with them right after your appointment, and that deal can be started anytime you come in. I felt refreshed for the rest of the day, despite being in this heatwave and perusing around LES/Chinatown afterwards (which is usually rather overstimulating and sweat inducing). I'll def be back--the time passes rather slowly, and it felt like one of those little luxuries that set the pace for the rest of the day. Exceptional experience with friendly staff, upscale facility, and affordable cost.

He had planned an evening of theatre, but I absolutely enjoy a chill evening+homemade brunch and wellness activities. He's been to AIRE prior, and I've had many massages locally in LA prior and always opt for the hot stone massage, this time couples massage which is what we did. It was cozy, relaxing, decompressing, and aromatic! Esp, on a snowy, 16 degrees outside wintery kinda Xmas holiday season. What a delight! We began our evening walking from the West Village, then upon entering Aire being greeted with warm tea my absolute fav drink besides an iced matcha. We were given wristbands and headed to our keyless entry lockers to robe up and descend into the jacuzzi, sauna, and cold plunge pools. It Feels like entering a gorgeous gothic cave. Thanks for a wonderful HBD evening, into night. What a beautiful, relaxing, healthy experience. It's the best, truly! Merry Christmas guys.

I've been back to AIRE dozens of time since my original review in 2013 (both TriBeca and uptown,…read morebut mainly TriBeCa location). For the most part, we have always enjoyed our experience - it never felt super crowded and the pools were always nice and relaxing to enjoy, as well as the steam room located in the center of the pools. It's a beautiful space. Massages continue to be mixed however --- my husband always wants a harder massage, while I ask for a lighter touch. He claims they never go as hard as he wants. My last massage there was fantastic. They renovated the space last year, and have run some promos recently and on our last visit it was noticeably more crowded, more than I had ever experienced before. I can only guess it is due to these two factors. We had an hour long massage, which I was extra happy about because I would've been frustrated being in those packed pools for the full 90 mins (massage was good, see above). The steam room was packed, some pools filled with large groups of people, etc. And it was tough finding space at the vanity to get ready afterward, which I'd also never experienced before. Add to this that they were fixing one of the new plunge pools while we were there, and during our massage they twice dropped tools resulting in very loud sounds which echoed into massage rooms which were located nearby. I don't think it was a wise choice to have that work done while guests were there, considering the setting of tranquility they are trying to create. Considering all the above, we have decided to take a break from AIRE, at least the TriBeca location. I brought these issues to the attention of management there and they have apologized with a discount.

I was worried that because I had arrived late, I would eat up some of my massage time. No siree! They moved my massage to start when I was ready to begin. I booked the 90 minute Nuansa classic massage. You know how some places start the clock before you've sat down and finish the massage early (aka you pay for an hour and it's only about 45 minutes)? Well! That's not the case here! I got all 90 minutes of my massage. The massage itself: not to be believed. Lukkana started by saying "time to relax". And boy did I. Let me tell you one thing about me - I have the most ticklish legs of anyone I've ever met. Usually, when I have my legs massaged, I kick a hole in the wall and the masseuse files for a lawsuit (this is an exaggeration). Well! Somehow, Lukkana was able to work the muscles in my leg without triggering my dainty ticklish reflexes. I was astonished! Then, you know how sometimes you ask for a firm touch and you get jelly hands? Or the other way around and you're walking out with bruises?
