Omg I wish I could give this place a 10 out of 10!!!!!! All around stars stars stars!! This was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a spa! Pros: First off the spa is super clean and modern! Staff is super friendly and helpful! Love the food area so you can take a break and grab a snack in your swim wear you don't have to get fully dressed just to eat! Major bonus points! You can stay allllll day with a day pass! There's no time limit! Love love love that! This place makes me wish I lived in NY so I could experience it at least once a week! The biggest plus for this spa is the stinking sauna show!!! That experience left me feeling like my entire body had a detox it never had before and I needed it bad! The show happens every hour n a half. So we got to go 3 times to the 6,7:30 and 9pm show! It's worth it to go if just for that! You won't be sorry!! Cons: the towels are really small and they don't have robes. Also when we were there for some odd reason they had 2 of the rowdiest girls I have ever seen in a spa! They were soooooo loud and obnoxious. It was so annoying. A tale of two spas: Aire (which we visited mid-year and I'll review separately) and Bathhouse, which we visited two weeks ago. Aire is a bit more expensive, but much better kept and spacious. Bathhouse has more of a public space feel, less exclusive, a bit more crowded and cramped in terms of square footage, but again cheaper. The main issue I had with Bathhouse was the front desk, which was profoundly unhelpful. We were treated like regulars, but in a bad way as if we already knew where everything was and how everything worked, which we really didn't. You scan yourself in with a QR code (feels like getting on the MTA more than checking into a hotel...) and then get a bracelet with RFID that you use to lock and unlock your locker. No one explained any of that, nor did they tell us where to go until we asked (and got a slightly exasperated and incomplete answer, to boot). The space itself is perfectly fine... the high salinity pool is less floaty than Aire, and perhaps the place felt a little less clean, overall, but the larger experience of heated pools and cold plunges, saunas and steam rooms, is largely the same. We got massages at both places too, and the Bathhouse one was more therapeutic (at Aire is was a lighter and general relaxation thing but here they worked us up) TL;DR-cheaper than Aire but the very poor customer interaction to onboard and slightly less spacious and clean areas give Aire the win between the two. Improve the intake and it would bring it pretty even, and that can be done with simple management. read more

I honestly have no idea of the quality of the service services in the business because I never made it past the front desk. I bought a day pass online. I had the confirmation on the screen, but the email never came. After waiting in line for 40 minutes, I finally got to the counter where the young lady who tried to help was so high that she could barely communicate She needed to involve her supervisor, which was via text message. I had to communicate with the supervisor with the stoner girl as an intermediary because the communication was text only. I was asked to take a seat while I waited. I sat in the lobby, watching a line of people grow because the people at the counter work at a very stoned snails pace. Finally, the supervisor made it to the lobby, where she informed me that my card had been refunded because there is a problem with the transaction. She offered to walk me through the process of signing up and I just left. The idea was to come and relax. My 45 minute experience in the lobby was anything but relaxing. But the pictures look great. The design is stunning--dark, moody, and incredibly clean. I spent most of my time rotating between the thermal pools, the cold plunge is an experience I highly recommend. With meditation I lasted 2 minutes submerged to my chin. This was not always the case. It took patience, and deep breathing. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Bathhouse-Flatiron. We booked massages and full body scrubs which came with full day passes to the bathhouse. There are kiosk in the lobby to check in for your appointment with wristbands giving at that time. You didn't go down until the locker room to change into your swimwear and issued shower shoes. There are several hot tubs, cold plunges, steam room, saunas and regular soaking pools. I like that there was a quiet area because the larger area was very noisy. There is also a café with beverages and snacks available for purchase. I thoroughly enjoyed my appointments and the showers available to change after your time at the bathhouse, I now want to visit the location in Brooklyn. read more

Overall, I love this place. The decor had bougie, meditative vibes, though the general vibe felt more social because the place was fairly busy, with lots of groups chatting. There is a "Quiet Area", but it only has a lukewarm saltwater pool and some lounging space. I saw people napping there. Seemed nice. Some logistical details: Slippers are provided. No nudity, so bring some sort of bathing suit. While they call it a "Day Pass", there's no re-entry. Prices escalate as the day goes on so I recommend early in the day to try you first time if you can manage it. From the website and signage, there's no phones or devices allowed, but the cafe area, there were multiple people on laptops and phones, and there was a wifi hotspot. So that area is available. It was approaching the new year, and I wanted to do some journaling so I ended up bouncing between the pools and eating/drinking at the cafe with my laptop. Spent 6 hours total. Great time and totally worth the money. Signage was hard for first-timers like me but you get used to it. Like, it was small print on a black placard against black walls. I had trouble even finding it. And then two adjacent rooms would be labeled "dry sauna" and "banya" but I wasn't sure what the difference was between them, and it's not like I could pull out my phone to google it because phones aren't allowed. Other bathhouses would at least state the temperature of the sauna so I could compare. Food was good, but the menu lacks diversity. That said, I liked the diverse selection of non-alcoholic beverages, especially that a bunch of them were low-calorie. Tip: Maybe bring your own slippers? Mine were accidentally taken while I left them out to dip in the pool. They all look alike. Bathrooms: In the locker rooms and then downstairs there were more nearer to the bathing areas. I came to Bathhouse Flatiron for a self-care day. I got a day pass for $40, which was such a steal! The staff were friendly and welcoming. In the lobby, there are small gift items and products you can purchase to take home. The locker room was clean, well-stocked, and offered thoughtful touches (i.e. Q-tips and feminine products). Complimentary sandals and towels were provided as well. The pool area had a very social atmosphere. There were several different options to choose from, including a cold plunge, a heated pool, a standard pool, and a sauna. It was easy to move around and try things at my own pace. My favorite space was the quiet area. If you get overstimulated easily or just need a moment to yourself, this section is perfect. I brought my book, put my feet up, and truly relaxed without any distractions. A few things to note: First, phones are only allowed in the lobby and cafe, so be prepared to fully unplug once you enter the pool area. Second, the towels come in a one-size option, which is not ideal for midsize or plus-size guests. Last, I wish the cafe had more lunch options. Walked away to get wristbands from kiosk, it didn't work, tried the one next to it, it's also not working. Had to get back in line again and the whole thing took about 20 minutes just to check in. Anyhow, we got changed into bathing suit (must say lockers lock was cool, done by wristbands!), got into the bath... um... it's lukewarm. NOW I need to warn Asian folks! If you're looking for HOT bath, you'll NOT find it here, it's basically heated pool. I had to run over to dry sauna to keep myself warm. Their saunas are very nice, they have dry, steam and infrared saunas and loved all of them! We booked the body scrub but they were running behind big time.(30 minutes!) and nor we were informed. They use CBG oil, it really makes you relaxed. We ate at the cafe after the scrub and the food was good. NOT your typical bathhouse! It wasn't crowded for a Sunday night. Reservations are required and I think the day pass price is cheaper in the mornings, but don't quote me on that lol. Heads up, phones are NOT allowed while you are using the amenities so please keep that in your locker. The place looked EXACTLY like the photos, dark rooms (again, not your typical "spa") and very clean/well kept spaces/rooms. As a California native, of course I was shocked when I found out I had to walk 2 floors down to enter the spa. There were staff constantly cleaning and mopping the wet floor. I felt so bad walking across the room after the guy just mopped, so sorry :/ There are 6 thermal pools; 2 hot pools, 2 cold plunge pools, 1 warm pool and 1 salt pool. There is 1 steam room and there are 2 saunas; dry sauna & infrared sauna. Also, there is a "banya", I had no idea what this was but the photo they have on their website looked like a sauna HOWEVER it is powered by a gas furnace....fun fact, make sure you DON'T walk in barefoot because I did and I burned my feet LOL. I used all the amenities in a bathing circuit - Hot, Cold, Hot, Cold...etc. There is not a wrong or correct way to use the amenities but I strongly recommend this way to help your body relax. The bathhouse provides guided dry sauna sessions every day, from 12pm-9pm. You only need to bring a bathing suit and a water bottle. The bathhouse provides complimentary rubber slides, towels, and personal care items in the locker room. The lockers are large enough to hold a tote bag/gym bag and they lock/unlock with your bracelet. There is a restaurant and lounge area to eat and just relax. You can also purchase water, alcohol, and other beverages at the grab and go section. I found this place on social media and I'm so thankful I came. I am actually kind of shocked of how many 1 star reviews...I read a majority of the 1 star reviews and it is unfortunate that many people didn't enjoy it here. This 3-star is all about the service. The facilities are wonderful, and this was a favorite of mine; however, I will now steer my friends toward higher-end and more expensive options, all because of the service. Check-in was a nightmare. The Bathhouse check-in system didn't work; each individual had to be checked in with a separate credit card, and when you did check in with that card, the charge required the cardholder's confirmation (through the Citicard app or by phone with a PIN) that it was legitimate. And all of this is done by your smartphone. So when you switch between checking in and confirming the charge in the Citibank app, you have to start over in the Bathhouse app. Over and over. The old check-in method was not on a smartphone; it was done on wall-mounted screens. This was a new system. We could not link a credit card to our individual accounts. After the manager checked us in from behind the counter, she told us we would have to use our physical credit cards (rather than our wristbands) to purchase drinks and food at the cafe. When I asked for clarification, "I really had to carry my credit card with me?" Her reply was, just keep it in your locker, and go to your locker when you want to visit the cafe. No apologies, no "let me comp you all a drink"-nothing. Just go get your physical card because our new system is still working out the "bugs". Needless to say, we had a great but short time at Bathhouse this morning; we didn't stay as long as we wanted because when we needed caffeine and food, we all just left. read more

I came here while I was visiting NY. I was indecisive about this location and the Williamsburg location, but I opted for Flat Iron because it had better reviews. I enjoyed my time here. It's a fully wet spa, so you are required to wear a bathing suit throughout the whole spa, including in the dry saunas. My favorite part was the sauna ritual, called Aufguss. It gets really hot during the ritual, but the sauna master encourages people to leave if they can't stand the heat anymore. It's definitely a unique component of this spa, as I've never had this experience at other day spas. I came here later in the day, around 6pm, and stayed right before closing time. I don't think it's necessary to spend more than 4-5 hours here, being that it's not a huge spa. One of the reasons I was considering going to the Williamsburg location was because of their rooftop pool. If this location had something similar I'm sure that will allow for more relaxation time to spend more a couple more hours here. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. Booked our reservation day of, last minute! Prices are so affordable and it's easy to get to near the yellow and orange trains by Madison Square Park. You can do a day pass between $39-79 unlimited time depending on what time and which day you go and you can stay for as long as you like. They have two different temp cold plunges, two hot pools, a warm larger pool and a warm salt pool which was my fave! Salt water soaking is so good for your skin! I left looking younger. They also have an area where you nap in the quiet room and a secondary seating area where you can nap upstairs by the cafe. They also have 3 different saunas at different temps and one is the infrared sauna which was the only one I could stay in for more than 1 minute. but my partner runs hot and loved the bayna sauna. There's also a steam room that's pretty big. They don't allow phones in the downstairs where all the baths, steam, sauna's and private service rooms are and it's refreshing. People actually talk to each other! It's dark and feels like another time! There are no robes but plenty of towels around the place for your use. Also, the locker rooms are huge, with amenities. Also worth mentioning is there showers have actual doors instead of a curtain which is nice. You get a black rubber wristband and use it to open and lock your locker. Also when you first get there you descend down several flights of stairs into the dark and it's a real adventure! We both loved it. I brought a book and got some much needed phone free reading time on the couches by the cafe after my soak. read more

People were taking pictures in the locker room, while a man walked through as I was changing. The vibe is not relaxing, it's like going to a pool bar in at a cheesy resort in Cancun, with guys rating girls and trying to score. People were talking loudly in the quiet area and there was no space in the one salt pool to sit. There was were too many people allowed in at once which made for a loud annoying experience. Only one staff member was helpful- his name was Matt. Otherwise- no one was there to manage the quiet room, locker room shenanigans or help guide you through the experience. I got a day pass and tried this place out yesterday. They've been popping up on my Instagram for a while. I have been to a few bath houses around the world and also to the Aire baths in New York City. This place is new and well appointed. Has 6 to 7 pools, but there is a lot of repetition. Some of the pools are heated. Some of the pools are normal and some of the pools are cold but none of the pools actually have any jets or sprays so you're not really getting a water massage . They've done a good job in the three different kinds of sauna and steam rooms but I'm not a big user of those. I still went in and tried them out. They also have a "quiet" room, but I don't see how that is really quiet. The music is the same and the people will come in and make the same kind of noise so I didn't see the point of it. I was not a huge fan of the decor. Yes it's very modern and gray and cemented. But it's not very calming. The music wasn't super soothing either it was more peppy. Maybe that's your thing. The service downstairs in the pool area is quite nice. The guys are friendly. The staff does a good job keeping the place really clean. The service upstairs at the check-in encounter was a little bit flaky. They aren't really paying attention so much. Also there was no mandate to shower before entering the bath :( and my skin still smells of chlorine a day later. And yes the place was crowded IMO at 11 am on a Thursday. read more

I went here in January 2026. Really crowded. Common areas weren't clean e.g. sandals everywhere which is a tripping hazard given how dark it is. Food was mid. It just felt like a dark room with some pools. There wasn't even much variety in terms of pools. Essentially there was a hot one which wasn't that hot, a lukewarm one and then a couple of ice baths. Worst of all, in the quiet area, which I thought would be more calm there was no one in the pool except for a couple that was aggressively making out on top of each other if not totally engaging in intercourse in a shared pool for everyone to see. No staff were stopping them. And I learned why as I walked away and overheard a staff member say "They're my clients and I don't want to lose my job so I'm not going to say anything." If a company makes both its other customers and its staff feel that kind of uncomfortable, that's not a place I want to visit again. In terms of value, safety, cleanliness and respect I wouldn't go with a VC backed bathhouse ever again. read more

I was going to buy a day pass online during dinner but I missed it by 10 minutes so I decided to just go there as soon as I finish dinner. Sadly, they couldn't take me in. Fully enjoyed my solo date here. I booked a full body massage to treat myself for Valentine's Day and it was so worth it. I chose the option of anyone available and was satisfied with my male masseuse, I think his name was Lucas or Carlos I got there abit late so I couldn't remember his name being rushed downstairs, but I do know he did a great job in making me feel relaxed. They give you up to an hour before your massage, so try to get there so you're not flustered like I was. But they did express me down to the area to change and then to the quiet area where the massages happen. I also enjoyed food and a glass of wine in the cafe area, you can take your phone or computer there but should respect others privacy and enjoy your winding down time without it. The different saunas were great and the pools too! I already cant wait to go back. Maybe try their other location since this one was a bit crowded. Was looking forward to this experience. I had a gift certificate and decided to take myself for a massage for my birthday yesterday. The 3 starts are for the saunas and the awesome massage - Colleen was wonderful and so sweet and helpful with my problem areas. Other than that it feels like a 'fancier looking' spa castle. It's too many people , the baths are barely warm, The jets are so weak. The staff in front talks to you so fast on the rules and then it's like a maze , you don't even know where you're going. I told them it's my birthday and they said they don't do anything special for birthdays but I can buy myself a glass of champagne at the bar LOL. All the women in the locker room were confused of where to go and what to do. The towels are paper thin, the water is supercharged with chlorine. You can't take your phone to the baths and sauna area. Just everything is inconvenient and nonsensical. The Massage, Banya and the salt sauna were probably the best part. Everything else was just absolutely MID. Maybe when it was Aiere baths it was nicer and fancier, I'm underwhelmed and would not be coming back or recommending anyone to go here. read more

I had a great experience overall hanging out for hours. However, a day later I had routine lab work done, and it turns out I have a UTI. There is no earthly other reason in my life right now that I would have one, so this is definitely why. Reflecting on that, I did notice that they let water pool everywhere on the floors without pushing it to the drains, which they should be doing regularly. I can only imagine what they don't do in the pools that they should be doing. The rest of the place did seem clean, but I will say the steam room wreaked of a moldy smell (whereas, at the Equinox steam room, it always smells like eucalyptus, and also I've never gotten a UTI from Equinox, or from the K-spa I've gone to, or any hotel pool/sauna, etc etc etc. So the fact that this UTI showed up just over a day later speaks volumes of this place.) I am really disappointed. The sauna in particular was amazing, and I was looking forward to going back. I'm also sad after reading reviews that people come here just to see couples having sex there. If you can't afford staff to shut that sh*t down, you don't deserve to be open. For everyone reading this, UTIs can lead to infections that affect fertility when they go untreated. This is especially the case when you're not sure you have one -- and UTIs from places like this would give you more indirect bacteria than from sex, meaning they could build slower and be less detected symptomatically than getting them another way. For $125 on Sunday we got access to hot pool, cold plunge, mid temp pool ,steam room, banya, and an infrared sauna. The attendants were super nice. Unfortunately the relaxation never started. It was loud and very crowded. It felt like an extreme overcharge for the amenities you get (Sojo across the river is same price for double the variety and space). Sadly I was also disappointed in cleanliness and minimal amenities for the price - Bathrooms were dirty, the towels tiny, and the complimentary bottles empty. Overall I don't recommend it on a weekend. The bathhouse is a beautiful space, very crypto gym bro, and the LEDs in the decor will blow your mind! But the beauty of the design is lost to the eye when the spa is packed with people. I recommend going early and keeping an eye on dynamic pricing. I found out later that they serve alcohol, so maybe that partially explain it. On the way out a fight almost broke out between some people in the locker room. All the staff I talked to were really nice and there were ample towels and even a cafe. I was nervous given that I had heard mixed reviews, but I found the premises to be clean and well maintained. For the location and admission investment ($60/$70)? I'll take it. This 2nd location (Chelsea) is bigger than Brooklyn (agree point), with more offering. The Palo Santo scent permeates the air on the ground level, with dishes containing cones in multiple corners. This There are a good amount of stairs, so keep this in mind. There are over 222 wardrobe lockers, and your key to locking/opening them (as well as any additional purchases), is your waterproof wristband. Try the Aufguss, but if it's your first time, sit on the bottom tier of seats. Have a cool shower, then a cold water plunge DIRECTLY thereafter. The ambiance is cool, mostly greys and creams. My favorite places were the infra-red sauna (almost took a nap in there), and the salt pool. I had a really good time and left feeling refreshed and relaxed as can be. It was my first time at this location and it's definitely bigger than the Brooklyn location but also less intimate. The pools were really nice, warm and spacious. There were several options to dip in. There's 2 cold plunges, for the behave folks. We tried each of the saunas and the steam room. Spent a few hours here today for a much needed self care day. On first thought, the aesthetic sort of reminded me of Sky Lagoon in Iceland--dark, charcoal interior, wrist band taps for the lockers and cafe purchases. But that's kind of where the comparison ended. I made a 10:20 AM appointment hoping to beat some of the crowd but it was surprisingly still busier than I imagined at that time on a Sunday. Bathhouse isn't necessarily your quiet repose--it's loud, people are chatty, it gets crowded and can look messy towards the afternoon once a full crowd is around and towels and water bottles are strewn over the bath area. That aside, I still managed to get in some zen and even dozed off in the sauna. Did a few rounds of the ritual and the banya is no joke. It had to be a solid 150 F when I initially walked in and I had to slowly deep breathe to acclimate just to last for a few minutes. As the door kept opening with the flux of people coming and going, the temperature was more bearable and I did a few rounds naturally followed by an immediate cold plunge smartly placed right outside. The Hammam is my next favorite and I think adding a little aromatherapy to it would be a nice touch but they'd probably have to account for different sensitivities to scents. There are a few other semi-heated pools that were a nice retreat after the hotter rooms. I popped in for lunch right at noon and had the charred cabbage. It was good with the exception of it resting in a glob of mayo (why?). The drink offerings are nice and I really liked the Riesling; it was a little fruity and low acidity. The canned cocktails are also good. Had a Manhattan over ice. All in all, a day well spent and I plan on coming back or making it a routine. My skin was so soft and glowing after. But, I may try to do one of the early bird slots on a weekday to avoid weekend crowds. Or on the reverse since they're open til around midnight, make it a Saturday night thing for more of a social vibe. read more

After my ok experience with their Williamsburg location, I'd figured I would give this location a try. The most significant difference is the size this location is probably 3x the size in comparison to begin with bigger lockers & pool area. This one has 5 pools , 2 cold , 2 warm & a hotter one & They are a decent size u don't feel like you are on top of each other like the other location. Also has a seating area, rooms for saunas, a few showers not bad over all. We took a breather & went to the restaurant we had an Apple cider & Ham & cheese puff pastry, both good. The showers here are amazing, you don't want to get out so many jets its so nice & soothing, good toiletries to use. In comparison I liked this location better mainly because it is larger & that makes it more comfortable all around. This was a good visit overall, nice way to spend a few hours. read more

Great saunas, cold plunges and soaking BUT it's really crowded - they are simply selling too many entries for the space. AND it's so freaky with tech. Too weird that a front desk person cannot even say hello or tell you a thing, go sign in and use tech gate, awful! We come to unwind, not be on Black Mirror! read more
