This is an online computer products store. Looking to increase the speed of my older model MacBook Pro, a friend suggested I get some memory cards here. The friend sent me a screenshot of the exact card I'd need so that all I needed was do a quick word search of the product name, click on the product listing, select the desired memory card size and quantity details, open an online account, set up my credit card details, choose a shipping method cost, then approve the purchase. The cheapest shipping was $4.01 for the $36 item, and they also charged tax. That was it! I received the boxed up item within good time. The box was free of any damage and still looked like it was a fresh, new box. This is a good vendor for memory cards. The options availability and pricing even with the shipping make shopping online here indeed a good deal. If you are on the lookout for adjusting the memory on your computer equipment, this is a very good online store to purchase from. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making it easy to upgrade my old laptop, Other World Computing! :D read more

1/5 -- OWC left a $1,196 order on my doorstep with no signature, then refused any responsibility when it was stolen I've bought from OWC (Mac Sales) for years and recommended them to clients. Not anymore. I ordered a ThunderBay 4 and an 18TB drive totaling $1,196.51. UPS left it unattended at my door with no signature required, and it was stolen shortly after. I have Ring footage of the theft and filed a police report. OWC's response: they only require a signature on orders over $1,200. My order was $3.49 under that threshold, so it was left on the porch. That threshold isn't stated in their published terms, which only say "most deliveries require a signature." There's no option at checkout to require one yourself. After multiple emails, the police report, video evidence, and an escalation, OWC still refused a replacement or refund. They also declined to file a claim with UPS. If you order expensive gear from OWC, know that you're carrying the risk the moment it hits your doorstep, and they won't help you if something goes wrong. Mac mini was trash from the start. Half the time it wouldn't even power on, when it did it was in safe mode 90% of the time. Had a ton of trouble recognizing mouse/keyboard, trouble connecting to WiFi, and the HDMI port had trouble connecting to the monitor. Sent it back, had to rush it and pay $60 shipping and then they charged me a restocking fee for another $100. read more

Poor customer service outsourced from around the world. Waited over a week for a product that was open box. Called myself after no communication, the new item was now almost the same price as it was on sale they refused to send It to fulfill the order. They emailed to say they could not help with the case it had to be cancelled. I agreed to cancel. Instead of cancelling they declined my credit card. So that got marked as fraudulent. Very strange and potentially illegal activities for this company. Will go elsewhere for my products! read more

Hello: I ordered a MacBook Pro 2 days ago and I still don't see anything regarding shipping the shipping information OWC has provided me. Can you find out what's going on with my shipment? I spoke with FedEx yesterday, and they were saying there's nothing coming up in their system with the tracking number I provided, nor has a label been created under the tracking number. Can you confirm that my package has left the facility, FedEx has picked up the package, or the package has been dropped off at a FedEx location and a label has been created? OWC says, that the package was shipped the same day that I ordered it. I used to work in mail and created FedEx labels all the time, and once a label was created under that number, I would track it, and it would say, Label created. I don't see anything moving whenever I track the shipment. I was supposed to receive this package in 2-3 days; I paid extra money to receive this package on time. I just don't want to feel like someone is giving me the runaround. I'm starting to believe some fraudulent activity is going on with the package. I know it doesn't take this long to receive updates from FedEx. Maybe the shipping department opted for a shipping method that doesn't provide tracking details.Thank you. read more

Literally just stole 200 dollars from me. Sold me the computer, shipped me the computer then mid shipping they requested return to sender. There was zero communication as to why. When I inquired, they tried to extort ANOTHER 200 dollars out of me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! Edited to address this half witted response. You are good at pointing out your TOS, but not the WHOLE paragraph which states the sale price is determined on the day of shipment. Not a day later. Not 5 weeks later. The day of shipping. Your company is disingenuous and unethical. Anyone reading this should STEER CLEAR from buying anything from OWC. read more

BUYER BEWARE Final review: Have defective OWC 16 terrabyte hard drive. This review follows up several previous ones. OWC put up roadblocks finally giving me "repair phone #" to call to set up a return. The consumer is responsible for shipping. OWC requires a serial number, this despite the drive lacking a serial #. Instead it has a QR code. By requiring the consumer supply a non-existent serial #, OWC avoids repairing any defective hard drives. OWC's behavior is fraudulent. Here is my case number to verify the validity of this yelp. Case: 02736055 Mercury elite pro 16 terabyte drive read more

I am long time OWC customer. I always consider them when searching for a Mac upgrade and most of the times end up purchasing from them. One hard lesson for me was that sometimes you can find something cheaper with other vendors, but you later find that a 5 year warranty is not always 5 years because 2 have already passed. Two other reasons that I keep coming back are: sales support and the extensive video library for upgrades. read more

OWC used to be a company I trusted to provide quality products and excellent support, but things have changed. I purchased a Jupiter Mini NAS in April of 26 to serve as a file server for my Graphic Design team. The unit arrived with one of the drive bay latches damaged, and broke completely off during installation of the hard drive. In addition the TRUENAS system will not function correctly. I have followed all guides supplied by OWC and the NAS will not connect. I also had a 3rd party IT person check the settings and we are still receiving network errors. Technical support from OWC is NON-EXISTENT I have been trying to resolve these issues for over a week. I have called multiple times, and submitted multiple service forms and have yet to speak with anyone who will give Technical Support. They keep saying they will escalate the case but the only people you can reach are in a call center and they dont have any information on the Jupiter Mini. After 6 days I did get an after hours email response from Nathan simply asking "What kind of network assistance do you need?" I immediately responded and asked that he call me during normal business hours. He has yet to responded and OWC has no means of contacting him directly. So here I am with a $3,000 brick on my desk and zero confidence in the product or any level of support going forward. read more

OWC's LAPTOP DESTROYED MY LIFE AND CAREER!!! STAY AWAY FROM OWC!!! I recently (2 weeks ago ) bought a MacBook Pro from them, and it was a NIGHTMARE! The USB ports output 20V+ instead of the standard 3-4V, FRYING THREE of my external SSD's hard drives and DESTROYING YEARS OF WORK! Their customer service is a JOKE. Cynthia was SPITEFUL, put me on a hold for 40 mins when I told her that my drivers are indeed fried.....and only responded back when I mentioned recording the call. Marc, their so-called "de-escalation" expert, blindly supported their illegal and unethical claims. OWC's DISCLAIMERS ARE FRAUDULENT. They refuse to take responsibility for their DANGEROUS products because their policy is "We can sell defective products that could injury, perjury and even kill someone, but we won't take responsibility for it - we just care about your MONEY!" Filthy hypocrites and SCAMMERS. BUYERS BEWARE! Their "Other World" devices will ruin your life and career. Avoid this company at all costs if you value your data and sanity. Legal action is pending. You've been warned! read more

Unbeatable value on handy upgrade kits and components to breathe new life into trusty old Mac computers. I've been a customer since the 1990s, and have had all perfect customer experiences. OWC understands Apple products, and takes the time to release wonderful videos that show how to complete upgrades yourself, saving a lot of money while being proud of your work. Quality offerings that I highly recommend to everyone. This type of expertise is rare these days. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. Stay away from these guys. If something goes wrong with your order their customer service, like so many other US companies these days, is through a 3rd party call center. They don't know what they are talking about, constantly putting you on hold while they consult some manual or deal with other customers. I finally just canceled my order. I think all they have the authorization to do is apologize over and over again and say stupid things repeatedly. Take your business elsewhere! read more

I've been buying from OWC since the early 2000's. My 2018 Warehouse Computer died. It happens. On Wednesday I Found a used replacement Mac Mini on OWC that stated "In Stock, Ships Same Day" I ordered it and a Thunderbolt cable to go with and paid extra $73 for FedEx Priority Overnight Delivery the next business day by 10:30 a.m. Shipping from Ohio to Tennessee. Great, Should be back up and running Thursday morning. Nope. No tracking, no shipment made. I called, and was told Mac Mini had to be built. 2-3 day lead. How can that be for a used Mac Mini. on OWC that stated "In Stock, Ships Same Day". After I complained Thursday, My Thunderbolt cable arrived (today) Friday but still no mac mini. I did not pay $73 overnight for a $19 cable. I was told this morning (Friday) to expect the mac mini today but FedEx tracking does not even show that they have accepted / received / scanned the package yet. After speaking with / chatting with 4 different OWC customer dis- service agents Thursday and Friday. It boils down to they claim "The shipping method applies when the order was shipped on April 3, 2025. Having overnight up to 2 days maximum transit time, you should receive it by Monday." ha ha ha I pointed out that I paid for FedEx Priority Overnight: Delivery the next business day by 10:30 a.m.. I provided a FedEx link that explains what the FedEx Priority Overnight service is and asked OWC to send me link that says FedEx Priority Overnight may take 2 days. They could NOT of course and said "Thank you for waiting, Matt. The minimum and maximum transit times I provided are for internal use only. We apologize; I am unable to share the link." I asked them to at least call fedex and change to Saturday delivery so I would not have to wait til Monday (if it even arrives then) but was told my order did not include "Saturday and Sunday are not included." Not one time did any of them give me a straight answer, blaming build time, transit time and weather. They didnt offer a different machine that could be overnighted. They never offered to refund the overnight fee I paid. I am so disappointed by the run around and lack of honesty or willingness to help resolve the problem from the customer dis-service team read more

I experienced a 75% failure rate on a purchase of 4 SSDs. 1 failed during the warranty period (was replaced). Two more failed less than 30 days after warranty expiration. I asked them to meet me in the middle, perhaps with a small discount on replacement drives. They refused. This makes me extremely suspect of their quality. I recommend looking at other options. Buyer beware. read more

OWC has a great selection of well priced quality items. Ordering is easy. Support from real people.

OWC is my go-to place for Mac-related electronics. We rely on our equipment to perform flawlessly in front of audiences up to 100,000 and sometimes televised in addition, so a computer glitch would be catastrophic. OWC components have been reliable throughout the years, and their prices are absolutely appropriate. Thanks for consistently delivering great work! read more

I bought a combination 8 Tb HDD and 8 Tb SSD to stack with MacStudio. It only came with an 8 Tb HDD and 4 Tb SSD. The HDD lasted about a month. Got the run around doing steps week by week with support. Finally, they agreed to try to fix it, and they gave me a shipping label. It was shipped back to me in the exact same condition with no explanation. The device now works, but it is because I bought a new cable as their cable did not work. Kudos to them for checking in with me. Not so many kudos for checking the basics and sending the device back to me with no explanation. read more

Easy to order and understand what I needed. I just received my confirmation in about 1 minute. Not bad

OWC is my "go to" source for Apple Macintosh supplies - external SSD cards, SSD enclosures and cables. Their prices are fair for the advanced technology offered. Shopping and check-out are easy. I initially bought some upgrades from Other World, then discovered another bigger issue once I opened my Mac. They gave me excellent customer service returning the parts for store credit, which I used to buy a refurbished Mac at a great price. I was initially worried because of some not great reviews, but decided to give them a chance because their on line presence is so big. My experience goes to show you that even if some other people have a bad experience, it's often times about the consumer, or the person they were working with had an off day. I highly recommend Other World Computing and would use them again. read more

So I ordered more items, and will certainly visit more frequently going forward. Thanks again. read more

Wow, whose shopping here? I've been buying Macs since they came out, I used to BE a private 'fix it' Mac Geek, and I have literally returned 5 laptops ... because I didn't like them. I have found the Customer Service to be well trained, professional, and kind. That they are explicit about who pay shipping when and how I've been all cool about. You'll see from my Yelp reviews that (a) I'm real, and (b) I tend to post praise. Take what you like from the other reviews and my experience has been wonderfully excellent! :-) read more

I bought a monitor for a new Mac Mini to replace our old iMac. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a monitor so I found this refurbished one and took a chance. Well, the monitor arrived and didn't work no matter how many adapters I tried. OWC's sent me an RMA for a refund but guess what? They want me to pay for shipping back to them! Since this is a large item to ship it was going to cost me $140 which means. It's not worth the time and frustration to deal with customer service as they have not offered anything but a "sorry".
