This location is out dated with payment techniques. Went here to pay bill and won't accept tap to pay, they said have to enter card info or cash only. So many other businesses don't take card info like that because of all the fraud. There was absolutely no costumers there but filled with employees. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a phone from Verizon Cellular sales in Woodstock, especially from Ali!!!!! I recently switched over from AT&T after being a customer for 12 years due to the promotions that seemed enticing. I would like to add in the 12 years I was with AT&T I never had ONE problem with them. About 2 weeks after switching to Verizon I have had nothing but issues. At first Ali promised me a $160 phone bill and the first bill I received was $400. After being told that it was only for the first bill, it was still going to be roughly $200/month until I called Corporate, and they added an additional promotional discount at $20/month for being misled by my sales associate. Ali advised me there was a $35 set up fee for each device from the store and he waived one fee and told me I could call Corporate to waive the other three. He failed to mention Corporate would also be charging ANOTHER $35 per device for activation and to waive store set up fees are not on the corporate side, and they couldn't do anything about it. This led to me paying roughly $250 dollars that Ali did not make me aware that I was going to have to pay. Ali also told me I had 14 days to turn my phone in and set up auto-pay, but on my first bill it was not accounted for since it wasn't done at the time of the sale. Another $40 I had to pay that was he was not up-front about; I would have done it in the store if knew it was going to cost me more money. He sold me 2 screen covers each costing me $50 and promised me the convenience of being able to come to the store for a year to replace it for free and thereafter a lifetime warranty through the screen cover's company's website. After 3 months I came to the store to replace the covers and now I'm being told the policy has changed and I can no longer use that convenience by changing at the store and I could only rely on the website with shipping to replace the covers. A policy change should not affect something that was purchased before the policy change date, nonetheless, I was told if I changed it at the store this time I would lose the lifetime warranty. Another $100 gone to waste when I could have bought a similar kind online for less than $12. I would also like to mention as soon as Ali finished the sale portion, he didn't even stay with me to close out everything and put the covers on my phone, he gave me another sales rep so he can go help other people in the room which is poor business. The other sales rep you can tell was new and was even frightful to put on my screen cover without messing it up. When I returned to the store a few times already due to complaints, Ali remains calm and speaks to me in a way where nothing is at fault of his own and even told me that he mentioned all these things to me which HE DID NOT! I have a fantastic memory, and I wouldn't forget it. He lies to your face and is quite deceitful. I've been in sales, and he is a disgrace to such a position. They are only looking for commission and couldn't care less how it affects your pockets. I IMMENSLY regret ever leaving AT&T and trusting this company. Not to mention, the service is not anywhere close to the service AT&T can give you. My phone lags constantly and drops connection all the time (never had that issue with AT&T). Save your money and your frustration and stay FAR AWAY from this place. Give it a second thought and look at other options cause this will be a decision you regret making. read more

About a month and a half ago, I visited this Cellular Sales after learning about the quality of Cellular Sales as a Verizon Authorized Retailer - but I was pretty disappointed to see the leadership sleep on being courteous and helpful. We worked with two sales people - well, we actually WORKED primarily with the sales person who was training, who honestly did a great job, but they received no help or support whatso-ever from the person they were shadowing, which made our experience quite frustrating. My elderly grandparents wanted to take advantage of a deal, and we drove out to this location to get them set up and upgrade their phones. The lead salesperson basically walked off and ignored the situation once things got challenging. The way the lead left, made it quite clear they weren't just trying to let the trainee solve it themselves - it was clear they either didn't know how to do it, or didn't want to go through the work, or there was some emotion going on - I don't know, but it was very frustrating to know that with two sales folks working together, we could have solved some of these problems more efficiently. However, the lead sales person just sat off to the side twiddling his thumbs. Guess the commission to work ratio didn't rate high enough for his time or attention.. Luckily, in time, the trainee persevered and got it all straightened out for us and helped get my grandparents going and they even spent a little extra time with my grandfather, who likes to go through every little feature and detail. They were very patient and spoke with respect. He handled calling into several customer services centers from competitors, and eventually we found out that my grandparents were already Verizon customers (the whole time they swore they were Sprint). I went in to get my phone set up and found out that they let that trainee go or they quit, but I'm honestly not too surprised. When your leadership doesn't take the opportunities to teach and support their new staff, you really SHOULDN'T stick around. That's just poor leadership and it effects the overall experience of your customers. Cellular Sales had such good reviews around the US, but in Illinois, it sure seems like they just haven't been able to find the right leadership to build the same quality you would expect from other locations. read more

My phone was approximately 2 years old and suddenly stopped charging. I went to this Verizon location to see what my options for repairs, replacement or data transfer to an older "back up model" of phone I had on hand would be. Logan and Allison were super helpful in walking me through each of my options, explaining the steps needed to make each option feasible, and the timeline to have a functional device for each option. With my plan specifics, it made the most financial sense to transfer things to my older backup device for a short term until I was able to find a more cost effective solution for an upgrade/new device. Doing the data restore and transfer took longer than expected (yay technology) yet neither Logan nor Allison complained/became frustrated/or tried to rush the process as the transfer kept them later after close. I was extremely apologetic for the delay, as keeping anyone after a shifts scheduled end is not anything I ever like to do, and they both had great attitudes, advice and professionalism throughout our encounter. We were able to sit and chat like old friends while we waited for my device to do its thing, and they're much more entertaining to interact with than counting ceiling tiles. Despite the pressure and guilt I felt for things not going according to plan (I arrived approximately 2 hours before closing, and we still all stayed late), they kept things light and relaxed, absolutely making me feel welcome and valued as a customer. read more

I would avoid this store and other Cellular Sales stores at all costs. They charge a $35 setup fee with every device you purchase, even if there is no setup required. They don't even set up new phones properly! In addition, they won't tell you about any bill discounts or cheaper plans unless they can pretend it is a part of buying something else from them. AND their phones are more expensive than at other Verizon stores, even on same days and applying the same discounts. Buying form this store could easily cost you hundreds of dollars, unnecessarily. read more

An absolute headache. Regret switching my whole family over and it hasn't even been a month. We walked in to get information and have ended up spending over 6 hours in the store having numbers and information thrown at us and then having condescending replies when we asked to have them simplify it. The amount of sales pitches and time wasted offering us things we didn't want was ridiculous. We asked not to have the protection plan and yet were charged on the first bill, we asked to have the Start Plan one of the lines and it was charged as a Play More Plan (as for the other plans I don't know if they got it right because they only sent the bill for one line instead of the whole family plan), we also were charged for two "set up fees" of $35 which is fine but they didn't set anything up & didn't make it clear that if we didn't accept the help we would still be charged. Talked to Cellular Sales Customer Support and although one rep was very helpful the follow up rep was very rude, short and hung up when asked to repeat information. Having to call to verizon to fix the extra charges on the bill, the literal headache of dealing with customer service and the unnecessary hours spent at the store have been a waste of time that proper, Honest customer service would have avoided. read more

Buyer beware. My husband said he was going to Verizon, and I could not figure out why it was not coming up on my map. At least it now says "Verizon Authorized Retailer." It is NOT Verizon. GO TO A VERIZON STORE. These are salesmen, so they will sell to you, not solve your problems. My husband went in for a new phone, they didn't want the one he wanted, gave him a different one. The only reason he went in because he was switching my Android to iPhone and needed help. He was in for over an hour, and one point the guy leaves to go to the bathroom for 15 minutes, at the end of it all, the guy says "so it's not working, so just go home and do this and it'll work." Yeah...no. He then charged him a $35 service fee I had to fight like hell to get refunded, and the guy turned off his messaging on his old phone, so that was a whole new problem. The amount of people that were in there for help, all they're doing is calling Verizon for you and holding the phone to your ear. Do it yourself, or go to an actual Verizon store, this place is a joke. read more
