Sorry I meant to add this review 15 years ago. I think they are no longer in the SF location. But it was great, kind of a basement setup. Be aware, they no longer are right by rainbow grocery, I think they are near that pet resort across the bay now. Well past the bay. You gotta take I-80 past the bridge but keep going past Emeryville and Vallejo. It's pretty much like right after that, but gotta go through Davis past Tahoe. Drive for like maybe another 2000 miles until you get to Iowa, but if you hit the city you went too far. But it's by the pet hotel. I think it's a nice location, they had to get out of the bay to get a bigger spot but they still ship to Cali. Really disappointed with the customer service at Anthem. They sent me a screen that split all the way down the side the very first time I pulled a print, and I was using a brand new squeegee that I bought from them. I had taken the utmost care when unpacking the screen, used my hands and no implements whatsoever. The first pull and the screen was shot. I reported this to customer service to seek assistance, and was basically told that I'm on my own and they have no responsibility to stand behind their product, because they buy them from some other supplier. Provide your image, they will burn a screen for you, $50. Bring your own screen, $25. They have all the supplies you need to print yourself. Ink, pallet tape, screens, scoopers & all that. I brought my own screen, they had it ready for pick up in 24hrs. I also bought pallet tape, screen tape, scooper, plastisol cleaner, and pallet glue spray. I spent about $150. I went home ready to print hoodies!! They have everything you need to do the job yourself. They also will do the job for you. I recommend. I will return. read more

These guys are great! I went in to buy some supplies for making some shirts on my own and they were very helpful in getting me started from scratch. The supplies are super affordable and I think they are just about the only place around that sells everything you need to print AND will coat and expose your recently purchased screen on the spot from digital files or transparency film. You know, "ALERT ALERT LADY DOES NOT KNOW WHAT SHE IS DOING, TAKE ALL HER MONEY." I've had some narrow scrapes! But walking into Anthem was a whole other deal: Carol was no BS, had great advice on what I needed to get started, and was not salesy/scammy in any way. David is a SUPER helpful and friendly guy. Seriously, he's answered all of my repetitive questions (hey, I just barely started screen printing!) about emulsion without becoming irritated. His store has everything you could need to start printing your own shirts or posters--from the basics (screens, ink, degreaser, etc.) to kits...and are those art books I spot on the wall shelf? +1 for Shepard Fairey's SUPPLY & DEMAND. I can't say enough about how great Anthem is! They've done nothing but educate me on the art of screen printing. I literally knew nothing (Or maybe less then nothing as people from Blick's had misdirected me) when I walked in the door and now my partners and I have started a clothing company specializing in t-shirts. Really disappointed in the outcome of customer service. Initially, my experience with Anthem started off great. I was under the impression that Edmond and I were in alignment with communication for my $650 order of pre-burned screens and other printing supplies. This was my first experience with screen printing and ordering screens, and was very clear that I needed assistance in choosing the correct mesh count. After several emails exchanged over a 2 week period, Edmond and I decided that a 160 mesh count was suitable for my needs. Upon placing my order through the website, the only mesh count available for selection was 200 or 230, which I selected and then included an additional note that I in fact needed a 160 mesh count and asked for someone to contact me to ensure we had everything correct. Phones were not being answered due to Covid which I completely understood. I never received a follow up phone call, but was hopeful that the detailed communication with Edmond would be passed along to whomever was filling the order. Fast forward about 4 weeks, having had issues with printing I had to hire a consultant to come out and help assess the problems I was running into. I was informed that the screens I had ordered from Anthem were in fact 200 and 230 mesh, and not the 160 mesh I was supposed to be receiving. Understanding this could have been a miscommunication and an oversight, I reached out to Edmond to see if we could rectify the situation and maybe meet somewhere in the middle... possibly offer a percentage of refund or screen replacement, seeing that there was such detailed communication on the front end, and no follow up from Edmond - who fulfilled the order himself and admitted to seeing the 200 mesh and (in quote) "my assumption was that the specifics of your project had changed." In my experience working in customer service, if you have been in communication with a customer about specifics on a large order, and you notice something wildly different than what you had initially discussed with the customer when they place their order, is it not basic knowledge to call and double check with the customer to verify if the new information was correct? ESPECIALLY if there was an additional note on the order asking to be contacted? The only thing that Edmond offered was to "troubleshoot printing issues" and this was basically my fault. To reiterate, the only drop down selections on the website when placing a pre-burned screen order were 200 and 230 mesh count, so I selected one, and added an additional note that this mesh count was not correct, and requested to be contacted. And this was still my fault and I now have to eat a $650 price tag? A dear friend with a very successful screen printing company who has used Anthem for years referred me to them, and I was burned pretty badly. I wasn't expecting a full refund, but rather to be met in the middle with some resolve of the situation. It saddens me to say that I will not be a return customer and neither will my friend; I was hopeful this would be a great professional relationship, but I was very wrong. read more

This review is for product sales and not Anthem's printing services. I have no experience with their printing service. I want to like these guys but they're a bit unprofessional. I had them order a screen for me and then they sold it to the next person that walked in that asked for that size, although I had repeatedly stopped in to see if it had arrived as I needed it for a project I was in the middle of. I tried ordering another screen via the website but this time they were changing vendors and it took a month to get the screen. So, if it's not in stock, don't bother, order it from somewhere online. I recently stopped in for emulsion, which they were out of and said that due to it's temperature sensitivity and it being shipped from the midwest during winter months, they were having a hard time getting it and decided to go with another brand that was from southern Cal but didn't have it in yet. So I gave them my contact info and ask the guy to call me as soon as it came in but what do you think happened? No call. For supplies, this place is fine if you are in a pinch but if they are out of stock, don't bother ordering with them. I think it just cuts into their PBR drinking time and can't be bothered to call you back. Just order it online from someone else. read more

I was panicking for a few months when my local guy told me that he couldn't do my waterproof film outputs anymore.
