View of part of the patio, the beautiful sky above and the reflection on the windows. Beautiful evening!

Lots of parking. We were a little disappointed that we weren't seated next to the windows, but we had an excellent experience regardless. The drinks were refreshing, the food was delicious, and the view was beautiful. The service was outstanding. We wanted for nothing.

The Chophouse was at its best tonight. Our lobster with Mac and cheese and the seafood special both compared favorably with our recent Florida meals. The smoked bourbon cocktail was fun and our peppermint ice cream with hot fudge was delicious. Matt took good care of us. The Chophouse remains one of our favorite special occasion restaurants.

Our first time here and it was absolutely amazing! The Ambiance was nice with a great view of the mountains and low lighting. Our waitress was very friendly and suggested a few items from the menu. Our food was prepared perfect, we both got the 14oz Ribeye with baked potato, caramelized carrots. Fresh hot rolls and fudge brownie with ice cream. We also got the oysters Rockefeller.

I really wanted a 5 star experience. Love the location of the tests with its elevated view of Tanglewood. So beautiful. Didn't need a reservation as it was not crowded at all, thank God. The staff, especially our waiter Ryan were fabulous. Romantic, classy atmosphere. Ordered the crab cakes. As you can see from the pics they came out messy and unappealing. They tasted the same. Too salty and mushy. Born in Tampa, raised in Alaska and live in Maryland. I don't play with my crab cakes. I expected better. The cheesecake had a powdery taste and not as decadent as it looked. The presentation was pretty. Lastly, the coffee came out like tea. Very watered down. The garlic potatoes was missing its richness somehow. (Outback's and Cheesecake Factory's mashed potatoes are way better for way less). The Brussels, albeit plain, and the mixed veggies were scrumptious.

We've been here several times this year and it's just so inconsistent. They do have really good food sometimes and other times you get served food that isn't edible. I think they've got their dinner mostly sorted out, but their brunch isn't where it needs to be for what they're charging. They never have enough servers. Today I was served a waffle that was burnt. I rarely send food back, and would have sent this back, but because there was only one waitress in the restaurant, she didn't come back until everyone else was done eating. Others at my table said their food at sat in the window for too long and gotten cold by the time it was brought to them. Just overall not great.

OTH Chophouse is located up on a hill that offers breathtaking views of the mountains. OTH offers indoor and outdoor dining, and I highly recommend coming here when the sun is setting because the views are beautiful. OTH offers a full service bar. You can order a cocktail off their menu or you can ask for your favorite drink. I had a lemon drop martini that was absolutely delicious. Everything was blended nicely and it was not too strong and not too sweet. It was the perfect balance. Next, I ordered their raw oysters and these are a must have! Every oyster was fresh and delicious. The waitress was very knowledgeable about where each oyster came from and how they tasted. Every time I had one, I kept wanting more and more. Next for my main course, I ordered their pan seared scallops. The scallops were seared to perfection and melted in my mouth. They were buttery and had a nice hit of lemon at the end. I paired it with their Brussel sprouts that were incredible. They had a nice charred to them with hints of maple bacon in every bite. Lastly, I had their creme brûlée and their raspberry sorbet. Dessert was my favorite part of the entire meal! The creme brûlée was absolutely incredible and it was not too sweet. The raspberry sorbet was a nice added touch and I was shocked by how much they gave me. Everything I ate at OTH Chophouse was absolutely delicious and I cannot wait to come back. OTH Chophouse is a great place to catch up with friends, family, or have a date night. They offer incredible food with incredible views. They are also extremely accommodating to any type of allergy. If you are in the area, I highly recommend coming here because you will be in for a treat.

Pretty dining room with nice overlook over the town. Food was delicious. Server was professional and pleasant. They forgot our salads otherwise it would be 5 star experience. The desserts were also very good and seemed fresh and made there.

Crab Cakes, greasy, too much filler.
    Charlotte W.

The $45. crab cakes sucked. They were greasy, the portion of filler to crab was disgraceful. It was something I would expect from a cafeteria style restaurant, not an upscale restaurant. I ordered a Key Martini, and wasn't impressed. I switched to Bud Light. The beer was cold! The crème brûlée was very good, the crab dip appetizer was good, our waiter was good, but the crab cakes were nasty. My advice: Get someone to teach you how to cook crab cakes and don't use filler instead of lump meat crab.

Founded in 2005 by Olivia and Rocky Byrd, this family-owned and operated fine-dining restaurant was established to bring a high-end yet relaxed seafood and wine dining experience to this area. It offers a seasonal menu and an extensive wine list of over 270 selections. After being ranked 4th among Yelp's Top 50 Most Prolific Elites of 2025, a distinction recognizing my consistent community engagement and high-quality contributions, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants, businesses, and establishments, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to go back and write follow-up reviews on those places that impressed me the most during 2025, and Rockfish Food & Wine located in the heart of Grandin Village, one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example of one of them. After making a 5 o'clock reservation on the Toast platform from the restaurant's website, I did some errands and then proceeded to drive to the restaurant located at 1402 Grandin Road. (This is considered the Main Street of this neighborhood) The restaurant's building is located next to a small 7-Eleven, and doesn't have parking, but I found plenty of on-street parking spaces good for an hour or in some cases two, and free after 5 o'clock. I picked one of them and parked my pearl white Lexus there. When I entered the restaurant, a young, elegant lady greeted and welcomed me behind the Host's station. Soon after she took me to the requested booth, I found out her name was Kayla and she would be my server. While I was reviewing the menu, she brought me a carafe of cold water with a glass, and a small dish with slices of a baguette and butter. She then took my order. To drink, besides the water, I ordered a Strawberry Fields Mocktail. It had just the right taste and was brought to my table by the bartender herself. To dine I started off with a Crispy Oysters appetizer which was delicious. Followed by a Dinner Mixed Green Salad, which was one of the most delicious salads I've ever had at a restaurant. It had many ingredients and tasted amazingly delicious. For my main entrée I had their Ribeye Filet Au Poivre median rare. It came served with roasted mushrooms, green beans, and cheesy mashed potatoes, and was cooked medium-rare just as I ordered it. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the high-quality food. My server provided exceptional customer service, filling my glass with water, and pointing me out the restaurant's owner who was an elegantly dressed, distinguish looking lady with lots of charm and a great personality, who had moved here with her husband and co-owner from California's central coast with a vision of creating a fine-dining restaurant which they felt the local area needed. I also found out through my server that every Thursday the restaurant had live Jazz music to a full house audience, and I would need to make reservations early. Seated at the table next to mine were a distinguished looking couple which I established conversation with and found out that the lady was Dr. Laura Treanor, the fifth president of Virginia Western Community College, who began her term on July 1, 2025. She had succeeded Dr. Robert "Bobby" Sandel, who retired after over two decades of service, and is leading the college with a focus on institutional effectiveness, instructional quality, and student success. For dessert I had their Vanilla Cheesecake with mixed berry sauce, which had missing the fresh berries described on the menu. I had just had such an extraordinary dining experience that I didn't even mention it. Before leaving and after paying the bill with my Harvard Alumni World Mastercard, I had the opportunity of meeting the founder and co-owner of the restaurant, Olivia, and thanking her and her husband for such a wonderful dining experience I had today and always whenever I dine there.

Atmosphere is both high-end and casual at the same time, and the drink drinks she makes aren't lite on the pours. I absolutely plan to go back! They host live music quite often and it's a nice place to go. Listen to some music knock back a couple cocktails and have a great meal. Oh! And the charcuterie board was amazing!

I ordered the On The Fluer cocktail, the olives, focaccia, yellowtail carpaccio, potatoes, carrots and Chicken Cordon Bleu. My partner's cocktail of choice was the taxman. The olives unexpectedly nutty and warm, the focaccia perfectly crispy on the outside pairing beautifully with balsamic and olive oil. The stand out for us were the potatoes served with an aioli. I believe the top note was paprika but couldn't place the other flavors - my date was excitedly recommending the dish to all nearby tables. We considered ordering a second one but for small plates the sizes were generous and we were satisfied. We rounded out our dinner with a buttered rum drink, which nearly had the consistency of crème brûlée. Everything had been so gorgeously prepared that I regret not being the kind of person who likes to take pictures of food. Cannot recommend enough for a special event or date night. Real gem here.

I arrived at the restaurant on time at five o'clock sharp and as I waited for them to open I had an opportunity to meet and chat with a couple who had been loyal customers of this restaurant for years since it first opened. As soon as the doors opened, I allowed them to enter first and then when the host came back she gave me a warm and friendly greeting, welcoming me back, and took me to an ideal table, where I had a perfect view of the entire restaurant, from their open kitchen, to their bar, to the entire dining room and entrance, allowing me to capture in photographs the real feel of the ambiance of this cozy, yet elegant, upscale Southern, New-American restaurant known for its scratch-made dishes using locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients, including house-cured meats and pickled vegetables, as well as very creative cocktails. Shortly after I was seated, my delightful server Caroline arrived, and after a warm greeting took my order. To drink I order their Strawberry Fields Forever Mocktail.
