I came in with big hopes and feel torn about this review. I think the issue is there are so many unique and amazing restaurants within walking distance in downtown Roanoke that my expectations are HIGH. The dining area is an interesting mix out copper table tops, wood chairs, and exposed brick walls. Character. I had a pineapple upside down cake cocktail. It was yummy But it was filled with tiny ice slithers that made it difficult to drink without choking on ice until the slithers melted. I always appreciate a good Luxor . The food was fine... I was just hoping to be awed. I had the grilled salmon was looking, for medium but it was definitely well done. It was will seasoned and I was hungry, so none went to waste, lol. I was just hoping for something special. The veggie side was small and basic but well seasoned and the potatoes were also well seasoned but missing the Chicago butter sauce advertised. Instead it had a tiny smear of what I'm assuming was cocktail sauce. I tried the cheesecake bread pudding which was their bread pudding of the day. Overall it was good. I wouldn't have minded more cream cheese and was kind of disappointed the strawberries came out with the leaves still attached. At this price point, I don't want to have to remove things on my own. My server was great, she was training someone new but still managed to be perfectly attentive without being over bearing. With Sidecar and Stock so close by, it takes a peak performance to get me to repeat a restaurant stop when I'm in town for work. This was a solid 4 today but there are 5 star worthy places that have my attention. read more

In Roanoke for a project my office is doing. Walked by this place several times and this time decided to stop in. Great place with a amazing wine selection. The service was spoI ordered shared scallops and sweet potato gnocchi. The gnocchi was fantastic, it should be an entree. The scallops were delicious but as an appetizer i thought it was small. Table 50 is located in an old building wood floors, brick wall, tin ceiling, exposed pipes and ductwork as an architect I love the interiors. On a Monday night, Table 50 is packed with patrons, it is quite loud in here is my only complaint. I will be back to try their southern fried buttermilk chicken breast. read more

Few are the fine dining restaurants that stand out as such, and Table 50 is one of them. Exquisite food, Devine ambiance, and Extraordinary service. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that it would be appropriate this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, to go back to this restaurant and write a follow-up review, since my initial reviews were some of my reviews that contributed to me obtaining this highly esteemed Award. It is not always that one celebrates the special occasion of ones Birthday, but when it arrives there is nothing I enjoy more than having a nice meal at a fine dining restaurant. And this year I choose Table 50 as one of the restaurants where I would go to celebrate this special occasion. One of the reasons that I chose it was because after reviewing online photos of many restaurants, I noticed that Table 50 stood out by having photos of Happy Birthday desserts online. Desserts on a large white plate with the words "Happy Birthday!" written in Chocolate syrup on the rim of the plate and a candle on the dessert itself. I always have admired this restaurant's attention to detail as well and how they welcome constructive feedback and take action to become better and better everyday. When I arrived after making my reservation, the Host gave me a warm welcome and took me to the perfect table, just as the one I had requested on my reservation for this special occasion. It didn't take long for my server Allyessa, to arrive and greet me. She was friendly and knowledgeable and had class with style. I asked if she could have the bartender make me a Mocktail of a Margarita, and she immediately did and bought it out. Then she took my order. For starters I had the Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops. As my main course, I had the Special of the Day, The Filet Bienville cooked medium rare, with Fried Oysters, Mashed Potatoes, and Asparagus. Everything was amazingly delicious, and the Filet was cooked medium rare to perfection. She came back to see how I was doing and fill my glass of water at the appropriate times. Then the time for the Grand Finale Birthday Dessert arrived. She brought me the dessert menu and asked me to pick one. I picked the Milk Chocolate Mousse Tort, which by the way has become one of my favorite desserts of all times. Some time went by and then she.comes with a large white plate with the words Happy Birthday! written on its rim with chocolate syrup and a lit candle on top of the dessert. What a pleasant surprise! It is for wonderful dining experiences like this one that I enthusiastically highly recommend this restaurant and am certain that you will have one of the best fine dining experience of your life. read more

This is my third meal at Table 50 and I was surprised to have had such a disappointing meal. I travel to Roanoke a few times a year for work and was looking forward to a dining experience. I made a reservation on Open Table and requested not being seated at the bar and that was exactly where I was seated. My Old Fashioned was just Maker's on the rocks. There was nothing special about the beet salad with vinaigrette, my pesto was lacking in flavor and the pasta was poorly cooked. The bread pudding was microwaved too hot and again, nothing special. My previous two meals were a pleasure and full of flavor. Was it because it was a Monday? Was the Chef off?? Table 50 used to be one of my favorite restaurants. So much so that my wife chose it to celebrate our 28th anniversary with our son. The night started off great, hostesses were wonderful as usual. Appetizer came out quickly, sweet potato gnocchi, and they were fantastic. Then nothing. No one came to the table for 20 minutes until one of the hostesses saw me looking over. She was kind enough to clear the table and refill our drinks. Another 10 minutes our waitress finally came over to see if we needed anything, but hostess already took care of us. That's when the attitude started. The food came out, longer than usually. My wife had the sausage pasta which she always loves, my son the shrimp and scallop pasta which was good and I ordered the duck. That's when everything fell apart. As soon as the plate was put in front of me I nose something was wrong. The duck was cooked medium well, medium at best almost no pink in the middle. It is supposed to be medium rare with red in the center and warm on the outside. I decided to let it go and took a bite. Very little flavor but even worse the duck was room temp while the risotto was red hot. I pushed the plate away and sat back. By the time the waitress finally came over my son and wife were almost done their meal, she asked if something was wrong and I explained. She did not apologize but did asked if I wanted something else. I stated no because by the time my milk came out my family would be done eating, so what was the point. She also asked me if she wanted me to remake the duck I stated the same thing. With that the attitude completely kicked in and she said whatever and walked off. When she finally came back with the check, I explained to her it is not her fault and I'm not upset with her. It's the kitchen issue she went on to immediately tell me that she was the general manager and she tried to rectify the situation and I couldn't have been made happy so why should she try. Now my wife is upset. A man purchased the table fairly hot and he goes. Is there a problem here and with my voice slightly raised I said yes and he yelled at me so don't start yelling at me. I calm myself and explain to him and he asked him if he was the owner. He stated he was and I walked him through the entire situation response I got was well she's frustrated. Not a sorry not what can we do for you? The next thing he said is can I take the check for you so I handed the bill with my credit card And I get it back with no credit nothing not for the duck not for the port treatment not a single sorry, nothing. At this point, my wife is crying, my son is pissed off, our night is ruined, and our anniversary is ruined all because two people lost sight of what's the most important thing and that's customer service to be nice and try to accompany your customers. What's most disappointing is again this was our favorite restaurant in Roanoke. I've been there at least a half dozen times in the 18 months we've lived here But unfortunately, we will never go back for multiple reasons. First for the prices I'm not gonna spend that type of money and be treated that way in second I'm sure they wouldn't ever welcome us back. Special occasion dinner - I splurged on the $42 Filet mignon. Asked for medium rare, specified no blood on plate. When I cut into it on the edge, blood ran out.Raw inside. I put down my fork, when server asked, I said it's too rare. Server returned it to "chef." Returned pretty quickly, I cut into it, still raw. Server offered to take it back again and I said " no, thanks. I'll take it home and cook it. We celebrated our 20th anniversary last night at Table 50. Started with a pimento cheese app. I'm extremely allergic to fish & seafood so I asked about the deep fried crackers that came with it. Our waitress said they were fried in the same oil as the oysters, so I asked if we could substitute bread. They were happy to accommodate us! It was delicious! We were amused that the slices of bread they served were heart shaped! I ordered a mushroom burger and they let me substitute mashed potatoes (fries are fried in the same oil as seafood). It was just slightly undercooked but tasted amazing!! Husband had ordered a crab cake sandwich, but she did not hear the "sandwich" and brought the crab cake meal. He was so happy for that mistake because he said it was the best meal he's had out in a long time. I think it was served with spiralized zucchini and grits, he loved it! We finished with the chocolate mousse torte, and the Creme brûlée desserts. Both were fabulous! So delicious that we ate every bite and were tempted to order a torte to take home! The restaurant was very clean, staff extremely friendly and attentive, the decor and ambiance were great! We're visiting Roanoke and Table 50 was recommended by a local store owner. For starters we had the x-rated lemon drop and red sangria. Both were delicious. The lemon drop was not real sweet which I loved. We tried the scallop appetizer and it was the best thing we ate here. We soaked up all the delicious goodness with the free bread and honey butter. We would've loved this over pasta as an entree. For dinner we both decided to try the crab cake sandwich. It was good but not stellar hence the four stars. The French fries were good and hot. Last night was my first visit. The food was absolutely AMAZING !!! The server did a great job as well. She didn't worry us to death, which is a key point for me. The hostess had a smile on her face, was very friendly and even put our wet umbrellas away We started with the sweet potato gnacci appetizer and that was delicious and served quickly. For our entrees, my girlfriend had a shrimp & scallop pasta dish that was delicious. I had the blackened ahi tuna. Mine was cooked to perfection and so full of flavor. We didn't have room for desert. If it was socially acceptable, I would've licked the plates. From start to finish, the evening was perfect. Thank you to Mike and his entire staff. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The food...the majority of my food was great, except for the special (which was a ribeye, mashed potatoes with some sauce, and asparagus). Everything was good except the ribeye. While in Roanoke, some local friends recommended that we get together for dinner here. As their dining habits are suspect, I checked it out on Yelp before committing. When I saw my Yelp! brother Steph B. rated this place five stars, I knew that it would be fine as I trust his ratings. My friends and I had a table in the corner and our server Monica took excellent care of us. Cocktails were pretty good and we had enough time to have a drink and catch up before ordering food. We started with some hot crab dip which was really, really delicious. They served it with a small portion of bread but we were able to request more...otherwise, I would have just been ladling soup spoons full of the dip into my mouth. I had the ribeye for dinner and it was really nice. Flavorful and well grilled, it was the perfect size. For dessert, I had some type of chocolate mousse type cake with an Oreo crust that I scarfed down in about 30 seconds flat. It was really good. The vibe of the place is lively and as I mentioned, the service is nice. We had an early reservation but by the time we finished, the place was full and it can get a little loud. I liked the fact that the food was so good and the feeling was upscale without being pretentious. The fact that it was crawling distance to my hotel also helped. Nice date night at Table 50. We had a gift card and decided to try this restaurant. Good service and yummy food. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. Liked the crab dip appetizer but could have done without the cheese topping. My husband had shrimp and grits. It was ok but we are from the Carolinas so it was not Charleston worthy. For dessert we chose the crème brûlée and bread pudding. The brûlée was great but the bread pudding came out at bacon and cheddar. The server didn't realize and allowed us to return. I stumbled on this restaurant I saw outside the hotel I was staying in downtown Roanoke Virginia on The Market. The menu hasn't changed much over the 15 years at this location. The menu leans towards Cajun but you would not know it by looking at the menu. The menu feels more of seafood but has a lot of opportunities for alternate dishes with pastas and salads and soups. One dish, under pastas that caught my eye was the Beef Stroganoff over pasta. They actually developed this and sold a lot of this dish due to Covid last year in 2020. I recommend this restaurant to anybody coming to Roanoke Virginia as it is outstanding food with outstanding flavor and great service! read more

What a great experience. Perfect place to celebrate or just to have a great dinner with great service. From the time I entered the door until I left I felt like I was treated like somebody important lol thanks to the staff. The entrees and appetizers had amazing flavor and presentation but I must admit the blacked ahi tuna was some of the best that I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and order it. You can't go wrong. This restaurant was one of the few places we could get a reservation, last minute, on the Friday night before Halloween. They weren't allowing walk-ins, due to limited seating and required reservations only. Boy, I'm glad we got a reservation. We had the crab dip as an app which was delicious. I order the shrimp and grits and etoufee and really enjoyed everything. I ordered a red sangria which was think and too sugary. Just ok. But the food was wow.
