One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The ravioli was amazing. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked. We also had the brussel sprouts, the yummy dop salad, the fava bean puree was soooo good, the burrata was good but not our favorite item. Legit 5 stars in Eugene I will say coming with a group larger than 2 is not really desirable, you could probably manage 4 but not more. Meatballs, umm yeah super tasty. Came out really quick for an app. Pizza choices were limited in the meat department but awesome. Not sure I'm a fan of cutting with scissors but I guess it adds to the experience? Rigatoni was perfectly cooked, Al dente and great flavor/ingredients. Watching them cook my meal across the butcher block table was awesome. Perfect spot for a date night. We arrived 10 minutes before opening at this small restaurant and found 18 people ahead of us on a warm Friday evening. We were lucky to get stools at the chef's table, a kitchen bar really, with a great view of the work. Ordering is entirely automated using your own cell phone with the exception of asking that breadcrumbs be omitted from our salad. The six small courses we shared were prepared as we watched. The food was flavorful and authentically represented Italy and made with fresh local ingredients just a a good Italian chef in Italy would. I was especially fond of the cannelloni filed with wonderfully prepared braised lamb, but all the dishes were excellent. Next time we will order less so that we can try the deserts. The couple sitting next to us ordered a pizza and two colorful drinks and were seated less than half an hour. The pizza looked fabulous as did the wood-fired pizza oven we saw as we left. We are extremely lucky to have this business in Eugene. This is the best restaurant in town in my opinion. I've been going to the food truck for a while and consistently impressed by the best pizza I've ever had (including some with sourdough crust), delectable salads, zeppoli, everything made with care and expertise. DOP stands for "Denominazione d' Origine Protetta," a label used on food products that denotes quality ingredients from a specific region. It is a fitting name, as everything here tastes special, made with the most flavorful ingredients and seasoned just right--but simple and understated, as Italian food should be. The white bean purée is a delicious appetizer (and vegan), arancini make you feel like you're roaming Rome, gnocchi sauce is a tomatoverse that makes you just want to melt, beet raviolis with that bright pop of fresh ingredients, subtle, light, fresh pana cotta for dessert, and of course every single pizza is a masterpiece... going on and on about the food feels kind of silly, because the main thing to know is that it is next level without being even remotely pretentious. Seating is limited and it's hard to get a table, but there are lots of spaces along a side bar, a clever use of the space. Open kitchen lets you observe the chefs at work. How did Eugene get so lucky? Update: vegetarian pro tip: Make sure to click on the menu item when using the online ordering system and review all the ingredients. Some of the pizzas do have meat on them but it's the last ingredient listed, so you have to look carefully, not just first glance from the menu. Also, the donuts are divine. read more

I always love trying out new restaurants and if they hit the spot, I will return. Unfortunately, these folks really missed the mark for us - my husband and myself. The first turnoff is that you are instructed to sit at a numbered spot, use your phone for the QR menu and then come back and order. Well, this doesn't work for us. We like to sit down, read a menu and actually have table service. Not too old fashioned, are we? So, that meant the cash register person rather begrudgingly read us from her computer screen what was not on the written menu (a brief one that is available at the cash register). Try to remember all of that info! I get it, there are continuing changes with specials and management prefers not to reprint daily or weekly or whatever the time frame for menu changes might be. I do get that! However, this made, for us, an unfriendly, non service-oriented evening. We don't enjoy using technology to order our food. Maybe other folks love it, just not us. We also like a server to check in to make sure our food is okay. Not just drop it off and walk away never to be seen again. As it was, the salad we ordered somehow was overlooked and we either had to go back up to the register to speak to the register person, or grab the attention of the server who dropped our main meal off. Just not our cup of tea, so to speak. The wine was tasty, though we were not told we could order a bottle versus a glass and selection was limited to three, maybe four reds, and not sure how many whites. But red goes with Italian food for us. Then you have the decor/seating arrangements. We could see that the goal was maximum use of space, but this has resulted in a very yucky layout. By far, the ideal seats are at the bar viewing the chefs. Of course, that space was full. The majority of the remaining seating is along thin bars, stool seating facing, you guess - a large QR with your seat number. WOW! I have become a number for my dining pleasure. Very warm and cuddly. Then we have the food. Let's just say, there is potential there but the cooks need to have other arrows in their quiver besides SALT!!!!! Will we go back, maybe! We'll give them some more time to settle in. The next time we'll probably use our phone for the QR. read more

Traditional table seating is limited as most of the house is bar style seating. The menu has a sold core of old favorites and a constant rotation of creative seasonal dishes. Bar offerings are limited to wine, beer and Italian based aperitif and digestifs. Menu and payment is done via QR code so you will miss the ability to easily modify your dish. It seems too crowded to be able to enjoy a dinner out. Although there were some seats available, they were facing a wall just a few inches from your face. I just couldn't do that, so we sat outside and just got a couple of overpriced appetizers. A lot of people love this place and I'm happy for them. We showed up without a reservation and although grateful they found us a seat, it was an unappealing seat. I don't know if there are better pickings with a reservation, but we took what we could get. It was a very narrow "bar" facing what appeared to be an extremely dirty wall. Service was pretty nonexistent. You get your own water, order with an ap, etc. The problem (for me anyway) with ordering on an ap is the timing of the meal. I guess maybe you are supposed to spread out the ordering (drinks, appetizers, salads, main course, dessert) but what a pain! We entered everything at once and well, received it all very quickly. Our little bar space did not have room, and it was a bit awkward. I thought the food, for the most part was pretty decent. Nothing really stood out to me though. But nothing was bad. Hubs thought the salad was the star of the meal. I guess I thought the gnocchi was pretty good. However, mostly the food was not super memorable. I guess I give the whole experience a meh? I'd probably go back if someone else wanted to try it, and maybe give the pizza a chance, but it's certainly not going to come to mind as a place I really need to get back to for anything that we tried. read more
