Osteria Alfredo It's still called Osteria Alfredo. It's still at 210 Marlboro, between the Acme and the arched movie theater entrance. Like me, you may have heard this restaurant has a new owner. It does: Anthony Guessregen. Some people have announced they've heard negatives or they're so reluctant to deal with changes to what they're used to, that they won't even try it. They are mistaken. Please pay them no mind! I've been there twice in the past week, and I feel as at home with Anthony there as I did with Alfredo. The menu is different (of course!) and, as before, there are many tempting items to choose from: try the calamari; try the swordfish, or the avocado and shrimp salad, or a loaded burger! All items on the dessert menu sound close to irresistible -- except I forgot to leave "space" for one. I'll learn how to, for sure! There are now tablecloths throughout during lunch as well as dinner. The atmosphere is perfect for your clients or your friends. I highly recommend Osteria Alfredo Restaurant, though in my mind it's already Osteria Anthony. I'll be going back there again very soon! read more

Great food and wonderful selection of wine and dessert. Where can you buy a bottle of wine for under $30 for a full bottle of good Italian wine. He imports a pistachio cake that is out of this world. He does fresh fish better than anyone! The prices are affordable and more than reasonable. Friendly staff and happy. Great job all around. Solid great go to local restaurant when you have already had you fill of crabs and want something different. Note no red sauce pasta , this is more of a refined northern Italian. Kudos! read more

The ambience is great but unfortunately the food is not. We were hopeful when we saw the chef engrossed in a conversation with a couple at the next table in Italian. The bread and butter was cold. We were told oil was only served upon request and arrived with little seasoning. The calamari was good but the sauce that came with it had no flavor. The pasta and shrimp were overcooked and came with the same tasteless sauce. The fish was also overcooked and coated with the same sauce. Neither of us finished our meal, which didn't seem to phase the waitress. We could have had much better food at Olive Garden for a much lower price. read more

Wowza the eggplant ! The eggplant! Not greasy , gooey, saucy or soggy... absolutely amazing not over sauced or over cheesed. I loved the fresh pasta. A trifecta of simple ingredients eggplant, red sauce , and cheese. The layering was the key to this awesome texture and flavor. Awesome warm bread... Osteria has the best Italian food in Easton. Like your own living room. The chef owns the place. The waitresses have been there for years. Everything works well.

What a hidden gem! We tried this on a Monday night around 6:15 in early May and had no difficulty getting in. White tableclothes, table lamp and excellent service providess a lovely atmosphere. Husband and I had the specials....cheese tortellini in mushroom sauce and a linguine like noodle in a pink sauce with prosciutto. Additionally husband had the minestone... also a specialty for the evening and I had the ceasar salad. All were excellent. We also had tiramisu and chocolate mouse cake which were delicious and very doable serving sizes. Add a glass of wine and our total bill was $75. A steal in comparison to many. I love Osteria and have been there dozens of times over the years w my family. The concept of family owned with the owner in the kitchen and their way of doing things have resonated with me always. My visit recently was disappointing unfortunately. Our party arrived to a full house that night and we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was friendly, prompt and helpful all evening. The disappointment was the food. Nothing was served piping hot. Not even warm. Some items were room temperature or lower. The food for the most part lacked flavor and spicing. The sides to fish entrees was truly pathetic and I thought embarrassing to serve. My pasta special lacked in every way and seemed one dimensional and needed additional elements. Not even close to average. We are a family that shares food w each other so I sampled most items on the table and everything was this way. I hope this was just a bad night and a one off but I will need to rethink my next visit. read more

Very disappointing. The positive- our server was very friendly and attentive. Cute little place, but outdated. Def a place for an older regular crowd. Sadly, the food was disappointing (even the couple of hard toasted pieces of bread). We had the mussels special, which were large, but flavor was very fishy and watery broth completely lacked depth and flavor. Veal parm was very small, lacked flavor as well and the marinara sauce was under-seasoned and very watery. Pasta bolognese also lacked flavor, was very dry and pasta for both dishes was overcooked. Lastly, found it quite rude to hear kitchen and wait staff yelling comments re my order change, our not having a reservation and asking for a table away from kitchen doorway. read more

I am sorry to see low ratings for this place as we felt it is an incredible find-from the wonderful service, to the relaxing ambiance, to the terrific food. This was our first time and we were most pleased that the owner/chef (I'm assuming) came over to greet us and tell us about his specials. We had to try the Goulash that takes hours to cook and it did not disappoint. It was perfection on a plate! I have been in search of great Chicken Parm for years now and even the high end Ristorante in OCMD let me down. This was exactly what I've been hoping for: crispy chicken with juicy meat inside under a layer of top end mozzarella and red sauce. I had a good feeling even before it came out when I heard the chef pounding it in the kitchen...no frozen Sysco junk here! I really wanted to like this place because it's convenient. However it was not an enjoyable meal. The food was tasteless cold and not cooked properly. I very rarely give up reviews this poor. However in today's world with the costs that we pay and time involved to go out with your family to enjoy the evening out and then have a great meal I feel it is our duties to help educate others on where they should go to spend their hard-earned money. Went with friends and had a phenomenal experience. Osteria Alfredo has been in business for 13yrs and I see why. Exceptional service, great wine selection and the food is just magic. Walked in at 5pm to empty restaurant on Valentines Day without reservation. Got a flat out no so we sat at bar. Hostess was a witchy woman unwilling to give a table. Place was half empty the entire time we were there. She turned away 3 more couples who walked in while we were eating. Guess they don't need the business. We left an hour later and place was still half empty. Don't get the lasagna it's very disappointing. Chef and wait staff are nice. Last time we go there. Every time I visit Easton, I have to stop by my favorite spot Osteria Alfredo! By far the best authentic Italian food. My husband does not eat Italian food, except when he visits Easton, we come here every night while visiting!! I have eaten there twice now once for lunch and once for dinner. While their food is good their portions are so skimpy. For lunch I ordered eggplant parmigiana and they literally cut a piece in half. It was no more than three inches by three inches along with a very small serving of pasta. I spent $20 for a meal and left hungry. They also have no wine selection which for an Italian restaurant is disappointing. I won't be going back. read more

I should start by saying that during Covid and take-out only, perhaps the food quality has not been representative of their usual standards. Having said that, I must say that the dinner we took out from this place was truly terrible. Salads were skimpy and sloppily prepared, and the entrees were severely compromised: one, the Tuscan chicken was OK (maybe 3-stars worthy) but the lasagna was the worst I've ever had at a restaurant. The only fair comparison would be a frozen dinner from the supermarket. Within that frame of reference, it would embarrass the purveyors of the better frozen lasagnas. Maybe when Covid is over, and we can actually eat in a restaurant, this place will have its act together. But for a take-out dinner, caveat emptor in spades. read more

Always a wonderful experience. Excellent food doesn't have to be pretentious or super expensive...Alfredo's exemplifies this. Everything from the regular menu items to the exciting specials are always fantastic. Service is great (yeah, sometimes the place is packed and it drags a little but doesn't happen often.) Eggplant Parm is by far the best I've ever had. Pastas are cooked well...full of body and never the big mush you get at an Olive Garden. Sauces are dynamic and delicious. Meat and seafood is always fresh and ample. Alfredo has the interior "window" to the kitchen open to the entrance and greets (as well as give goodbyes) to everyone that stops by. Wow! We made a reservation and were seated right away, not too busy for a Monday but the atmosphere was perfect for a business dinner setting. Myself and 1 other ordered the Meat Lasagna, but they were out of it. Alfredo himself recommended a baked ziti type meal but I forget what it was called. It was sooo delicious. Osteria Alfredo is a fantastic restaurant, which is VERY hard to find in Easton. I came across to this town through work and boy is it hard to find a good restaurant. I tried this place through a business client. I ordered the lasagna and it was EXCELLENT. After 6 months, I tried Osteria Alfredo again and I was not disappointed (I actually went 3 times in a week for lunch at one point! But then, there are not that many pleasing restaurants in the area...) The bread here is pretty good too, but I'm not sure if they craft their own or get it already baked, but it's good nonetheless. The service is ALRIGHT - bearable. The prices are very reasonal and as mentioned, the food is good. Went out here with a friend, and was a bit unsure how the outcome was going to be, just because the previous restaurants that have been in that location were usually just...eh. But I was wrong, everything was delicious. I had spaghetti with mozzarella which was delicious! The plating could've been a bit more interesting, seemed like they just plopped everything on there, and the prices weren't super high. Definitely a nice place to go for a fun night out. read more

Went for dinner after reading positive reviews. We had made a reservation but they did not have it. Host made a point of this and seemed slightly reluctant to sit us. But even with social distancing restaurant never got busy so not sure why the delay in seating us. After hearing specials, 2 in our party of 3 ordered the same entree off the menu only later to be told they were out of the item. It was only 6 pm so seemed like e real miss that server had not informed us prior to taking order. Special of thinly sliced flank steak seemed like an incomplete dish and was just average. Veal Marsala and spaghetti with seafood was excellent, as was chocolate temptation dessert. Tiramisu was watery and creme brûlée was god but not excellent. Not sure we caught them on their best night but will try again. read more

Lovely place we stopped at on our way to Baltimore. Friendly service and seems like a locals place. Started with warm crusty bread and butter. Ordered bruschetta which was a miss but rest of meal was delicious. Bruschetta with too much raw garlic and overpowering olive oil. I had flounder with spinach which was fresh, light and yummy. Rest of my kids had pasta which was overall thumbs up( penne alla vodka, spaghetti with clams and spaghetti with meatballs). Tiramisu made in house but we got the lemon torte which was excellent. If I could give this restaurant a 0 star I would. We ordered and my pasta was crunchy, I tried to get the attention of the waitress or owner. I waited all the way till my family had finished their dinner. I finally went to the kitchen and handed it to the waitress said the noodles are crunchy and my family finished, please give use the check. On the way out the owner said goodnight and i went to tell her about the noodles and the owner said "don't come back we have plenty of customers " I was shocked and walked out. A few other issues, my daughter ordered noodles and chicken the chicken was what we call "rubber chicken" tough and icky. My husband enjoyed his meal but the portion was tiny. We eat out almost every night, and there are much better options in Easton. Will never set foot in this restaurant again. This is my 1st review the restaurant was that bad. read more

Located in a strip mall, but found the inside to be warm and inviting. Our waitress was nice, a little hard to understand and a little odd. We picked a bottle of wine and thought we would have a leisurely dinner. The Food was awesome, the wine pretty good...but on a Tuesday night, we were rushed. So much so it was ridiculous. We were asked three times if we wanted our check. Then finally, we chugged our wine, paid our tab and left. We were there less than an hour. The posted hours said they were open until 10, but it was 7:45 pm. Not sure if I would return. The food was really good though. read more

I've been to Osteria Alfredo a number of times and thoroughly enjoyed my meal but this review is specific to my experience with hosting a private event there. We hosted a rehearsal dinner at Osteria Alfredo for 75 people and the experience could not have been better. Alfredo closed the restaurant and worked with us to create a custom 4 course menu. Wine was included and the staff and food were exceptional. All of this was provided for a VERY reasonable price. If you are looking to host a wonderful large dinner in Easton and are on somewhat limited budget, you must go see Alfredo! I cannot recommend it enough! read more

The food and ambiance in this tiny, quaint little Italian restaurant (tucked away in a very unlikely location!) is absolutely to die fore... but the service definitely left a little bit to be desired. As a server in a fine dining establishment, I was appalled when the server repeated the wine list by saying "we have...um.... a red... and ... um...." and when I asked if they had Chianti, she asked if it was red or white! Still, the food was great and the atmosphere is simply perfect for a nice conversation. With someone a little more skilled in service, this place would be absolutely perfect! read more

Prior to tonight, Osteria was my favorite restaurant in Easton. Due to the treatment received from server Susan (who we have each time we dine at Osteria, at least monthly), the laughable quality of food, and the overall experience I had, I will no longer be dining at this establishment. This is disappointing, especially given my many recommendations of this establishment to many friends and colleagues. Prior to tonight, I had even considered Osteria as a place to hold a rehearsal dinner, so happy was I with all the restaurant offered. To make clear, reservations this evening were not limited to particular limits on time, so the rushed experience was totally unexpected. In fact, when making the reservations we had, we specifically asked if we would be limited in our time at the table and were told this would not be the case. The low-lights of the experience were placing orders for appetizers and being told we were not allowed to enter this order until entrees were also selected, receiving our appetizers and being told to hurry because our entrees were also prepared, and asking about dessert only to be told that dessert might not be possible due to others seeking tables. Mind you, this was on a bill of approximately $200. Not only was this treatment unbelievable, but the manner in which these communications were delivered was terse, hurtful, and unexpected. The food was subpar, as well. Chicken piccata was delivered with a boiled piece of meat, neither pounded nor breaded, as an example. We chose Osteria for our meal this evening because it has become our family's favorite. Just last evening I bragged about Susan's ability as a server while dining at a fine steakhouse. To be treated in the manner I was this evening stings. Think long and hard about spending time and money on an establishment that treats its customers as we were tonight. read more
