We stopped in for an early anniversary dinner ..loved the vibe from the minute we stepped in . The hostess was amazing we were seated right away ..the menu is wonderful and the food was delish . We had the chicken sandwich and the lemon chicken thighs. I couldn't decide between the chicken sandwich or the black garlic Caesar Salad and the server suggested the sand with a side of the salad .I was a happy camper . Wonderfully beautiful restaurant with lackluster food. We dined the day after Mother's Day so several menu items were not available, which is understandable. After reviewing the menu I was left a bit confused by the lack of Spanish options. I found this place a little pricey for the mediocre food. My boyfriend got the Mac and cheese and I had the falafel both I can say I make better at home. Falafel was really dry and Mac and cheese was basic. Atmosphere was good and no problems with service but left feeling slightly disappointed. I'll also add we were here on a Friday during Oktoberfest so there was no wait but the waitress mentioned to us that you usually need a reservation. read more

This is possibly the best restaurant in Silverton or Oregon for that matter. We were greeted very quickly. The seating was comfortable and the restaurant was wonderfully decorated. It's got a cool vibe with great music that isn't too loud. They've got some decent selections of beer, cocktails, and wine. I had the Mexican Lager brewed locally and an old fashioned that didn't disappoint. My wife had the tea which was fresh. The food is absolutely amazing here. We started off with the honey glazed carrots over whipped feta, which really provides an explosion of flavors. The carrots had great texture, sweet and a little spicy, but not too overwhelming. This alone is worth coming to the restaurant for. We had the empanada appetizer as well, which was flaky and packed with flavor inside. My wife had the Greek meatball plate and that was amazing as well with a fresh Greek salad, three meatball patties and rice. The rice was good, but pale in comparison to the other two items. I ordered the lamb tacos, which were some of the best tacos I've ever had. The meat was flavorful and extremely tender and also served in the taco is Montego cheese. Delicious! It came with chips and avocado salsa. The food was so amazing that we didn't want to stop! So we ordered the churros with chocolate sauce. This was served hot and it did not disappoint. Great texture. Not too soft or hard. Couple things about this place. The food came out fresh and hot, not lukewarm or kinda hot. They checked on us often and provided great information about the food. The silverware and plates were all clean. I'm pretty picky and a dirty spoon can sometimes ruin an experience for me. Last, they had some great deals on wine and a special they were running. They were happy to take some time finding out what I liked and then making some recommendations. This was the highlight of our trip to the Oregon Garden resort. This is not the restaurant that you want to go to if you want a burger and fries. But if someone in your group is one of those, they have that too. I'm sure it's good and they will enjoy it just like you'll enjoy your amazing food possibly with Marvin Gaye playing in the background. read more

Sometimes I dream of opening my own restaurant. I've thought a lot about it: from the menu to the ambience and location...it's a fun day dream. Then on a recent trip, I ate at Oso and I was like, this!! If I do have a restaurant one day, it will be just like this! The owners have done an amazing job. It's a creative and delicious menu, the atmosphere is the right amount of modern and eclectic, but also so simple and clean. I was sad we were only in town long enough to enjoy one meal. I wanted to come back and taste everything! Everything was perfect or very nearly there (my husband's steak lacked a little salt, but I'm willing to say that's personal preference). I won't actually be opening my own restaurant. I enjoy just being private chef to my own little family, but this place is dreamy! I'm scheming of how to get back here. read more

My wife and I stopped by for an early Friday dinner. They place was already busy, so we were excited, and the menu items looked intriguing. When I ordered a chicken dish, the waitress said they were out. I chose another item, and I was told they were out. So I ordered off their special menu. To my surprise, the dish came with nothing else. Might as well have been a la carte, but at a price for a full meal. For the price, the service and the lack of available options really turned me off. I really wanted to like this place. Liked what was on the menu online. Was seated immediately (4:30 ish). Interior is beautiful. All stars are for the server. He was courteous, helpful, and very patient. We ordered food and drink. Husband was disappointed in sangria. Flies arrived with the food, husband then had an ant crawling on him. Then we realized someone was going to be belly dancing. Husband was done- not his deal to watch a stranger dance half naked while trying to eat. I tried to eat our salad, but kept coming across mutilated/mushed spinach leaves. Not my deal to eat icky leaves. Picked through until i was just over it. Left over half of salad. First off I loved the artwork on one of the walls. I ended up trying the pick 3 appetizer trio - garlic mushrooms, potatoes and sausage. So good. I had the Rose from Spain and Tempranillo from Spain. We came into town for dinner(we live outside of Silverton)..unfortunately it was Homer Davenport days so everything was packed. Luckily we did get a table, we wanted to check out the new restaurant in town. They were very busy. Understandable. Everything took for ever to come. When we got the bill...ooohhhee. We were shocked. We don't consider the food worth the price. MAybe the drinks are what raised the price? We just paid and got out of there..it was too noisy and crowded. I'm not sure we will go back. I keep feeling we ought to give them another chance but those prices..wow..I expected nicer food for that price myself. It ain't the Silver Grill! We go out once a month usually. read more

After having moved to the area from Portland (a food-lover's wonderland), we've struggled to find local restaurants. Admittedly, maybe our bar was too high. So far, most places were underwhelming to the point of appalling. Oso was recommended, but after some significant disappointments, I didn't hold out much hope. We arrived to a lovely remodeled space, that retained the charm of the original building, with exposed brick and tall a tall ceiling. I didn't love the live-edge rustic look of the bar shelving, but the rest was beautiful, especially the chandeliers. Really beautiful, inviting space. The server was intelligent, friendly, professional, and provided excellent recommendations. There was a small miscommunication, which she immediately fixed. Great service. The food. I am hard to please, but enjoyed everything. Really, everything. The cocktail I ordered wasn't my favorite, but another cocktail the boyfriend ordered was phenomenal, and there were 4 others that were interesting enough to visit again. The bacon and shallot appetizer was amazing. The brie starter was a perfect combination of creamy and savory, and the whipped feta with honey was perfect. I didn't love the clam chowder, but it was good. Too much oregano for me, but the.glavor was good. The main: I ordered the Arroz Marinero. Wow. The fish and shrimp were cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. Not huge but just the right size. Very good, and will definitely order again. Boyfriend ordered the burger and loved it. The flank steak was amazing too, and cooked perfectly medium rare. We will be back to try the remaining cocktails, and to have the bacon shallot app and arroz dish again. There were 3 servers, only 3 tables occupied, and we had to wave down a server to get anything... to get menus, then to get someone to take our order, then to get to go boxes, and to get our bill. The menu looked great so we ate there first time yesterday; extremely noisy, zero acoustic control or dampening. The waitress seemed confused multiple times, but did come back to check on us. Service was slow, but it was crowded. They ran out of the special we wanted and it was only 6:30PM. ? I think we all thought the food was flavorful; however, it is way overpriced for what you get and you get nickel and dimed for every single thing. It's a bit aggravating. Some things you should not have to pay EXTRA for, like meat on a gyro. Probably won't be back. read more
