Best restaurant we tried during our weekend in Zion -- American style Mexican but filling, tasty large portions. The outdoor seating is heated and even on a windy day they were trying hard to adjust the wall coverings to prevent too much chaos while people were eating. They brought our dog water without us asking, which was sweet. We got the nachos and chicken chorizo burrito to share. I love a soaked burrito and this one had so much meat, rice and beans on the side, cheese, and a ton of salsa verde on top. The nachos did not skimp on the toppings either. It's nice to see they also have burgers and sandwiches to cater to people with maybe more of a conventional Western palette. Still, we were grateful to find something that diversified from eating hamburgers every day. read more

Excellent Mexican food by Zion National Park!!! Oscar's was an outstanding find in our trip to Zion, thank you fellow Yelpers! I had the Tamales and they were perfectly cooked, with the perfect amount of filling. The sauce was also delicious, with the perfect amount of kick and heat. The dishes are big. So an appetizer and sharing a main course are perfect for people who are normally hungry. The restaurant is lovely, decor is a mix of Mexico meets Zion. When they say BIG portions take note. I ate my chicken burrito for 3 meals. My husband had the murder burger. He did finish it but it came with a ton of fries. We also tried the chips with salsa and guacamole. Did not disappoint and we had leftovers of that too! Good food, great staff, loved sitting outside and enjoying the sun. Had dinner at Oscar's Cafe and we loved it! So many great things to say. Service was a standout. Our hostess and waiter were soo kind. They gave us extra drink refills without asking, provided great menu recommendations, and were just so sweet. Food was great with huge portions!! My dad and I split the chips and salsa while I ordered the chicken salad and he had the shrimp tacos. Super tasty. Lastly, can't forget the views. Oscar's Cafe has a nice outdoor seating area with a view of the beautiful red mountains of Springdale. We sat outdoors on a warm day and the birds were flying around us. They also took some of our salad! Some may find this annoying but we found it cute/charming. Oscar's is usually very crowded, which makes it difficult for some of the waiters to tend to you in a timely manner. The service is friendly but a bit slow. The food took some time to come out but wasn't excessively slow. The food itself was tasty. I believe this is supposed to be a Tex-Mex inspired restaurant, including the portions. The food portions were absolutely massive. But to be honest after strenuous hiking, we finished most of it. Overall, eating here was a solid experience and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to have flavorful Tex-Mex food. read more

In the pre-covid years, Oscar's Cafe was one of the best restaurants that I have tried in the city of Springdale. This summer, I visited Zion National Park with my family, and I am glad that I had the opportunity to try this place for a second time. On my first visit, I experienced the indoor seating, however, I changed things up by opting for patio seating. I highly recommend outdoor seating because it was shaded and spacious. As I browsed through the menu, I was surprised to see that the BBQ Burger I ordered before was no longer served. But, the Avocado Chip Burger sounded good. And my mom ordered that burger as well. Meanwhile, my dad ordered the Garlic Burger which is a great option for those who like simple cheeseburgers. Conversely, my sister chose the Whoop Burger that is a spicy burger. I also appreciate how the server asked whether we wanted regular, sweet potato fries, or half and half. When our food arrived, the fries were very hot and the burger looked massive. After I took a bite, it was cheesy, saucy, and creamy goodness. My parents and sister raved about their burgers, too. Additionally, during our meal, the server was attentive and ensured our drinks got refilled. Don't expect anything from the ambiance, but it was simple and very good--comfortable. we arrived around 7p on a spring break Tuesday expecting to wait a long time for a party of 4 after our hiking day. we were so wrong!!! we waited less than 20 minutes, they were so organized to get things rolling. Immediately a waitress was at our table and then before we knew it... our food was out. The servings were humongous and so tasty. we had at our table chicken enchiladas-- superb..so big that even splitting it was too much for my wife and daughter pastrami and sauerkraut--so tasty with fries Philly steak sandwich with fries-- large and tasty also! we had the appetizer also with chips , salsa, and guacamole (freshly made ) All this with pop (no alcoholic beverages) for less than 100$ tip included. a definite must stop if you want great quick food. they have a large menu also with GF and vegan options available and highlighted!!!! read more

Worth the wait. Grab a buzzer and walk around the area until your buzzer alerts... Our wait was about 40 minutes but it went by quickly as we shopped across the street. This restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. We brought our dog so we sat outside. The vibe was relaxed and social. We chose those restaurant for its many vegetarian options. Ultimately, we selected the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich and the Portobello Mushroom and Avocado Salad. Our food arrived quickly, was nicely plated and was well portioned. Both items were delicious! The vinaigrette on the mushrooms gave the sandwich and the salad the perfect touch of tang. My daughter loved the pistachios in the salad. Service was friendly, patient and helpful. This place is incredible. We had the great fortune to stay at a nearby B&B with breakfast vouchers for Oscar's. Neither my husband nor I typically eat a big breakfast but because we were spending time in the park, we decided to have a hearty start. There is something for everyone and it is all simply delicious. The wait staff were very friendly, food came quickly but everything was fresh & hot. Including warm maple syrup! One of the best places to eat in Springdale. Probably my favorite. Why? 1. They are able to accommodate lots of people. Even when they're super busy, the wait isn't terrible. 2. The service is outstanding, no matter who is serving you. 3. Great variety on the menu. Mexican, Tex-Mex, burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. 4. Much of the seating is on their patio, which is covered and enclosed, with heaters that are very warm. You can sit there comfortably when it's 30 degrees (probably when it's colder). Burrito came out fast and was very fresh--I got the vegan one (I'm not usually vegan but was recovering from stomach upset) and the tortilla was soft and the vegetables were cooked fresh and very flavorful. I really don't understand the hype around this restaurant. The blonde woman who sat us at our table never smiled and acted like she was annoyed that we were there. Our waitress was somewhat friendly, but we felt rushed through our meal like she was trying to flip the table quickly. I had enchiladas that were supposed to have green chiles in them but I couldn't taste any green chiles. The flavor was just ok. We went in to have a breakfast at Oscar's Cafe. There was a plenty of parking. We sat down and hot coffee was served right away in a mug with a spoon in. The coffee tasted decent compared to many places in this area. Soon we noticed that there were so many sparrows inside and bothering guests but the waitress nor the waiter didn't do anything. There was no door to be closed, so we figured that was the reason. It was unsanitary to have birds on the tables eating guests' food; not very relaxing breakfast for sure. Tried Oscar's bc it got high Yelp rating. However, this is off the mark. The place is not what we expected, was very crowded and food was not even good. (Go to MeMe's instead!!). The staff is nice though. I got salmon salad - salmon was way over cooked and no flavor. The dressing was so bland I asked for more on side but it was just green water. I asked for ranch and that was a watery white with no flavor. My friend ordered turkey sandwich, it had a lot of turkey slices but not very flavorful. The Cajun fries were good though. read more

We had a party of 2 for dinner at 6:30 pm on Friday, 7/8/2022. We were seated right away! But when we left, there were a lot of people waiting, so get there early! Tanzy was our waitress and she was good! They have indoor and patio seating. We sat on the patio and it was shaded and cool, even in July! Here's what we got: - Maui Burger ($18): Huge - I could only eat half. It was good! I got half sweet potato and half regular fries. Both were amazing! The burrito was better though! - Oscar's Chicken Burrito ($20): Suuuper good!! Also very big - we brought back half! Comes with a side salad that is very generous with toppings, like mushrooms, corn, and olives! The dressing was delicious. I would go with the burrito over the burger. - Half Volcano Brownie Sundae: We saw the whole order on another table and it was GIANT. We were able to get a half order!
