Easy five stars for me due to the combination of customer service, selection, quality, and overall atmosphere. I love their clothing, superbly made and has a great overall look that works for me whether I am just hanging out, traveling, or working in a business casual environment. Their outdoor gear is outstanding, and their prices come with quality. Staffer Lisa was pleasant when I visited last week, and she has such a good feel for the store and its options. Came in here to buy some new waders and Gene gave me some killer customer service. He had me try on different sizes, walk around the store, and go up steps to make sure I got the right size and showed me some fish pics. I can't wait to come back and visit Gene for more orvis products! read more

My partner and I went to Orvis in Cherry Creek to exchange a gift from my parents, and the salesman could not have been more rude, standoffish and disinterested in helping us. I also couldn't help to noticed that the same condescending tone that he used with us, he used to talk to a saleswoman. We don't fish or hunt, for which he treated us like we were not even worth talking to, however my parents and my partner's parents do, so we shop at Orvis a lot. After this experience I will never be stepping in that store ever again. The worst thing is that we later found out that Steve Hundley, was not only a salesman, but the store manager. I received extraordinarily great service in this store! I was in need of new fly fishing gear and went into Orvis to check it out. I was instantly greeted by "Jen" who took me back to the fishing department to show me waders and boots. In this male dominated sport it was so nice to have assistance from a knowledgable women angler who understood my needs. She recommended the Women's Silver Sonic waders which I had never tried before. They fit me to a tee and I knew I had to have them the minute I put them on. Done! I also wanted a pair of felt bottom boots for a float trip I was planning. Jen recommended the Encounter boots and seemed to know my foot size better than I did. Great! Knowing I was going on a float and being familiar with the area she made some other recommendations that worked very well for me. Awesome! In an age where customer service seems to be a thing of the past, I am happy to say that customer service is alive and well at Orvis Cherry Creek. Do you play twice as hard as you work? Do you take mastering the art of fly-fishing as serious as mastering your career? If you do, I am sure you know the Orvis name. Not exactly cheap, but I have been down that road and 99% of the time you get exactly what you pay for. This store always has knowledgeable staff on hand to answer questions and usually has most anything you could want in stock. If you want some of the best outdoor gear around go with Orvis. Went in today to get a gift for my husband who is just getting into fly fishing. Andrew was SO helpful, wasn't pushy, clearly wanted to help me get the perfect thing for my guy. Great men's clothing especially for travel. Unfortunately, service can be nonexistent. Stopped in yesterday, two $25.00 coupons in hand from "Spring Sales Event", ready to buy some items for upcoming trip. Four employees in the store and not one other customer. Not one spoke a word to me. Had to practically mount the check out counter to ask a question. Needless to say, walked out empty handed. Return to this store doubtful at best. read more

I purchased a coat from Orvis, which fell apart at the seams less than a year later. When I called the customer service to ask about exchanging it, I was told they would not do anything without the receipt. The fact that it was an Orvis brand coat was not sufficient "proof of purchase." Nor did it matter that I did not want cash back, I wanted the coat, all stitched up and in good shape. The customer service worker was very polite and tried to be helpful. But, of course, not expecting the coat to fall apart, I did not have the receipt nine months later. So, there was not much she could do for me. Given the substantial cost of the coat, and the shoddy workmanship, I do not think I will be shopping at Orvis again anytime soon. read more

Very disappointed!!! The new "policy's" are destroying what little of a reputation they had. Used to be known for taking care of their customers and backing there products. Now the only rep they have is how overly priced and snooty they are! Orvis products used to be made in the USA with quality. Now they get cheep stuff from China and stamp their name on the side. Rods fail and they want to charge the same fees as the USA made products. $60 to have a $1000 rod replaced is great, but to charge the same $60 for a defective Chinese rod that sells for $150 is outrageous! I will be shopping at one of the many competitors in town from now on. read more

Kerry and his team have slowly and steadily converted me to a die-hard Orvis fan. 1. The quality of the gear largely speaks for itself. Also, their mid and upper tier rods are made in America. With the recent purchase of Ross, many of their reels will likely be made here in CO as well. 2. The staff, their knowledge and willingness to help out are absolutely top notch. This fly shop doesn't keep any secrets. The guys here really are experts - I have personally noticed the attention to detail and execution of all of the little steps necessary to get a rig perfectly set up; something that I have not always experienced at other shops in Denver. Any time I have a new reel that I need set up I take it to these guys (even if it isn't always an Orvis reel with Orvis products). 3. The resources available from Orvis and this store for fly fishers is unsurpassed. I wish I could have attended an Orvis Fly Fishing 101 and 202 class back when I was introduced to the sport! Additionally, the Orvis Fly Fishing Pod Casts and blog at orvisnews.com are loaded with information for beginners and veterans alike. Be candid with your level of experience and goals/objectives and I think you will be more than satisfied with the results. One parting comment on prices: The axiom "You get what you pay for" holds true. That said, they really are not priced out of line with their true competition generally speaking (ie rods/tackle/flies specifically). As another reviewer mentioned, they offer fairly regular coupons as well if you attend any of their events or sign up for emails - I was dropping by the shop on a weekly basis this past fall with $25 off a $50 purchase coupons. read more

Its orvis and its classic. They have great clothing that will stand the test of time. This stuff is expensive but built to last. They have a great selection and its some of the best clothing out there. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Their summer sale items were also very nice. I managed to pick up some great kakies, canvas hat, and a sage rod for a great deal. read more
