When arriving to Orr reed I was greeted by the most beautiful wall of colorful doors! It actually inspired me to create a door-wall that is similar in my home once I own my own and no longer renting. Hannah, the owner, and her mother Michelle were there and as a first time visitor they gave us the full walkthrough the entire inside and outside of the building. They were both extremely knowledgeable about every single piece they had! "That is an Egyptian door from the 1800's" Like, what?! Who remembers that kind of thing, or even takes the time to learn the history of their items?! Orr Reed does. They were also an amazing backboard to brainstorm ideas for our projects that we had originally come in for. We wanted to build a table out of a funky looking door and Hannah was able to help us think through the entire project start to finish!! We will definitely be returning soon!

Although we didn't walk away with anything and I'm still curious as to how much something would cost, it was pretty much what I had in mind. The pricing is a big factor. They have tons and tons of off hinged doors and lots of used wood. We came looking for driftwood but they said they didn't think they had any and we didn't look very hard because it was raining so it kind of put a damper on our search. If you are looking for used sinks, lighting, broken windows and doors, this is the place! I saw some windows I liked but they were a little more damaged than I wanted. The staff seemed friendly and welcoming and there were cats roaming around inside and out. It's also back in a part of town that I don't go very often or ever and I wouldn't go by myself if you know what I mean. But overall pretty interesting and worth checking when you're looking for used items with lots of character.

architectural salvage. in case i need to explain, this place is a small(ish) "junk yard" - which is totally NOT junk - but super cool old stuff- of stripped pieces from homes/buildings that are scheduled to be demolished; for example, old cast iron claw foot bath tubs, fireplace mantles, light fixtures, hard wood floors as old as your grandma. this is a shop that re-sales, passes on, appreciates and respects character. this shop is not just helping the environment in promoting repurposing one man's junk, but it's preserving a little bit of history, which personally, i think, is very special.

Just the place we needed to find an old barn beam to use for a fireplace mantel. Also use some old wood for some floating shelfs to match the barn beam. Very friendly and helpful. Such a fun place to look around and find unique treasures. A true hidden gem in the big city.

If every supplier or manufacturer is as effective, thorough and competent as David at Texas Best Flooring and his team, then it would be satisfaction from the start. I could not recommend a better wood floor provider than Texas Best Flooring. I think David and his team represent the vanguard of this profession and I could not be happier with the materials they installed. The materials are just 50% of this. The installation is paramount and this team of professionals really know what they are doing. These statements are supported by their: -knowledge -thoroughness and details -explanations and willingness to answer questions -comprehensive moisture testing to determine best flooring solutions for our particular situation -clean prompt and efficient workmanship from start to finish -cordial team dedicated to the highest quality I wish all service providers were as professional and knowledgeable as David at Texas Best Flooring. In terms of securing a contractor and as a standard of practice, I would never suggest just getting one quote, but in this rare case I can state unequivocally a person can exclusively select Texas Best Flooring Company and not have to look elsewhere. This company and our experience is the exception and not the rule. Keep in mind, there is a great deal that goes into installing a floor. It encompasses many steps to do it correctly and it is a trade that requires precision. When we purchased our house in 2016 it had been a remodel with one of the rooms having hardwood floors that were not sealed and secured properly. Consequently, there were issues with moisture that exacerbated the original installation. Something a buyer could not detect initially. Fast forward to March 2026 and we interviewed two contractors who claimed from their website they had years of experience installing floors. I am sure those contractors had years of experience installing floors *incorrectly.* With Texas Best Flooring, David using specific instruments for moisture detection and moisture movement was able to analyize the data and then ascertain the root cause issues along with the subsequent impacts to the previous floor. What followed was one of the best proposals we had seen from a contractor that offered a comphrehensive solution for our floor. This proposal explained the methods and scope of work necessary to accomplish this installation the right way! The way it should have been done the first time around. The thoroughness of this proposal was indicative of the work that was to follow. From the grinding of the concrete slab phase, leveling, buffing, application of specialized expansion sealants, adhesives etc...the hardwood was ready to be installed. Every step of the process was completed with utmost quality and attention to detail. Their customer service is highly knowledeable and a pleasure to work. And David's technical team is cordial, considerate, clean and professional throughout. To summarize, Texas Best Flooring Company is a turnkey operation that provides exceptional services from cradle to completion. We will be recommending David (Texas Best Flooring Company) to everyone we know and if we encounter someone talking about needing a floor installed we will let them know as well to contact David and not waste time going elsewhere.

The living room and upstairs hardwoods were dull, and the kitchen and guest bedroom floors were a total eyesore. We called Texas Hardwood Flooring, where Jesse helped us take the entire space to the next level. We started by revitalizing the original hardwoods. In my opinion, nothing beats the character of natural wood; the look and feel are both calming and sophisticated. Jesse was instrumental in helping us navigate the staining process. He walked us through different shades to find a tone that brightens the rooms by day, but feels warm and soothing when the sun sets and the lights dim. For the kitchen and guest bedroom, we had a clean slate. We wanted an urban, "Amsterdam-inspired" energy that welcomed the spirit of the city into the home. Jesse and his team took our initial ideas and hit a home run--the brick tile herringbone they installed is, to this day, my favorite feature of the house. The craftsmanship is undeniable. The transitions between the wood and tile are seamless, and the installation is flawless. Throughout the process, the team was professional, kept a clean worksite, and stayed perfectly on schedule. If you need a team with true creative vision and incredible attention to detail, I cannot recommend Texas Hardwood Flooring enough.

The patched areas are completely seamless, and the color match is perfect. What impressed us even more was their honesty. They realized the baseboards were not needed and actually refunded that cost, which is rare to see from a contractor these days. The project was finished on time, under budget, and with great attention to detail. We could not be more pleased. I would highly recommend Jesse and his incredible crew to anyone.
