Being consistently highly recommended on here, NextDoor, and they are in my neighborhood, I called to see if they could replace my tire. They said to come by whenever! They didn't have my tire in stock but because they are not controlled by the rules of a huge corporation, they can use their extensive expertise to offer me something cheaper that would work the same. They don't need to pressure you to buy more snd they can offer you something more affordable. I usually go to Big O but recently their service became very rude, then I considered Costco but I got different advice from different sales people there which made me question their expertise. read more

These guys are the best! I was visiting my daughter in Oakland when my brake pedal started sinking practically to the floor. I knew this was bad. My daughter buys her tires at Orozco's and has all mechanical work done there. She took my car to them. The mechanic said it could just be air in the hydraulic system , but he said he'd like to do a complete check the next morning. We took the car back. He found badly worn brake pads. I went to the shop on San Pablo to get my AC diagnosed and fixed. They told me that I had an AC leak and that I needed a new radiator fan and relay. I had replaced the thermostat the night before, so I knew that both radiator fans worked and let him know. After telling him that fact, he suddenly changed his tone and got angry with me. He told me he would not work on my car and I should pick it up. I told him I really would like him to repair my AC and he still refused. I can only conclude that he knew I understood he wanted to charge me for unnecessary parts. I guess they rely on uninformed customers for them to cheat. I even took a video of both fans working after I picked it up to prove they were lying (or maybe just incompetent). When I picked up my car that evening, after hours, there was a check engine light on that was not there when I arrived! Amazing! they even sabotaged my car because I was informed about it. I really wish I hadn't used this company. I relied on the really positive reviews. I had new tires installed. Car would shake at high speeds. I took it to them over and over again. They said they rotated and rebalanced the tires each time. But it would still shake. Took it to another service company specializing in tires and the balance was off. So I had to pay for them to fix it. Save yourself the grief. Pay a bit extra and take it to a reputable company with proper equipment. read more

Initially they told me the tire was replaced and ready, so I left and realized they didn't replace it. Upon returning, it didn't seem like they believed me when I said they didn't replace it. They were fine when I just needed a quick tire repair or to buy a used replacement, but when I bought four all new tires my experience changed. I was charged for the alignment when I bought the tires (didn't tell me he was doing before he ran my card) and asked to me to return within a couple of weeks to get that done. Asked how much time that would take, the owner said 2 hours. I called a couple of weeks later to make an appointment and the owner said that if I brought in the car before 3:00pm ( I called at 2:00) they could do it. When I arrived at 2:45, he said that I needed to go to their other shop, run by his brother for that. So I drove over there and the brother said he couldn't do it then, to return at 8:30 the next morning, which I did, and was told that his workers hadn't shown up and if they didn't, he wouldn't be able to to do it. That they didn't show up the other day and he had to close the shop. He asked me to wait, they showed up close to 9:00, then he asked me to wait a little longer while he pulled all the cars out of the shop. I finally got in about 20 minutes later. Before leaving to hang out at a cafe while they did the work, I felt like I needed to make sure his "maybe not going to show up today" workers had experience with Saabs, that the gear shift is in reverse (other professionals who I thought would know this, didn't and had done damage when the car jolted back when starting), and I asked the co-owner/brother, if his workers knew to put it in neutral when starting. His response in Spanish, with serious attitude, was something to the effect of "Your car is nothing special. We know what we're doing", then said I would have to wait a little longer while they finished another job. Instead of saying thanks for waiting, I understand your concern, they do have experience with your car, we appreciate your business, I got the your business is nothing special response. I pulled out of their garage, went to the first shop on Carleton, explained to the brother/owner there what my experience was at the other shop and asked for my money back. He did return it, but not without his own, more joking, attitude. The brother at the San Pablo Ave shop told me that the job would take 45 minutes, but I understand now why I was told it was a 2-hour job. Tire was punctured by a screw, so I took it to Americas Tire to get a free patch up, but they told me they couldn't patch it up because there was two puncture holes too close together. They said I would have to get a whole new tire for about 275$ including labor. They told me they would order it and it would be here in a day. I found this place through word of mouth and they told me to come by whenever before 7pm to change my tire (which they already had in stock and didn't need to order it for it too arrive) for only 200$. I went there and I soon as I pulled up someone already came up to the car and asked me what I needed. I explained what had happened, and they immediately got to looking at my tire. As soon as they pulled it off they assured me that they could patch it instead of fully replacing it, saving me 200$. They could have easily said that they had to replace it to charge me 200$ but they were honest and patched up my tire. They only take cash and I didn't have any on me, but told me that I could take my car to go get cash for them, without any hesitation. Patching up the tire only took 15min and was only 30$. I will never go anywhere but here. Amazing service, fast, honest, and incredibly reliable. Tire has had no issue even after Americas Tire said they couldn't patch it up. They are amazing! On a rainy Saturday morning (1/20/2024), I had a great experience with Orozco's tires in Berkeley (1032 Carleton St.). The previous night, I hit a center curve and damaged what I thought was the front tire. AAA responded promptly and replaced it with a spare. The major tire places had a personnel shortage and were unwilling to replace the tire. I drove to Orozco's Tires. They immediately waved me in. To my surprise, they refused to sell me a tire. Efficient, hard working and honest! I went in with a rental car that had a low tire. Normally I would just fill the tire and wait to see if there was a leak, but since it was a rental and I had to drive to Sacramento for a flight, I didn't want to take any chances of getting a flat on the way. I took the car in, they immediately helped me, took the tire off, checked to see if there were any leaks, checked and filled the rest of my tires and found no issues with the tire.
