I arrived with metal stems on my 6-ton RV duallies, and in my quote it was specified the new tires I purchased would be installed re-using the metal stems. A few months later I tried to check the tire pressure and found plastic stems in the rear wheels. Moreover, two of them had stripped threads and could not be used to adjust the pressure. Also, they were unable to perform the alignment on my vehicle so I had to take it to the dealership. I wish I'd just taken it to the dealership in the first place. When I called to ask why the plastic stems had been used, they checked their records and said in fact they *had* re-used the metal stems I provided. read more

I had an annoying slow leak in one tire, called them to schedule an appointment, and was told I could just swing by immediately. I did, and they said they'd be done in 45 minutes or so. That turned out to be a lie: they were done in less than half an hour, and charged me a whopping $35 for the service. The staff are funny and friendly, too. We have been here before for tire replacements (normal maintenance) and repairs (they helped us patch a tire) and both times everyone there was competent, skilled, and friendly. Today a friend pointed out a dangerous rip in one of our tires and we called Don's. They checked their inventory right away to see if they had a replacement (lucky for us, they had one in stock!) and even though it was at the warehouse, they had someone go pick it up immediately. We arrived later in the day and they were able to replace our tire right away. We are so grateful to them for going the extra mile, especially last minute! After purchasing brand new tires from Don's tires, I had to replace my new tires I bought with barely 18,000 miles on them. Don's has great sales people at the front desk and idiots in the shop, I was constantly complaining that my tires were never balanced correctly since the day I bought them. After bringing my truck back for the fifth time and being demanding they fix the balancing issue, the shop stewart inspected my tires and explained to me the tires were defective by the manufacturer and the manufacturer was not likely to give me a prorated refund which I found to be odd since he claimed the tires were defective and no sign of road damage was on my tires. I took my truck to a national tire company to get these replaced and to find out why I had the tires had the balancing problem, the tire specialists at the national tire shop showed me the flat spots on my tires because the wheel weights were not set properly in the rims which created flat spots on my tires. The tires were damaged and unrepairable after 18,000 miles. These people at Don's tires were dishonest in why my tires could never be balanced properly, covering for their bad tire mechanics in the back and resulted in damage to my tires that could not be repaired correctly. Don's incompetence and dishonesty forced me to buy a new set of tires after 18,238 miles. I know Yelp has very high ratings for them but be warned, companies on Yelp can purchase monthly subscriptions and delete posts they do not like. read more

I've returned to Don's a few times but never again, based on my last visit. My low tire warning light came on and the technician said the tire looked old, declared it was "probably" the sidewall and recommended a new tire. 1) The tire was not old and had more than half of its tread left. 2) I asked how they knew what the problem was without taking the tire off and checking for puncture etc. Their response was to change "probably" to "maybe" and argue they were the same thing. Then they again quoted me a new tire. 3) When they finally took the tire off and found no reason for the leak, my trust in them was gone. I had them put the tire back on and figure I'd take it somewhere else if the tire went low again. It's been several months and the tire is fine. read more

I had a fantastic experience at Don's Tire Service in the last couple of days. I am a senior who does not drive a whole lot. My low mileage 2007 Subaru Forester had tires which were 10 years old but which only had 21,000 miles on them. Because of the age, thought I should bring the vehicle in for an examination. Caleb, the sales representative, proved to be a very knowledgeable and experienced sales professional, recommending that I replace the tires and also recommending a set of great replacement all season tires. The cost of the recommended tires were substantially below the types that I had in my mind. Performance and quality factors, in light of my driving habits, had been considered and were discussed with me. The tires were ordered two days ago and put on the vehicle in a very professional and safe manner today. While waiting for the vehicle, I noted the super friendliness of the entire team at the store. I also noted how busy the store was, always a good sign. I appreciated the overall comraderie and teamwork exhibited by all involved. Caleb was very detail oriented and remembered everything I had requested. Also, the banter of the store members was wholesome and made one feel comfortable being on their premises. The staff know their ish, they are hilarious, and they care about YOUR car. Yes I said it....YOUR CAR! I have NEVER took my car to a tire shop that cares about YOUR car. These people are heaven sent! Even if they are busy, they make sure to give you your car back faster than you can call to check up on your car. They have the best deals and they are fast. I never had any issues with my cars. A trusted mechanic is hard to find. I used to pay big money at car dealerships then realized how much money I can save by putting my money into local small businesses in my area. Look, I just moved out this way from San Francisco, I heard great things about this place... other mechanics in the area even recommended them. I had a nail in my tire one shop couldn't do the service so they recommended Don's and sure enough they took care of me. I've had all my basic service here for half the cost. I'm pretty particular about tires I like on my vehicle and they broke me off a good deal. F*ck the dealership for service I go straight to Don's Tires for any of my issues. I'm not one for posting reviews, unless a product or service is exceptionally good, or in this case, exceptionally bad. I got a new Subaru Forester, and I went to Don's to upgrade and replace the crappy factory tires. That was 3 years ago, and well, I didn't rotate the tires in that time, which is my bad. But that also means I didn't have any wheels removed during that period. I had a complete failure on one of the tires. Ok, that happens, it was out of warranty anyway. In removing the wheel to put on the spare (with the tiny lug wrench included with the spare), I broke a lug nut stud. Hmm. Ok, never happened to me before, but that is life. Over the phone, Don's quoted $185 to fix the one broken stud, which seemed steep. At this point, I really needed new tires (don't forget to rotate your tires, people), and I decided to use a different tire shop. Don's replacement quote was too high. When the other tire shop removed the wheels, they broke 4 more studs on a total of 3 wheels! WHAT THIS TELLS YOU IS THAT DON'S OVER-TORQUED THE LUGS WHEN THEY DID THE TIRE WORK 3 YEARS AGO. I told my friend about this, and he said "oh yeah, same thing happened to me. That's why I am done with Don's" So word to the wise. BTW the new tire shop charged $150 to replace the (5) broken studs. So Don's, you owe me $150 and an apology for the hassle. read more
