Does the treatment work? Yes. However, getting a steady appointment and proper service is a struggle. I have had them on auto-pay several years. They have forgotten to come when scheduled, popped up when not scheduled, changed appts without notification. If you're not flexible with them, they'll say well that's how it is. I've canceled my service and will be using someone else moving forward. I also asked for a refund for this month since they are unable to service and was denied. Never trust a business who will take you money, make errors and lack flexibility to self correct errors. Never again because the monthly cost is actually too much for a service that's every other month and you MISS some months. Not the first time this has happened which means this is a habit. read more

I have had nothing but good experiences with Orkin. We have used them for mosquito and tick, termite control treatments as well as a attic remediation. Each time they come out our technician is informative and helpful. They have given us recommendations to keep spiders and other pets away from our home. We really couldn't be happier. I will say they are not the cheapest by any means. However, you get what you pay for is my philosophy. I will pay more and ask for what I want. So I see the value. read more

I have had service with Orkin for 5 years. The people who do quarterly services are hit or miss. I have confirmed appointments several times and STILL the service was NOT completed. Another thing the guys that served would do is arrive several hours before SCHEDULED service and only do the outside. It is like having teeth pulled to have service done inside the home. I TOTALLY wasted my evening waiting for them for them NOT to show. Money is too hard to come by for me to waste time paying for bad service. This comment does not apply to exclusive high end service provided by the Rollins side of Orkin (they were phenomenal). I will be cancelling my service very soon. read more

This business in Waldorf, MD is disorganized, unresponsive and unreliable. Based on prior reviews, this appears to be a years' long issue. I signed up last fall for routine pest control. Visits went well for a few months, although announced at the last minute with no prior warning. Communication has never been ideal, but deteriorated to non-existent the past few months. A routine visit in March was to include treatment for ants in the kitchen. I was not home, allowed remote entry and when I arrived home I saw no evidence of treatment. Days later ants remained active. I called the office and asked for a guaranteed re-visit to address the problem. It was an 11 minute phone call. The visit was scheduled for the next week. I waited that day and the technician never arrived. I called the office twice that day, no pick ups, left voicemails. The next day I left another voicemail about the no-show, left a text message on the manager's direct line. No call backs. After trying to reach the office again, many days later I sent an email to the central office management and copied the local office. The next day an "office assistant" called to say he heard I had a "problem." He had no familiarity with the issue, and was washing dishes or doing chores while speaking with me, which caused me to ask if he was distracted during our call. I explained AGAIN everything I had described in detail in my voice messages and email. He would look into it. The next morning the office manager called. He, too, had no idea what was going on. Where did my voice mails, email and info from the assistant go? I AGAIN had to describe the situation. He said the office had been suffering from staff issues, and my record showed I had an appointment for followup for the ants scheduled and the tech did not show up. He had NOT looked into this before calling. He said they were having trouble scheduling appointments. I found this unlikely, since my neighbor had called them to begin new service and had an immediate initial appointment while I was waiting weeks for a return call. He offered to have the tech come out right away. It was very obvious that this office in not professional or fixing their problems. I asked for immediate cancellation of services, removal of a pending monthly charge (an automatic payment for a future visit) and removal of the charge for the last on-site visit, since the visit did not address the problem and the guaranteed follow up never happened or was addressed. They have removed the pending charge. The payment for the unproductive visit and failed followup remains and has not been credited to my account. Beware!!! read more

So after having Orkin for 3+ years I called 10 days ago to ask about a service.9 days later not a soul has called me back. In addition the recording indicated I had termite service which I definitely did not sign up for. Lady tries to explain that what I got is how they label that but I digress. Anyway I asked he to cancel my service. She informs me I have to pay the last charge. I tell her ok. She charges my card which I can see and tells me it was declined. Then she's asking me the last 4 of my card and giving me all these odd numbers. Lady this is the same card you have been charging for the last 3 years. To say I'm annoyed is an under statement. I have been using Orkin of Waldorf, MD for years and I've noticed that every other month they send me a bill for a missed payment - yet - checking my account, they've been paid every month. Some months they've been paid twice because they claim a missed payment. They keep the worst records around and it's very discouraging when you know you pay your bills, pay them on time, and this company is getting more out of you then they should. I've been told I was a month behind and when I asked how that was possible, I was told that they don't cash the check until after the service is done. That was stupid because my service is the fourth Saturday of the month. This practice always looks like I'm a month behind in payments. The scheduled work was always changed by Orkin. We started the first weekend of the month and now I'm at the 4th. You would think that collecting two payment for Feb, May and now they think they'll get two for August; we wouldn't own them nothing. Hopefully, they will explain what month we were supposed to have missed. The technician is the best, but their office clerks need extensive training. The invoices never come the same time each month. Sometimes it comes the first week of the month, but most times it comes the second and third week. I'll blame it on mail delivery - but processing payment - well - that's all Orkin, Waldorf,Md. Orkin's left hand contradicts the right. Had a bit of a mouse issue, so I called the main number on the website. A VERY helpful woman went through the routine and explained that the service call covers the crawlspace, attic, garage, and main floor. The tech rescheduled twice, which is a special feeling when you're taking time off to be there. When they did finally show up he explained that they are not permitted to enter a crawlspace. He also didn't check the attic. Then he asked my wife to help move the stove so he can check things out. Ultimately we paid a couple hundred dollars for a handful of sticky traps and bait boxes... all of which I already owned. He did shove steel wool between any cracks of the hood vent, but couldn't access all of them. After calling the main line they connected me to the local branch so that they could term the contract. Horrible experience.. and it makes me wonder how many others they have lied to or how many others have paid for services not rendered. read more

Do not waste your money!! Very overpriced!!! I use them for a yearly termite inspection and I know for sure the pricing is too high. As soon as this contract is up I will not be using them anymore. read more

So I heard scratching in my attic and figured I had a mouse or a squirrel. One of their pitchmen came out to tell me how experienced and thorough of a company they were. He proceeded to give me his overview and then he did a very cursory inspection around my house and found no entry points. He put sticky traps everywhere including the attic and sprinkled some pest abatement concoction around my house. Whilst in the attic he didn't get anywhere near the place I heard scratching and furthermore left my attic light turned on which I didn't realize for three or more days. He told me one of his seasoned inspectors would be out to do a thorough inspection of the attic and recommend further action. More than a week went by and no one called me not even once. 275 dollars for virtually nothing. Also it wasn't mice in the attic it was a squirrel. Very substandard service and way overpriced for what they do. I am in the process of requesting a refund so we will see how that goes. I highly suggest you so somewhere else the service is substandard. read more

They do NOT respect your time. On several occasions, they failed to show for a scheduled appointment window. No courtesy call, just didn't show up! Wasted my time and leave! I am currently searching for an alternative monthly maintenance provider. They are popular but they have local competition. Don't fall for it. Find a company that cares. read more
