They tell you to leave at 9 and be gone 4 hours! I came back to check and they still haven't showed and it's now 12:34! I partly blame Waterstone apt management for scheduling this thanksgiving week. I called to have my apt done first as it's my sons birthday and I just saw the men in the back Apts. They have poor reviews because they come when they want and not concerned for customers. It's cost me time and money to prepare and lost hours at work. Also they don't cure the bug problem at all! I did my own research and ended up buying liquid traps and now use them every 3 months and have rarely ever seen any live ones as long as I buy them every 3 months. Much better thank Orkin coming every week and seeing live ones read more

We had Andrew as our tech and never had a problem. Now they changed techs to Peter who is rude and unprofessional. I will find another service because I am not paying high rates for the Orkin name and get bad treatment. read more

Our technician was great, but customer service is terrible. I've gotten conflicting information from every representative I've spoken to, and because of this, we were charged when we shouldn't have been and they refuse to reverse the charges. We are not happy and will be canceling our policy immediately. The service is not effective enough to be worth the cost, would not recommend to anyone. read more

Can not believe this! One of their employees was in a car next to me at 3:50 on la Sierra driving home. And this man was just staring at me being super rude with his driving and swerving. Then he parks his car again on a stop light and my son starts to notice the way he was looking. It was disgusting, inappropriate, and uncalled for read more

Thanks for nothing Orkin. You were supposed to be at my house today between 10-12. I called and was told someone would arrive and would call me when on their way. It's now 12:15pm and no one has shown and apparently, your office is now closed, even though you advertise 24/7 customer service on your website. So now the schedule I scheduled around YOUR time frame window has been completely shot and the problem has not been addressed. I sure as hell won't be leaving any positive reviews. read more

Just began our Orkin services, first phone call with the rep was fantastic.they were able to get someone over within the next few hours which was pleasant because I prolonged the issue long enough and finally had a day off and they were more than able to accommodate.technician I believe was named Jose, very well spoken young man and knows what he came to do.First was signing contract then the work began.he cleared my entire back yard of spider webs, next he thoroughly sprayed the whole house inside and out including perimeter. I can already see the bugs coming out from daylight hiding to begin their extinction.thanks again for the hard work on such a hot day and I would recommended Orkin riverside to anyone who needs exterminators. Request Jose as I did for future return visits. read more

Started off fine- outstanding decline in cockroaches. Deal was that I would get notified BEFORE the service call. Orkin service came 12/19 with NO notification- said he sprayed outside the house - left a $104 bill. I disputed this and cancelled any further service calls. Orkin took the money out of my account- I disputed this and got refunded. 8 months after contracting with Orkin we still have random cockroaches. Yesterday they send me a text and voicemail that they were returning for another service call. Orkin is harder to get rid of then cockroaches. read more

I can't post a review about Orkin's performance because they never helped me. I contacted them about a big carpenter ant problem I have. Twice they sent (different) inspectors to assess the situation. They both indicated they could solve the problem, but both times said they needed to talk more with their management first and would get back to me. They never did. I called multiple times and was assured they would get back to me. They never did. So, is Orkin any god a pest control? I don't know, but they certainly suck as customer relations. I now plan to contact highly rated "local" exterminators to see it they are more interested in helping people from their community. read more

Not sure why our bill and inspection report have Riverside, CA on it since we live in Alameda - but ok. I just got (12/3/14) the yearly inspection report and it has our address on it but the house described in the "General Description" box is not our house. It says "This is a one story, stucco... It has an attached garage or carport...". We live in a wood house with a detached garage. It says our stairs have "earth to wood contact". Our stairs end on pavers. I called the office to let them know and, part of what they said was "He must have mixed yours up with some one else's. Let's hope he still has yours or he may have to come out again". I am supposed to get a call from them. They have already come out twice. The first time they showed up with no appointment and wanted me to sign a paper when I told them that I work from home and they would need to come back during a scheduled appointment. We have been with Orkin for years but, at this point I don't have a warm fuzzy with this company. 12/17/14 Update - still no call from Orkin. I just called again and they, once again, couldn't find the inspector and are trying his manager. Been on hold for 8 minutes now... Well they found the manager and he is supposed to call me. That is what I was told last time so this time I got the manager's number. I asked why can't I just get my inspection report and was told that they don't know where it is. Not happy that I have to be the one to stay on top of this since we pay them to do the inspection and produce the report. read more

Even though we live in Irvine, our house was serviced by Orkin in Riverside. The first few visits with the Orkin technicians went fine. However, we were then told we had to sign a one-year contract in order to receive any further service. My husband did not want to sign a lengthy pest control contract, as the pest problem had been resolved at that point. The technician was very insistent that my husband sign the contract, as was the supervisor over the phone. Well, it gets worse. The Orkin technician then started coming over to our house with a very small can of "pest spray," if it was indeed pest spray. Each time, he would boot us out of our home for 4-5 hours. We then discovered one day that something was going on with our laundry basket, as in someone was "rifling through" my underwear!!! It was absolutely sickening!!! read more

So I come on Yelp to give Gabriel Hernandez an excellent review and the review below says he was superb in 2014. Well in 2016 he is still a stand out professional. Friendly, clean look and a handshake before he left. I mean, I was pretty darn impressive and he put a smile on my face. How about them apples?! Anyways, Gabriel, you are a gem! read more

Steve Seymore of the local Orkin came to our home and told us we had termites. He explained that if we did not get the treatment they would destroy our home . Being first time home buyers and not exactly sure what were doing I tried to call my father but when I could not reach him Steven explained that it was no worry, iI could cancel at anytime . People do it all the time. I got in touch with my father to next day to be told that I did not have termites, and that the termite the VA has required just a few months ago showed no termites. I sent a letter to cancel the service and after speaking to rather rude lady , I am still waiting on a call. WE have called the VA and also reported this to them read more

solved my ant problems 19 years ago and I've been loyal ever since

First, I want to be very clear, this is not a review of Orkin's service as I never got that far. This is a review of their sales representation. Also, want to make it clear I am detail oriented and take notes when shopping around to make comparisons on services. So, I called the 866-610-4974 number for Orkin as we have a problem with ants. I spoke to a salesman and my biggest question was, would we have to leave the house for the service as we had been told by other companies. He emphatically stated NO! He explained in great detail how the service would be carried out both inside and outside. He stated that if we had been told we had to leave the house, that company didn't know what they were talking about. We had a very lengthy conversation about ants in general. He gave me a slight discount? and I booked the service. When the service techs arrived, the very first question was, you do know you need to leave the house for four hours. We explained our conversation with the salesman and did not proceed with the service. I then called and asked to speak with a manager. This process was somewhat difficult but eventually a manger got back to me. He was apologetic and stated that where we lived had specific rules and regulations for this service and that the network of sales people could live anywhere. The salesman had my address but did not direct me to another salesperson in my area. After much going around and around, I stated I liked the service tech who came to the house so please give me my options and prices. The salesman gave me one program with one price. The manager gave me basically five choices with all different pricing, none of which matched the salesperson. Long story long, be very careful in dealing with Orkin. We obviously chose another company who was straight forward from the start about everything, Yes, as you may read in other reviews , the WORST customer service and in my opinion not honest sales people. read more

Orkin is a joke and a true rip off. I had some flying pest in my home had no ideal what it was and I was determine to find out. A lady Tech came to my home after having me wait on her 3 hours and she knew nothing! She was asking me as if I was the Tech, so I had to tell her that's why I called you. She was guessing and guessing and after looking at one I caught on a sticky trap she still had no clue what it was. She then told me they was seaweeds and bite and cause itching so I needed to get rid of them. I was scared and nerves so She stated it will be $279 charge to spray just 3 rooms. I'm like what!!!! that is expensive but I hate bugs so I agree on price. I asked her what about the other rooms she was like oh yea...She was lost and did not seem to know anything about bugs. She went out to make a call and told me it will be $589 for entire house. I'm like hell these not bed bugs of nothing so why that price. Then she told me she had no spray or equipment to treat my home. I looked up the bug and clearly states they do not bite humans so she lied and was trying to rip me off. I called another company and came and treated for only $89 dollars. They are a true rip off and I will never call Orkin again!!!!!!! read more

I called Orkin based on their good reviews here. The tech was 3 hours late and didn't give me a heads up phone call. When I called the office they didn't know when he would arrive. Their service advertised they would check my house for entry points that the mice might be using. The tech only set traps and sprayed but didn't actually check. He only mentioned that a spot in our garden might be the entry point after I pointed it out. At the end of the appointment I was told they come back either the next day or the day after to check and reset traps. I was told I would get a 30 minute notice about this. No one ever showed up or called me. When I called they were not helpful and that they'd get back to me. I then asked to cancel my monthly subscription but was told if I cancel my monthly subscription they will not come back out to reset the traps even though the tech told me it was included in my first appointment fees. I will never use Orkin again! read more

I have to change my ratings because after my last complaint about appointment change, I've only had good experiences with Lee. He has been on time , always very professional and polite. He takes his time inspecting my house to see what else can be done to keep rats out of my attic. I'm very thankful! read more

BEWARE, stay away from these crooks! They took advantage of my elderly mother. They overcharged her and ripped her off. And now they took her to a collections agency. Orkin is the worst!!! Watch out senior citizens, they will steal your money. read more

They have the worst customer service over the phone! I have been a customer of their's since 2009. They have consistently increased my bill since then. I am now paying $25 more each service then I was when I first started with them. The service itself has not changed. When I called today to see if there was anything I could do about the price increase, the girl on the phone was extremely condescending. I told her the problem I was having and she said that because the economy is different now then when I started with them the price is higher. I asked her if they were willing to lower my bill or if I should end my service with them. She told me I should end my service so I did. I will be looking for a new company for my pest control needs. What an awful way to treat a loyal customer of 6 years! If they couldn't decrease my payment the least she could have been was kind. She was neither kind nor helpful that is the reason I ended my service. The one good thing was the guy who did our spraying. He is awesome! I feel bad for him that he has to work for such an awful company. read more

Technicians are very attentive. I used them before and they were great. When I needed pest control again, I went with another company thinking they were all the same, boy was i wrong! Orkin technicians follow up with you will respond to you messages, voice and text, and make sure you are taken care of. Awesome service!! read more

It was not the 1st company I called but all the other companies seemed like they didn't want to work. No one called back and the one that showed up was talking me into doing it myself. Orkin from the start was very helpful on the phone and scheduled my appointment. They arrived on time and were very willing to help. I am very impressed with the professionalism and knowledge everyone has shown. Joaquin and Kristian are great!!! read more

We hired Orkin Pest Control to service us for termites last year and the chemical should be good for ten years. I found some more termites earlier this week so I called Orkin to come take a look and the inspector said that the service last year missed one window so he scheduled a re-service on the next day between 1-4 pm. On the appointment day we were waiting but did not hear anyone came and I found out on my phone message that the service guy came by but no one open the door. He claimed that he waited 15 minutes which I knew that was not trued because we were waiting inside the house the entire time. If we did not hear the first knocked and he made a second attempted we would have heard it. I called Orkin back but the office could not reached the service guy even though she had tried several times. If their office could not reached their own employee; that tell me that this was B.S. The office re-scheduled me for next week which I told her it was too long. I paid for the service in full and need to renew the contract next month for a poor service from the beginning. What should I do? read more

Have been with Orkin for several years with no problems until now. They have raised there rates. They come once every two months but did not show. I got a call that someone would be there the next day, did not show. I saw the Orkin man two days later at my neighbors. He could not help me. I noticed that they were charging me for $98.00 for there service and they had not been there yet. I called Orkin they said that they showed they had been there. I told them they had not been there. They said they would be by the next day. No one came I called them again and they said I was scheduled and they would have my Orkin man call me and let me know what time. He called and said he wasn't aware that he was scheduled. I canceled Orkin and am now waiting for a manager to reimburse me for the $98.00 service I didn't get. read more
