Horrible. We have a bee problem and we called the company to come handled. They came here and said they can take care of the bees and then upsold us on the monthly pest control. They then proceeded to never show up to handle the bees. We ended up calling someone else after multiple no shows from the technician at orkin. Although now it seems some bees have entered our home, all thanks to orkin for ignoring the issue for well over a month. We have called and asked for a refund in which they refused to give. read more

The people that answer the office phone are lovely but needed the manager to book the appointment for me. After finally making an appointment, the technician never showed up. I recently moved into a new construction rental that had a centipede problem: normally I'd be freaking out but today I was pleased to say obviously the pesticide application worked because it sent one of them into my closet and died instantly - he was already dead and dried by the time I got home - making cleaning it up an ease and at ease they come back in 60 days to bomb again. The guys who actually come out and do the work are great. They're friendly & professional and they get the job done. There is a major disconnect between the office and the guys that actually come out. It has been twice now, that I was given an appointment that no one showed up for. And I had to call the office and inquire what happened to my scheduled appointment and why no one showed up within the window I was given. Someone forgot to schedule them, and also I've been billed to the wrong card in the past because two different cards were used for different services. I kind of regret using this company at this point. The work is great, but the hassle of dealing with the office and the irresponsible scheduling. The company lack of professionalism and the lack of consideration of people's time has made it more trouble than it's worth. read more

I paid $400 plus dollars to get rid of some mice in my garage. Not only do I still have mice but these people are charging me monthly for something that I didn't agree to. They told me I had a contract that was for it but I don't. So when is asked for a copy of this contract they couldn't give me one. The reason is because I don't have one. They not only lied and are charging me for something I didn't agree to they keep doing it with no end date. Am I supposed to pay until the end of time?! Please avoid these people and put some traps down. That's all they did for me! Imagine the amount of traps you can put down yourself for that much money. read more

let's start with the call center having only 2 people to answer the calls and all the sites are not 24/7 as it appears on the website. 2nd- I scheduled the termite inspector (as this is a new house I just bought) to come out and he no-showed. I called again and complained. He called me directly. He (Carl) said he was away and didn't know why they scheduled me. He said he would come out this past Wednesday, 11/13/24, and he no showed. I called and he said he would come for Friday, today, at 10am! He no-showed again. I called fuming and told them to terminate my service and that I will contact the BBB if they charge me at the end of this month! They said they needed 30 days notice! I said "oh, just like your inspector gave me no notice, I won't be giving any! I'm exempt from the ridiculous rule!" Do NOT call Orkin! Horrible service read more

NEVER use this company! If I could rate them as 0 stars I would! I never leave reviews but felt that I had to for Orkin. I saw a mouse in my apartment so called to have it taken care of. First of all, I was told that I would have a full service with every room and outside inspected and treated. The guy came and was very nice but only looked at the kitchen, sealed up a few openings around the pipes and laid out some cheap traps which I could have done myself for about $20 but was charged almost $500. I then saw the mouse again one more time and then never again and no mice caught in the traps which means that it got out somehow and so can still get back in. When I called to complain (after sending several unanswered emails) I was told that I signed a contract and was still responsible for the full payment which I reluctantly paid. I was then charged again for two months after that when I received no additional services. When I called they told me that they could not do anything about the additional charges because they had a service order which I never signed or authorized. The guy on the call very rudely said "well what do you want me to do"? I said that I wanted a refund for the charged services that I did not receive or authorize. He just kept saying that the guy came even though I repeatedly told him that no one was here. Their response was to email me the work order which again did not have my signature on it. I emailed and called repeatedly and every time was told that a manager would call me back and no one ever did. I finally had to dispute the 2 additional charges with my bank. The next month I had another pending charge and finally had to block all future charges from this company. This is completely unacceptable and I will NEVER work with this company again. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. This company does not care about their customers and only cares about taking your money for services they did not provide! read more

I normally never had any issues with this company- we've used them for years, as the techs that always come to the home are great and helpful. However recently I had a squirrel in my home and called the emergency number early morning. I called the main number when they opened and they said an inspector has to call me back to schedule coming out. They said they would call me back the same day. A call never came- I instead called local wildlife control services to help me who came that day. I had to call them the following day to complain and reach someone on the phone to try to help when I already used another service. This company handles mice, and insects control great, and the techs that come out are well knowledgeable, but the office needs to improve. read more

No one showed up despite of contacting them multiple times, and did not even receive a rewsponse from them. Just cancelled service - have used them since April, it is now December, to kill mice. Yet I still have them. Not sure where they are coming from but just had a new stove delivered and there are 2 holes behind my stove that have not been fixed by them, although they said they did look behind my stove. I called this branch 4 x asking for a manager and he did not call me back until Corporate escaladed my call. I missed his call and have now called him twice again with no response. I will find someone else to help me with my mouse problem. read more

Orkin uses a national call center. We had a simple issue -- a wasp's' nest in the base of our garage door jamb. Well the rep at the call center made it as if it was a huge problem. Told me they treated it from "basement to attic". Only then I told him it was in a garage and not in the house. The amount quoted was $399. I told him it was more then I wanted to spend and the call courteously ended. I called a local guy and he quoted me $150. Fair enough, and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. (If it had been any more money, I would have done it myself with some delta dust.). Orkin called back quickly after the call ended to try to negotiate on their quoted price. I know local operators can't control how corporate works. But Orkin corporate needs to reassess how they work. So, my advice: never take the first price that Orkin corporate quotes you. Tell them its too expensive and end the call. Await their call back and counter at 1/2 of what was quoted. Its a chessy way to do business IMO. read more

In June 2021 we canceled all services with Orkin effective 7/16/2021 as we were closing the sale of our house on that date. Notice was given by telephone and by mail. However, despite ample advance notice, they continued to bill us for services not provided to us (as we no longer owned that property). We have repeatedly advised them, 3 or 4 times each by phone and by returning their invoices marked sold as-of 7/16/21 that service was canceled as-of 7/16/21. Today, I receive a notice from a collection agency! Be advised Orkin may attempt to blackmail you should you attempt to cancel service. They are incompetent, dishonest, or both. Setup an appointment for today, 9/11 for an inspection for a pest issue. I was told the window was 12-2. Called around 3:57 pm to ask where they are, since I'm waiting around the house for the technician to show. Was told they should've called if they were running late, but I'd be moved up the list as a priority, and I'd be contacted on an ETA. It is now 6:26 and didn't receive a phone call or an email, or anything. I contacted this company because I figured a big company would've been better than this. Guess I'll be contacting the local pest companies and seeing which of them want my business, because it's clear Orkin doesn't. read more

Well it's that time of the year. Cicada Killing Wasps have invaded my outdoor entry space. When I killed one, two more would take its place. Although they claim that they rarely sting people, I didn't like them hovering around my front door. They like to kind of dive bomb you when you enter or leave the house. So I had enough. I called Adam the Orkin man to make them go away "permanently". He came and sprayed the grass and around my house, but they did come back. So Adam came back and did a more thorough spraying. I'm crossing my fingers that I won't have to call him back a third time. No matter what, he came back the same day I called again. You can't ask for better service than that. The cost to kill these pests was $300. They give you a 30 day guarantee; so make sure they're gone. read more

Felt compelled to write a review after discovering how they used their bait boxes to treat for rodents at our hous. Bait boxes were not weighted nor where they tethered to the ground which I found out is illegal. Luckily, we have corrected ourselves. Thank you Orkin Pest Control for taking good care of us! From West coast to the East coast, ORKIN is still the best company out their in my opinion. I've been an on going customer since 2008. I got my start with them when I had black widow spiders in my house in Reno NV. Once Orkin got started my problems were solved! Their guys took the time to check my house thoroughly inside and out, including the garage. They were careful about what SAFE solutions they put down inside my house because of my cat, dog and my fish tank. (Please note: I had a 75 gal fresh water fish tank positioned by a room in which I kept finding the black widows inside. Every time their guy would come over to service my house, they would have me shut off the fish tank pump and put a plastic cover over the whole tank, so they could spray around the area. I would also open up my house windows to allow ventilation so the solution would dry faster. Then after about 20 minutes, it would be safe to uncover the fish tank and start the pump again. They also worked with me on understanding how to be more proactive against pests such as spiders by advising me its always a good idea to have any bushes/vines/trees trimmed back so they aren't touching the house. That's your best defense on lessoning the amount of spiders you get into your house and garage. I started Orkin's service on our house in Stamford CT right after our purchase last June 2016 finding mice/bat droppings in our attic, spiders and Asian Lady beetles (that look like ladybugs) in our kitchen. Again, Orkin took the time to discuss issues with us about the house and their game plan of treatment. Orkin's guys put down bait traps outside near the house for the mice and some old fashion traps in the attic to catch mice. They also took pieces of steel wool to put up into the cracks around the chimney inside the attic that you could see exposed to day light that the bats were coming in by. In the garage they filled in some cracks/holes that mice were coming in near the door way entrances. We also took the time to trim back our boxwood bushes (about 3 inches) around the house so nothing was touching the house. Here it is, over a year later and we have no issues. Please note a change in seasons might having us calling Orkin to come over for a free treatment in between our regular schedule to keep on top of things. We continue on our 6 month plan of treatment (they come over every other month.) They always contact us with a post card in the mail 2 weeks prior giving us the day they will be coming over and then a phone call the day before as a reminder along with the time they will be arriving. If at anytime your not going to be home just give them a call so they can reschedule with what works best for you. They are wonderful at accommodating. If you ever have any questions or concerns, call them. They want to do the BEST job possible for you. They want happy customers! Their guys are friendly, professional and are happy at what they do. They all say Orkin is a great company to work for! We are thrilled to hear this because the results are all that much better at working as a team to solve problems/issues. We continue as happy customers and highly recommend them! read more

BE CAREFUL. The way Orkin works is they have a National call center answering. They create an appointment for you that suits your schedule perfectly. The problem is that the appointment is COMPLETELY FAKE. They collect your credit card and confirm a fake appointment that is pushed out to their franchisees. They don't even have access to the franchisees availability. They don't care. The franchisees then inform you that they can't honor the appointment (which is what always happens) and they then try to retain / trap you because you are already committed. Don't commit. Don't give your card. Don't trust the appointment. Don't call this company. go with a local family business. read more

I took the afternoon off so I could be at the house to let them in. They were coming to check and reset mice traps. At 4PM when no one showed up, I called multiple times and left messages ,as the recording said they were busy and someone would get back to me. I called and emailed and let her know that no one showed up. By 5PM I had to leave and could no longer wait. I received the attached invoice from Orkin saying they were out at my house at 5:29PM spraying for ants. Ants? That is not what they were suppose to be doing and I explicitly asked them to never spray insecticides anywhere near my house! My complaint is that they never showed up or called during the expected appointment time, sprayed chemcials at my house when they were asked to not do so, forged my initials on the invoice, never returned my calls or emails. I will never use Orkin again and have lost complete confidence in this business and will report to the BBB. I have filed a dispute with my credit card as well. read more

No stars. Called re bee problem told dispatcher bees up 20 ft. in wall of house. Made appointment for 10-12...they arrived after 1 to tell me they had no ladder (even though I had told them). Rescheduled next day...at a time costing me money as well as time when guy came with ladder but said it wasn't do-able because ground uneven. Had no suggestion or recommendation for how to get rid of bees. What profession is this? Awful experience. read more

My place got a minor case of bed bugs and Orkin was the business we decided to go with to do treatment. At first everything seemed promising. But after 4 treatments, I was still finding bed bugs. We did everything they asked off us, even got ride of the mattresses to be safe so all they had to treat was the surrounding areas. The person who calls themselves a professional was named Robert and he is the worse. He seemed like a nice guy but he treated us all 4 times and he did a terrible job. The last 2 times he came and treated my place, I found bed bugs within 12 hours of him spraying in places he claimed he had sprayed. Robert and Orkin do not get the job done. read more

I cannot say with certainty, but Orkin appears to be the worst company in America. I ordered service for a house I was moving into. They came for the initial visit, which was around $275. Fine, no problem. They were then supposed to continue coming for 6 visits per year, which would be $115 each. Again, no problem. Then they never came back, but instead continued to charge me for visits they never made. They refused to refund my $230 for service that never took place. Luckily my credit card expired and they were then unable to charge me any longer, however, now they continue to report my credit as delinquent. And again, I never received anything but the initial service. You are better off DIY pest control yourself. Anyone at Home Depot or Lowes should be able to point you in the right direction. Please don't trust Orkin, they are horrific! read more
