Mike came over to help me with a rat infestation. He checked the house inside and out. He told me how bad he thought it was and told me what could be done. He was straightforward about the cost, the time needed and how effective each method would be. In the end based on the honest information he gave me, I chose to change my habits which had contributed to the rat problem in the first place and am considering hiring someone to fill in the stone foundation. Mike is an amazingly patient and knowledgable exterminator. He offered to come to my home for a free inspection and was so thorough, getting right to issue and finding the source. Despite the fact that I was ready to exterminate for the issue we were having, he took into account that fact that I was pregnant and would soon have a newborn and offered steps we could take before jumping into extermination. When what looked like a yellow jacket zoomed out of a little hole in the side of my front porch I thought, "not again!" About 10 years ago this happened and I got stung on my face and near the corner of my eye. So I looked up pest control sites and decided to call Apex because they had such positive reviews. Mike called me back and set a time to come out the next day. He saw in short order that the problem was a yellow jacket nest in the front porch siding. He quoted me a reasonable price, explained what he would do to get rid of the yellow jackets, and said that if I wanted to proceed he could take care of it right away. I definitely wanted it taken care of right away! He went and put on his bee keeper protection suit while I went in the house and stayed there. After about 20-30 minutes he rang the bell, I wrote him a check ( he does also take credit cards) and he gave me information about what to expect. He was very knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and professional. I hope I don't have any more insect problems, but if I do, I will definitely be calling Apex Pest Control! read more

Mike is the BUG MAN!! He is honest, thorough and affordable! He backs his work for 60 days and will not charge you anything more if he has to come back for another application. Every year I get tiny ants in the strangest parts of my house, so Mike has investigated where they made their way into my house! I guess you can say he knows how they act and where they come from! My house is on the market and 2 days before a showing, the ants appeared. Last thing I need is to have people come through and think that my house is gross bc I have tiny ants. Mike was able to come before the showing, spray the ants, and no trace of them anywhere. However, a few showed up 2 days before the home inspection. Guess who came and handled it with no extra charge?! Yup, Mike! If it wasn't for Mike at Apex, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. He was professional and personable enough that I found myself talking to him probably more than I should have. He did an inspection of my basement for new termite activity and found none. He put down something in the house that was pet safe and then took care of the outside. After he left I haven't had any more ants. He did a good job, didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and made having him in my home a pleasant experience. 10/10 would hire him again. read more

Mike and his crew were complete professionals. They came out and explained what needed to be done, and more importantly in my case, what did not need to be done. I am trying to close on a house and the home inspector who did the job for the buyer said he saw termite activity. I was told that my house needs termite treatment every 3-5 years when I first purchased it, so I called Mike as it was "time" for a retreatment. Mike told me over the phone that I probably don't need any treatment and came out to take look for free. He took the time to inspect the house and shed and found no evidence of new termite activity and would not recommend any treatment as I didn't need any. Called Mike about six weeks ago with a huge hornet problem around our house. He happened to be in the area, and about two hours later our house was essentially hornet free. Mike has been a family friend for a very long time. When we had an ant problem last year (it looks like they were coming in from the slab) Mike came right over and explained what he would do. He sprayed everywhere, cabinets, basement, the ceiling (drop ceilings downstairs) outside, including all window crevices, and along the siding. He even sprayed for bees and destroyed any nests that we did not see. He told me after a week, if we still see them to call him back, and any re-spraying is free. I had a few lingering, and he sprayed and they have not been back since. He offered us a great price, and the re-spray being free, it was a great service.
