Not even 1 star is worthy of this company. I asked them to remediate a rodent problem. The service man showed up promptly, I thought listened to what I said, and laid 2 traps in the attic, saying there was no evidence of rats. Proceeded to dust exterior of home for spider webs (apparently part of the service) but never bothered to look for intrusion points of the rodent. Rats continued for 3 days, with no show from Orkin. BTW, Orkin attempted to sell me an annual package, $313 for initial visit , $110 monthly. I knew I was in trouble when the man showed up with a clipboard and asked me to sign a bunch of documents. I "negotiated" the one time $313 fee which included unlimited visits for a month. After 3 days I called a 2nd company. This service man immediately found the intrusion points, stuccoed it shut, went to the attic and found the traps laid nowhere near where the rats were entering (of course since Orkin never looked for this), found evidence of rats, which again Orkin couldn't or didn't look for. Orkin was scheduled to return so he told me to have Orkin lay traps by the intrusion points in the attic. Another Orkin service man showed up - I explained to him that his colleague did not seal the intrusion points and asked him to lay traps at the attic intrusion points. 2 more sleepless nights passed. I called the other company, he came out and found Orkin's traps nowhere near where I'd asked them to be placed. There is so much more but I'm so over this horrible company - they should be condemned by the Better Business Bureau and be put out of business. read more

Like most people, I don't typically bother reviewing businesses unless they have provided exceptional services or products. The other instance is when a business has failed miserably... which is the case here. My wife and I have twice rearranged our schedules (work and personal) to be available for them to come perform the service. The first time they showed up 2.5hrs late when we were no longer available and had to move on with other commitments. The second time they showed up on time, but communicated we needed to vacate the property for 2hrs.... this is after the company had repeatedly communicated we could be home (we work from home) during the service. The technician shared that the customer service department routinely gets things wrong with field staff. Save your time. We've wasted enough already and won't proceed with them as I'm sure this level of unprofessionalism and inconsistency is sure to be continued. read more

I had an appointment today for an estimate and they never came or called. Tried calling and got a robot - not helpful!

A rep came out for an inspection, he seemed very nice, gave a verbal estimate, I was OK with it and was told he the quote would be sent to me the following day, after many days had passed, and calling the rep multiple times, left voice messages and called the office, NOT a single response from anyone. Not even a courtesy return call, what a complete disrespect to people, wasted my time and had to postpone all my other plans, and when you call the office, it goes to a call center. The name Orkin may sound legit, but the people running the business are not credible. DON"T waste your time. They don't care. read more

It appears Orkin offers trapping services regardless of contracting for exclusion; Regardless, by the end of the first day I called (yesterday), they installed over 10 snap-traps and removed the 3 traps from Western which were empty. By that evening one Orkin trap sounded to have snapped--Orkin returns today to confirm. I will update my review if I can. Prior to calling Orkin, Western (Van Nuys) came out twice and by the end of the second call had only laid three snap-traps for a 1800 square foot home. They insisted that I contract with them for exclusion services and scheduled these a week out. In the meantime, there is a disease-ridden, wire-chewing rat in my attic. I understand the need to set up exclusion but that should never ever overshadow the immediate need to destroy existing rodents!!!!!. After my complaining they managed to eek out the three snap traps total. I think they ran out of traps and were stalling for time until the soonest available appointment with their estranged installers. I left this review as a 1-Star rating for Western. read more

After years of my wife and I having service with Orkin, they became a completely different company. Less customer service oriented, management horrible to deal with. The spray inside the house went from bad to worse making me very ill even though we took the necessary precautions recommended. When we requested a discount for only spraying just the exterior, the request was denied. ( Mind you we have a large yard and the never sprayed the whole exterior. They even limited what we could do.) The supervisor insisted there would be no discount because our tech spends an hour doing our service. Funny how our last visit before canceling was only 45 minutes....as most of them are. Based on that we're glad to be done with Orkin! read more

They won't give you a free estimate. They lied. You first have to become a paid member of their monthly pest control services first. When you have to buy something to get something free, then it's not free. Free is free. No obligations... free. It's sad to see this company to be involved with false advertising. Needed minor service and shifty salesman said no problem, talked me into 4 treatments. Upon the 4th treatment, I called and cancelled service. Got a call a few weeks later from the manager saying I signed a contract for 7 months of service. I asked for a copy of the contract. He said he'd email it but never did. I called again asking for the contract. He said he's email it but never did. Then they charged my credit card for the following month AND never even provided service. Had to call the credit card company to handle. These guys are a scam! Plus the actual service is something I could buy at the store and spray around the perimeters. read more

In my entire life I have never experienced a service person so resistant to do his job! He literally gave off the air that I was there to serve him and that he was being inconvenienced by me. He did a walk through the house. He did not move anything away from the walls, stood 6 plus feet away and used a tiny purse size flashlight held high above his head! I then politely asked him to check from the outside of the house. He walked behind the house and literally disappeared. I had to go search for him, open at my insistence the heater air conditioner closet. He never looked under the house; nor did he open the closet containing the water heater. Every single other Company (three more free estimates) did all of these requirements without resistance. In fact I did not even have to ask! I will never again use Orkin pest control service. I am a customer for many years . I had their termite inspection on 8/6/19. It was stated that I had no termites at all. When I went to sell my house on 4/12/20 a different inspection found that I had lots of termites for years. I asked for a refund of my bi monthly charges due to the missed perceptions of Orkin and they refused any compensation. I cancelled my service because of there poor workmanship! This is a national known company. What poor service and workmanship! I will never use Orkin again,ever!!!! read more

I was told my Richard Fisher, an Orkin rep, that I would be receiving a discount of 10%-instead of $161 for first visit it would be $100.00-I thought that odd, because that math doesn't add up-but that is what he said. He also added, my second visit would also be $100.00- He also asked me to send him pictures of bugs that I had taken and needed to be eradicated. Come to find out today, RICHARD FISHER WAS IN ATLANTA(i am in LA)...AND DIDN'T PUT IN ANY NOTES ABOUT ANY KIND OF DISCOUNT... AND WHY DID I SEND HIM PICTURES OF BUGS when HE TOLD ME I SHOULD SHOW MY TECHNICIAN WHEN HE COMES OUT, THE PICTURES OF THE BUGS...a sales/marketing technique. AGAIN, WHAT WAS THE POINT OF SENDING TO HIM! I changed my window this morning from 2-4 to 12-2 via another Orkin rep who called me and btw, also told me, my tech would be inspecting the crawl space. When Francisco, the service person arrived, he informed me, they never go in crawl spaces. He then told me about the contract I would be signing and there was no record of any discount. Together we called the local office and I spoke to the office manager who basically said there was nothing that could be done as there was no record of a discount offered. THIS IS THE VERY REASON I DON'T CALL BIG CORPORATIONS....what a cluster&*&&- SHADY AND UNPROFESSIONAL! NEEDLESS TO SAY, I DIDN'T SIGN ANY CONTRACT NOR HAVE ANY SERVICE... Wow.....paid $95 for an in home inspection and estimate for service and after paying, they refused to put the estimate in writing but gave me a verbal estimate of $8,000, which was outlandishly high.... Aren't i entitled to have it in writing since i paid for it...? Looking forward to any response from orkin on this one..! read more

We called around looking for a company that would GO UNDER THE HOUSE not just snap-trap our rat issue. We needed to know what they had been chewing on and if we needed to address any bio-hazard with the poop & pee they must surely have left behind. They swore Orkin goes under the house although no other company said they would. They sent 3 guys out here - VERY OFFICIAL-LIKE to check it all out. Seemed like for our $300+ they would take care of the situation and do all that we needed. From that day fwd we had 1 guy come check the snap traps weekly for a month and thats it. Now we've gotten the run-around since our month service contract is over with. They DO NOT go under the house (tell your phone estimators that!) and they DO NOT do anything but maintain snap traps. We could have done this ourselves and saved the money but they lied and promised what they would not deliver. Trust me once the contract is over and you're not satisfied you're not going to get anything further from them.... They don't want to hear it. read more

I have nver posted a review but this is upsetting. I have used orkin under contract for about 4 years. They recently raised the prices without asking. Then when I was on vacation my house sitter informed me there was a moth infestation. I contacted Damian at Orkin. He is normally the person who visits although the representative has changed at least three times. He delayed getting back to me, then said they dont handle my problem but referred me to his boss. He in turn called once but never replied to me once I called him back. In the meantime I have had moths, and large distroy an Elk mount. I contact a better company and they came out right away and treated it. This is the worst company ever. Stop now before you are damaged, disappointed, and deceived. read more

We had our home tented and fumigated in February. The company that did the tenting and fumigation was Best Care Fumigation which was subcontracted through Orkin Pest Control. When we signed the contract with Orkin we were repeatedly assured that there was very little to no risk to the tile on our roof. When the tenting was removed there were numerous broken tile as well as a broken vent cap. Neither Orkin Pest Control or Best Care Fumigation assumed responsibility for nor was willing to repair the damages. We had to pay $600 to have the damages repaired. Since the fumigation contract had a damage liability waiver, both companies concerned are relying upon this to not accept responsibility for their unprofessional handling of this matter. If posting this review alerts other unsuspecting home owners from having the same situation through Orkin Pest Control and/or Best Care Fumigation I will feel justified. read more
