We started with Sloan Pest Control several years ago. They are now Allguard. Things started out good but went downhill hill. We have several dogs and need to keep them in the house when we get service. We were getting advance notice with the time of service. Then just getting a text message with the day of service. I'd have to call and would be told a general time frame. We canceled the last service call and called to cancel our service all together. The next thing we know is a technician shows up without notice. We sent home away. We have been trying for 3 week to get Allguard to credit our credit card. 3 phone calls with promises to credit us. Still waiting! Well, it's been 2 weeks since my review. No refund yet. 2 weeks ago we were promised a phone call back, not a word. 2 days ago my wife left a rather angry voicemail. I am not surprised by the most recent reviews, they are quite frankly unfortunate. They offer validation and a glimpse into the services this company provides, or doesn't provide. While the technicians are always professional and friendly, the business office is a complete disaster. I have used their services for years, and during 2020 the companies finance department began having issues. In an effort to support a small business, during the start of a pandemic, I set the billing issues aside. To date, October 2022, their billing practices have continued to regress, require hours of my time (month after month) because they are either: 1. Auto-billing and then sending delinquent notices, only to say error and clear balance. (That's if you can get someone on the phone!) or 2. They stop auto-billing you, without notice, and then send an email, over $80, threatening collections. (Mind you I have been a long standing customer, who has always paid) A simple phone call or email explaining situation would have been welcomed. As a family on active duty it felt good to support a "small" Veteran owned businesses. If you can overlook administrative and financial management incompetence, that has potential to impact your credit score, you will be happy with their service. For me the countless emails, phone calls and tracking required to baby sit a company has been unacceptable. At this point, I should send them a bill to request payment for the time spent weeding through their mess, small business or not, they were hired to perform a service that included: showing up, auto-drafting my account and communicating as needed. My husband is both an active duty service member and a Ventura County Realtor, so going with AllGuard seemed like a no brainer. We've used them in the past, but sadly they've completely lost our trust and our business. They used to be super responsive and helpful, but now we are going on 1 week of unanswered questions, emails and voicemails. I even copied the owner, James, on our last email attempt and have still have not heard back. We are just at a loss for how they could treat their customers like this. We definitely would NOT recommend using them. And if by chance this somehow gets their attention, we would still really appreciate a response, Allguard. read more

I'm not really sure what happened to Allguard. They use to provide us a good service of bi-monthly pest control and keeping our house waves clear of any webs. During our last bi-weekly service we noticed that the eaves were left a complete mess of webs. I called back and requested to have someone come out and clear the webs out of the eaves as that it part of the service we pay for. I requested that the RV access side gate and the eaves needed to be cleared of webs. After the second time of having someone out. They didn't even bother to touch the RV access gate. I called Allguard back to ask if they can have another technician out since the last two times it wasn't done correctly. They said they would call me back. Well, they never called me back. So here I am writing this review, frustrated. Canceled our service and will go to someone else who can get the job done just right! read more

My review isn't about the actual services but the business practices. When you sign the "agreement" know that you are signing a year long contract with cancellation fees. My own fault for not reading all the fine print however at no point was that brought up by the technician. I was lead to believe that this service was a monthly service and exactly that. The staff was pleasant and tried to "work" with me on the cancellation fees, however, again, at some point during the sale of the contract it should have been mentioned that this was going to be for a year. read more

I was impressed by every aspect of their service: they respond quickly, the people who work for them are knowledgeable and efficient, and they take care in their work. We needed some touch up work done after a major fumigation a few years ago. Someone came out and carefully looked at all of the spots showing termite activity. Then two other people came out to spot treat about a week later. All of the technicians were friendly and took their time doing the work. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I called them during a crisis with my flea infestation in my home. Susan was able to get James over to my house the same day and asses the infestation. I am ecstatic to say my house is FLEA FREE after one treatment. Sure we still have the eggs to kill which the second treatment is scheduled. What I love most is that it's pet and baby friendly to enter your home once sprayed. We also had an issue with a mice in the house due to living next to the fields in Oxnard and James set a few traps out and came back a week later to check on the traps. We haven't caught anything yet but so far we don't see any evidence of the mice so I'll take that as a plus. I would HIGHLY recommend you using this company for your pest control issues. I'm going to start by saying the technicians at all guard are all perfectly nice, and do a great job. But there is a reason why there is a one star review. I've been using all guard for a couple of years now. Back in February, my credit card expired. I went online and updated my information on their website. I continued to get emails that my credit card was declined. I contacted them by phone and email on several occassions. When I spoke to them on the phone, they just said to go on their website and update it. Even though I had already done that, I did it again. I stopped getting notices about the card being declined, so I didnt think anything of it. They never bothered to reach out to me. They continued to provide services. And suddenly out of nowhere I get a call from a collection company. So rather than All guard following up with me that they were having problems receiving payment, they just sent me straight to collections. Bear in mind, I had been trying to correct this issue with them, and assumed it was resolved when I stopped being notified that they couldnt process my payment. I immediately paid the collections company, because I had no idea there was an outstanding bill. But I went ahead and called All Guard to give them a piece of my mind. And the owner literally digs in to me accusing me of having them servicing my property, and not paying them. Wow, mind blown. Their incompetent staff, and broken website created this scenario. And they blamed me. So yeah, we're done. You're fired! If your staff ever comes to my property again, they will be arrested for trespassing. read more

We called Allguard to come take care of what turned out to be carpet beetles. I was extremely concern concerned about my animals because they are tiny dogs. I asked that they open windows prior to leaving. When I arrived home after they recommend two hours later there was Oder. It's day 5 now and we have zero bugs. I'm thrilled. Price was very fair. After seeing great reviews on Yelp I called to see if Allguard could check out my attic to see if there was an unwanted critter. I only heard it one night but was afraid it was destroying insulation. My request was that the person not come into my house if they had worked with any chemicals that day because I'm very sensitive to chemical smells. The receptionist arranged for a day and time when the owner could come without having previously worked with anything that could be problematic. All went well. James came in, immediately gave me his card, and checked out my attic, vents and crawl space. He took photos in the attic and said it all looked clean--critter free. Same with under the house. There was no charge and we decided there must have been something on my roof one night that could have jumped two feet from a neighbor's tree. I was pleased with James' professionalism, friendliness and thorough inspection. Next I will have a termite inspection by their specialist. This is the first Yelp review I've written for anyone. I just wanted to give a positive review for the team here. We had service with a well known national company and, from the beginning, things were a little shady. Their service performed was ok, but they never gave us pricing options leading us to believe that an annual contract was the only way to obtain service costing well over $400. In July, renewal time came but we received no renewal notice, just a surprise bill. I wasn't too happy with that and we cancelled. After looking around we decided to stick with a locally owned company and I came across Allguard. I saw all of the positive reviews. I also noted that they were based in Ventura and everything from Veteran owned to LGBTQ friendly. Figuring that they've got the spectrum covered, we decided it was definitely worth a shot. I gave them a call and set up the initial inspection for ants and spiders and got great service from Sergio who happily answered all of my questions and explained multiple pricing options with no BS. I've been an Allguard customer for a few years and they've always been great. I'm arachnophobic and had a huge spider problem that was affecting my daily life (it sounds stupid but I couldn't even go out and enjoy my backyard), and this service gave me so much peace of mind. It was also less expensive and seemed more effective than the company I was using previously. They send out service date reminders so I can make sure my dogs are inside. Allguard is as good as the people that show up on the job. For a home fumigation Allguard sub-contract to one of the many Pest Control companies around. Some are better than others. That is why I specifically asked Allguard for a particular company which I had investigated. However, I was sent, without notification, another Pest Control company. That company, "Quality Pest Control", acted very unprofessionally and I would not recommend them to anyone. Their tarp was old and very dirty. Full of holes which had been patched. They arrived one hour earlier than scheduled without calling to inform me. Their lead man rescheduled the appointment and again arrived earlier that day without notification. The lead man asked that I give him the key to my home, leave and go about my business. He used my own ceiling fan as oppose to using the company's own equipment. Since all doors and drawers had to be open, some had lights left on, instead of unplugging the accessories (microwave), (kitchen oven) he assured me that they would go-off automatically and I shouldn't worry about it. This is an outright lie. I could go on and on. The bottom line is that Allguard did not follow up properly on the order I had contracted with them. I strongly do not recommend "Quality Pest Control" and subsequently "Allguard" for using their services. read more

If you have rodents in your attic I recommend contacting Allgaurd for an honest and practical approach for dealing with the problem. Several services pushed replacement of all of my attic insulation which would cost thousands of dollars. One of the appraisers from a competitor only popped his head I the attic. James owner of Allgaurd and his team team did a thorough job during the inspection and identified the exact point of entry the rodents we're getting in from. They sealed point for a reasonable price. This is the second time I have contacted Allguard for pest control assistance. The first required massive amounts of work to rid the attic of rats but Allguard succeeded. They were prompt, professional, and capable each time they came to the house throughout the treatment process. This time we called for assistance with what we thought were chiggers. The technician did a very thorough investigation and inspection of the infected area was able to identify the problem as bird mites. Again, Allguard answered our inquiry promptly and courteously and showed up when they said they would. No unnecessary waiting around on our end. The treatment they suggested was also practical and fairly priced. I would use them again. read more
