They had me clear out my entire closet for moth spray and rescheduled me for two weeks because there person cancelled on the day of without even notifying me. Ridiculous. Hit and run! Their driver slammed into two vehicles this morning in Forest Hills, Queens. He lied and said that he was going to leave all of his information with the two other drivers. We watched him pretend to pull his car over only to take off at high speed! We were all completely flabbergasted. I called the business multiple times. Very unhappy with my recent experience with Orkin. We paid a very high up-front fee for them to manage a serious situation at our home (flying squirrels getting into the walls of our house). Gary inspected the situation and was very nice and responsive, until he wasn't. The team showed up once, a second time, and never again. The service states that Orkin will return until the problem is remediated, but they did not return and my problem is definitely not remediated. I scheduled them to return 3 other times and they never showed up. My problem is exactly the same as it was before they came, except that now I am down the full amount of the remediation but squirrels are still entering my house. We are extremely unhappy and frustrated. Looking for better service. Save your money. read more

I am writing this review due to Orkin's customer service. We had no show's twice in three days (03/29/24 & again on 04/02/2024). No communication from the branch, nothing. This has been frustrating as someone had to reschedule their whole day to be home at that time. When it comes to the service, once a technician is here, they do amazingly. Horrible! Over the last 2 yrs our NYC office has 8-10 different people. Only 1 of the 8 had any idea of what he was talking about. They have no formal training on insects, rodents or any other pest they are called in to control. I also hate that they kept changing our service guy. Like I said we had one guy we actually liked and who knew what he was talking about except as usual without notice someone new would show up. We do not like just letting any random person in not knowing who they are etc.. I dont know if this location is the only office that serves our district but its awful. read more

I requested treatment for fleas. I tried to take care off it the first time by myself treating my dog with capstar and frontline, using flea spray on all furniture, washing all bedding, towels, clothes on hot and drying in hot which shrank some clothing. I replaced my living room rug and steam cleaned my couch. I felt I defeated them. I gave my dog her second dose of frontline exactly 30 days after the first. A few days later we were at the vet's office for something unrelated and I noticed black flecks that looked like pepper. It was flea dirt which is the same as poop. When I went back to my house I started the whole washing drying vaccuming routine again but I seized to call an exterminator-Orkin. I was told to clear unnecessary things out of the way and that he would spray all floors and in the yard. The technician came he spoke very little English. He wasn't interested in treating the ground floor of my brownstone because we mostly use it for storage but we are down there sometimes and it connects to the other floors that we use. He started spraying the corners and baseboards with a can that looked similar to the one I used that I bought on Amazon. Then he sprayed directly on the pillows which I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to do. I completely got rid of one that was already falling apart and washed the others even tho he told me all I needed was to wipe them down using a napkin. I asked to see the can and it was the equivalent to what I bought on Amazon but made by a different manufacturer. I looked up the name and there it was for sale on Amazon. After seeing him spray directly on the pillows, I curtailed any further spraying to rugs, baseboards, corners etc. Every time I made a comment or asked a question he said "Ma'am, this isn't my first time." Condescension-great. I couldn't wait to get him out of my house. He concluded by telling the fumes are toxic and I should leave the house only 1 hour because he barely sprayed What did I just pay for?? Spraying with something I could have bought on Amazon? He never sprayed outside which I was promised. In short, he did the same thing i did. I called Orkin and they offered my a full refund so that's why I gave it two stars Instead of one read more

Called Orkin for termite inspection. Technician called me and set up an appointment. Nobody showed up at scheduled time. Call the technician and he said he is very busy and rescheduled an appointment. The second day still nobody showed up. Technician phone was not answering and it was impossible to leave a message as the message box was full. Called central office and they promised to call me back. No calls or any other communications at all. Can't tell how good they are performing their job, but considering their customer relations I would not expect good quality. read more

Do NOT book Orkin. They are severely overpriced compared to competitors. Additionally, I waited two hours for their service to arrive with no correspondence from the company. I was told they would call back in 20 minutes (an hour into when my service was supposed to arrive) and they never returned my call. Find someone else to save you the headache. We have a hornet problem. I was very specific with the person who answered the phone and made the appointment. I explained the nest was in the 2nd floor in the gutter. She set an appointment for 3 days later and took the payment info over the phone. It was going to cost 341.00. The guy arrived, took one look at the location and said "we don't do that - call Richmond Pest Control. They do everything." Wasted my time when I could have been looking for someone else who might have actually been able to help. They should stick to ants and bedbugs...pests that don't fly. read more

Stunningly poor service and absolutely no regard for customers. I called yesterday for service due to an ant issue. I was told that we were already due for service that day, but that they would get someone over "as soon as possible". At 4:00 pm I called again, and was told that due to weather, they were delayed, but would be there "first thing in the morning". I call this morning, and speak with "Reggie", who first told me that someone from Orkin arrived here at 11:00 am, and when I informed him that in fact that did not happen, was rude to me. After he argued with me, i contacted another company and called back to inform him that we would not continue using Orkin. "Fine, whatever" They charge too much for shoddy, rude service. It's hard to even give one star. I scheduled an appointment for an emergency issue. The only time slot was 4 to 6pm so i had to take half a day off of work. Nobody showed. The office closed at 5 so no local contacts. The call center could only tell me he should be on his way. Rescheduled for the next day. Again no show. No call no contact. I signed up for yelp just to review Orkin. They tried to cancel my appointment at the last minute. I made an appointment with Orkin for 12-2 p.m. I called what was listed as their NYC line, the number listed on Orkin's page on yelp. At 1 p.m. the day of the appointment, a representative in Orkin's local office in NYC called me to say that my appointment was scheduled for 3-5 p.m. and that no one would be able to make it because they only had one technician working that day. I told her that was unacceptable, and she said that even if I call the NYC line, that is a number in Atlanta not connected to their office, and the person in Atlanta doesn't coordinate with the NYC branch to schedule appointments. She indicated she would try to find someone to come, and I told her to call me ASAP to let me know if a technician would come or if no one would be able to come. I then called the number Orkin listed as their supposed NYC line again. I was put on hold for about 15 minutes while the Orkin representative called the NYC office. When the representative came back on the phone, he had nothing new to share and could not give me any sort of time frame for when I might get a response. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and he again put me on hold for about 10 minutes only to come back on the phone and say that a supervisor would call me back. A supervisor never called me back. The representative at the local office never called me back either. An Orkin technician did call me around 2:30 to say they were coming, but by that time, I was fed up and had found someone else to help me. I was offered no rebates, discounts, or other incentive to try to stay with Orkin and even if I was, I would not want to deal with their awful customer service and disorganization. read more
