Chili cheeseburger with side of chili cheese fries!

Tommy's has the BEST chili burgers! I've been craving their food for MONTHS so of course they were at the top of my list of places to eat at while visiting my family in Cali. I wish they would expand to other states so people can enjoy their delicious food. But I guess for now they will be a delicacy I can enjoy when I come back to my home state. Go to order is their chili cheeseburger with chili, cheese and onions with a side of chili cheese fries with onions (yes, I love onions!). I'm definitely going to miss enjoying their food since I don't currently live in Cali. But I highly recommend for anyone visiting or living here to try them when they can. Their chili is the best I've ever had!

We happened to be in the area and needed lunch. So we stopped in for Tommy's since it had been a while. We were disappointed, to say the least. First, we noticed how expensive it was. My cheeseburger meal was $15. We paid about $45 for 2 combos, chili fries, and a burger. I would be willing to pay the $45 if the food was worth it. But it wasn't. The cheeseburger was eh. The chili itself was more mushy than with whole beans. I was also sad to see Pepsi products instead of Coke. Despite the food, service was good. The lady at the counter was friendly. Store was clean too. And a side note, their restrooms don't have changing tables. I went to change my toddler and had to have her stand up to change her diaper. I didn't want her to have to lay on that ground.

Finally got to try Tommy's for the first time and I wish I had them sooner! I've known about them for a long time too, damn, where has the time gone?! I tried the chili burger that has tomato, onions and pickles with a good amount of chili-excellent. What a great idea to put chili in a burger. Really changes the dynamics and brings the burger to a different level. The regular fries we shared are thick cut, not oily or too salty and a good amount. Since we biked there, this was a good amount and did not feel overly full or heavy. In n Out is good, but from now on, the next time I'm craving a burger, I'm coming to Tommy's, hands down. They also have other interesting items too like the caliente burger or the chili tamal. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Bike racks right outside. Highly recommend!

I tried the Chili Breakfast Burrito at Tommy's, and it did not disappoint! The chili adds the perfect kick of flavor without being too heavy, and the burrito itself is packed and satisfying. The eggs and potatoes were cooked just right, and everything blended perfectly together. It's definitely a heavy breakfast option that hits the spot and will keep you full for most of the day! The drive-thru service is quick and efficient, and the restaurant is always clean and well-kept.

I used to love Tommy's, I went here recently and the ladies at the front counter were rude and snarky, I ordered a chili dog with no tomatoes and when I got it they put a huge full slice of tomato. On my hot dog. I took a picture and I'll add it to here as well. On top of that the chili fries they gave us had just a slice of cheese on top, not even melted. The people working here obviously don't give one flying fuck about service. I love Tommy's but I'm never coming back here. read more

I've been to this Tommy's a few times now and it's just about as good as every other Tommy's - Yes, even as good as the one in Los Angeles (I should know, I was raised on the original location's fries, graduated to chili cheese fries, and earned a master's degree in chili cheese burgers from there). I'm weary of all the reviews which compare it to "The Original". Blindfold them and give them a chili cheese burger from both locations and they probably couldn't tell the difference. Have I come sometimes and the service lacked? Yes. Has the flavor been a little "off" on occasion? Sure; I make my world famous Mac n' Cheese for every party, family gathering and event and guess what - **GASP** It doesn't always come out perfect!!!! I know, such a hard thing to fathom. Please. Anyway, like most chains, sometimes the service sucks, other times, it's great. My chili cheese always overflows: burgers or fries, there's always plenty. Also, if you REALLY want the "true" flavor of the original location, go drive to it. For a location that is a LOT closer, with LESS traffic to get it, this place is solid. read more

This Tommy Burger is the worst location...my experience with any other location when ordering a open face chili cheese burger with extra chili i never have an issue but every time i go to the Montclair location the alway and i mea always never get the order right ...I called an talked to the manager for that location and the lady didnt seem to care..,dont waste your money on this location!!!! Let me just say this...I've had Tommy's before so this is why I'm upset. I have been to plenty of locations to eat their chili cheese burger...yummiers!!! Today I visited this location and was so upset. I ordered a #2 and the order came out pretty quick. The fries were piping hot and delicious. Bit into my burger it was lukewarm. The chili wasn't hot, hot nor was the meat. The cheese wasn't all the way melted. I was soooooo disappointed because I had been craving this scrumptious meal for about a week. I would've complained but I'm always afraid that someone will tamper with my food. I'd recommend the food still, I just hope that I caught the establishment on a bad night...not that makes it better. read more

First time trying Tommy's. Heard so much about their burgers. Ordered 2 cheeseburgers with everything but not chili. Cheese fries and a chili cheese fries. Got home and had two chili cheese burgers. No lettuce. Cheese fries were disappointing to say the least. Chili fries okay Definitely not going back Will stay closer to home instead of driving so far! read more

Great food, shitty service. Drive thru staff were rude and made you feel rushed. I'll drive a little further and go to a different location rather than deal with stupid attitudes just to get some food. If the owners reading this, restaff. Came in on Wednesday morning to try the breakfast burrito with my husband, he'd been bragging about it for days... unfortunately the fryer was down due to electrical malfunction, the person working this morning, Alejandra was very kind and patient and her customer service was excellent, she explained to us and my husband (who is an electrician) what was going on, my husband gave her some little tips and 5 min later the machine started working! I witnessed customers come at the time of the chaos and gave mean bad attitude to the workers, people need to check themselves seriously it's not the employees fault, it's out of their control all they can do is explain the situation and offer what they can offer, is exactly what Alejandra did! I wouldn't hesitate to stop by any time and the wait was worth it the breakfast burrito was the bomb!!! read more

Tommy, you know what you're getting! Chili dogs and chili burgers are phenomenal. Sometimes they're really busy, because they are that good. People drive pretty far at all hours to get one of these. I would compare to The Hat minus the pastrami. read more

11/5/16 Today l went to Tommy's for the second time. I was very disappointed. My hamburger had some dry chili flavor. It tasted like powdery Chili and the bun like cardboard. Not Good! I also requested no musters. I said that 3 times. I don't know if they did this intentionally, but there was mustard on the burger wrapper a little on the top of the bun. Looks like they did it on purpose. That Sucks! I did not enjoy my burger. I do not think l will be coming to this Tommy's burger place again. Not worth the price l paid for my burger. I don't recommend this Tommy's. Looks like they will not honor requests, such as No Mustard. I changed my star rate to 1 star. read more

I am addicted to Tommy's. I used to eat it 1-4 times a week. This new location did something wrong with their chili. I have literally eaten at Tommy's hundreds of times in my life and I have never seen the chili as greasy as it was today. None of my fries were fry colored. They were all an atomic reddish orange. My fry carton was soaked completely through with grease within minutes. Something went wrong with their chili making process today. Definitely will not be going back to this location for a while. read more

Came here with my girlfriend for the first time! Since we were in the area and we were hungry. We went drive thru I ordered my usual at other tommy's I've been too which was a chili cheese burger with everything add chopped chilies and well-done/crispy chili cheese fries. My girlfriend ordered the chili cheese hot dog the same way as my burger. I thought the drive thru wait was fast and efficient. When I got up to the pay window I noticed there were a lot of workers which was awesome because they were cranking out the food fast. Once we got our food I always ask for extra yellow chilies since I'm Korean I love the spice! We took are food home fast and devoured it, everything was still warm and tasted fresh. The fries were cooked awesome not soggy and stuff. Overall I gotta say great new tommy's in the area. read more

I've been going to Tommy's since my Mom carried me in her belly so quite naturally when I noticed Tommy's was opening on Central, I couldn't wait!! Well, we came and had a "chili" burger only problem is, there wasn't much chili which was quite disappointing We figured perhaps this was an isolated incident and so we went again a few days later and again, very little chili on our "chili burger" Well, 3rd times supposed to be a charm and yes, we tried 1 more time and believe it or not but this burger had least amount of chili Overall, they have a friendly staff which was refreshing but unless they actually put CHILI on the burger, I might not be back Come on Tommy's time to deliver the chili on the "chili" burger you're famous for!!! If/when the chili is actually saturating my burger then I'll change the stars! read more

Me and my family came here Sunday evening We love tommys I'm giving this 3 star review because of the fact that I'm trying to enjoy my meal with my family next thing you know a worker starts vacuuming there rugs I'm all about keeping the place clean ect wiping down tables sweeping even mopping but this vacuum was the loudest oldest thing ever I couldn't even hear my husband talk and he was sitting right across from me. Mind you it was a Sunday evening so the place was pretty packed ... Everyone stopped and were even startled by the noise ... And it don't help that my 2 year old is deathly afraid of loud noises I would suggest getting one of those powerless ones that u just need to roll over the carpet or even just sweep the carpet clean ... And do the vacuuming at night with no customers .. Sorry rant over read more

What a fool...ignore that review...Tommy's is so good and is the original chili burger, the chili is always good and the burgers always fresh, both melding together to make this perfect pairing, can't go wrong with Tommy's. Never again. I always feel like crap after eating this. I had chili cheese fries and a tamale and I ate 1/4 of the tamale and only the fries with not so much chili. Super rich and greasy, I gave the rest to my hubby. read more

Brought my youth group and everyone loved it! Not sure why so many are giving low reviews! It's Tommy's, it's going to be greasy, that's part of the experience Also, there was always someone on the floor cleaning tables. Nice to see that in a fast food place. read more

When I asked to speak to a manager, apparently there is no manager there in the evenings, I told the woman who came to the counter that every single burger was wrong and showed her the receipt. She asked what was wrong about them, so I started going down the list and she never offered to remake it the right way or really offered any remedy so I said just refund the whole thing if you're not going to even offer to make it right. If I have to do your quality check, and unwrap every item to scrutinize it, I would rather just not give your restaurant my business. I tried to get in touch with their corporate office and they have not responded in a week. Looks like the whole thing is going downhill since Corky passed away. What a shame.

But it was really delicious and I was pretty hungry, so I devoured almost all of it (left some rice, the grilled onions, and the roasted chili pepper). I'm about to cook dinner now but I'm still thinking about that lunch I ordered. My dinner won't be as good as that was. This place is disgusting. They're burgers are nothing special. Theyre prices are outrageous and they're chili looks like someone pooped in a cup and handed it to you. Uuggghhh.
