sweetest hospitality and service, surprising that I have never tried this fixture of a restaurant in MoTown as it's right off the main strip across from the public parking deck. quick little date night, delicious Thai French fusion that delivered. rave reviews on the classic Thai dishes, and not pictured were also the yummy pork gyozas. love to come back for some Pad Thai!

Exotic looking food, place is well maintained, service is good except that it feels like 1 person is handling all tables, effect of covid, a scene that has become common in many restaurants. We ordered the Thai red curry, sushi and soft spring rolls. The spring rolls were yummy, the sauce that came with it was especially nice. The red curry was good but seemed pretty runny for a coconut base, it was ok and so was the sushi- pretty good. It is reasonably priced so that is a plus point.

I had a chance to stop in Origin Thai 2 for dinner on a weekend and REALLY liked it. I opted for take out and food was ready in 10 minutes. The shrimp pad thai had 5-6 shrimp and was delicious. It wasn't too heavy and there was ample food. The shrimp and scallop dumpling were very tasty. It came with four dumplings and a small container of sauce. I'll definitely be back.

Here's the deal. Perhaps I had little expectations. But the food was delicious. The decor was a bit drab. It looks like they have another big room downstairs. The food was really good tho. Definitely comeback again

Catching up on reviews during this pandemic and was here earlier this year for a friends birthday. I can't believe I've lived in Morris County for so long and didn't know about this place. It was my first time here and what a great location to celebrate a birthday (or even a date night)! The restaurant has so much space to accommodate large parties (there are 2 floors!) and the ambiance is pretty nice and well decorated :) Prices are a bit pricier than your typical Thai restaurant but there are fancier menu items here. Service was great considering we had such a large party. We ordered quite a few appetizers to share and I ordered the lamb chops for my main entree. Another perk is that it's BYOB! Street parking only.

I would lean more towards 4.5 if I could rank it that, but super good, definitely would go back!! We got sat downstairs, a lot quieter than upstairs which was nice. Service was good - waitress was there when we needed her but did not see much of them since they were so busy, glasses were always full of water, food came out quick. Entrees were amazing!!! good size portion. Apps were good would try something different next time though.

Dinner at the folks. Take out. But where? My parents like Origin so on my way from here to there, I picked up a large bag of treats. My folks can no longer tolerate spicy food. No matter. Everything was very fine without the burn factor that I enjoy. Two duck dishes. One Tamarind. The other roasted with a potato cake. And my Mom enjoyed wild boar. With a sauce with coconut milk and lots of green peppercorns. Terrific. Really enjoyed the food. And the order was ready on time, a plus in my book. See you next time.

Officially my newest favorite thai restaurant in NJ. I know that's bold if you read my other 40 reviews on thai restaurants I am always raving about the uniqueness of the flavor pallet however, Origin Thai 2 beats all of them by a mile. When you think thai food, it's a basic 6 ingredients with fresh basil to make any dish perfect -- but it's the ratio & imbleshment to those recipes that let Origin Thai 2 stand out from the rest. I came here to try the staples & their French/Thai fusion methodology did not disappoint. The perfection from the chef in team I am not entirely sure how to put into words other than it was 'perfect' -- take a look at my pictures, they have depth in flavor, incredible heat, perfect texture and most importantly adhere to the traditional profiles of Thai cuisine. The actual restaurant is beautiful, clean & spacious -- when you walk in, you'll only see 8 or 9 tables however, they have a fully renovated basement dining area for additional and/or private dining. They had exceptional management & load balancing with respect to service as they were at 100% capacity yet still very promptly & politely brought our delicious dishes to us. In fact, I believe a chef had to come out & bring some dishes as to not keep any guests waiting! Honestly, if I have said anything at all, it's that Origin Thai 2 is out of this world amazing, thank you for a wonderful dine-in & then went back the next day for take out experiences, we will be back again this weekend and maybe next also!!!

One of my favorite restaurants in Morristown and my go to when guests visit. Everything I have ever gotten here has been tasty (all the guests I bring when visiting always LOVE) and the portions are large! My sister and I got the pad se ew and green curry and split. Can never decide which one I love more.. both amazing! Prices are great too for the portions! Staff is very attentive filling our waters often and asking if we were okay (almost too much at one point to be honest...) Only comment I have for improvement is in regards to covid. I understand them being cautious but the plastic cups/lids/straws seemed wasteful when you're still using the silverware etc. as someone who is cautiois with plastic waste, this was bothersome. Menus / credit card holders etc were the usual plastic ones so the cups really seemed unnecessary. Outdoor seating is available and I did notice them wiping the chairs and everything down which is great to see

We were very excited to discover Malay nearby in Morristown, and we had to check it out. We ordered the Malay Prawn Mee, Chicken Sambal, and the Roti Canai. Roti Canai is one of my favorite Malaysian dishes, but this didn't quite hit the spot. The roti wasn't soft and dip-able. It was kind of flaky and kept falling apart every time I tried to use it to scoop up some curry. The curry was a little watery and not all that flavorful, and I defintiely would've appreciated more than just one or two chunks of potato and chicken. The chicken sambal and soup were additionally a bit disappointing. The chicken sambal was just okay for me, and the flavor didn't really blow me out of the water. It almost felt like something I could make at home. The soup similarly did not have a particularly rich or flavorful broth, and left me a little dissapointed. Another thing that really influences my review is how cold it was inside. It got even colder when people opened and closed the door. It was so cold that our food didn't seem hot. I think the cold air cooled it off instantly and we were left eating room temperature chicken and soup.

It's around $13 per banh mi which is a little higher than some places, but the quality and portion make it worth it 100%. I got the S1 and S8. The S1 was really good and something I would definitely order again. It's my husband's favorite. The S8 was the chicken and it came out warm with steam! A lot of other places make it but it's still cold. I also liked how fresh the ingredients taste. Service takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the order to come out just as a heads up. One Only small critique is the bread. While I like a crispy baguette, this one is a bit too crunchy and can cut the roof of your mouth a little. So don't gobble it down fast like I did. If they made it just slightly less aggressive it would be perfect. Overall I would definitely go back for more.

Parking can be a bit tricky given its location near a major road, but there is metered parking right out front. One thing I really appreciated was the thoughtful packaging. Instead of wrapping everything in paper/foil (which traps steam and softens the bread), they use takeaway containers that keep the banh mi bread crispy and intact. The portions are generous! I don't think I've ever had a bahn mi with so much protein! I personally asked for extra cilantro on some of the sandwiches which is why the cilantro looks so obnoxious in the pictures. Everything was solid and satisfying! The lemongrass chicken bahn mi stood out with its aromatic flavor. The Saigon special bahn mi though, could've used a bit more presence from the mayo and pate to enhance the flavors. Sounds weird, but surprisingly, the sardines in tomato sauce bahn mi was better than it sounds. It was savory and definitely worth trying if you're feeling adventurous. The summer rolls were fresh, clean, and a great complement to the sandwiches. My only note: I wish the pickled carrots and radish had a bit more tang. They leaned mild rather than punchy. Overall, a reliable spot with thoughtful touches and flavorful options. I'd come back again.

The space on the first floor is divided into a lively bar area with plenty of TVs and a slightly quieter main dining room with comfortable booths and tables. There is also seating on an outdoor terrace on the second floor and a few tables in front of the restaurant on South Street if you're up for dining al fresco. It's a terrific option in Morristown that's sophisticated enough for a date on the outdoor terrace when the weather cooperates or a pre-theater meal in the dining room, yet casual enough for beers and appetizers while watching a game in the bar area. The menu captures the essence of modern American comfort food. Whether you're grabbing the Stirling Burger ($18) -- made from a tasty short rib and brisket blend -- or splurging on the Grilled New York Strip ($48) topped with crabmeat fries, the quality is evident. They are also great with dietary restrictions. Between the various poultry, fish, and vegetarian options on the menu and the kitchen's willingness to make moderate accommodations in any other dish, there's something for everyone. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the service. We recently celebrated my niece's 21st birthday here, and our server made it memorable by honoring her milestone birthday by playfully asking for her ID EVERY SINGLE TIME she ordered a drink. It became a running joke for the night and made the occasion feel extra special. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars for me is that both sides of the main floor can get pretty loud when it's packed and the prices are a bit on the higher side for casual dining. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Stirling Tavern offers a Happy Hour Monday through Friday between 3pm and 6pm, which features specials on certain cocktails, wines, beers, and light snacks. You must be seated at the bar to take advantage of the promotional pricing. If you enjoy a good Old Fashioned, try the JB ($10), made with Four Roses bourbon, blood orange amaro, orange & angostura bitters. PRO TIP #2: Stirling Tavern does not have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of paid on-street parking on South Street or Maple Avenue. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. If you can't find a spot on the street, paid parking is also available in the Morristown Parking Authority Lot #8 (@ 10 Franklin Street) and Vail Parking Area (@ 110 South Street). So don't come here for ramen; come for an incredibly tasty, inexpensive sushi experience. I had an amazing roll, and let me tell you, the presentation is stunning. It came out sizzling on cast iron, while my server spooned garlic sauce over the top to cook it and add dazzle. Filled with avocado and spicy tuna, the portion would be perfect for sharing with someone. I also had a dynamite roll, which more or less melted in my mouth. I was less wild about the Christian crosses at every table. I'm a secular person. All in all though, Asahi qualifies as a hidden, off-the-beaten-path gem of Parsippany.

If you like garlic, withhold expectations and absolutely give it a go. The contrast was an unbelievable experience--it was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. There was sweetness, balanced by a tiny touch of spicy from the tuna plus heavy garlic in the sauce. The roll is served on a scorching hot cast iron tray, contrasted by the cool sushi inside. Every bite was a battle of soft and crispy, sweet and spicy, hot and cool--we finished it and immediately ordered a second roll. *As a nod to another review, I will acknowledge that the room got a little smoky immediately after the Amazing Roll was served and the waitress/hostess did elastic-bungee the door open for a few minutes to clear the air, but the air was clear and the door was shut soon after. If I were to change anything about our experience here, it would only be to stop at the two other occupied tables on my way out to preach about this roll and highly recommend they give it a try.
