We ordered pad Thai and red curry. The food was good with good ambiance. Overall it is a decent place to have Thai food.

The worst of the 3 origins. Surprised they are owned by the same folks. They are more focused on getting you out of the restaurant to turn the table than the service they provide while you are there. Food items are the same but lack the pop of the Origin in Somerville. Overall a disappointment. read more

I may have been a bit overzealous in my first review. After having been several times after, this place is good but not great. The service really lacks when its busy, and they make no qualms about rushing you in and out. The food is solid, but I've had better Thai now that I'm a bit more experienced with the cuisine. read more

I really liked the food but the downstairs eating area is way too loud. Do not come here on a weekend if you expect to have nice conversations or good service. read more

Made a dinner reservation for six people and we were seated promptly at the time of the reservation. Overall, the food was good and the service was good, even though the food was a little bit on the bland side compared to other authentic Thai places that are usually much spicier. Good decor and ambiance, located right in the heart of Morristown. If you like your food spicy, make sure you tell them you want it spicy. read more

Consistently good Thai cuisine. BYOB, I prefer seating downstairs. Service is a bit slow.

Excellent thai restaurant , the service was great. Interior is very nice. We were seated on the lower level. The service and speed were spot on. I got the garlic salmon with rice which was great. It is byob. read more

Overall disappointing. Food was decent, but the noise level was so excessive that it blighted the entire experience. My husband and I had to yell to hear each other speak across our tiny table. I would expect this at Iron Bar, but not an upscale sit-down restaurant. So, if you're looking for a date night restaurant, this is NOT it. I doubt we'll be back. Too many other good choices in Motown that have great food and a pleasant atmosphere to boot. read more

I have only eaten here for lunch, but love it! It is one our favorite places to go for lunch. Food is great and always served quickly, which is a plus since we are on our lunch break. Lunch prices can't be beat since it includes salad and spring roll with your meal for around 10, depending on what you get. We will keep going back! read more

Food was great, the flavor was exquisite, the mixture of Thai and French flavor remained authentic to both cuisines while creating a new flavor experience, and this comes from my Thai wife. We went there for lunch, and it made our day. The fresh salad with balsamic vinaigrette was much better than what I had in France. The duck curry over baby spinach was inspired, yum poo nim (spicy soft shell crab salad) was awesome, and duck burger is recommended. We'll definitely go there again very soon. The manager, Tora, was very nice and the hospitality was great!!! The best part (after the food) was that it's not too expensive. read more

A great unique dining experience! A high end restaurant with reasonable prices! A great atmosphere, not to mention great food. One of the many great eateries Morristown has to offer! read more

The best Thai place in town! It's hard to get a table on a Saturday night, but the food is well worth the wait!

I have had their Pad Kee Moa, duck entree, curry puffs and they're all really good. Love this place!

Wow! Nice atmosphere and scrumptious food! I dined with four friends and everyone loved their chosen dish! I had filet mignon with 3 dipping sauces, sticky rice and veggies. I ate every bite and loved it! Just wish they gave me some more veggies... a little stingy on that. Given that it's a BYOB it was really reasonable for a night out in motown! Can't wait to return. read more

I've heard great things about Origin and went with a group of friends. Even though we had a reservation booked 2 weeks in advance, we were given a table right next to the waiting station/kitchen area which was a high-traffic area and loud. The service was very poor - it took a long time to get water and then wine glasses and then for them to take our order. The appetizers were good but the entrees were less than mediocre. I would never come back here and never recommend this restaurant. read more

Food is AMAZING! The best Thai food I ever had. I've been here 4 times in the last 2 months and everything I order seems to be better then the last, if that's possible because it's all so delish! Decor is nice, candles on tables, somewhat trendy. I must say this is at the top of my list of my favorite restaurants in North Jersey right now for "NEVER TO DISAPPOINT FOOD"!! Great Chef's!! Five stars here! Happy returning customer! BYO also which is great!! read more

The menu is small but I enjoyed my meal. But the service was awful! I felt unwelcomed from the beginning when the maitre d/ manager kept asking me if the rest of my party of 3 (including me) would soon arrive. It had only been 10min and I had made a reservation. Once my guests arrived and we ordered, I felt the pressure to eat quickly because the manager stared at us eat and kept making laps around our table. Again we had a reservation and there was only one other table of two being occupied, all others were empty, what's the rush?! The servers were rude in how they served the food, across our faces! We asked for dessert and coffee and they brought the check with it?! What's the rush?! At this point my guests and I decided to only tip 10%. We left it on the table and I rushed to finish my coffee so we could leave when the maitre-d/ manager came over handed us back the tip and mumbled something and walked away, we asked the waitress what the issue was and she was clueless and mentioned something about 15% tip. The manager walked back and said that was our change, we explained it was tip and he said "tip is 15%." We were appalled that he was telling us how much to tip. What happened next was unforgivable. WILL NOT RETURN THERE JUST BECAUSE OF THIS! read more

I have been to Origin's numerous times. I've also been to two of their other locations. I have always enjoyed their food. The Curry dishes are delishious! I highly recommend the Wild Boar. Also, it is BYOB! We typically have the same waiter and he has always been very pleasant. Great location too! read more

We were a party of 5 and had out of town guests . After 1hr and 30 minutes they told us we would have to leave because another party was waiting. I have never had this happen at any restaurant. It was embarassing in front of my guests and I will never go back again. read more

I've been here twice since recently moving to Madison. This is place has great Thai food and is a byob. The atmosphere and affordable prices makes a great date night! read more

This is my favorite Thai restaurant, we go to Origin for lunch frequently. The food is always fresh and delicious. My favorite items are the Golden Curry Puffs, Pad Thai with chicken, Duck Tamarind, and Green Curry. Service is usually efficient and relatively friendly. They have a great lunch special that includes soup or salad, a main dish and a spring roll. Highly recommend! read more

I was very surprised by this place. It's a very low key, intimate, nice restaurant. Great food, great service, love going back! :)

I love this place. I have been to all three locations, Somerville, Basking Ridge, and of course Morristown. The food is always the same, GREAT! It is a great place to go with a small group of friends or a date for two! Definantly the best thai in New Jersey! read more

I just had the vegetarian Pad Seew and it was delicious! Perfectly done and came with the option of a salad or soup. And egg roll. I grew up with Thai food so this was like authentic home cooking for me. The place is also intimate stylish and cozy. I would highly recommend Origin. read more

I'm very upset about my experience at this restaurant tonight. Let me start off with I have never wrote a bad review about a business but i feel very strongly about this. Ill paint this picture for you - we are 5 28 year old professional women. We went there for our two best friend's birthdays so obviously a special occasion. First off and I can let this one go, I had brought a birthday cake and was told we had to pay an extra $20 to eat our own cake. Ok. I understand a fee but thought $20 was extreme. I said no thanks. Again they came back to "negotiate" and said if we bought 2 $7 desserts we could have our own cake. I kindly declined. Then we tried to order apps but were told the waitress preferred to order everything together. This of course delayed our dinner since we were forced to order our apps later than we had wanted. Ok let that one go too. Then things turned for the worst. After we finished dinner we were basically harassed by the host to leave the restaurant. He came over multiple times saying that people were waiting for our table. It got to the point that they started clearing our table mind you this was 5 minutes after we paid the bill, and actually brought a family down and said in front of us they can sit as soon as we leave. So to paint this picture for you, they brought a family down from the first floor and stood them near our table and let them stand there while we were still finishing our drinks. Ridiculous. Finally, as we were leaving the waiter staff started cheering and clapping saying "yay they finally left." I do want to point out we did have a reservation and were there for a little over an hour when they started making us feel uncomfortable. We did ask for a manager and were told the manager was not there, as they were being extremely rude and pushing us out. And btw the 2 couples next to us were also encouraged to leave immediately after they paid their check. I have been to this restaurant before but I will now NEVER go there again. I have never experienced such a rude staff and they really ruined a special occasion for my friends. Go there if you want but you may not want to go on a night where god forbid they have booked reservations and cannot a accommodate their paying customers. read more

my friends and i have been long time fans since their original location in somerville,nj. last night was a very different experience. my friend and i shared rack of lamb which was like a salt lick . when we told the waitress she told us she would bring a new dish. it came back 2 mins later with the bites we had taken in each of the two chops. we pointed it out and she just took it away without comment. 20 mins later we did, in fact, get a new dish which was good. no apology, really? we wont be going back any time soon. also, the rice my other friend got was cold and looked as if it had not come straight from the kitchen. we won't be going back any time soon. read more

The worst restaurant experience my husband and I have ever had. We were seated in the basement (how does this place meet fire code regulations?) and it was incredibly loud. Our table had one wine glass, and it was dirty. Also, the server who seated us brought only one water glass and one menu. We had to flag down a waitress to get more dishes, and some water. The table next to us (inches away, actually) was occupied by two couples who had brought an entire bar 's worth of liquor. We thought they would leave any minute, as they seemed to have been there long enough to get completely loaded, but it turned out they were just getting started. One of the men became more and more aggressive, verbally abusing toward his date, swearing and complaining loudly that the servers were ignoring him, getting up to help himself to Cokes...basically spiraling out of control, until it felt like we might be in some real danger. The manager was nowhere to be seen during this entire time. After the people at that table left, my husband asked to talk to him, and he eventually appeared. He smiled and nodded, and said there wasn't anything he could do. Later, a waitress who said she felt sorry for us brought us a complimentary creme brule. Finally, the food was surprisingly bland, and certainly not good enough to warrant putting up with such poor atmosphere and sub-par customer service. read more
