To begin with I went through the drive-thru, I asked many questions about the food and how I could…read moreorder it and what I could order as a combination and the responses were not legible, the menu for the drive-thru was totally unlegible you can't see the prices I have the menu is not even on there so the person that was working the window she was nice however not very informative and she did not take the order down right because the order I received was totally incorrect. The woman at the window it was the end of her shift and like I said she did not put my order in correctly so I had ordered spicy Mongolian beef I got plain Mongolian beef I ordered Chicken Fried rice, I got rice that looked like it had been burnt on the grill no little vegetables like peas and carrots or green onions in it I didn't see any eggs in it it looked like they took some chopped up chicken put some plain rice on the grill and it turned it brown that's what I got for chicken fried rice it's the worst I've ever had in any Chinese restaurant that I have ever been to. And as far as the Mongolian beef order went he got a bunch of rice it was supposed to be fried rice with his spicy Mongolian beef which as I stated previously was not spicy at all his rice was clumped together with chunks of plain white rice in it apparently they don't know what stir fried rice is. For $20 it was not worth $5 and then when I called to make a complaint about the food they told me that I had to bring all the food back in there to them and they could give me an order of Mongolian beef with a cup of spicy sauce to go on it. And they could replace the order with more fresh food. If the first order of food wasn't any good why, would I want to eat another order of your food? Customer service as far as getting a refund or resolving the issue was not there the little girl working at the counter had to go back and be the go between between me and the manager why could I not speak to the manager? I will never ever ever eat at Lotus Express again, and I will tell everyone that I know not to eat there. And as some people may know word of mouth about a restaurant food will make you or break you so that I hope that this post goes really wide and then I'm going to put pictures on here of the crappy food that they gave us. Do not eat at this Chinese restaurant that is my review. So you want to know what could improve? You can improve the management you can improve the food and you can improve the customer service mainly the food and how they handle complaints from customers. In my lifetime as I was in food management business for 30 years the customers always right because the customer is who pay your bills.

Once seated, the lady took our drink orders and we headed to the buffet. Our group picked their favorites. The kids went back a few times. They have your general public favorites as far as buffets go. The egg drop soup was the starter! There's a salad bar area. The dessert area as well. Oh! There's a small sushi bar area, too. They also offer a hibachi area as well. At the evening we were there, there weren't as many meat choices. I had them do like a vegetarian style. The noodles were piping hot! The kids liked it because they could create their own flavors with the different sauces. Towards the end, our waitress made a special birthday dessert plate and put a candle in it. The nearby monitor played a birthday song!! My niece was so happy and grateful. We didn't expect it and truly appreciate her thoughtfulness. Overall, a nice small town buffet. It's a large place, too. Spacious and clean. All the employees were friendly. It's a shared parking lot. Ample parking.

But the recipes are not identical and the quality seems a step or two higher and fresher. Many attractive salad and fruit options. And the main buffet was kept refreshed and clean. Lots of beef, chicken and seafood dishes, all with a balance of the proteins and vegetables. Soups tasted fresh without mushy over cooked vegetables and good flavor. Standouts to us: The marinated grilled meat on skewers The Japanese chicken The baked crab But really everything we sampled was good. Even the desserts which Chinese buffets don't normally excel at. We did not make it to the sushi or hibachi grill although everything looked fresh when I walked past it. My soft drink was well balanced between carbonation and syrup (I hate it when restaurants water down sodas or don't mix the carbonation right). We left full and pleased as our check was less expensive than any fast food lunch for two costs!

Buffets are not served all the time. Ok, no problem. So we ordered off the menu. Waited over 15 min to finally go back up to the register to request our drinks. 20 min later (35-40 min after ordering) we finally get our appetizer plate which was missing 1/4 of the items. 10 min after that my husband was served his plate and after 5 more min, I watched them dump a prepacked bowl that had been setting since before we arrived onto my plate. I had to get our own silverware & napkins from the buffet setup. I also asked them to turn the dining room lights on so we could see what we were eating. It was dusk. Im not sure what this issue was with them tonight, but all the customers tonight suffered for it. I highly doubt we will be back.
