Stopped in here with a friend for lunch because I had not checked the place out since it changed over from being Oriental Villa.
I've got to say it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I have never spit out so much food in a napkin in my life.
Things that should just be edible like fried rice and fried potatoes and fried chicken all tasted like some kind of chemical motor oil. And the chicken itself that was used in the different Oriental dishes didn't even look like or taste like chicken. Either weird square shapes with no batter or squiggly things that looked almost like organ meat. I kept telling my friend that I didn't even know what I was eating.
One of the best things about Oriental Villa was the noodles. Now they are just sticky and bland. And the egg rolls have no filling whatsoever. Just bland gobs of crust.
But even just writing this minutes after eating, I still can't get over the rice. I have never not been able to eat rice in a Oriental place. Couldn't eat the general chicken, couldn't eat the cashew sauce, couldn't eat the teriyaki chicken because it looked like entrails... Just horrific.
But I will say they have amazing pot stickers, so I guess that is one saving Grace along with the wonderful hostess who greeted us. She was amazing and kind and so were the people working there.
Just sad to know this is what happened to what was once such a great restaurant. read more
