Boomers BBQ continues to be fantastic year in & year out. My family & I have enjoyed them since their first restaurant on Oak St in Carthage, MO. I had the pleasure of finding them prior to this when they were operating the business from a mobile trailer. The food has been consistently excellent throughout the years, and from brisket & ribs to pulled pork, wings, or burgers you can't go wrong with Boomer's. Their Staff are always friendly and take care to provide a great experience. Went here the other day. Didnt have high expectations. I ordered the 3 meat plate with Turkey, brisket and hot links and sides were baked beans and loaded mashed potatoes. The turkey was juicy, smokey and great. The brisket was reheated and dry, the hot links were really good. Wish bbq restaurants would quit serving reheated microwaved meat. I know why they do it but it drys . The staff was very friendly so yall check this place out. read more

Excellent spot. I will seek it out next time I'm near Joplin! The ribs were fantastic, great dry-rub, soft flaky and with a certain crispy crust. Great sauce choices too. The server who took my order was very friendly and helpful. The tater tots were crispy and flavorful and the coleslaw mix of vinegar and mayo hit the spot! Also, the prices were extremely fair, which I appreciate, especially since they haven't raised them (yet?) to reflect this nightmare economy brought on by the foolish and dangerous Trump. Should be so much better but nope. Just not a good vibe for a BBQ joint. My friend wanted to order some wings with the hit BBQ sauce and the guy in back did it but made sure that he told the waitress to tell us that we shouldn't expect that done everytime. Give me a break. It's a chicken wing and he only asked you to put the spicy bbq sauce on it. He didn't ask you to go out and catch a fresh chicken and cook it. Brisket sandwich meat a good size but it was served with a bit of chill to it. Why? I am used to warm brisket sandwiches. Also served with no onions or pickles. Plain meat on a toasted bun. Had to add BBQ sauce to make it palatable and take sips of water between bites. Oh well. It did fill me up. read more

Went through drive through and ordered a taco salad with burnt ends. The salad was a mess! Very little lettuce, no corn, jalapeño with stale chips and too much liquid cheese. Joplin doesn't have good bbq anymore, so we came over to Carthage to give Boomers a try! Got the pulled pork sandwich and cole slaw. The meat had great flavoring and lots of meat on the sandwich. The cole slaw was ok but not my favorite. My wife got the beef n cheddar and loved it. They don't skimp on meat here. I need to come back and try ribs for sure. read more

Staff was very curious and helpful. Restaurant was clean, tables wiped... Wide selection of foods. We had the brisket dinner with potato salad and Cole slaw. The brisket was a little bit dry but otherwise good, nice smoky flavor. The potato salad was the chunky mustard style which is the kind I prefer. The slaw was fair. Portion size were reasonable. Lots of seating and very comfortable booths. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the 3 meat dinner with bologna, pulled pork, and burnt ends. The sides were loaded mashed potato casserole, and baked beans. The beans left a little to be desired but otherwise everything was perfect. We also got an appetizer of fried pickles. This little gem has great Barbeque and it is family owned by the nicest people! All their meat is delicious and we have eaten in at the restaurant and also ordered pick-up when we are feeding the whole extended family for get togethers. I have called in the morning before they open, and they had meat and sides hot and ready for me later that day to feed 15-18 people. We also use them at our company for lunches. Because of COVID-19 we are not able to serve buffet so they individually package and deliver the meals. Exceptional service and delicious food! read more

Pretty good food but seems a bit pricey. No longer our first choice for smoked meats. That's a shame. It's small and sometimes tricky to get in and out of. Stopped at this little place on my way to Nebraska. Thought it would be something different. Boy was I right. Went through drive through and ordered hamburger and onion rings. Had to pull forward and wait. Ok. When I got my order it was hot. Opened it up and there was nothing ring about the onions. It was a huge big ole glob of I don't know what. Didn't even look or smell like onions. It had like a mass of meat particles deep fried to them. They were not onion rings. They were onion strings or pieces or something. Boy was I very very disappointed. Burger was just okay. Lesson learned about stopping somewhere different. read more

I think their success has lead them to lower their quality. We've been going here for years and we've had a few service/food hiccups, but never have I contemplated not going back. The ribs use to be spot on perfectly smoked while being fall off the bone moist/tender. Now twice they have been over smoked to the point of being bitter tasting and almost as dry as jerky. Being over smoke might be from a dirty smoker or someone uneducated in the art of smoking, I'm unclear as to the reason. The sides were twice baked potatoe casserole and baked beans which were both greasy tasting. I'm not sure how you make potatoes tasty greasy but they accomplished it. The saving grace was the pulled pork. The pulled pork wasn't bad it just didn't taste a good as it has for the decade+ we've been getting BBQ from here. I really hope they realize all the quality issues they're having and right the ship before it's uncorrectable. read more

Outstanding BBQ ribs! Tender, good bark, large portion, clean dining facility (didn't use the restrooms), friendly servers-kept my drink filled. Their Hot Sauce? Outstanding!! An all around good experience! And they don't serve alcohol. I dine at places that serve beer, wine, etc. but when I find a good place like this that doesn't, I like to give them an Attaboy! A decent place to get your BBQ fix. Burnt Ends are decent even though rarely available. Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Wings are all pretty good, however, I don't feel they are worth the price. All in all, if you are in the Carthage area and looking for a good BBQ place, give them a try as there aren't many options. read more

I've seen this place a whole bunch when going to Carthage to the maple leaf day on the square and always wondered if it was good. My daughter moved to Carthage and I took her home today and needed to get something to eat. So I went and got some. It's very good!!! The pulled pork is great, the ribs! Yummy!!! The turkey! We were very pleased with boomers...my husband had the ribs which were meaty and tender and moist and the rub was really tasty. And not too smokey flavored. My brisket sandwich was so moist and tender it melted in my mouth...the mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy! I have had it other places where the sauce was more like a white sauce and a non entry.
