To begin with I went through the drive-thru, I asked many questions about the food and how I could order it and what I could order as a combination and the responses were not legible, the menu for the drive-thru was totally unlegible you can't see the prices I have the menu is not even on there so the person that was working the window she was nice however not very informative and she did not take the order down right because the order I received was totally incorrect. The woman at the window it was the end of her shift and like I said she did not put my order in correctly so I had ordered spicy Mongolian beef I got plain Mongolian beef I ordered Chicken Fried rice, I got rice that looked like it had been burnt on the grill no little vegetables like peas and carrots or green onions in it I didn't see any eggs in it it looked like they took some chopped up chicken put some plain rice on the grill and it turned it brown that's what I got for chicken fried rice it's the worst I've ever had in any Chinese restaurant that I have ever been to. And as far as the Mongolian beef order went he got a bunch of rice it was supposed to be fried rice with his spicy Mongolian beef which as I stated previously was not spicy at all his rice was clumped together with chunks of plain white rice in it apparently they don't know what stir fried rice is. For $20 it was not worth $5 and then when I called to make a complaint about the food they told me that I had to bring all the food back in there to them and they could give me an order of Mongolian beef with a cup of spicy sauce to go on it. And they could replace the order with more fresh food. If the first order of food wasn't any good why, would I want to eat another order of your food? Customer service as far as getting a refund or resolving the issue was not there the little girl working at the counter had to go back and be the go between between me and the manager why could I not speak to the manager? I will never ever ever eat at Lotus Express again, and I will tell everyone that I know not to eat there. And as some people may know word of mouth about a restaurant food will make you or break you so that I hope that this post goes really wide and then I'm going to put pictures on here of the crappy food that they gave us. Do not eat at this Chinese restaurant that is my review. So you want to know what could improve? You can improve the management you can improve the food and you can improve the customer service mainly the food and how they handle complaints from customers. The food is excellent, every single time. The wait can be long, so it's best to call it in, and park to grab it inside. The garlic chicken is delicious. The crab Rangoon is consistently good. This is our go-to for Chinese. read more

Are here 5 years of being away from Pitt. This used to be the best Chinese while I was there especially for the price! My wife and I had the orange chicken and lo mein with an egg roll, side of rice and crab Rangoons. The orange chicken has definitely changed since last time I ate there and it was not very great! Alright, if you have ready any of my reviews, you've probably noticed I eat way too much takeout Chinese food. I love it and Lotus Express is at the top of my takeout list. Their prices cannot be beat and the food is always fresh! My favorite thing about Lotus Express is that they always use all white meat chicken (something that's usually hard to find). My only warnings would be to make sure you have time to wait in line if you go during peak hours, you're tables food will usually not come out at the same time if you're dining in and that the food is served on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils. Unfortunately I have to give this restaurant only one star after trying out their food and getting severe G.I. upset. The food is cheap overall ($5-$7) for a meal, which is pretty cheap for a full meal. The restaurant is more of fast food chain, with both a dine in and drive through. The food quality overall is okay. I ended up ordering the chicken low mein, which was plentiful on the plate. The overall taste was okay; it wasn't spicy or bland. I wouldn't say this restaurant isn't of bad quality, but I would be leery if you go and happened to get some G.I. symptoms. I ordered Lemon Chicken and when I got to the window after at least a 30 minute wait, I handed the cashier my credit card and she handed me my food. Instead of Lemon Chicken I was Given General Tso's. I said it was incorrect and she said it was too late. Best Chinese in town! Hands down, the best quality of food that is consistently good and the price. You can't beat the price on the food here! Also, get the potstickers and dip them in the sauce - you won't be disappointed!! The only downside is the wait. They can be very slow - which isn't necessarily their fault, because I've saw people go through the drive thru for 7 or 8 dinners! Can we all agree that the drive thru at Lotus is only for people getting 2 dinners or less? Overall this experience was a 3.5 star but since there's no option for that I will put it at 3. There's no waiters or anything but they do bring you the food. They are clean but their soda machine does not put out good water unfortunately. I ordered the General Tso and to my surprise the chicken quality was incredible. All white meat very well cooked and fried. The rice that came along with it however was poor quality. It tasted as if drown and white rice were put together very bland but looked like combination fried rice. The sauce on the chicken was very underwhelming it wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. My friend had ordered the sweet and sour chicken and that was covered in a delicious sweet sauce. I also tried the fried pot stickers and in all honesty them being fried was not good. It had a hard crunch like an over cooked ship. The meat inside wasn't bad however I only think this place should rethink how they make their rice and improve the general Tso sauce I will come back here though. read more

Inexpensive, yes. Ordered the egg drop soup and cashew chicken, it also came with fried rice and an egg roll (my choice). Cashew chicken was unflavorful and only had a few cashews. The fried rice was mushy, and had some weird orange tint to it, not your typical everyday fried rice...not palatable for my taste buds. The egg roll was greasy and had no crisp left to it. Disapointing:-( I may give it another shot someday, but not anytime soon. read more

Definitely the best Chinese food in Pittsburg. If your plan is the drive thru you will definitely wait awhile but if you go inside service is normally fairly speedy. I have not had anything I didn't like from here. Their potstickers are amazing, and the meal deals are unbelievably cheap. Worst meal I have had in a long time! Ordered sesame chicken, crab rangoon and lemon chicken. The lemon chicken tasted like it had been seasoned using lemonheads(the candy). I have had probably hundreds of variations on sesame chicken. What I got was not sesame chicken. It was fried chicken with some sort of flavorless dipping sauce. The rice was cooked to the point of being mush. The crab rangoon was the only edible part of the meal. Even though it had no onion, and as far as I could tell no crab.
