Girard Lotus Express is hands down the best in the area, even if I have to drive over there! It's really not that far!

I moved 3 hours away. I complain to everyone here that there is isn't one place that is comparable…read moreto the quality and value of this place. I still go out of my way to stop by when I come pack for holidays and such. Yea, that's how much I love and miss this place! Fun fact: Back in college, me and all my roommates use to eat here twice a week.

To begin with I went through the drive-thru, I asked many questions about the food and how I could…read moreorder it and what I could order as a combination and the responses were not legible, the menu for the drive-thru was totally unlegible you can't see the prices I have the menu is not even on there so the person that was working the window she was nice however not very informative and she did not take the order down right because the order I received was totally incorrect. The woman at the window it was the end of her shift and like I said she did not put my order in correctly so I had ordered spicy Mongolian beef I got plain Mongolian beef I ordered Chicken Fried rice, I got rice that looked like it had been burnt on the grill no little vegetables like peas and carrots or green onions in it I didn't see any eggs in it it looked like they took some chopped up chicken put some plain rice on the grill and it turned it brown that's what I got for chicken fried rice it's the worst I've ever had in any Chinese restaurant that I have ever been to. And as far as the Mongolian beef order went he got a bunch of rice it was supposed to be fried rice with his spicy Mongolian beef which as I stated previously was not spicy at all his rice was clumped together with chunks of plain white rice in it apparently they don't know what stir fried rice is. For $20 it was not worth $5 and then when I called to make a complaint about the food they told me that I had to bring all the food back in there to them and they could give me an order of Mongolian beef with a cup of spicy sauce to go on it. And they could replace the order with more fresh food. If the first order of food wasn't any good why, would I want to eat another order of your food? Customer service as far as getting a refund or resolving the issue was not there the little girl working at the counter had to go back and be the go between between me and the manager why could I not speak to the manager? I will never ever ever eat at Lotus Express again, and I will tell everyone that I know not to eat there. And as some people may know word of mouth about a restaurant food will make you or break you so that I hope that this post goes really wide and then I'm going to put pictures on here of the crappy food that they gave us. Do not eat at this Chinese restaurant that is my review. So you want to know what could improve? You can improve the management you can improve the food and you can improve the customer service mainly the food and how they handle complaints from customers. In my lifetime as I was in food management business for 30 years the customers always right because the customer is who pay your bills.

With that being said, THIS PLACE MAKES DELICIOUS FOOD! I was traveling through this town, and a friend recommended this restaurant. All you can eat Chinese - I was thinking "Aww c'mon, I don't want all you can eat Chinese, the quality is usually Sub-Par" And I was Completely Wrong -Boneless fried chicken. It was Awesome - I haven't had a better boneless fried chicken at any restaurant that I have been to -Chicken wings - very good. All you can eat too? -Pork Dumplings - Awesome, better than any pork dumplings I have had at an all you can eat, and most Chinese Restaurant, regardless - and all you can eat? -Spring Rolls - very good, top notch, as good as the best Chinese Restaurants that I have been to -RICE! I love rice, the white rice they had, had eggs in it, A nice touch as a rice, I thought it was AWESOME - if you look at it as a fried rice (which I didn't) you could think it was a lacking fried rice, but as a regular white rice, it was Wonderful. -Desserts, were very good, a coffee mousse cake - Wonderful, Ice Cream, not bad - and of course - ALL YOU CAN EAT Ambiance was good. Nice atmosphere Service was awesome, they kept the food coming for their customers, nothing ever seemed short. The Chef or Chefs were working hard to keep the customers happy, which I would think of as fans. I had eaten their 1 time only, and now I am a fan Price was beyond fair. It was a very good price for great food. I went with 5 stars because I am not a fan of what looks like common Chinese Restaurants, and I haven't been able to find an all you can eat restaurant that I have enjoyed (truly all you can eat, no time limits or whatever new trendy things that are referred to AllYouCanEat) and the staff was very friendly I judged this book by its cover, and I was Absolutely wrong, this place is awesome and now I am a fan!

I don't mind spicy, if I'm feeling froggy I will ask for "Thai hot", but I wasn't feeling it tonight so I asked for 3 out of five stars. What I got was unpleasantly spicy with zero flavor - just heat, didn't even have any flavor of coconut milk. I make Thai curries regularly (it isn't hard - heat coconut oil, fry the curry paste, add meat, vegetables, coconut milk, sugar, fish sauce, basil leaves and fresh lime). It's always a fight with the family over the spice level, because more curry paste means more flavor. What I got from Typhoon was not made with curry paste (if it was it would have had the flavor of Thai curry...) but it was NOT Thai curry. Maybe bad Chinese food pretending to be Thai? My wife had the Tom Yum Gai (soup). Very little chicken and worse flavor. She had diarrhea with an hour and a half. As a former restaurant owner I hate giving a bad review because I know how hard you work and how demoralizing it can be when you get a bad review from an, often as not, deranged customer having a bad day. But man this meal should be a crime. We ended up eating half and throwing out the rest. The server was pleasant, seemed like a nice kid.
