Food menus was easy. Big portion plates for what you pay for. Service is very good, polite and helpful. The ambiance is nothing special, simple and easy to get around. read more

Food is amazing has been my favorite for the past 6 years definitely needs to try the brocolli beef

Very poor customer service. The food is ok, but the woman who runs it is very rude and does not know how to treat customers.

Fast food is ridiculously priced so this is nice respite from all the foolish gimmicks. I hadn't eaten their food since way back when they were located in the Joplin Mall. Cheap prices and good food is all you can expect. Best cashew chicken in town. Orient and Lotus Exlress have some competition. That's a good thing. All three a delicious. Wok beats them out in portions and prices. read more

I call this place my "economical dinner" place. I call, place my order, and they tell me how long it will be and it's ready to be picked up in the drive thru. My Go-To dinner, cashew chicken combo, is under $10.00 and very filling. I am a frequent visitor, often weekly depending on my schedule. The other Chinese places nearby don't have a drive thru. It took me a long time to try them, but I am so glad I did! read more

Was craving Chinese on Sunday, but our normal go-to place is closed on Sundays. We have tried coming to China Wok before, but every time, the owners were gone on a month long vacation. Finally got the chance to give it a try and was very happy with the food. The key is to not come in a hurry. There were 3 workers in the whole place so food was slow getting out to you. I ordered the general chicken. It had a slight heat to it, but I really wish someone would actually make their general spicy. It also had some sweetness but not overly sweet. Chicken was tender and all white meat. The egg roll was delicious. It's probably the best egg roll I have eaten. My son got the sesame chicken with crab Rangoon. The sesame chicken was tender, juicy, and hot. Crab Rangoon was ok but typical more sweetness and cream cheese than crab meat. We will definitely be back. read more

Very clean you got plenty of food on your plate. You even had to take some home. Service was excellent and the ambience was very nice.

The restaurant itself is not much to look at but the food is unexpectedly awesome. Food is fresh and full of flavor! The food came out fast and is reasonably priced. Try the crab Rangoon. A must. read more

China Wok - General Chicken - Chinese Near Me - Joplin, Missouri

Rice under cooked. Orange exceptionally bland. Not one cashew on the cashew chicken dish which was terrible. Never, ever will we be back.

wanted some comfort food, got hot and delicious comfort food. it was quick! good price, and relaxing restaurant.

It seems they had WAY MORE customers than they had employees. Every table (actually every table) was full of plates covered in old food. The plates had clearly been sitting there for a while. As more people came in--and there were already about five people in front of us, there were no open tables. Some desperate customers started bussing the tables themselves. Call me a pretentious city dweller, but that's totally unacceptable. I definitely don't pay someone for food and to clean all the tables in a dining room. The food itself was tasty. read more

Love this place food is always so good great service and always super fast to the table

Food is very solid! In fact food would get 4.5 stars. Service is really where China Wok lacks. I have NEVER been served in anything less than 30 minutes no matter if we eat in store or get it to go! I honestly don't understand how they can be this slow every single time. They NEED to figure out how to increase production and minimize the wait, because it's absolutely ridiculous! I truly can't comprehend how a business can be this slow with a drive up window, it's just mind boggling... read more

We were pleasantly impressed as we were looking for a Chinese place open on a Sunday. Food was fresh, tender meat and tasty. We had sesame chicken and beef and broccoli combos as well as egg drop soup. They give plenty of sweet and sour sauce, too! Food is made fresh and picked up in their drive through 20 minutes later. Perfect! Second time we are it a little later. That might be why it wasn't as perfectly tender. They were out of pork. Will try again for sure. read more

Just average to below average food. The General's Chicken was just okay, crab ragoons were soggy, rice and hot and sour soup were not good at all. read more

Our family ordered the sesame chicken - large, cashew chicken combo, general chicken combo, and chicken & broccoli regular meal. That was probably the best, it's in a dark sauce. General chicken & sesame chicken was good but the sauce is really thick, too thick. The rice is bland. My husband didn't like the cashew sauce. The crab Rangoon's were just ok. Good filling but they are small. The place is so reasonably priced that I would come Back to try other things as well as get the chicken & broccoli again. read more

The lights were out in the whole parking lot but their open sign was on. Went through the drive through and I thought it took a long time. Got back to eat and they gave me chow mein instead of lo mein and the fried rice was over cooked. I did like there were water chestnuts in the chow mein. Even tho that is not what I ordered it did have good flavor. Didn't eat it all because I don't like crunchy noodles and giant hunks of onion. Not sure I'd eat here again. read more

China Wok - Vegetable fried rice - Chinese Near Me - Joplin, Missouri

This restaurant was very clean, the lady that took our order, was not very friendly. Pretty cheep,we paid $14. For two meals. The food was to go, when we got home, everything was hot! The portion's were good, not enough meat in the pepper steak it was weird. Bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, carrots and a little meat. Too saucy and too sweet. General Tsos Chicken was too saucy and sweet as well. The sauce, tasted like the oriental sauce, in the bottle! Other than that, probably won't go back. read more

Tip: Ask for a menu, it has tons more choices than the wall menu. My husband says their General Tso chicken is the best he's had in a very long time. I had the shrimp fried rice and it tasted very bland. So bland that I ate some of my hubby's chicken instead. The crab rangoon were sweet, just how I like them, and were the shape of a little pouch which was a nice change to see from the traditional folded over rangoon. All in all, it was ok. read more

I wouldn't suggest eating in, I'm not giving less stars but service is awful! We ate in and as the girl was delivering our drinks my nephew spilled his sprite all over the table and the floor and the worker just stood there and stared as we struggle to clean it up, we had one napkin and she asked if we needed a refill and then left. I really wish this place delivered! This would be my go to delivery every time I'm being lazy! But they don't and that's not stopping me from loving this place! They have a drive thru which is a nice convenience. If you haven't ate here then I suggest you do read more

Alright so this is a mix review. The food here is great. Great potstickers, great crab rangoons, and great fried rice. The issue is that I ordered my food at 5:54 p.m. and didn't get it until 7:15. I called ahead to save time because I have family in town. They told me it would be ready in 30 minutes so I arrived at the restaurant at 6:40. I stood in line for a little while to let them know I was there. I watched a couple in front of me order their food and sit down to dine in. As I was waiting there the waitress brought them their food. 20 minutes later I asked the lady if my food was ready she apologized and said they were busy. Be prepared to wait a long time. Calling ahead does not help at all since I watched the people in front of me order and then get their food; keeping in mind that I had ordered my food almost an hour before them lol read more

Their food is always delicious, portions are huge, and service is great! Their crab rangoons are the best I've ever had.

A great find on my trip to Missouri. Their set up is service set-up is in the middle of Panda Express-like and full fledged sit-down Chinese restaurant. Food is made to order and not pre-made, which I thought was pretty cool. I agree with the other reviewers. The services isn't fast-food Panda fast. You order what you want and the husband and wife duo in the back makes it piping hot. Personally, I would take made-to-order over pre-made saucey fried chicken any day. Speaking of chicken, their General chicken is is awesome! Their chicken is not overly breaded or buried deep in a cloud of fluff coating. Moist, crunchy nuggets of friend chicken goodness. It's so good. Crab rangoon, chicken friend rice, lo mien -- all made to order. That means if you don't want veggies in your noodles, you can say no noodles! Or extra spicy/extra garlic! Prices are affordable, too! The lunch combo which had fried rice, entree, and crab rangoon ran around $5.50! We don't have a place like this in Oregon, bummer for me! I recommend it if you are ever in Joplin! read more

The kitchen is very slow to get the order out if you get anything that needs to go though the wok. They do have decent food if you are patient enough to wait for it. To be honest, I don't think it's worth an hour of waiting to get some lo mein. I was tricked into waiting the first 15-20 minutes, then again when the cashier told me it will be right out a couple more times. I should have asked for my money back and went else where, but I guess my judgement was clouded by the anger and hunger that got the better of me that night. I understand it's a small family business and there's only 2 cooks in the kitchen, but come on, judging by the number of customers waiting for their food you can afford to hire more help. Or maybe not. Either way, it's not my restaurant and I will just take my business else where next time. read more

Ok, so there are mixed reviews on China Wok - Joplin. Yes, it can take a while to get your food as the husband and wife team in the kitchen are the only cooks. But, wait... Once you get your food, you should instantly forget the wait for the food is AWESOME! My family and I eat at Joplin's China Wok once per week. The food is consistent, fresh and delicious every single time. The checkout people are also very nice, especially the tall young guy. I always get the General Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Egg Fried Rice, Lo Mein, Fried Wontons and Eggrolls. We have also tried the Lemon Chicken and Cashew Chicken - ALL are OUTSTANDING! Try to come after busy meal times to get the best results as far as how long it takes to get your food. The more customers, the longer the wait and conversely, the fewer customers, the shorter the wait. Priced well and competitively. We moved to the area in the Summer of 2013. We tried just about every Chinese restaurant within a 50-mile radius of our home. It took over a year-and-a-half to come across China Wok and we now go nowhere else for our Chinese food fix. It is really THAT good! You should definitely give China Wok a try. It is the absolute BEST Chinese food in Joplin, MO, and I am VERY picky when it comes to Chinese food! The food is FIVE STARS. The Service is FIVE STARS. The Price is FOUR to FIVE STARS. The wait time is FOUR STARS. Overall rating = 4-1/2 STARS! read more

Chinese food that is made fast to order and not sitting under a heat lamp for hours on a buffet table... That is almost unheard of in a Chinese fast food restaurant! This place has great food fast, good service and very reasonable prices. I've had several different items off of the menu and I had not yet found something I did not like. I go here almost every time I am in Joplin. Highly recommended! read more

They have good food. Crab rangoons a very good. Only down side is they seem to be randomly open or closed. You never know if their open until you get over there. But food is good, it's nothing fancy, but good. read more

China Wok is great! Best Chinese food in Joplin, imo. You can get a general chicken combo with all white meat chicken, that comes with fried rice and 3 crab rangoons for just $7 including tax! China Wok - Carry Out General Chicken Combo (3 crab rangoons came with it) - Chinese Near Me - Joplin, Missouri

The restaurant looks not very good quality on the outside but it's what's inside that counts. Staff is usually very friendly. The menu is typical American-Chinese but the food is always cooked fresh which is amazing! It's order only but well worth it to sit down and share a plate of noodles. read more

This is a pretty decent Chinese fast food place. I'd rank it behind orient Express, and ahead of bamboo. You have to pay extra for all white meat, but it's worth it. The chunks are huge, and taste great! The crab Rangoons are small, but also pretty tasty. I'm giving this a 3 star review because we ordered our food over the phone 20 minutes prior to arriving, and waited over an hour, while people that ordered after us got their food. That's the only disappointing thing here. read more

This was our 2nd time here and I will NEVER go again! The first time we called our order in and when we got there the person had forgotten to turn it in to the kitchen. Irritating but the food was good so we thought we would give them a 2nd chance. I called in the order and was told it would be 25 minutes. We gave them 30 and waited and waited and waited. We waited a hour for 3 simple combo meals. I had requested all white meat but didn't get it. In addition to that the guy running the register had his shorts sagging so bad that they were below his butt. His shirt didn't even cover his butt. I spent almost 30 minutes trying to avoid seeing his brown and blue striped boxer briefs. Yuck! read more

My absolute favorite Chinese place in town (and I've explored Chinese places in lots of other towns and their General chicken is hands down the best). Obviously this is subject to personal preference and I don't really get anything else. Their crab Rangoon is very good also. Everything is kind of sweet which I like but keep that in mind if you prefer your Chinese more spicy. The service is good for there only ever being one front of house worker. At this point they know me by name, it's a very friendly, family owned place perfect for lunch or dinner! read more

Crap. The sesame chicken is basically general Tso's chicken only with sesame seeds scattered on too. The rice tastes like it was sitting there forever and the fortune cookie didn't even have a fortune in it. (Which happens to be a highlight of Chinese food if its bad.) I don't recommend this place at all. read more

Went thru drive thru because of Coronavirus. I ordered sweet & sour pork, orange chicken, pok fried rice, and chicken chow mein. The first three were good, not great but good. The Chow mein however was so bad it's hard to believe anyone would call that Chow Mein. All that was in the order I received was 8 noodles, 6 pieces of chicken and a pound of cabbage. If I wanted cabbage I would have asked for only cabbage. I take that as a insult thinking I was so dumb as to not know what I was ordering. My granddaughter was looking forward to her favorite Chow mein. I went to another place for her. I will never ever patronize this place again. There is better in Joplin than this. I advise anyone patronizing this place to check your order before you pay. In fact I would say never order the Chow Mein. read more

The food was very tasty. Terrible service, however. The prices are average. I think I'll explore other places before returning here.
