I've done numerous Thai/Oriental Massage spas in the past. When I dated my hubby, he was notorious for taking me to some of the best joints in Temple City/LA County. By best, I mean little mom and pop joints that are great in quality. So coming to the Tracy area, I was excited to see if I could find the same quality experiences since I have never had a bad massage by Oriental/Thai joints.
I found Oriental Massage Spa near In & Out burger, and was excited at the thought of finally being able to again enjoy this Thai style massage, you know, the kind where the masseur climbs on your back and walks over all the right places? Yeah, that kind. When I called to schedule, I kept getting the run around by the receptionist. She kept telling me to call back. I figured, maybe they were busy? Maybe they were planning their day on a whim? Either way, I reluctantly called back and eventually booked my appointment.
When I arrived, the receptionist was curt and pushy. I'd never encountered such bad reception at a massage. She seemed to not know I had an appointment but requested payment first and ushered me into a room. The room seemed clean, comfortable. I noticed, no bars above the table, which is not customary for Thai massage as the bars are used by the masseuse for balance. So I stepped out and reminded the receptionist that wanted the Thai massage. She was taken a back, but took me into another room. Not as nice, but what did I care? I was going to be face down, right?
I undress, lay down and wait... and wait. Finally, I hear a knock on the door. I figure its the masseur. I was excited to finally meet someone who was going to work a bit to get me relaxed and rejuvenated. Instead, guess who? That's right, the receptionist. HUH? She takes off her loafers and ask me what my problem area of the day was. OH LAWD!! I didn't want her! I wanted someone more laid back. She seemed filled with nervous energy, why would I want that on my back??? She started on me... I was naked, lying face down so I said, just relax and give it a shot.... biggest waste of 40 mins. of my life!
Thats right folks, she started late, and ended early. Not to mention, she was not the normal 90 lb person on my back. While she stumbled around my back with her bone crushing feet, I had moments where I couldn't breathe. Feeling like my eyes were gonna bust out the sockets ! I hate to say it, but this chick weighed a ton! I can usually take a lot of pressure and have no problem saying so, but how do you tell someone they are too heavy? I kept hoping it would get better, she would get off soon, and I could breathe again. That didn't happen. Minutes passed like ages and not to mention, there was no technique involved in what she was doing. She had no idea what she was doing.
When she finally jumped off, I was hoping she would vindicate herself and finish off with a bit of swedish massage since I still had some time. Instead, she put her shoes back on and told me to get dressed. What a rip off. I could have said something, but in actuality, I was ready to leave. What would ever posses me to want more? I ran out, uncomfortable. I'm normally a very generous tipper, but this was the very first time I couldn't bring myself to waste another nickel in this place. Instead, I figured I'd chop it to an experience I never wanted to have ever again and get on with my life. read more
