Paradise Massage Center isn't in the best location; there are a lot of homeless people that frequent the area. In addition, it isn't as nice an establishment as I am used to; but hey, I've been to some pretty upscale spas where I've gotten less than mediocre massages for hundreds of dollars. We like this place a lot! Great service, often available when we need them. Great massage on short notice too! Consistently good massages, they do the hot stone, back exfoliation scrub, oils and lotions and hot towels... I enjoy every minute of the head to toe massage. Always professional and very kind. Only thing is the rooms can sometimes get a tad cold, but I also didn't complain about it, so who knows but I assume, they would likely have taken care of it. read more

I had purchased a Groupon for 65$ for the 60 min massage... their in store price is 55$. Very shady. I did get a same day appointment which I'm grateful for, but I have never been treated worse as a paying customer. They demanded a tip and when one was not provided, we were shooed away and even yelled out once we were out in the parking lot. We were never rude back even after being treated so horribly. The massage I purchased was for my mom, so I can't personally make comments on the quality of the massage. She said it was good. Regardless, I will never be back or recommend this place. There is a nasty trend( demanding tips) which is clearly not being addressed by the owner even though she frequently responds with her comment of "we don't allow our therapist to ask for a tip". One of my go-to's when I'm in town. They always are able to fit me in and I've gotten nothing but amazing massages. The staff is nice. They have nice relaxing music and it's relatively quiet. The prices are very good! $80 for 90 minutes, it's hard to beat that. The establishment seemed clean to me. My massages so far have come with hot stones and a back scrub. This was the first massage palor I've been to that had me pay before the massage. The massage was about average but only lasted for about 80 minutes even though I paid for 90 minutes. The masseuse keep telling me she used "Chinese medicine" on my back, but I knew what it was which was tigerbalm. After the massage, the man upfront bluntly asked if I was only going to leave a tip for $5 which was what I tipped prior to the massage. My plan was to tip the rest later if it was a good massage. I was appalled when he asked me to tip more in front of my masseuse, so out of peer pressure I tipped another $10 even though I didn't think the massage was of good quality. This is clearly a place that wants business and only cares about money. They constantly emphasize the "extras" they use, and expect you to tip a good amount. I wanted to get couples massages for my partner and me but our usual place was going to be closed the day we wanted to go. So I ended up choosing Paradise Massage Center. I looked at their Yelp page and saw that they were women owned and they have a good amount of reviews. When I called to make an appointment, the lady on the phone didn't even take my name or number down. When we got to the massage center, we were (surprisingly) greeted by a man. I guess women owned wouldn't mean only women work there. Now I've only ever been on one massage place ever. So I can only compare this place with the other one. When we walked in, we paid and then went straight to the massage room. He didn't give us a rundown of how everything worked. He didn't ask us about what pressure we wanted to start out with. He didn't ask us if we were more comfortable with a male or female masseuse We didn't even meet our masseuses! I ended up with a male masseuse and believe me it was weird when one of the first things he touched was my butt. Still, when asking my partner about his massage, it seems Paradise just has a different massaging technique and they spend more time on butts because his female masseuse also massages his butt for some time. When I asked if my partner's massage could be only upper body and mine be full body- he said yes! But when the massage was happening- they did full body for both of us! My place also allows us to pick an essential oil to put in the room so it can smell good and relaxing to us. And their full body massage includes face and head whilst Paradise worked on our backs for 45 minutes and then our legs for 15. My place uses hot rocks in the beginning of a massage so that way your body and its muscles relax. Paradise used it halfway through for some reason. Brought a bucket of water into the room to hold the rocks and some towels. Loudly splashing the water as they rung out their towels. They get on the table with you?? They talked to each other multiple times, in what i could only say was a loud whisper. They completely broke the vibe quite often. They used hot rocks on us, hot towels, dry towels, and then a body scrub that we had NO IDEA they would be using. The body scrub was absolutely the worst thing about the massage. We weren't expecting to be scratched during our massage. Also the masseuses-- when they were finished with our backs and legs, they like- slapped them?? Like we were drums. It was so weird-- I had to stop myself from bursting out laughing. The massage overall was like a 5/10. Service was a 6/10 because they did give us water bottles when we left and had offered us some candy and drinks in the massage room as well. Professionalism: 3/10 Price: $55 per person. 8/10 for pricing. My place is actually a bit for expensive. I think it's important to log appointments/clients. It's important to sign waivers your first time coming. (That's what my place does.) Its important to explain how it'll work, if the masseuses speak english or not and whether you have code words so that we can adjust the pressure when needed. It's important to meet the masseuses BEFORE you're naked. It's important to listen to what the client wants. It's important to have someone who can speak and understand English to fully comprehend what their clients want. Anyway, would not go here again. Definitely sticking to my place. read more

Wanted to come here with the girlfriend as her birthday present. Didn't want to spend a fortune, yet also wanted somewhere close to home without having to drive into the Bay area. The facility wasn't particular special, a large room where multiple people can get massaged at the same time. BUT for our couples massage, they took us to a private room. The windows are shaded off and the decorations gave a planted vibe (slightly odd? But still relaxing). A lady massaged my girlfriend and a dude massages me to keep things from getting weird. They started on upper back, then went to lower back, arms, and legs, hot stones, hot towels, and then oil massage. This was our first massage but wrung out all the knots and tightness from the week and helped eliminate neck and back pain from plenty of driving accompanied by central valley life. The establishment is Chinese, they spoke and understood English just fine but not 100% fluent in English. Occasionally they communicated to each other in mandarin. I came at 4 for the APPOINTMENT we made and the manager told us if we could come back at 5, we had other things to attend to so we couldn't so he told us to come back in 20 mins so we did and he was gone. Late post from my visit to Paradise Massage. I made a same day appointment for two and got it. 60 minute massage whole body massage. Deep tissue, hot oil, hot rock, bath salt and hot towel. Very relaxing. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because I had about several pauses that took away from my massage.. and the foot traffic took away from the ambiance of tranquility; though it was to be expected people frequent the establishment. I have been going to Paradise Massage for 2 years. I have always been pleased with the service I received. Today was not one of those days. The room had a really funky smell, the carpet was wet, and the masseuse was terrible. He basically spread oil over my back and rubbed back and forth. When I asked him for more pressure, harder, he said something in another language and dug his elbows in so hard that it was painful. He did this several times during my hour, and mumbled things the whole time. When he asked me to turn over, he took the cushion that he had been sitting on and put it under my head and dropped the cloth that had been on my feet across my face. Although the service is good, I cannot recommend this place for forcing their customers to pay a set amount of tip on top of the service cost itself. I never heard of a business that forces their customer to pay an specific amount of tip after already been given one. Accept what is given and be grateful for what you receive. Tipping is voluntary unless gratuity is disclose upon the service. You should take your business elsewhere if you feel that this unethical. read more

We have been going here for years. Good service, however now being forced to pay a certain amount of tip is not okay. Tips are based off of services given, if they are requiring a minimum tip this needs to be stated or added to overall price. My wife offered a tip but was given attitude as if it weren't good enough. I won't be coming back. They pulled the ole "switcheroo" and made me think I was getting a massage by a male then swapped massueses right once I got comfortable and under the sheets and couldn't see. It was shady. Here's more background: I have came here before twice and had a good massage by the male masseuse, they only have 1. I received weird energy from the guy the second time because when he asked me what massage I wanted he was very pushy for me to get the shortest massage, as if he didn't want to touch me or massage me. I simply thought he was tired so I was gracious enough to settle for a short massage. I even tipped the guy over 50% of the massage price, so I paid 150% of what I was suppose to. The massage was $50 and I paid $80. That's a good $30 tip. However today it was my third and last time coming here. What's offensive is I specifically called in and asked if I can make an appointment with the male and they confirmed. , I tipped well the times before and respected his desire to give short massages, and so it was disappointing what happened. To my surprise, I was greeted by the man that massaged me twice, then escorted to the room by him, then when I laid down and put the covers over myself and settled in, a woman walked in. I didn't want to argue or make the man massage me since it was very clear he didn't want to, from forcing a short massage the second time, to him avoiding me the third time. The worst part was I heard him massage a woman about 30 minutes after my massage started in the room next to me. She did not request him before I did, so clearly it's just sexist and he didn't want to massage a man. What is so ironic is the woman gives a 10x better massage than he did, as you can read below, he doesn't put pressure at all and just pressed on your body. I don't choose a male for the pressure, I choose them so I don't get erect which happens when I'm massaged by woman. We went into the room and on the baseboard there's mildew everywhere, and it smells throughout the whole place . on the wall where the door shuts there's tape with a napkin and little baby cockroaches dead under the tape.
