14 Reasons Why I Warn You Against This Place, (but First, a Preface):
(I saw a display at another office advertising their foot massage for $14.99 & body massage... so even though I already have a favorite massage place (BODY SPA), I thought I'd try this place & save money. BAD move.)
Right from the gate, it was one disappointment & frustration after another.
I called prior to see if they took walk-ins. They said yes. I said I'd be right there.
1. I came in 15 minutes later. I was told "Sorry. Come back in 45 min."
2. I was confused & frustrated, but I remain calm & have a good attitude. I come at said time & I'm waiting for 10 min.
I tell her I want a body massage AND a foot massage (both 1 hr each.)
I confirm before paying whether this was indeed "DEEP tissue massage". She said it was....
3. She wants me to pay before, so I do, but I hold off on paying the tip until the end, I tell her. She appeared frustrated about that. -Not a good sign.
4. She takes me to the room. 2 male clients are on their way out, & yet the room that I am to undress completely in is left 4 inches open, and will NOT close. She acts like "so what... it's okay." ???!!!! Seriously?????
5. I insist otherwise, so she throws a little tantrum in her own way, and switches what bed I will use, so that I can hide in the corner to undress & get on that bed. She was so annoyed by that, sighing loudly & frowning & throwing stuff around in a frustrated way.
So the massage begins. I try to remain hopeful & to have a good attitude...
6. The whole massage.... most of it was very light pressure. I kept telling her to go ahead & go harder, but I noticed no difference.
7. I warned her prior- of my sensitive areas- to go lighter there. She didn't listen though... she kept saying "ok, ok, ok, ok, ok".... talking OVER me the whole time. How rude. Not a good sign. So she kept hurting me repeatedly, in excruciating pain & I'm STILL telling her "no... go easy on that spot. Go softer..." I told her 5-6 times in the hour. Eventually, she just quit touching that area altogether, which I did not appreciate, because it DOES still need to be worked on.
8. The massage lotion was terrible, it got dry very fast, not gliding nicely, and she didn't refill often enough either, so there was a frequent rug-burn type feeling during massage...
9. I also told her about a kink in the left of my neck, but she didn't listen or look or pay attention. I reminded her again later, but she did not spend time getting those knots out to relieve me & my neck STILL is kinked.
10. Throughout the entire massage, she left SIX times or so!! The other massage lady would holler across the building for her (how professional, huh?) & then she'd leave for a few minutes.
11. Meanwhile, she also left me uncovered, so I'm exposed & cold. -Not happy.
In fact, same thing, after she finished my back & went to move to my legs... she left my back exposed & cold while doing my legs... not professional or considerate.
12. She stopped my body massage at 7:50 pm, then tried to stop my 1 hr FOOT massage at 8:20 pm, so naturally I inquired as to what's going on? "I paid for a 1 hr ft massage" She says "haha... oh no... 2 hour to-tal massage." I said... "no... My feet hurt very badly. I NEED a full 1 hour massage. I PAID for a full 1 hour massage. That's what I need you to do."
13. So reluctantly, she eventually got back to the massage, but barely put any effort into it. She tries to stop just 10 minutes later. -Still 20 minutes short. I'm furious, after all this, but I remain calm & polite outwardly. She says "ok??" I give no answer. I neither say thank you, nor give her a piece of my mind; (which is very difficult for me to refrain from saying thank you)... Massage over.
14. Time to go. I just walk out, again refraining from saying thank you & also from confronting the issue. I feel bad, for I am so very, very grateful for someone to work on me. That's a very personal task. However, I don't want to send the message that I am a pleased customer, because I definitely am not.
So I just keep walking toward the door, and she called out several times "Tip please, tip please, tip please..." She was very persistent. I really wanted to leave quietly & peacefully, but no....
So I respond "Are you KIDDING??? Are YOU kidding??? You want a TIP????"
She proceeds to the binder of receipts wanting me to give her MORE money after the lousy experience & after shorting me 20 minutes on the massage. WOW!!
I said "No. No I am NOT giving you a tip. No way. You shorted me 30 min on the foot massage, then only went 10 more min, & STILL shorted me 20 minutes. No, you are not getting a tip. No, I am NOT coming back here & I will be leaving a review on Yelp about this place."
I did't even confront the issues about failing to listen, failing to work on the needed neck area, the constant interruptions (WHICH I was paying for).... read more
