Moon Spa Asian Massage - I strongly recommend the Moon Spa, and I will get a satisfactory massage every regularly. - Beauty & Spas Near Me - Modesto, California

Oh gosh not even sure where to start, but I promise this will be an entertaining review. So my husband and I get massages pretty much every weekend. Since our normal place isn't working out for us anymore, we have been trying new places to find the perfect fit. I called Royal Massage at 925am and they didn't answer and found out they opened at 10, but they called me right back and we were in there at 9:45. It was 70 a person for a 90 min full body massage. Now this place isn't fancy, you're not going to get a spa like experience, if that's what you're looking for, this is the wrong place. We walked in, it smelled of cup o' noodle crossed with a hint of swamp ass. The lady literally said "gimme the monayyyy" while laughing and wiggling her hands out. It was hard to contain my laugh. She showed me to my room; she said separate rooms are easier than my husband and I having the same room. I think after our massages I know why. I wish I had taken a picture of my room prior to my massage. I did however take a picture after of the lighting on the walls, which I will post. Not to my liking but hey, who am I to judge? There was an artificial red rose on my massage table. The towel barely covered me and I have a very small frame. My masseuse walks in. She was older, I would say about 70ish, so I thought ah shit this is going to be a horrible massage....oh was I wrong. She was very sweet. My husband calls me beautiful several times a day, I think she said it more than him during my massage than he does in 2 weeks. She literally used every part of her body to massage me. She stretched me out so good. She had many tricks up her sleeve. Just to give you an idea, while I was on my stomach, she pulled up my right arm with one hand, pulled up my left leg with the other and massaged the heck out of my back and butt with her knees and feet. I'm glad I was her first customer today and hopefully she showered since she last worked. The entire time I was getting my massage, I only had a rag folded in half tucked in my butt crack. Not the usual but whatever. She pretty much massaged my entire body. I'm positive she touched my butthole at least 3 times. At one point she she was on my back and straight up took her hands and spread my butt apart. I just figured it was part of whatever massage technique she was using. She really massaged deep at the top of my thigh in an inward direction. I was wondering if I was actually going to have to tell her no, or stop because it was borderline inappropriate. The massage ended. It was only 60 min but I was ready to leave so didn't even complain. Walked out, seen the lady walking behind my husband out of the room rubbing his arms and back up and down with a huge smile on her face. Haha. We are good tippers. I knew when I looked in my husbands eyes something bad happened. We walk out and I said "super inappropriate??" And then he told me all the things she did to him. He did have to tell her to stop at points. He actually had NO towel on the front of him, cool. I actually wanted to put what she did but he said it's too inappropriate to post on here. I'm giving 4 stars because she actually massaged me very well. I feel really relaxed right now. So if you are down for a good stretch out and a deep tissue massage and you can't say no instead of complaining about it when you're out, this may be the place for you. I however don't believe we will be going back. read more

Moon Spa Asian Massage - Just read my review. Lol. - Beauty & Spas Near Me - Modesto, California

Received a one hour massage this morning from LINDA as a walk in without appointment. She was not only incredibly friendly but an AMAZING masseuse!!!! Post massage I was more relaxed and pain free than I had been in months. LINDA also got rid of a migraine I had been suffering with for over 3 weeks. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly, the music and incense were very soothing and I will recommend this business to everyone. I will definitely be returning regularly. Their services are worth FAR more than the reasonable rates they charge! TY Royal Massage and LINDA for the amazing service and pain relief!!! read more

Moon Spa Asian Massage - Heaven.... - Beauty & Spas Near Me - Modesto, California

I orginally frequented this massage place on a regular basis. They were extremely reasonable for rates and always had an opening for walk-ins. I probably had a 30 minute massage once a week and really enjoyed the service. The massage therapists don't speak much if any english, so communicating sore areas is a bit tough. Overall though, my experiences were very positive. About six months ago I took my girlfriend and we decided to get a hour massage each. The massage was wonderful, but at the end the two massage employees and the desk employee all asked for a larger tip. We paid $40 each for a massage and left a $20 tip; 20% being pretty reasonable. They asked us again until we left a few extra dollars and then left. Being that this was the first time we had gone together, I was extremely embarrased. We decided to not go back. About a month ago we decided to give them another try. I went in for a 10 minute chair massage to see if our last experience was a one-time thing. About 5 minutes into the massage the phone rings and the guy leaves me for over 10 minutes to talk on the phone in chinese. Apparently the service has not improved. Tonight I decided to give them one last try. I went in for a full body massage, as its been a heavy work week. I waited at the front for someone to come up and greet me, but no one showed up. I stood by the doorway for over 10 minutes and no one came. I opened and closed the door again, coughed a bit, and walked around the main room; and still no one came. Finally, I left, more frustrated and upset than when I walked in. If you can excuse the rude or absent service for a lower price, then this place isn't that bad. Personally, I would rather spend an extra $5 or $10 and get someone who is courteous, attentive, and focused on making you relax. read more

I was a walk in, and like one other review, nobody greeted me for about five minutes. The place just opened, 10am, so I know they were not with a customer. An older lady came out and seemed surprised anyone was there. She has me go in a room that looked like Christmas minus a tree. I get undressed and wait for someone to come in. I normally don't use a towel, but it was cold in there so it was needed. My lady comes in with a smile from ear to ear, very good greeting. She does her normal press on the towel, then removes the towel and puts some oil on me. Her attention to my rear was fantastic. Near the end of the massage she had me turn over. She did some great stretching moves on me, as great as any sport massage anywhere. When she finished she said she was sorry that she doesn't do anything down there (extra). I wasn't there for that, but she did have me in the mood. Great massage. read more

Came in a little late. Had to wait 15 minutes no big deal right?! Paid for a full body one hour massage, lady was nice and did an ok job but have to say usually nice slow strokes are more relaxing than rough quick motions. There are partition walls so her and the lady in charge were yelling back in forth in Chinese. I also ended up playing my own music since the CD player went out. After 45 minutes she said I was done. After I got dressed she offered me a peppermint and a cup of water then blocked my way out and asked for a tip. I asked her to break a $20 and she seemed confused. She brought me back a ten. That's all?! Seriously you can count the minutes but can't count money?! You have me fucked up and I will never come here again. Funny how they want to pick and choose what English they understand. Assholes...I'm sticking to Massage Envy in the future. read more

Walked in and it was really really dark, which sets the mood i guess. Then the 3 ladies that worked there instantly started screaming at eachother... Which kinda freaked me out. However, the massage was amazing. Will be going back! read more

Visit #1 about 6 weeks ago. Reason: Sinuses clogged up, head hurt, felt like garbage. Was asking about head/shoulder/foot massage which is a little cheaper than full body, but glad I was upsold after I told desk attendant what was happening. Was assigned Mona for my 1 hour full body. Honestly, I've never seen anyone work so hard. Walked out unclogged, loose, and feeling 10x better than I had when I walked in. Spent lots of time on all part, including head, shoulders, and neck, which by far were the most beneficial. A+ Mona! Visit #2 was Monday, July 29th. Right shoulder was locked up and almost 100% immobile. Right arm was completely useless and the last 3 days prior involved extreme pain regardless of position, even with being unused. Small bit of language barrier again, but oh well, it could be worse. Was assigned Rose for 1 hour full body. Had her do nothing on lower portion, all upper body, including a lot of shoulder work. After the hour was over, I wanted more done to my right shoulder, so she got the boss man, we agreed on 10 minutes for $10. No problem, let's do it. Rose then proceeded to put me through a serious regiment of tugs, pulls, massage techniques, and basically beat me to a pulp. Yes, a lot of pain involved, but certainly not her fault, as I asked for it and knew it was going to hurt, due to having had this issue before. Certainly, a gentle and wimpy massage is not going to help a darn thing. Was able to shoulder joint at about 50% range of motion by the time I walked out of there, with maybe 30% of the pain that I had when motionless the day before. Each day has only gotten better, it's now Thursday of the same week(Aug 1 now), and my shoulder is now 100% better with great range of motion! Definitely would have been much worse without this treatment. Rose gets another A+, very impressed! Have spent more when I've had this issue before and gotten much less of a result. Both massages also involved use of steaming hot towels to help things out. Not sure what people consider "expensive", but an hour long full body at $45 is by no means "expensive". Have never been asked for more tip on either visit, maybe because I've already tipped. Even if you did 30% tip, it's still only $60 an hour. Think about that, is your lost day of feeling like hell worth more than this? English is difficult for them, they are not the best at it, but otherwise, really, what do you need to say? They do fairly well, all things considered with any bit of language issue. Just ask the masseuse to focus on what you want and at what level you want. Basically, you're either going to get a massage chair at 20 bucks or a full body at $45. Trust me, do the hour long full body. Overall, value for money vs result: Can't be beat. my husband had been a few times and said it was a decent place. girls didn't speak much english but the massage was good. i went today for the first time and he was right the massage was good. after i came out the lady handed me water then went back into the room. she then met me at the front desk and asked "where my tip was?" confused i asked what? thinking maybe in Chinese this meant something different. she said again, "no tip?" i pulled out my wallet to see if i had anymore cash..when she told me, "we take card". i found cash and handed her $3. she scoffed and said, "only 3 dollars?" i was fuming...i wanted to reach across the desk and snatch back my money. and tell her "no dollars!" i said thank you again and walked out. this was the worst experience I've ever had.. i'll never return. they need a lesson on customer service..and work place manners. read more
