We have a family of 5 and order from here all the time. More recently they started shorting us eggrolls. Yesterday we ordered four dinner specials and again as usual they shorted us one egg roll and charged us extra to substitute two eggrolls for soup. AND the soups that we paid extra for did not even come with any noodles. I have called about the eggrolls they tell us they will give us more next time but we never do actually get them) It happens so often I don't think its an accident. We are going to find a new place to order from in the future and I recommend that if you pick up food check your bag to make sure you have everything that you need. read more

To start off they forgot one order of food, then we ordered seamed shrimp and it was so battered and the shrimp were vary small. Just moved to Tinton Falls....My first time,,,,, horrible. Got the lunch special, chicken with string beans and "chicken fried rice".... the only decent thing were the string beans. Chicken had no flavor and the RICE...... basically brown rice, nothing in it except small, thin strips of chicken. Usually "fried rice" has scallions, peas, etc.... I don't expect much from Chinese food, but come on, I ordered sesame chicken and it wasn't even cooked all the way. It was slow so it's not even like they could use the excuse that they were busy. Pretty nice little place, though the options they have are a little bit lacking. You do get great bang for your buck though, since for ~$6 you can get a lunch special with fried rice and an egg roll or soup or soda. The fried rice isn't anything special, but it is tasty enough I guess. Their chicken is done in some weird way... I think they velvet it in little strips instead of flat pieces like most other Chinese takeout places. The food is all decent I guess-- the lo mein isn't bad, the pad thai is OK, chicken with mix. veg and all are average. Honestly, their soup is probably their best offering, especially since it comes free with the lunch special. The sauce I had with my general tso's chicken was ultra thick, definitely a little bit too much starch put in there. They do deliver though, which is a plus! read more

My daughter and I picked up an order from here last week and it was pretty bad. Although my daughter said her chicken dish was just meh, my order of sesame shrimp was borderline disgusting. We have ordered from here several times in past years, and the food was always average at best, but not this time. My sesame shrimp was waaay over-breaded, so thick it was basically doughy, and even worse it had a distinct freezer burn taste to it. Even the broccoli had an off taste too it. I tried scraping the 1/2" thick breading off the shrimp in an attempt to salvage my meal, but after a few shrimp I ended up tossing the remainder into the garbage, as even the remnants of the coating ruined what little flavor the shrimp had. I have been ordering here quite frequently since I have started a new job close by. I only have compliments for this business. I eat vegan and their menu is very accommodating to my diet. I've ordered their General Tso's Tofu often and it is crispy fried, the sauce is delicious, and there's plenty of fresh broccoli to balance it out. I've also ordered steamed vegetables and tofu and their tofu is so fresh and the flavor is way better than anything you can get at the supermarket. The prices are unbeatable with the portion size and quality you receive and their staff is extremely friendly. This will always be my go to lunch whether I want to indulge or want to eat healthy and I would recommend them to anyone! read more

If you want to wait an hour and 40 min for delivery when you literally live a half a block away then by all means call this Chinese restaurant. They even made me purchase another item since I was $.70 under the required $10 minimum for delivery. Really? I should have just gone there myself but every time I called they said it was out for delivery. So even if I did finally go and get it the food would not have been there anyway. This was our Chinese Restaurant... big order $60-$80 for our large family. Stopped in last week ordered a dozen egg rolls.. sign on the wall say dozen for $16.. they charged $18 and told me they didn't over charge me... so... well lost a customer because of $2. It's a shame.. so great food for a year.. made quickly.. and still can't recommend... such a shame. read more

I ordinarily do not write reviews, good or bad, but this I had to...I just tried calling Oriental Gourmet to place an order and after 7 rings the woman answered the phone with "yeah". I responded "Hello?" thinking maybe she was speaking to someone else; this went back and forth two more times, before I finally asked "Is this Oriental Gourmet?" to which she replied, you guessed it "yeah", to which I abruptly hung up; not sure what is going on nowadays, but I'm pretty sure that it is our money that keeps businesses and economy going....this i was our favorite place to order from, no longer...such a shame read more

General Tsos Tofu is good my only concern being they may use chicken broth in sauce. Other veggie friendly entrees as well
