I brought a few people with me. So I ordered enough to feed everyone. There's some issues with the staff and the food. They didn't even speak proper English. Well one of my guests ordered the mashed potatoes with gravy. It was sour, so I returned it to the counter. They gave me a hard way to go. Check your order before you leave. Just traveled from old bridge to red bank to pick up 60 wings. 20 of them had no sauce. Language barrier with the help I guess. Told me I ordered plain wings. While the portion sizes are pretty good, the prices are outlandish. $30+ for a "value meal" that includes 10 wings, a side and drink. I also didn't actually like the chicken itself. The person behind the register was quick to interrupt me and say, well we sold are orders for the day, we are not taking new orders. Got out of a show at the nearby Count Basie Theatre and we were absolutely starving. Saw the misleading siren lights of a Chipotle in a mini-shopping plaza. The Chipotle is unfortunately still under construction, which left this establishment as the only nearby place which seemed open and serving relatively quick food-type items (had a deadline for getting the train back to the city). I admit that I'm probably not their target demographic (stoner students?), but I can only surmise that the name of this place is a pun on what you invariably wind up saying after consuming their food. The chicken fingers were of the dark, gelatinous texture that would make a Chicken McNugget proud. The fries weren't terrible, but the fingers pretty much ruined my appetite for anything else there (or for the rest of the night, really). ATTENTION PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING HERE!!!! If I could give this a negative star, I would. After my mother in law was admitted to the hospital down the block, we came to this Cluck U to grab food for her, my parter, my mother in laws boyfriend and myself. In the process of ordering the food the gentleman from the back came up to look on the screen to see what we were ordering, I'm assuming to prepare the order. While looking at the screen, standing right in front of us he proceeded to cough in his hands and then wipe his sweaty face, returning to the kitchen without washing his hands, to prepare the order, touching the corn nuggets with his bare hands. My mother in law has cancer and a low white blood cell count, her body isn't strong enough to fight infection. This is completely unacceptable. After making the manager aware (he was the gentleman ringing us up) he took him to the back to have a conversation with him. The employee washed his hands, dried them and put on gloves. I still noticed the woman in the back not wearing gloves. Once the order was prepared, the gentleman from the kitchen brought it out to us, sarcastically telling us to have a good night. Once we arrived back to my mother in law, we realized one of the things we ordered wasn't in the bag. After all of that.... we called back to let him know the order wasn't completed and asked them to deliver the sandwich that was missing. His response was "our delivery driver is out on 8 deliveries and won't be able to deliver it" Frustrated, I asked to be refunded. His response, "you'd have to come in anyway, we don't do credit card refunds". Even more frustrated, I told him to keep the $8 and I wouldn't ever be returning to a Cluck U and will inform all of my family and friends to steer clear. The professionalism is non existent. Their procedure of assuring cleanliness, non existent. I wouldn't allow my dog to eat here after seeing how this was handled and the lack of care for my mothers in laws life.
