This is an amazing store!! It's the same concept of organic food, like Whole Foods, only they are smaller. Their prepared foods (salads, sandwiches, etc) have bigger portions than Whole Foods and the price is about the same. I ordered a sandwich and it was huge!!! They had a lot of choices, like 4 different bread, 3 wraps and meats, cheeses and veggies. The girl that was helping me was very nice!! She answer all my questions and when I asked a nutrition question she wasn't sure about, she took the time to go back and get the product and check. She was helpful, patient and very friendly!!! Upon arrival ( 7:45pm Friday) I was told I couldn't return it bc the person who looks it up past receipts wasn't there ( as a customer why is this my problem? I was told it can be done but bc of internal issues now you can't?) .. I offered to leave my phone number so they can look it up and the old lady helping was totally rude - she's like no you're gonna have to pay for another milk ( she was in vitamins Friday evening). I walked over to grab another milk and over head her talking to jojo the store manager who said just take it but next time bring your receipt, which I replied with I don't keep my receipts. She said well next time you should. Completely rude and abrasive over an SOUR milk return. I notice that you provide a selection of "The Coconut Cult" probiotic - I adore the chocolate mouse but it's the only one you order in an 8oz while the other flavors are in 16oz. The chocolate is the most sought out flavor among the Coconut Cult flavors & sometimes I'm lucky finding it at your store and sometimes not so lucky :( The newest flavor out is another palatable delight COFFEE. They named it "Coffee Is my Boyfriend" probiotic. I HOPE Root's will add these fabulous flavors which are very much sought after in family size 16oz. Roots was our favorite local grocery store, and we were really trying to support them amid the pandemic. They were doing really well and protecting the public early on. They were one of the first local stores to offer senior hours for safety. However, something has shifted. We've been extremely disappointed the last couple of visits. I needed some bulk items and the employee filling the bulk items was wearing his mask on his chin breathing all over the raw goods, then, he proceeded to play on his phone with his gloves on and immediately went back to loading the raw food. Not only is this inconsiderate given then pandemic, it's also a MAJOR health violation regardless of the pandemic. He wasn't the only issue... many other employees weren't wearing their masks properly, including the fresh juice bar, and most patrons weren't wearing masks properly (or at all). read more

The alkaline and RO water refill stations are sketchy. I paid $10 for 5 gallons of alkaline water and got 5 gallons of the RO both tasted exactly the same and had a strong chemical taste. I was pretty shocked that there was a couple walking around in the store tonight with no masks on. The man coughed twice. It clearly states mask required on the door. I asked to speak to a manager on duty, and A man came out, I think his name was Ray. I told him about the couple and pointed them out. But, instead of telling them that a mask is required and offering them curb side. He tells me that he's not going to say anything to them and offered me curb side. So when they say they require masks to enter, they don't. This was Horrible customer service and obviously that manager does not care about any of his other customers n the store. He seemed more worried about conflict with that couple. I will call and report this to corporate and I am definitely done shopping at that store! Unfortunately, Roots has now lost our business. We had been supporting them weekly for the last four years, but today they would not let us return a bag of unopened chocolate chips. I didn't realize when buying them yesterday that they were stevia sweetened, and they would not let us return the day after purchase WITH receipt. Sadly, we also had accidentally purchased and expired item that could not be returned, this has happened THREE additional times. We stopped by our Temecula store earlier this afternoon to pick up a few things. Out on the aisles was a very helpful employee who directed me to a particular item i could not locate. I found the items we needed. Then, i went up to the CHECK OUT, where a VERY UNFRIENDLY employee scanned my items. I GREETED HIM. I said: hello, hows it going. His response was: OK, no eye contact, no courteous input. Then after he scanned my items he was dead silence. So, i looked at his monitor and gave him a $20 bill. He took my money, gave me my change and receipt without any recognition he did ask if i wanted a bag. My point is, regardless of his obviously having a bad day, FAKE IT WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS, you know, the folks who PAY YOUR BILLS. You aren't the only organic location in our valley. read more

I am so thankful for Organic Roots!! I love knowing there is a local market that supports local organic farmers. Shopping at Organic Roots simplifies my life, too, because I can buy all my organic produce here when I can't get to the farmers market. Recently our kitchen was being renovated so I was able to come here daily for my smoothies, juices, salad bar, and hot deli! I am so thankful to be able to eat out daily and not only know that I'm eating clean, but after almost two months, (yes, two months!!), I still feel fantastic. The staff at the juice/smoothie bar are terrific! They are so patient and understanding when you need to modify a beverage (food sensitivities cause a few limitations), and if you let them know that you have a food allergy, they will sanitize the blender before using it for you. I love getting a salad bowl at the burrito bar! It's similar to Chipotle, but organic! Yay! The sandwich bar offers bread/wrap options which include gluten free, panini (allow extra time) and raw wrap. (Extra charges apply for some options). The hot bar changes and they give you a taste if you're not sure about a dish (like jackfruit carnitas, for example ;) There are always lots of gluten free options and vegan, as well. They staff in the vitamin/supplement section is so knowledgeable and helpful. -a great resource!! This is my "go to" store for almost all my needs, including personal care. I went to Roots today and I I purchased 3 boneless rib eyes for over $20. Per pound, which were advertised as aged premium grade A beef. They were full of tendons and gristle and only a small amount was edible, over 2/3 of the steaks were waste. I spent hard earned money and expected a quality product. I like this spot but to me its the same as Henry's or Sprouts. They do have a juice bar so that's cool but everything else is about the same. Oh yeah they also have a full kitchen which is a very nice touch. I don't come here a lot but when I do I definitely getting a coconut water by Harmless Harvest because they have the best coconut water. I always see ladies on their workout clothes and that's fine with me but come on this is not the gym. I'm not sure if they give you a discount if you bring your own bag but they should. However today I experienced something I never thought I would at organic roots I watched a woman I believe her name was Margie berate and older gentlemen I didn't quite catch his name tag but he was an employee and she humiliated him in front of not only me but all the other customers as well as other employees. Yelling to him about something he might've done wrong. As a retail worker myself I know there's ways to handle things and public humiliation is not it. Very nice grocery store, one of the best in the IE only because there's no Whole Foods Market. If you have gluten free issues then this is the place for you, fresh made sandwiches and a nice variety of hot foods and bakery items. "try the GF lemon cake excellent" I basically come for a GF sandwich or some lemon cake, so i can't really comment on anything else. Excellent sandwiches with plenty of meat and a good selection of toppings, easily worth $8.00, but then i leave a $2.00 tip. $10 bucks no-big-deal. I've heard people bitch about the prices, If you can't afford it then get your welfare ass out of here, winco is across the street. Friendly service and very clean market. First things first! I'm not a size 0 and I love my french fries once in awhile. Lol I purchased today a build your own burrito and it was really good and big. My favorite was the gluten free whoopee pumpkin that I had at there bakery. It was out of this world!!!!! The staff isn't very friendly. I got multiple looks from employees like "why are you shopping here" I felt very cold and not welcomed and asked for help and was pushed aside by someone skinnier than me. I just have to publicly profess my love for Roots! I have been a loyal customer for the last five or six years and I just absolutely love this store. Im there at least a few times a week. I love grabbing my coffee there at the coffee bar or getting a smoothie and I'm always able to pick up whatever vitamins and supplements I need. The staff has always been kind and friendly. You surely could stock up on everything you need here, would it not be so darn expensive. Yes, I know organic costs more, but here the prices are about double of Trader Joe's and higher that at Sprouts and Whole foods as well. I enjoyed looking around but other than my coffee I didn't buy anything, it really was that darn expensive. What a shame, I really liked this store, clean, fully stocked and nice service. Love the selection they have to offer!! Only complaint is make sure to check the pricing on supplements online before buying them here. Online could be up to 10-15$ cheaper for the same thing. I love this market. I don't live in Temecula; I'm from South San Diego so I visit for my lunch break when I have to see a client in the area. It's awesome here. Am awesome selection of organic goods, gluten free products, and just all natural, healthy foods. It's not very large but you wouldn't think so with the great selection they offer. Their salad bar is great but I love their sandwiches. Love love love them. I posted their prices but I know it isn't too clear. I usually get a half sandwich ($4.99) with maybe a gluten free wheat free seedy cookie or chocolate cookie as a dessert (from their awesome bakery). A whole sandwich is $6.99 and if you get it as a panini, it's $7.99. You customize it with their great selection of crisp, fresh items. I love getting chicken salad (huge chunks of breast meat) with veganaise and deli mustard, tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, pickles, and a little sprouts on rye swirl bread. Their turkey pastrami is great, the tuna salad is yum, and their turkey sandwich is never fails :) They're located right next to CostPlus World Market right by the Promenade. The staff are always so welcoming and helpful. They're knowledgeable about what they carry and they're just plain friendly. I really wish we had one in Chula Vista. It's like having a small Whole Foods Market but with just the best part :) read more

Lately, since I've been going to dance classes, I've been trying to eat less grease. Today, was no exception. I opted for the small chicken salad and pita chips. The chicken salad didn't have regular mayo in it...it had vegonaise. Hahaha. I always thought that organic roots will always have the best and the most fresh products until yesterday. We bought a watermelon, which is much costlier than any place around (we bought because we really liked the taste last time). I cut the watermelon and found it's completely rotten inside, water coming out of the melon and it color turned dark red and completely soggy and soft with a weird smell.
