I want to say that, for me, McKenzie-Willamette hospital is the best hospital in the area. I have…read morehad to go to the hospital 3 times for emergency and the wait was less than 1/2 hour in all 3 cases. I was taken care of and the problem I had was taken care of by the doctors and nurses. The last few months I was at the hospital due to blocked arteries which caused me to have a triple bypass, heart shocked twice, an ablation, and finally a pacemaker implanted. After my bypass I ended up in the Cardiac Care Unit where I was taken care of by the most professional caring doctors and nurses. It was like my comfort and recovery were the most important task they had. It is no wonder that they and the doctors and nurses at the McKenzie Heart Group are a level 3 star for patient care and outcomes. My understanding is that is the highest level attainable and there are only 3 in all of Oregon. Two in Portland and one at McKenzie-Willamette hospital with the McKenzie Heart group. You couldn't do any better than them for your heart care especially if you need bypass surgery.

When i see people throwing the race card around i did not have any experience from the staff here i was here from Thursday 9/24 until 9/28, 2026 i felt absolutely cared for and respected!! Trust me i personally know what racism looks and feels like and i didnt have any of that the entire time i was there!! All the nurses and aides, respiratory therapists Robert & D dont wanna get his name wrong but he'll know it's him cuz I told him n I would call him that!! They were excellent at their jobs and I got my breathing g treatments every 4 hours!! Christine on Thursday was absolutely amazing and very sweet. Christine was one of the first people I met when I was rolled up to the 3rd floor. She was amazing before her shift was over clearly explained everything to me. How they were gonna make sure to help me get my breathing on track and I would be there all weekend!! I appreciated that because honestly I thought i was going to die!! To the all the people who helped me i cant thank you enough for your genuine caring and compassion. I feel grateful and want you all to know that u helped save my life!! With all the blood draws, and constant care I see how hard u all work and how busy u all are!! I especially want to thank the lady whose favorite color is orange of any shade!! I forgot her name but she was such a beautiful warm and friendly nurse. She had went to Greece with her husband for their 30 year anniversary. What a great lady .!! Amazing. So as u can tell i was in contact with a diverse group of caregivers and was well tooken care of. So was the lady I shared a room with . Anyway the weekend day I think NP was also amazing . She was great. For 4 days of great care I am breathing better and alive to talk about it!! THANK U ALL SO MUCH!!! Really quick like this isnt the only experience I've had here this is my go to hospital because it beats the alternative!! So please dont assume oh I've been here one time and dont know what im talking about. One more thing as we all know Dr's aren't passing out opiates and those type of pain pills like they used to, it is just the way it is these days. I am not implying that every one is drug seeking by any means but we all know they are out there. Laws have changed and no doctor wants to lose his career or license by passing out opiates like candy!! Times have changed . Rules and laws have to be followed!! Next, I came to a beautiful office and waited about 10 min for the Dr. the Dr. and I chatted and went over my medical history and concerns for 1 hour. Very great experience and a very sincere human. I felt extremely at ease and could understand everything we talked about. I have a positive outlook for my health and happy I found someone who can support my goals. We searched for different options, and are so happy that we landed at the Willamette Valley Cancer Center. First, the front desk including Shirley, Jada, and others is so welcoming, kind, gracious and compassionate. Shirley went out of her way to get us into see Dr. Wells as soon as possible. Jada welcomes each patient, and whoever is with them with a big smile, enthusiastic greeting, and constant warmth and kindness. This process is so daunting, but right from the time you walk in the door- you feel you are in the best of hands. Dr. Wells, his nurses and staff have been wonderful. Dr. Wells treats my dad each time like he is the most important patient in the world. He listens, and explains things thoroughly in a language that my father and our family can understand. When my dad had to go to radiation therapy, the staff there was outstanding. Robby made my dad as comfortable as possible for each and every treatment. Taking an interest in his personal life, and hearing him brag about his grandkids on each visit. Once the immunotherapy treatment began, they continued to treat my father with great grace and kindness. Denise has been super each time. She is kind and patient, without fail. If you are reading this, I'm very sorry. I know you are in a tough spot, and I hope you can have the same success my father is having. When he had his visit they told him that the cancer had spread to his lungs, which was NOT true. He then received world class cancer treatment out of state and that's where we learned this horrible truth. The cancer itself (skin cancer) could have been treated but the damage on his lungs made it too difficult for him to fight and he did not survive. He went to WVC for help. He trusted them and felt comfortable letting them treat him. And in return they were careless and killed an otherwise very healthy and active man. It was shocking and incredibly painful. WVC, there is nothing to discuss. Please do not ask me to reach out to you. We are devastated.

Next Brooke took me to the prep area and explained what was going to be happening next. She then passed me off to Teri who continued prepping me, answering all my questions and staying with me until it was time to go to the operating theater. When I awoke there was another nurse ( didn't get her name) who stayed with me until I was released. Because I am hypoglycemic she had my choice of apple juice or apple sauce waiting for me when I awoke. Everything went very smoothly and would definitely use the facility again.

I sat in the waiting room for just five minutes or so before they called my name. Waiting area is small, but there was never more than two people seated there. My provider, Amanda, put me at ease right away. She was friendly and upbeat, and listened to me. She communicated well with me, explaining her assessment of my condition, the diagnosis and treatment, and what comes next. The thing I *loved* is they filled my prescription right on the spot in less than five minutes. Copays for the appointment and Rx was much less than I expected. I was in and out of there in less than 45 minutes. All medical access should be this easy.
