I've been a patient of Dr. Tufariello since I moved to Oregon four years ago. She has always been…read morevery nice and professional, as have the rest of the staff here. The nurses are always very friendly and the front desk staff are quick and nice. I've never had issues reaching them over the phone. I've had an ultrasound, a uterine biopsy, and most recently a bisalp and ablation under Dr. Tufariello. The biopsy was done without painkillers and was horrible but that's the state of women's healthcare in this country and my doctor had no control over it - it was the insurance company's fault. My surgery last week went great and Dr. Tufariello was very kind and thorough when answering my long list of questions. She kept me at ease and helped me feel better when I was nervous. She did not try to push me or talk me out of the procedure even though it was elective. She simply asked once to make sure I knew I couldn't have kids after and when I said I knew and was sure I didn't want any kids she moved on and helped me. In this day and age I have to appreciate that. I'm not sure why Women's Care has so many bad reviews because I have only ever had positive experiences here. The staff all care deeply about their jobs and everyone is very gentle and understanding. Even the lab techs are gentle and friendly. I will continue to be a patient here and recommend them to my friends whenever I can.

I definitely want to warn other women about going here. I saw Angela Lovelace to address heavy…read morebleeding and birth control methods. She recommended an IUD and I agreed. She did not do any pre-testing, ultrasound, or imaging to check out my suspected fibroids. After insertion the IUD ended up scraping against uterus and causing extreme pain. I had to demand it be taken out immediately and asked for an ultrasound. She had so much trouble understanding the imaging (the IUD was creating a shadow that seemed suspicious) and actually asked me if I had forgotten about a previous IUD inside my body. What?! No, I have never had an IUD and I would not forget about something like that. Horrible care, dismissive of pain, and unfortunately there are not many options in Eugene for ob-gyn care. I now go to Grassroots Gynocology and the fibroid clinic at OHSU. Don't go here if you can help it!

Dr. Catherine York is the most amazing doctor ever. No words can describe her dedication to her…read morepractice and her patients. She helped guide me pre-pregnancy and then helped me with my high risk monochorionic di amniotic (identical) twins. She worked closely with the MFMs, Dr. Balderston and Dr. Clausen. She made sure I had the monitoring I needed when I was diagnosed with twin to twin transfusion syndrome and twin anemia-polycythemia sequence. This pregnancy was quite a journey I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and had to stay in the hospital, every day Dr. York came by to make sure I was ok and had everything I needed. I ended up in pre-term labor and she even came in on her day off and performed the csection even with one baby almost coming! Post-op pain was managed well and I continued to have pre-eclampsia postpartum, so follow up was done outpatient and screening for postpartum mental health check. She is caring and thoughtful, as well as her whole team, special shout-out to Arvilla, RN! Thank you all! Only reason for 4/5 is scheduling, but what medical office doesn't have issues with that?

went to riverbend emergency department in early march, they said i had a cyst on an ovary and…read morereferred me here. i was scheduled originally in june but then was called back and rescheduled for late march with dr hermann. i was then told 4 different times for my appointment via text reminders, and when i called to ask when it actually was i was told it was a full hour after they had told me they scheduled it originally. after showing up and being taken back, i gave a very thorough explanation of the symptoms i had been experiencing. dr hermann was dismissive of what i thought had been going on, and didn't listen to anything i had concerns about. i had been bleeding vaginally for two months and he blamed it on the birth control i've been on with no issues for 6 years. he also then decided adding a second form of birth control was the only solution to the bleeding, even after i let him know i have a history of mental illness and responding poorly to hormonal birth control. after telling him any penetration or external stimulation was extremely painful he proceeded to tell me he was going to do a routine pap smear. he did not ask if i wanted to, he told me he would be doing that. he asked me if i had been std tested recently, and when i said it had been around 8 months he said "we'll do that today as well." i then said i had only had one partner since and i did not think it was necessary and he dismissed my concerns. during the actual pap smear, he told me he "couldn't find my cervix" and that he was going to "feel around a little more" he then proceeded to place his fingers inside of me without asking if that was okay or even letting me know beforehand. after this, he told me he thought my symptoms of severe abdominal/pelvic pain and constant bleeding were from something else, as cysts "don't normally cause that." he then said he would follow up in two months with another ultrasound to prove the cyst wasn't getting any bigger, gave me no solution to the severe pain, and left. overall, i had an awful experience here. i have been trying to transfer care to a different doctor here, saying i will take literally anyone else, and that has somehow been its own issue. i would really not recommend seeing dr hermann, especially if you have any history of sexual assault, as he does not seem to understand the concept of patient consent.

His staff was…read moregreat and I thought he was too until I spoke with another doc up in the Portland area and found out that we had wasted about 6 months (and 5K) doing IUI. Additionally, I could have stayed with my own gyn practice to do the IUI and not travel down to Eugene every month which was a pain since I live in Corvallis. AND it likely would have been much cheaper. When the IUI wasn't working we had a discussion about what the next step was and he painted a picture about using meds from out of the country to save costs and my risks of having hyperovarian syndrome etc, etc. We overall wasted about a year of precious time (three months to get in to see him then another 6 months of 'treatment') When I went to the other doc up in Portland there was no scary out of the country meds and little risk of hyperovarian syndrome because of my age. I felt poorly treated by Dr. Austin and would not recommend him to anyone. The doc that cannot be beat is Dr. Eugene Stoelk at Northwest Fertility Center.
