Dr. Catherine York is the most amazing doctor ever. No words can describe her dedication to her practice and her patients. She helped guide me pre-pregnancy and then helped me with my high risk monochorionic di amniotic (identical) twins. She worked closely with the MFMs, Dr. Balderston and Dr. Clausen. She made sure I had the monitoring I needed when I was diagnosed with twin to twin transfusion syndrome and twin anemia-polycythemia sequence. This pregnancy was quite a journey I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and had to stay in the hospital, every day Dr. York came by to make sure I was ok and had everything I needed. I ended up in pre-term labor and she even came in on her day off and performed the csection even with one baby almost coming! Post-op pain was managed well and I continued to have pre-eclampsia postpartum, so follow up was done outpatient and screening for postpartum mental health check. She is caring and thoughtful, as well as her whole team, special shout-out to Arvilla, RN! Thank you all! Only reason for 4/5 is scheduling, but what medical office doesn't have issues with that? read more

went to riverbend emergency department in early march, they said i had a cyst on an ovary and referred me here. i was scheduled originally in june but then was called back and rescheduled for late march with dr hermann. i was then told 4 different times for my appointment via text reminders, and when i called to ask when it actually was i was told it was a full hour after they had told me they scheduled it originally. after showing up and being taken back, i gave a very thorough explanation of the symptoms i had been experiencing. dr hermann was dismissive of what i thought had been going on, and didn't listen to anything i had concerns about. i had been bleeding vaginally for two months and he blamed it on the birth control i've been on with no issues for 6 years. he also then decided adding a second form of birth control was the only solution to the bleeding, even after i let him know i have a history of mental illness and responding poorly to hormonal birth control. after telling him any penetration or external stimulation was extremely painful he proceeded to tell me he was going to do a routine pap smear. he did not ask if i wanted to, he told me he would be doing that. he asked me if i had been std tested recently, and when i said it had been around 8 months he said "we'll do that today as well." i then said i had only had one partner since and i did not think it was necessary and he dismissed my concerns. during the actual pap smear, he told me he "couldn't find my cervix" and that he was going to "feel around a little more" he then proceeded to place his fingers inside of me without asking if that was okay or even letting me know beforehand. after this, he told me he thought my symptoms of severe abdominal/pelvic pain and constant bleeding were from something else, as cysts "don't normally cause that." he then said he would follow up in two months with another ultrasound to prove the cyst wasn't getting any bigger, gave me no solution to the severe pain, and left. overall, i had an awful experience here. i have been trying to transfer care to a different doctor here, saying i will take literally anyone else, and that has somehow been its own issue. i would really not recommend seeing dr hermann, especially if you have any history of sexual assault, as he does not seem to understand the concept of patient consent. read more

me and my wife have been coming here for our baby's ultrasounds, they are supposed to be happy memories right!, there's a few techs that don't do there job right, really rude not only to us but out 1 almost 2 year old son, we got sent over to the Emergency Room because the ultrasound techs here dont have the training they need to have, and saying our baby was 2 pounds smaller then what the emergency rooms ultrasound came back as, saying our baby had some stuff going on that really gave us a scare just for the ER to tell us that this place was wrong and they have no clue why we where even there. spent 2 nights at the ER without out 2 year old son so they can just get us in to tell us that theres no reason for us to be there after a big scare thanks guys! I've experienced some pretty awful gyno experiences, but my care at Women's Care was probably the worst. I was pretty desperate when I went in having symptoms (of what I thought was) perimenopause. I was randomly given Dr Herrmann; I wasn't asked if I had a preference for male or female doctor or any other preference - I was just given this doctor. Like I said, I was desperate, so I took whoever I could so I could see someone ASAP. He was very dismissive of what I was trying to tell him. An attitude of "I know better than you." After a lot of persuading, I finally got him to at least test for my hormone levels which his nurse informed me were normal. At the end of my appointment, I was told I was fine. I wasn't. There was no follow up on what was causing my symptoms. He just told me I wasn't going into perimenopause. I sat on this non-diagnosis for a month or so and then I called Woman's Care and asked to see a different doctor. I wanted a second opinion. I was told they had to get permission from the second doctor and let the first doctor know his patient wanted to see this other doctor. The second doctor would have to approve of me switching doctors. I asked, "So they have to approve me before I can get a second option?" They said, "Yes, that's our policy. Courtesy to the doctors." I said, Nevermind. I will go somewhere else for my second option. I went to Peacehealth Gynecology and saw an amazing doctor. First visit, she scheduled an ultrasound and found fibroids in my uterus which was the cause of ALL of my problems that I thought were related to perimenopause. I just had a hysterectomy and I'm feeling a million times better! I'm now a true advocate for second options. Get one if your gut tells you you should and if your doctors office won't let you, go somewhere else! If I hadn't been dismissed and they'd done an ultrasound, I could have had this issue resolved four years ago! Don't go to Women's Care. Just don't if you want to be listened to and your needs taken care of. read more

I was referred to women's care by my primary doctor for a LEEP procedure to remove precancerous cells from my cervix. I ended up seeing Dr. Hermann as he was the soonest available doctor. I had my apprehensions about the procedure due to some poor gynecological experiences in the past. I asked to speak with a nurse to learn more about what happens during the procedure and what types of medications will be used for pain, bleeding, etc. I was first told that getting a call from a nurse would not be possible. As the date of the procedure drew nearer, I asked again, explaining that I would like to understand the procedure and medications that would be used ahead of time to prepare myself since I am a breast feeding mother. I got a call back from a nurse who told me she doesn't attend these procedures but she'll ask another nurse who does. I specifically asked if adrenaline would be used in the procedure. Another nurse called me back and gave me very little information. She also said she attended this procedure many times and adrenaline was very rarely used. It turns out adrenaline is nearly ALWAYS used in conjunction with lidocaine to combat the decrease in heart rate that lidocaine causes for the LEEP procedure. I found this out and several other pieces of missing information minutes before the procedure. Before the procedure Dr. Hermann was glib and business-like which did not bother me too much. At that point I was just eager to get it over with. When the doctor went to insert the speculum, he commented on my labia and how my postpartum stitches had healed. When I told him I had a home birth with midwives, he disparagingly remarked, "I thought so" in reference to their work stitching me up. After the procedure, he began to feel around my labia without consent to assess my stitches, talking to the nurse about how they had healed. He suggested if I want to have intercourse or another child, I should consider getting it fixed. I have seen multiple gynos since my birth and none of them have commented on my stitches or touched my body without consent. I was so stunned that a doctor would behave that way towards me while I was in such a vulnerable position. When I asked about aftercare, I was told I would experience some brown discharge from the paste they use to staunch bleeding and in two weeks I might notice a small amount of bleeding. I was not told to take it easy, not lift heavy things, not take baths or go swimming. I found all of that out online after I had already taken baths and lifted my 20 lb toddler as usual for multiple days in a row. Fast forward two weeks later to when I lose a pint of blood and sit in the ER for hours because my primary tells me to seek immediate medical care. Women's care called me to tell me Dr. Hermann thinks I should wait a day and see if the bleeding stops. The labs at the ER indicate an infection. The next day two nurses call me back to back to tell me I can come in for an assessment. I declined. I will see my primary doctor for the infection I now have due to the poor care and information I received at women's care. It is very clear to me that their ethics do not include building truthful and caring provider/patient relationships. Go anywhere but here. Also, not everyone with a uterus is a woman. At the very least consider a more gender inclusive name. After everything that happened to me, that's expecting way too much humanity out of these people. read more

Dr Kyle is unsympathetic and she just wants to do the least amount of care, just enough to pacify her patients so they will stop asking questions. She implies the worst possible outcome of all the tests she does, plants fear in people's minds and tells them they are fine, then changes her mind and orders more tests. It's like a psychological game designed to milk as much money from the insurance companies without actually curing anyone. For example, I have been seeing Dr Kyle for more than three years and I still don't know why I'm having lower right abdominal pain for 5 years. She sent me to a urologist and a gastroenterologist, but still, no diagnosis. Finally, she said that the pain may have something to do with back pain radiating into my abdominal area, but of course she didn't do anything to prove or disprove her theory. She did a procedure on the inside of my cervix that caused abnormal bleeding too. I know it's abnormal because I am 53 and in menopause. I called the triage nurse and then all that Dr Kyle did is push more provera on me. A birth control pill for crying out loud! She already knew it wouldn't work. That goes back to what I was saying about pacifying her patients! Well, I have news for her, I'm not going to be quiet about this, because all along instead of her pawning me off on other doctors, and pushing birth control pills she should have ordered an MRI. I have had ultrasounds, x- rays exams, and a cat scan, and I still don't have a diagnosis! She knows I need an MRI. Even I know that and I'm not a doctor! It's just common sense. She has not ever even discussed ordering an MRI for me. It's as if she thinks that my life is not worth the cost of the test. She has definitely done me more harm than good. read more

Dr. Kyle delivered my son and made what what meant to be a very special experience terrible. She was rude, dismissive, demanding, and transactional. She lacks the kind of empathy a Dr should have. She did not converse with me before she did anything. Demanded me to start pushing when I wasn't ready. Then forced me to push on my back when I did not want to. I hope she can understand the negative impact she has on patients and change. read more

This review is a long time coming... I STRONGLY CAUTION everybody from going to this unethical and reprehensible Doctor's office. I would only go if you want to risk being straight up scammed out of money. I'll tell the full story so you don't think I'm some crazy/hysterical/exaggerating person. We called to get a simple ultrasound to check where the placenta was. Since we are cash-pay customers, my wife asked how much it was and they said $200. This is in line (or a bit higher) than what we have paid for pregnancy ultrasounds. We double checked the cost on the confirmation call. Yep, "$200 due at the time of the appointment." My wife shows up, gets the ultrasound. On her way out, they say yes it's a $200 DEPOSIT... and you will get the bill later. Confused, my wife pays the deposit and leaves. We call later and they bill us $599 for one ultrasound, $330 for ANOTHER ultrasound, and $339 for a "new patient detailed visit". Almost $1300 for something quoted as $200 over the phone. I can tell you 100% honestly, that if they quoted us even $300, we would have declined and gone somewhere else, since every other ultrasound (about 6-7 of them over the course of 2 babies) was under $200. They claimed $200 is "unheard of", which is a total LIE. I asked if they wanted me to show them a receipt from a Doctor in Portland who did it for $170. They declined. Long story short, after numerous calls and fights, we got them to cut it in half. So we still had to pay over $600 for something we thought was going to be $200. During the many conversations, I asked, "What is the cost of an ultrasound for cash pay?" The office manager replied, "We don't give prices out to cash pay patients before we perform services." THIS RIGHT HERE is all you need to know! What kind of business doesn't disclose their prices? They illegally duped us into thinking it was $200, did a bait and switch, and charged us over $1000 more. This isn't insurance, guys. This is cash pay. They took advantage of a young family paying cash. This is the lowest of the low. (Contrast this to our Birthing Center who gave us an entire breakdown of every single fee up front, charged us, gave us 22% cash pay discount, and never asked for another dime after.) The women who run this company have no morals, no integrity, and have absolutely illegal billing practices. Our mistake was not getting a good-faith estimate in writing before we came in... because we would have learned that we CAN'T get one from this business. I considered disputing this charge with the Federal Government's new "No Surprises Act" hotline, which would help me dispute the charges. But honestly, I decided it's not worth the headache for $450 or so. I am still contemplating reporting them to Oregon medical board or similar government agencies because these people should not be allowed to do this to anybody else. So in conclusion, don't go here. If you do, make sure you DEMAND a good-faith estimate in writing before showing up. If the doctor or practitioner wants do something that you didn't order, make sure you SPEAK UP and get a written quote for that. Otherwise, you might end up with a big bill and needing to take hours and weeks negotiating it down with them. Even then, you may be saddled with an unjust bill. To the people who run this business... maybe you want to look inside yourselves and do some self-reflection on whether you want to be operating immorally and illegally. Would it really kill you to be transparent about your pricing? Or is that just beneath you? If you ask me, you just put your entire business at risk and destroy your honor. read more

Educate yourself ladies. Do your homework, read reviews, get second opinions and question everything. After seeing Dr. Babcock for my annuals the past few years I wound up with enough "issues" that a partial hysterectomy was recommended. "Your uterus is big enough that your insurance will pay for it" "The downside is that your pants will fit better and you won't have your period anymore." I was coaxed down the path of consideration, no pressure though. When it started sounding good to me I was referred to Dr. Bock for the surgery. The plan was partial hysterectomy...one tube one ovary...at my pre-op both tubes were listed on the "what you signed off on" form. I signed. My boyfriend started doing research and had some questions...and so did I. Why both tubes suddenly? Would my cervix be removed as well? Sexual function questions too, but I didn't ask those - my boyfriend had found a lot of information himself for me. The Friday before my Monday surgery I called with my questions - and as cold and robotic as Dr. Bock, and Michelle (who handles the paperwork) Alicia informed me that "They always remove the cervix." Why, I ask. Because there's no reason to leave it, she says... "So why take it?" There's no reason to leave it." Well, I think there is, and it's my body, soooo... I was never told my cervix would be removed or what other problems that can cause. Dr. Babcock and Dr. Bock never discussed this with me, never cared about me enough to. What did I ever to to them? I am left wondering... Finally, Alicia (with no compassion - working here I get it now) she explains that both tubes were discussed with me by Dr. Bock and agreed by me for the purpose of cancer prevention. WHAT?!? Are you kidding me? Radical cancer prevention for no reason that I can think of, no family history and risking very critical and important things that do matter to me? Really?!? With my very personal experiences with cancer and my beliefs, it is IMPOSSIBILE that I a "let's remove your body parts to prevent them from getting cancer" conversation and FORGOT it. It is quite literally impossible. Yet, she has the nerve to say to me, "If you don't remember having that conversation..." Something she must have to say re-gu-lar-ly, I suspect. I request a call back from Dr. Bock, as I definitely have questions before surgery for her and Alicia responds, "...if we can get you in to see her today..." Really?!? Dr. Bock never bothers to return my call, so I don't show up for surgery. There is NO chance that I am going to allow someone who has lied to me about her intent to remove more parts from my body than I am aware of is going to get me under anesthesia and under her knife. I have had two neck (disk replacement) surgeries in the last year and a half. This was not cold feet. I get a letter from her in the mail the day after I don't show at the hospital stating that she tried repeatedly to reach me on Friday... Uhm, how? Telepathically? Because I had my phone in my hand the entire day and managed to get Alicia's calls. It also says a lot of information is discussed before surgery...etc. etc. etc. One lie after another...painting a picture (a template letter no doubt as this must be routine if us woman get lucky) that I was so overwhelmed that I forgot discussing it. Impossible, though she would not know that. Dr. Bock spoke fewer than 20 words to me over the two visits preceding surgery. This place scares me and I am so grateful that my boyfriend had questions. Hysterectomies are a big money-maker. Had these doctors had my well-being at heart instead of the bottom line of their business they would not have recommended and planned what they did. Of that I am sure. Unfortunately, they didn't care enough about me to ask me questions. Not one, that would indicate they had any interest in the effects on me of all this. Not one! When you adopt a pet from the shelter you get counseling to make sure you are prepared for what could come. When Women's Care recommends a partial hysterectomy, then adds little bits and pieces into the plan of removal - they have very little to say, no questions other than "Do you have any questions" and no more than 20 words spoken. Now I now know why I felt so uneasy about Dr. Bock. Big medical business, what a crying shame. I am disappointed and disgusted and at a loss for words. Other than, do your homework and ask a lot of questions ladies, please. What a very scary place to be for a woman who does not ask enough questions and is easily guided into dangerous territory. Because your insurance will cover it. I am more sad than I am mad - but I am also grateful that I was able to turn it around before my womanhood was stripped of me. I can't speak for the other reviews here but I can say for myself I had a very pleasant experience here with my first pregnancy. I'm always reading DR reviews so I'm sure is going to help. I was seen by Dr. Jewett and didn't have any complaints with her. She always made me feel comfortable and at ease. Informative, easy to talk to, and honest but not pushy. My labor went so much better than I ever imagined. Anyway, We moved and I feel like I'm always going to compare future OB's to her! If you can see Dr. Paula Jewett, you won't be sorry. read more

I had a little mini-surgery here two months ago and I found the doctor and receptionists and nurses to very patient and compassionate. My doctor even let me inspect the polyp that was removed from my body, and I remark that it looked like a baby snail. They were gentle and kind. read more

I imagine this place is short staffed. Or something. They have an extremely poor phone communication protocol. They make you wait way too long for returned calls regarding important test results. Here is my experience: They called me to report something urgent, but I missed the call. I called them back within 2 minutes, but I was told I would have to wait for a nurse to call me back again to get my news. 6 HOURS later, I called them again & told them I would be coming down there to find out my results in person if they didn't have a nurse call me. 20 minutes later I finally got a call from a nurse. Also, to reach them, you have to leave a message with their call center. You can't actually directly call their offices. I've switched my health care to a better managed office which actually answers their own phones. I hope Women's Care can find a way to improve their services. It was very difficult and stressful for me to wait for their callbacks regarding important health matters. Maybe they could create a flagging system to prioritize more urgent calls that need to be made? read more

Over all is a good place to go! But I the OB I got was Brooke Kyle, i felt my concerns were always passed and did not matter. I would ask questions and felt I would get half the answer most the time. At my 40 week appointment me and her were talking and she gave me a warning that my fiancé might not being able to go in the room due to COVID cases going back up. I was super upset and she made it seem like it was going to happen. read more

You will love your experience with the doctors and the staff. You will want to bang your head against a wall repeatedly when it comes to their billing department. I have been told 3 different "Billing options" from their billing department. All conflict with one another and so far it changes with every invoice. You are better to just talk to your insurance company. read more

Went in for our FIRST prenatal checkup, felt more like cattle than a patient. $200 deposit when we checked in, then off to billing to discuss payment plans and were give our "two options" from someone who seemed hard pressed to sell us on the idea of having our child there. Finally a healthy wait time only to find out the doctor was on call and got called out. The nurse wanted us to get prescription prenatal vitamins only to find out the ones we're taking are sufficient then pressed us to get a flu shot! Practice manager says they'll work on better training... Won't be going back, would much rather drive up to Portland for our appointments. read more

I this place. I had an abnormal PAP Smear and my doc had to recommend me to get a Colposcopy . Now, I love my doctor because over the years he's gotten to know me so I trusted him when he had to send me to these people has a specialist. First off, there was no other person than the doc in the room. I don't care if it's a female, with the trauma I had been through it wasn't right. Then she said OOPS! She rips a piece off and says, oh, that's not enough. After that, she didn't explain the results. So I was freaked for months afterwards. I was experiencing odd shit that no one was explaining and my doc sat me down and helped me through it, NOT THEM! It's a year later, they say I need another PAP, so when the lady called to schedule and I told her no, she started fighting with me. I told her I have a normal doctor and that if I had any issues I would go through him. That wasn't good enough and I ended up having to hang up on her. A week later they're sending me mail...So I called them up and asked for them to take me off their clientele list again. Hoping it works this time, because I know there are actual caring people out in Eugene/Springfield area, these people are not one of them. read more

I have been to this location 4 or 5 times over the past 4 months, and I have had a great experience every time. Dr. Kelel and her nurses are warm and friendly. The ladies at the check in counter have always been lovely as well. They all went above and beyond to get me in right away before the holiday weekend when I was in pain (Not pregnancy related). I'm sure some of that had to do with availability on their end, but the 5 people I spoke to and saw (scheduler, Dr. Kelel's nurse who took my symptoms over the phone and got the note off to the Dr. , etc) were all incredibly sympathetic and just plain nice. I lost my longtime OB/GYN a few years back when she retired, and I was referred to Dr. Kelel to check out some cysts. Since then she has helped me with a couple of other things. I decided to comment only after having two bad experiences with Women's Care. My first was a year ago, and I had an appointment with one of their NP's who was dismissive and almost rude about my concerns, and told me she "had no idea" what my problem was. I left the office in tears and still no answers about what was wrong with me. Fast forward to recently, when I had another issue that was pressing, and I called to see if I could get an appointment with any of their many practitioners ASAP. When I explained what was wrong and was in pain, I was told that I'd get a call back from a nurse later. When she called, I explained my symptoms (which could have been indicative of several different things) and what I'd already done to treat them, she just told me to "wait and see" if it got better and that there wasn't a reason for me to come in for an appointment. She vaguely mentioned something about calling back tomorrow, but I couldn't tell exactly what she meant. I was shocked but not surprised that once again, my concerns were dismissed. I'll absolutely not be returning. PS: I ended up having to go to urgent care (Eugene Urgent Care on Coburg, four stars) and they treated me infinitely better, and gave me a diagnosis that was in no way what the nurse on the phone at Women's Care thought I might have. It's something that needs to be treated right away, and if I'd listened to the Women's Care nurse, I would have been in really bad shape. read more

I went to this facility for my first ever OBGYN appoinment for my first ever pregnancy. My experience was so terrible that i left feeling like i needed to get an abortion. I was informed that i was to fat to have a baby and that i was going to have to have my glucose test early because i was probably diabetic before i was pregnant. Then the OB did my pap smear. She hurt me. I had never had one before so i wrote it off as well maybe im sensitive down there. By that evening i was in the ER for a threatened miscarriage. The next day i got a follow up call from one of the nurses. I was informed that they had gone over the paper work from the hospital and i was fine. FINE? I ALMOST LOST MY BABY! Needless to say, i switched OBGYNs. My experience with my new OB has been the most encouraging and uplifting. Also, i am not diabetic or to fat to have a baby. I may be overweight but my blood work and my numbers show that i am perfectly healthy and my pregnancy is now apearing to be going quite well. read more

I've been here 3 times. I have always waited at least 45 minutes before they take me back. One of the issues I have is that the appointments are scheduled out at least a month. The last time I had an appointment they called me to bump the time up, which I couldn't accommodate because of the fact I was actually in the hospital and my release wasn't until later. Then when they had to reschedule the time it was for two months later. I'm literally sitting in their waiting room now and I've been here almost an hour and everyone has come and gone back besides me. People that came later than me. New to clinic. Front desk staff is not customer service friendly. Very off putting to a new patient. The problem is you have to deal with them on important matters so it actively affects your care. They should fire all and start over. They don't like to show empathy, understanding or just general good customer service. However, my doctor so far is pretty good. We shall see...I was hoping for a really encouraging and positive environment to walk into and it failed miserably. read more

I was a patient at Women's Care for a number of years and loved my OB. When I found out I was pregnant with my first pregnancy she referred me to a different OB Doctor at Womens Care. I never once felt that any of the other staff truly cared about their patients and felt as if I was just another number. I saw multiple doctors throughout my pregnancy and my appointments were constantly being rescheduled. The lady that went over the financial information was extremely rude as well! The communication between the staff was terrible and was constantly being tossed around. When I went into labor I saw 3 different doctors (non which were my OB doctor) due to her not being on rotation that day. They never tell you that your chances of seeing your actually OB doctor are slim when you go into labor which I think is ridiculous! We were not pleased with the doctor that delivered our baby. She was extremely short, rough and frustrated which is not a good combination for a first time mom. I would never want to see her again. We had a terrible experience with their lactation consultant after our little one was born. She made us feel like we were starving our baby and that he was losing way too much weight. We ended up switching to a different lactation consultant that was a much better fit. My experience as whole was not a good one and I would never recommend any of my friends to go their during there pregnancies. Its really interesting because other patients I have talked to have had very similar experiences as I had. I am now pregnant with our 2nd child and so glad we switched to a different OB Center! They actually care and take the time to get to know their patients. Do your research before you decide who takes care of you and your baby! read more

Hell no. I was lucky that for the previous few years, Dr LeClair was my doctor and he was absolutely amazing. Warm, friendly and comforting for that time of year most women are not in the mood to be patronized or dismissed. I miss him terribly. I decided to stay with the clinic, figuring the rest of the doctors were probably just as great as Dr LeClair, right? No. First when Dr LeClair retired, I got a notice in the mail. I then got notice from my pharmacy that my prescriptions were now void. So needing my birth control, I call the office to see how easy it is to switch doctors. I have to go through the "new patient" line, even though I'm a patient of the practice. Fine. They then tell me that I may have to do a whole new exam (WHAT?!) to get my prescription renewed. NO. Insurance only covers one every 12 months, what are you trying to do here?! So I say screw it, go to Planned Parenthood and in less than 5 minutes with a NP, I have my birth control renewed. My annual exam rolls around and I call in and schedule that with Dr Green. I heard he's okay and decided to give it a shot. Nope. They told me that my appointment was at 3:00. I showed up at 2:45 so I was early. Nope. 3:00 was the time to get the paperwork completed, I don't see the nurse/doctor until 3:20, they thought since I was a "new" patient, I needed much more paperwork. The girl at the desk was taken back by that even, since I had my entire medical file there at the clinic, for heavens sake! So I wasted my time waiting to be called back. I'm called back on time. Only to be sat in the exam room after initial questioning from the nurse for thirty minutes. While I could hear the doctor in the other room talking to another patient. I was not thrilled to say the least. Then when he came in and introduced himself, he made it feel like it was odd I didn't have any questions or concerns. I have been through this all before, my body is treating me well (thank God!), I just need my darn pap smear, okay? Oh and my records show the pills I'm on to handle my PCOS, so would you please renew those? My primary care doc upped them though because he sees me more than once a year to check my parts are still in check. Nope. I'll have to go to that doctor for it, even though it's all gyno related. He then states he wouldn't have given me that medication...why though? It's standard for this medical condition, it helps me, Dr LeClair started me on it and my primary upped it slightly when it wasn't quite doing the trick. It's nothing shady, I've googled that crap, why are you such a snob? Whatever. When he left the room to let me get undressed, I heard him pop into the next room with the other patient again to talk about her breast pump. Cool, your exam rooms have thin as hell walls, folks! I didn't have a choice, the nurse stood in the room while the exam was given. Dr LeClair asks if I want an audience or not. Nope. You will have one because Dr Green is worried about lawsuits, I guess. It felt like a clinic, where they line you up and try to get in as many exams as possible. He was gentle and told me everything he was going to do before he did it "I'm going to touch you now." ...LOL oh you mean you can't do this without touching me?! I am an adult woman, why are you acting like I've never had this frigging exam before?! Sigh. Whatever, there are so many doctors out there, I'll find a new one next year and hopefully they have a personality at least. Maybe some kindness in their hearts for us women who are being felt up to make sure our bodies are not betraying us. read more

I have been with Women's Care for over 12 years now. Dr. Green assisted me with my first pregnancy, which ended in a miscarriage, and delivered both of my daughters. I am now expecting my third child, and chose Dr. Green again due to his compassion, caring, and overall professional demeanor. You can tell he truly cares about each one of his patients. He is thorough and shows a general interest and concern for every question I've ever asked, and trust me there has been tons lol. He always takes the time to listen to me and I have never felt rushed or unheard. Thank you Dr. Green and the Women's Care team! read more

Not a safe space if your anything but a cis woman. They are unprofessional & unable to care for people of differing genders. I wouldn't reccomend them unless you are able to deal with constant misgendering & deadnaming under the thinly veiled apologies of "well its just our system sorry" despite the fact they do track preferred names. That aside they are not good at in forming clients of appointment times or changes. I arrived on time for my first appointment only to wait for an hour an a half because it was actually two different appointments. Today I arrived and was told my appointment was changed to a different day all together without being informed. Also the ultrasound specialist who saw me my first visit seemed incredibly displeased that I declined a pelvic floor ultrasound even after I stated I was not comfortable with the procedure. This place could really do with a few sessions of compassion training. Don't recommend, won't be going back. read more

Unfortunately, Dr. Babcock was the obgyn on-call when I was at Riverbend at 32 weeks with twins and having contractions. The obgyn and nurses before her were very gentle with me while checking my cervix as they didn't want to break my water or send me into full blown labor. They would tell me when they were going to touch me and when they were going to insert their fingers. They also would let me lower my knees to the bed myself since it was very painful because my thigh muscles hadn't been stretched in that way in months. She however was extremely rough and it was very traumatizing for a first-time mom going into pre-term labor with twins and being a sexual assault survivor. It's definitley not something that I needed to go through at such a stressful time. She pushed my knees down to the bed very roughly with no warning as I was screaming and crying in pain because I could barley walk, let alone do a full butterfly pose on my back. She shoved her hand inside of me with no warning or lube. She said how far I was to the nurse and left without saying a word. Meanwhile, I was crying in pain and she actually made my contractions worse from then on. I spoke to the nurse and she said this is normal with her and it isn't the first time they've had complaints. I confronted her about it when she came in to check me again and I refused for her to touch me. She was very rude and said "I'm going to check you, you have no choice" and I said "No, if I need checked I'll have a nurse do it. You made my contractions worse and hurt me you were so rough" as I was still crying in pain. She said "Well we will do what we have to do" and she walked away rolling her eyes in a huff as if she'd force me to let her check me the next time. The nurses backed me up confronting her and said it was my right to tell her no and that I did nothing wrong. Seems like this is a common occurance with her, the nurses standing up to her on behalf of their patient. Thank God for those nurses who were on my side and advocated for me. Luckily I hung in there for the next on-call obgyn before my babies were born. I believe that if it weren't for her, I could've kept my babies in longer. She's absolutely horrible! She never apologized and acted like she did nothing wrong and was even willing to imply that she'd do it again even after I told her no. Even my normal obgyn said that's how she is and she's heard stories similar to mine before too. I do not recommend her whatsoever! She shoudn't be a doctor if she's going to treat her patients like that. read more

I am incredibly upset after a visit to this office. In short, to them my insurance wasn't good enough, and they didn't bother reading my chart before asking questions. Read on for the unpleasant details. I suffered a miscarriage recently, and some of you may know this requires an aftercare appointment within 2-3 days to ensure the woman does not turn Septic, among other unpleasant things. After arriving early for my appointment, as instructed, I was made to wait for 40 minutes, while hugely pregnant women came after me and were seen first. Normally, this wouldn't bother me-but remember that 2 days prior I suffered a very physically and emotionally painful miscarriage-I shouldn't have been made to wait an additional 30 minutes past my appointment time there(I arrived 10 minutes early). Then, I was called back to the desk-my (very good insurance that does not require a co-pay for such a visit) was not enough, I needed to leave a $100 deposit in case they didn't pay. I would get it back when they did. First of all, my appointment was a half hour ago. why was I not told this at check-in? She then said it was required, basically no deposit, No medically necessary potentially life saving appointment for me. What do they do to all the women who are sent there from our local ER(because our hospital cut all OB staff) to that office with public insurance, or non at all? are these women sent home, potentially to turn septic and, if not die, be marked infertile for the rest of their lives? What is the thought process behind that crap?? If i hadn't my mother with me, I would have been sent away, good insurance notwithstanding. Once I was finally brought back, the tech, having not bothered to open my file to even see why I made the appointment(a mandated appointment, that I had to explain over the phone, and to which my ER report was sent prior) Asked me first, how was I feeling? I responded with a confused, as well as to be expected, and was then asked how far along was I, and which Ultrasound was this for me? Dumbfounded, I said I had had a miscarriage 2 days ago. She looked me straight in the face, first said oh I hadn't read your chart yet, and without another breath asked me How do you know you had a miscarriage? shocked, I answered, explaining my ER visit etc. She then asked me, Are you sure you had a miscarriage? I had to repeat my explanation. Then she asked me to get undressed, get up on the table, and wait for her to come back. 20 minutes later she did, proceeded with the Ultrasound, and as she did it, after I had asked the stirrups be adjusted for my too long limbs and been refused, she asked me a series of IRRELEVANT questions pertaining to, you guessed it, how I was so sure it had been a miscarriage. I was outraged. Here I am, suffering, bleeding, in pain, and being question by some hack with a wand up my cunny, who can't even erase her fake smile before asking me a series of questions about a painful and recent experience. She then proceeds to tell me Your uterus is empty, as expected-normal shedding...blah blah blah. As Expected? from the lady who kept asking me how I was so very sure I was no longer pregnant? I created this profile, and made this account without my name just to get this out there, the Womens Care website has no place to file a complaint, or even for patient concerns. And unfortunately, because this is where my ER sent me, my insurance wants me to keep the secondary appointment in a couple weeks. read more

The person I spoke with, Sabrina, was extremely condescending and you could tell by the sound in her voice she hates her job. They show 0 empathy or compassion for their patients. I arrived to my appt. on time and was told the doctor was running an hour behind. I offered to take a walk and come back. The receptionist seemed to pay attention when I reminded her to mark that I'd checked in. When I returned I waited an additional 45 minutes and realized I was being punished when the doctor chastised me for being late declaring they had to "squeeze me in". I'm sure it was never corrected on my chart. Also, if you're prescribed pain meds they make you sign a contract as if you're in juvenile hall so be ready to feel ashamed about that too! read more

I had my first visit here recently. The receptionist who checked me in was rather unpleasant and seemed either burdened by my presence or distracted. The rooms are a very small, and most of the staff seemed unresponsive. The doctor I was scheduled to meet with was actually very nice, knowledgeable and well informed about how the birthing center was ran at the main hospital. The financial coordinator was unable to give me a payment plan as she had a mis-communication with my insurance and scheduling another appointment after my visit was nearly impossible. I am still up in the air about going back if this is standard operating procedure for the staff. read more

I've had 2-3 appointments with Dr. Freeman at the Springfield Clinic and absolutely love her! I've never felt rushed by her and appreciate her sense of humor, thorough explanations, and excellent communication skills. I will say, the front desk could use a little bit more tact in certain issues. Both times I've felt they were in general, feeling a little burnt out by patient customer-service. I thought this was so because I could tell my questions were being treated with a little impatience. There have been receptionists who are really friendly and kind, but there seems to be a bit of a lack of consistency. The reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because I was a bit flustered that before my last appointment, I was asked to pay $100 up front for a service before it happened. When I explained that I was not aware of this, I was told, with a bit of that burnt-out/patronizing tone, that I was indeed told on the phone earlier that day, as she could see on my account, that someone told me I should expect to pay the $100 at the time of my visit. I explained that the nurse on the phone had told me this was entirely optional, not that it was required, and that I'd rather pay the final bill when I get it after my insurance pays. This was met with indifference, rather than any sense of understanding/good customer service/apology. On that note, I'd recommend this clinic reframe how they explain this payment of services when patients call, and not be miffed when the patient, within their right, does not want to pay for a service that has not yet even happened! read more
