Dr Beyerlein is the best OB I have had. I am a 58 yo woman that has had severe bleeding issues my entire life. He is the ONLY OB that has worked to resolve the issue. I had a fully hysterectomy in mid November and have never felt better. Thank you Dr. Beyerlein! read more

I would not recommend this office if you have a choice to go anywhere else. I had a new patient appointment scheduled for the next couple of weeks and do not live in town. I wanted to get my paperwork and a feel for the office. I was immediately told that they are short staffed and could not facilitate a walkthrough of the facility-- but there should be pictures online. For the amount that I am paying out of pocket to be seen here, I canceled my appointment. In addition to the poor care by staff, the parking lot is impossible to find a spot. If you do, the spots are so tight! Don't expect to be able to get out of your car pregnant, let alone with a car seat. read more

I was so sad when Dr. Beller left. He had been my OB/GYN since 2002 when I first moved to Oregon. He delivered my son and I thought he had the best bedside manner. I think they made a great choice with Dr. Wakefield. In my opinion I thought he had very large shoes to fill but he's filling and fitting them comfortably. He's very comforting and explains everything well. He also has great bedside manners. I hope he sticks around at PWC because he's a great addition to the clinic. read more

I only have good things to say about Pacific Women's Center. I have been seeing Dr. Haugen for decades. I seriously feel like I hit the jackpot having her as my OB-GYN. She has provided excellent care at every stage - the birth control years, during my miscarriage, during my 2nd pregnancy and the delivery of my son, and now menopause. I don't ever want her to retire! Whenever I talk to the labor & delivery nurses at my hospital, they rave about her, too. The rest of the staff here is also excellent. read more

The care here received was some of the worst I have ever experienced. The two different providers that I experienced demonstrated clear homophobia/transphobia (which I guess I should have known from the name), ageism and a lack of overall kindness. My confidential information was shared with a family member, when there was not a release, which just reiterates how unsafe this practice is. Dr. Haugen delivered my baby back in the beginning of April, right at the beginning of the pandemic. The pregnancy was a stressful one, but I knew I was in good and caring hands. Never once did Dr Haugen or her nurses make me feel like my concerns were not valid, and I always felt that they took every opportunity to provide optimum care, even referring me to Maternal and Fetal Medicine multiple times to coordinate care and ensure a healthy baby. During labor, we weren't sure if Dr Haugen was going to make it as she was in another room delivering another patients baby, but she finished up with that patient and came right in to deliver my baby. No breaks, and I can imagine tired, but she never let it show. All of the L&D nurses gushed about how great Dr Haugen is, and I couldn't agree more. She and her nurses, and the entire staff (excepting one rather surly u/s tech) are lovely. read more

She's has been so fantastic over the years of regular exams and my most recent Pregnancy.The billing office worked with me to set up an affordable payment plan I could manage during my pregnancy. I scheduled my annual exam with the gynecologist I had seen 2 times before. When I got to the office they told me they had to reschedule me. Fine. I know that things happen and the doctor could be tied up in surgery. But they want to push my annual exam 2 months forward. I have a condition that they are monitoring and it is important to be seen at least once a year. It irks me that when they postponed me through no fault of my own, they pushed the next appointment date out 2 months. I'll see what they say when the scheduling person calls back with some proposed solution. I am sympathetic if this is a result of lack of staff due to covid. I asked if I could see a different doctor and I'm waiting for a call back on that. read more

Dr. Burke Beller is a quack doctor. He ordered extra blood work for me after I had just been in the ER only 5 days before for an ovarian cyst issue, claiming they were necessary because of my "sexual history" referring to me being raped by a total stranger a few months earlier and contracting an STI. He made me feel like a prostitute. He should be ashamed of his practices and how he treats his patients. He made me feel bad about standing up for myself and then proceeded to bill me for tests I never needed nor could I afford, so now I'm in medical debt that won't go away because he refuses to acknowledge his mistake. He's chipping away at my credit and he doesn't even care. Trust this doctor at your own risk. If you can even call him a doctor. read more

The financial department of this organization is the dysfunctional and uses threatening unprofessional tactics to collect debts from post-partum mothers. Avoid this place, there are much better options in the Eugene/Springfield area. You can imagine my shock when I received an overdue bill shortly after giving birth with a threatening letter from Tammy N in the collections department. This bill was for only a couple hundred dollars, seriously? I immediately called the listed number for Tammy and left a message but never received a call back. Fast forward a couple weeks later where someone from their billing department called and argued with me regarding the validity of the letter and couldn't imagine someone sending something like this from their office and assured me the office manager would contact us. After waiting several weeks for a response they ended up sending it to collections. You have got to be kidding me, after collecting tens of thousands of dollars of insurance payouts and thousands of dollars out of pocket from ourselves you are going to send threatening letters to PATIENTS over a couple hundred bucks. We would have happily paid this bill immediately just like every other bill we received if it wasn't for the threatening letter from Tammy. Extremely unprofessional billing and collections tactics from this Organization. I would recommend looking elsewhere before embarking on your journey with Pacific Women's Center. Note to management. Not a good idea to allow your collections employees to send personal letters outside of a standard collections template. This opens you up to liability... read more

While the doctor I visited was proficient in what she was doing, I will not be returning. I don't want children running around my GYN's office. Disrespectful, really. To their mothers, and to the doctors' office: Think about others. Think about the poor woman having a miscarriage who doesn't want to SEE your baby. Think about the woman with cancer. Think about the woman who is being abused. Sorry mothers out there - get a sitter. A women's health center can be a sensitive place. I had a number of other issues and warning flags, but I do not want to hurt a business many other people seem to like with opinions - I just wanted to share the bit on kids for those who expect a professional clinical experience, not a visit to the pediatrician's office. read more

This is the most disorganized doctor office I have ever been to. The doctor, who was more than 30 min late, was OK. Except she forgot to send a prescription to the pharmacy. Then she did, but it was not refillable so I had to contact the office again to adjust the prescription to have refills. When I asked for a doctor referral I was given a referral for a procedure I did not asked for, so the referral had to be redone. When a prescription had to be changed it took more than 2 weeks to have two questions answered about the new med, all through the patient portal. I guess nobody had 2 minutes to resolve the whole thing over the phone or suggested a follow up visit. I don't know if this is a Mickey Mouse office or they are taking up more patients they can handle, but either way it's not cool. read more

She has given me the best advice for an ongoing condition I have, all the while sharing her compassion and knowledge in a kind and most caring way. Everyone I've met at PWC is professional and courteous. Once you walk in the receptionist are friendly and welcoming. When I call to get in for an urgent appointment I was able to be seen the next day and sometimes the same day. I first saw Dr. Betterton as my gynecologist for the last few years. She's very thorough and has great bedside manners. I appreciate that she goes over all the information and listened to my concerns. Naturally when I started trying to conceive I was very disappointed that she no longer delivers babies . I scheduled with Dr. Beyerlein to be my OB for my first pregnancy. The first appointment was a meet and greet. I really appreciated him taking 30+ mins to listen to my concerns. Throughout my entire pregnancy, he was very sweet and informative and always set time aside for me to ask questions or to review any concerns. When I was scheduled to be induced, he was thorough about the process. I ended up needing abc section. I appreciate how he explained why it was necessary and he did it in a way that made me feel like I had a choice. The surgery went well and I was happy to have Dr. Beyerlein check in on me everyday in the hospital. Thank you everyone at Pacific Womens center read more

I would absolutely give negative stars if I could. Dr. Betterton did the most bare-minimum job during my visit last week. For starters, I had already gotten imaging done a few weeks prior to my appointment at this center. The radiologists at that imaging center found a cyst on one of my ovaries. Due to the fact that my mother died from ovarian cancer and also had ovarian cysts before diagnosis, Dr. Betterton's total lack of care could be detrimental; not just to my health, but so many other people's. I've been on a journey over the last year to get answers for my chronic pelvic pain and bloating, and when I came here I was sincerely hoping that I would get compassionate care. Instead, I was talked down to about my results (apparently there wasn't a cyst on the imaging there, or evidence of my endometriosis diagnosis), and was given two options only: it's either a bacterial infection causing all of this that I'm experiencing, or I need to switch birth controls. After finding an infection, I started taking some anti-bacterial pills this week. I'm still experiencing the same pelvic pains on the left and right sides of my uterus, and I'm still bloated. So, I started the process of getting in at OHSU to see a real specialist instead of ever trying to go back to this center. I was told by Dr. Betterton that cysts come and go sometimes, but there was no concern in her voice or her face, given my family history and the amount of time I've been in discomfort. I've never had cysts before, how the hell does anyone know when they'll appear and disappear? Is this not a concerning anomaly? Because as far as I know, ovarian cysts can actually, and should be, quite concerning. And since that day she didn't find clues to endometriosis or cysts, she told me that my insurance wouldn't cover a laparoscopic surgery to find out for sure what's really going on. I'm sure there are better doctors at this facility, but by all means, avoid Dr. Betterton! No bedside manner, no compassion, seems like she's only there for a paycheck. I came here to get help, and instead I left in tears because the bare-minimum was more important than my health or my discomfort. read more

Being pregnant, I've heard horror stories about other women's OBs. Actually, I've had a couple terrible experiences at previous ones myself. I'm happy to say that I haven't had a bad experience here. I've seen Dr. Beller and Dr. Betterton and have had 2 ultrasounds. I've checked in with the receptionists, had communication via email and phone with the nurses, and I've talked with scheduling. Every department of the practice has been pleasant to talk to. I haven't had to wait a crazy amount of time in the lobby to be seen for my appointments. Dr. Edwards dismissed me as a patient because I refused to wait over 40 minutes in the waiting room during the coronavirus pandemic and left. But has since changed policies and makes patients wait in their car so they won't get exposed? Hmmmm. I will happily take my business elsewhere. Dr. Edwards showed her character. I would NEVER want a person like this to be my doctor. Thank you Pacific Women's Center you made the decision for me to leave an easy one!! My experience with this office has been unendingly negative. I was initially scheduled for an appointment a month out, nbd. The day before my appointment I was contacted and told that I would have to reschedule another month out because the doctor I was scheduled with had emergency surgery. Annoying and poor scheduling plan (if your doctors can cancel for emergency surgery then there should be an option to be seen sooner than making an entirely new appointment. In this case my birth control would have run out prior to the new appointment). From there it only got worse, ultimately ending with my dismissal as a patient when I insisted on being treated while experiencing massive emotional distress and mood swings as a side effect of birth control I was placed on. As the final straw I called to pay my bill, was told they could not take my credit card, spent over 30 minutes on the phone where the only possible option I was given was to take a cash advance on said credit card and told repeatedly that these are 'personal financial decisions'. While on this call was told my bill would not yet be sent to collections, despite this my bill was sent to collections the next day and the notice to my house came the same day I wrote a check and put it in the mail after being paid. Now since the bill has been sent to collections it is accruing interest and the payment I made based on being told my bill was not being sent to collections is now insufficient and I will need to somehow make an additional payment. I cannot recommend going literally anywhere else more. Their doctors may be capable of medical diagnoses but lack even moderate compassion in their care, scheduling, and business model. read more

Dr. Edwards was my OB during my pregnancy and birth in 2019. During my c section I was not properly anesthetized and I could feel the entire thing. I was crying in pain from the first cut to the very end. Dr. Edwards ignored me the entire time and did not stop or try to help me. She never explained or apologized and I literally can't even think about my daughters birth without breaking down. I hope no one else ever has to go through what she did to me. It was like a horror movie, I thought I was going to die. I may add more to this review eventually but this is all I can manage right now. I think about it daily. read more

I called to set up my Annual apt which was going to be 2 months out. No prob. The problem was ,I asked the scheduler to ask my Doctor if she could let me know if there was anything I could buy over the counter for hot flashes because I didn't want to wait the 2 months to ask at my Annual exam, The Scheduler called me back and said the Doc said you could try this product but there is no proof it works and if you need to ask questions about menopause you will need to make a separate apt from your annual. WHAT? If I had even ONE question it is not allowed to be asked at the annual exam? Wow, what a way to bill MORE money! I called 3 other establishments in town and NOT ONE said they would have a separate apt for those questions. Needless to say, I called back and canceled my exam and am going to Woman's Care who does NOT care to bilk the insurance companies! read more

This review is about Pacific Women's Center as a whole. I will keep it short and to the point. The receptionists are quite nice overall. Seating area is comfortable as waiting rooms go and the wait is always pretty short unless you have a double appointment. That being said, the nurse, the doctor and the ultrasound technician were all very unprofessional and did not communicate amongst each other well. I was constantly correcting them on info during the appointments and when I finally did switch to a different ob\gyn, incorrect medical notes were given from Pacific Women's Center to my new doctor. Based on my experience with this facility, I would not recommend their services to anyone. read more

I was referred to Dr. Sohee Williams by my PCP. After 2 appointments with her, I won't return. She won't let you explain your concerns, and bulldozes over you with her newly acquired textbook knowledge. It feels like she has something to prove, so she spouts off information that's not really relevant. Also, as many MDs do, she tries to push hormonal BC, even after I explained multiple times that I'm not interested. All in all, a stressful and frustrating experience. Find a Dr who will listen to you. (Also worth noting that the lab tech was REALLY rude when doing an ultrasound. That didn't help.) read more

Dr. Byrke Beller is so incredibly amazing and has the patience of a saint! He's so good I didn't want to write a review while I still lived in Eugene for fear he'd be overbooked. I've never worked with a doctor that was so empathetic and understanding of my needle phobia. He personally called me to let me know he had researched some things I suggested and was up for giving them a try, what doctor does that?! He gave me hope, worked with me and I can't thank him enough for making a horrible health situation so much better! I'm yet to find a new OB/GYN in Seattle and seriously considering driving down just to see him, he's that good! read more

I had a terrible experience here. Dr. Betterton was my doctor & she referred me to Dr. Williams for a surgical procedure 1 month before I was suppose to move out of Eugene. From that point on came a slew of misinformation & miscommunication: the 2 doctors telling me different things about the procedure, the nurses & Dr. Williams telling me different things about scheduling than the scheduler was telling me, the scheduler making an appointment "for the surgery" that ended up being a 2nd consult & not the actual surgery after all. So, a lot of stress, an unnecessary appointment, & one massive panic attack later - I now get to wait a couple more months to do the surgery until my new insurance kicks in & I can find a new doctor. Oh we'll, it's probably for the better. read more

I've had fine lady-part doctors and mediocre doctors and awful doctors, but I didn't realize this until I came to see Dr. Williams. A friend recommended her to me, and I'm so glad she did. Dr. Williams is just great. At my initial appointment Dr. Williams asked lots of questions and also let me talk--something I haven't experienced much with doctors. While I haven't gone through something like a pregnancy (thank god), I did have an issue with multiple positive HPV tests, which lead to a colposcopy (with biopsy) and a LEEP. Which--if you've ever had these procedures done you know--kind of really suck. And can hurt. Like A LOT. (As I experienced with a former doctor in the past.) But Dr. Williams made sure I was comfortable and had no pain with either procedure. This is probably TMI, so I apologize. But, but ladies, get your paps done! read more

I had Dr. Gerhards for my second baby's pregnancy and delivery. All was well up until my recovery... in the hospital I received a UTI and infection in my c section incision that was never addressed. It wasn't until I was home for 2 days trying to recover with a newborn and 1 1/2 year old not being able to move from pain and shaking cold with a 104 degree fever. I had to go into the emergency room to figure out what was wrong with me. After 12 weeks of blood and pus coming out of my incision I asked for a different OB... Gerhards then got an attitude with me, sent me home without a proper post partum check up and fired me from the practice while my incision was still open. I'm posting this so other mama's to be are aware. It was very traumatic to me and now have a very hard time trusting doctors. I urge you to see someone different. read more

I'm a long time patient of Dr. Jan Stafl, he listens and works with you so you can make the best decisions for your health. He was also instrumental in helping to diagnose a thyroid issue and found I also had Hashimoto's disease. He helped diagnose that I had sluggish adrenals as well. This guy really does pay attention to symptoms and understands 1 size does not fit all. He's a great holistic doctor, I highly recommend him. Through the years I have also seen Dr. Beyerlain when Dr. Stafl has been unavailable or I just wanted a second opinion. He's a sensitive, caring doctor and listens to his patients and will go out of his way to help in any way he can. I highly recommend him as well. I did see Dr. Gillian Betterton once while I was going through a hormonal time and Dr. Stafl was on vacation. She was easy to talk to, listened carefully and fixed the issue. I don't normally like female GYN's but she was pretty good, definitely got my sense of humor about going through menopause too. read more

I love Dr. Beyerlein. He has helped us bring 2 healthy daughters into the world after 2 miscarriages and trouble conceiving. He is sensitive, informative, humorous and knows how to handle my anxiety :) I love how he has a research company right upstairs and stays on top of the latest medical news. He also has a very low c-section rate (I believe it was less than 5% when I interviewed him in 2010) and is supportive of a natural birth plan as well as having a doula in the delivery room for support. read more

I was referred by a friend who is a labor and delivery nurse at Riverbend and she recommended Dr. Sohee Williams. This is my second pregnancy and I knew more what to look for regarding prenatal care this time around. My first pregnancy was at Women's Care and I knew I wanted and deserved a better experience with my second pregnancy. I was very pleased to hear that the doctors at Pacific Womens Center try their hardest to delivery their patients babies. Womens care does not tell you that you just get whichever Dr is on call that day. I was pleasantly surprised that at my 10 week visit Dr. Williams did an in-room ultrasound. I wanted nothing more than to see our little bean and confirm a viable pregnancy. We were even able to do an early blood screen and find the gender of our baby out! Dr. Williams never seems rushed even after a long day and is always there to answer any questions I have. She has a very calming personality and is easy to relate to. Her nurse is wonderful and the receptionists have been great as well. I would highly recommend anyone that is wanting top notch care during their pregnancy to see Dr. Sohee Williams! read more

I saw Dr. Williams for the first time this fall and she delivered my baby this spring. Pacific Women's Center is hands-down the best Ob/Gyn office I've experienced. Dr. Williams and the entire staff always made me feel so well taken care of and totally comfortable voicing any of my concerns or questions. The longest I ever had to wait for any of my appointments was 10 minutes. They offer free birthing and lactation classes for their patients, which I also recommend.
