The most dismissive sexist Dr. I have been unable to get in elsewhere and have been stuck with him for years. The only time he has ever actually listened to me was when my husband was in the room. There have been several times I went to him, he dismissed me, and I was in the ER the next morning where ER Dr's were astounded that I was sent away. I was on an SSRI during pregnancy and he told me, 8 months pregnant that I was a "horrible mother" for my choice. I was trying to work with him to have a plan in place for postpartum depression. Left me without controlled medication when I was already out, to only call a half script in when I asked for it to be documented that he was doing such. I beg people, if you are ACTUALLY sick; go to anyone else! Men are probably fine to see Yeh. I believe wholeheartedly he is a smart man and should be working only in a hospital setting where there's no bedside manner needed. The nurses in the back of the Santa Clara location are almost just as bad, horrible attitudes all of the time. There was ONE MA, Stephanie that would call you out if needed but had compassion and empathy. The front desk staff are all very kind and always do the extra mile without hesitation. I am not inherently a negative person, I hate sounding so mean. But it has been a source of a lot of anxiety anytime I have had to be seen. I want other women to know this man does not care, too many patients too little time. read more

This provider was my Mother's PCP and treated her in such a disrespectful way. He dismissed her complaints and would not look deep enough into what was going on. They basically butted heads and were not a good fit. By the time she was able to find another PCP who would listen to her, that PCP said well lets get an Xray, finding she had Lung Cancer and then on to an MRI, finding she also had brain cancer, but it was to late and she passed away 8 weeks later. I was so blown away, he just kept telling her there's nothing wrong with you, you're just getting older and will have these complaints. My Daughter who has Autism, also saw him for a time and the communication, was ridiculous. He didn't get her and she didn't get him. I finally was able to get her another PCP as well and move on. He's rude and dismissive. He would get very irritated if he had to go the extra mile to diagnose, which would possibly saved my Mother's life. Disgusting. read more

Dr. Gilchrist has a profoundly sane approach to patient care including empathy, humor and access. I am able to reach my doctor any time, and receive a response almost immediately. He is available via text always and is also quite easy to schedule with. I have never (never!) had to wait to see him. Beyond being very knowledgeable, easy to talk with and amazingly kind, Dr. Gilchrist also provides a level of care that is incredible. He has dropped off prescriptions for me, been proactive with insurance issues and worked diligently to find me other providers, such as physical therapy, who are equally good. Concierge care may require new thinking at first. Paying a subscription rate on top of insurance can seem prohibitive, but when given the level of care and contact, it's actually quite a bargain. Dr. Gilchrist has seen me several times a month, as well as offered referrals, text consults and encouragement, all within my monthly cost. No copay, no additional fees, and of course all services that he refers too work with insurance as usual. It's an easy win- and genuinely adds to my health and well being to be part of his concierge practice. I would encourage anyone to get in and see Dr. Gilchrist! He's the absolute best!

Went in for Medicare free annual wellness visit in December 2015. Everything was okay until early…read more2017 when I got a bill from Peace Health for the $358. Medicare paid nothing. Called Peace Health Patient Financial Services several times attempting to straighten it out. Each time they said they would do something, but they never did. Instead they sent a new copy of the bill about a month later. The last time I talked to them they said to call Medicare. I did and Medicare said that Dr. Laurie's office had coded the purpose of the visit wrong. I called Peace Health and told them what Medicare said. Peace Health said they would talk to Medicare. They didn't and instead sent me another copy of the bill. Out of frustration I called Dr. Laurie's office direct and asked for their help straightening it out. They said that although they had coded the visit wrong there was nothing they could do about it and that I would have to talk to Peace Health. I asked to talk to the supervisor at Dr. Laurie's office and was put on hold and then disconnected. What a nightmare! I paid my medical insurance premiums, saw the doctor for a covered visit, the doctor or others at his office coded it wrong and then Medicare refused to pay the bill because it was coded wrong and Peace Health won't do anything but continue to send me bills. Never, Never, NEVER trust this doctor/office!

I waited over an HOUR AND A HALF past my appointment time to be seen for my FIRST appointment with a new primary doctor after over a year of not having one. I was stuck on waiting lists and unable to get my medications. They didn't even greet me when they walked me back. The doctor didn't ask or seem to care about anything besides refilling my ADHD medication. I waited an hour and a half for a 10 minute appointment. Then they sent the wrong instructions to the pharmacy and the pharmacy couldn't refill my medication. I tried calling this office but you can't even leave them a voicemail and they're closed on weekends. During the week expect to sit on hold for at LEAST 20 minutes. They never respond through the patient portal either. The lack of communication and care is extremely frustrating. I'm leaving this review now because once again the pharmacy cannot refill a different medication for me that I urgently need because they have sent MULTIPLE requests for a refill (it should be on auto refill so I'm not sure what the issue is) and have gotten ZERO response from these people. I can't even refill it through their portal. So here I am a day before I need my medication and unable to get ahold of anyone here and unsure as to why they have not responded to the pharmacy. I will be switching providers as soon as I am able to because this place genuinely SUCKS. Would not recommend to anyone.

AND THE WORST 'HEALTHCARE' AS WELL-though I'm hesitant to even call it that. I did not at all feel like Jan cared about my *personal* needs. She was warm and friendly enough until I asked her to order some tests that I wanted, or to think outside of her narrow thoughts. I was only asking for a comprehensive thyroid panel-we aren't talking expensive hypochondriac things. When I told her that a topical medication she prescribed was causing dryness and irritation, she dismissed my concerns and told me to keep using it. I took my son to see Dr. Copperman for a specific concern and he told my son that his issues were his own fault. His blaming alienated me, shamed my son and did NOTHING to address the concern we came in for. I have NEVER been treated this way before by anyone. His care was so terrible that I sat in the car crying from anger. I asked for a referral for my son, and was handed a list of providers and told they would send over a referral. When I called to follow-up, the referral told me they weren't accepting new patients. I called the clinic back but no one was available to help me. 3 days later they returned my multiples calls and said they'd send it through to another. That one ALSO was not accepting new patients. And then it happened a third time. Finally, I started calling around and then asked the new clinic to call for a referral and it took a week to receive it! As if that wasn't enough, the front office told me that I did not need to make a co-pay for a visit. I told them, are you sure? I usually do. They told me no, and refused to take any payment. When I was then billed for it, I called to find out why and was placed on hold, or hung up on, and never got an answer. When I went in for the next appointment, they told me at the appointment that I had to pay a $100 deposit to be seen since I was delinquent on my bills. DELINQUENT. It was a $20 co-pay. I was there for an appointment and had no other choice if I wanted my son to be seen.

Worst experience ever! Turned away on the morning of my procedure because I 'had to' use a…read moredifferent taxi service to take me home afterwards. Their recommended transport services were not available, so the office staff would not allow me to be seen, even though my taxi driver had first aid training. The office manager kept saying that I should have called to schedule one of their cabs earlier? 2 weeks isn't enough? If I can get myself there, I can get myself home, regardless of what taxi I take. Why are they releasing patients at all, if the patient is still incapacitated from sedation? I was without food or sleep for 3 days prior to this procedure, and was not in any condition for this manager to be chastising me on what cab I used! She ended up frustrated, and kept saying 'Do you want to reschedule?' Obviously she has never experienced a colonoscopy, and No, I did not want to reschedule. I had been in there twice before, once for a C/O and once for a gastric surgery to prevent a cancer from growing. That surgery went bad and I ended up in the hospital for 6 days. So Yes, I'd been there before. No, I've had enough of OEC, and frankly, I'd rather get cancer than go there again!

Tho she knew she couldnt make me take coumadin she did her darndest in a tolerable way to make sure I at a minimum took that even tho she would of preferred the coumadin..I really dont wanna share my doctor but it would be self centered of me if I didnt...Thank u Dr. Gilliland u really are great! Take a bow...What has it been 30 plus years now? Dont tell anybody but I'm not the easiest patient to deal with...

The type of care I received last week from Dr. Magda Dissanayake, aka "Dr. D" was awful. I have…read moreseveral life threatening illnesses, & am caught in the midst of new doctors and/or many attitude/negative changes to practices. Dr. D not only blamed me for my illnesses, that are inherited & very serious, he asked me where my neuropathy pain was. I briefly pointed to the 2 spots in my legs, then Dr. told me to "quit complaining". I came to him per my insurance company's suggestion because of the severity of my medical issues at 68 years old, also to ask him for a scan on my stomach/rectal area that had malignancy taken out about 2 years ago, that is painful 24/7 & has bled intermittently after the malignancy was taken out. He refused any scans, because he himself didn't diagnose it, also he hadn't read any of the 62 pages of medical records I brought in at 1st visit last week, from Lane County for the last 19 years. I asked him to please, per my insurance company's Case Management's request, send a referral to Palliative Care that I do qualify for. He refused that, too. My impression is that he wanted to start from scratch to make his own evaluation. If I wasn't so sick with internal bleeding issues, consistent stomach pains, alleged IBS/Crohns Disease (suggested by a specialist/provider last year), I would have been agreeable to Dr. D's requests, though partially, because I've had severe problems with stools (constipation), requiring hospitalization, since I was 8 years old, also possibly inherited. Dr. D said that my 2.5 years of low dose pain meds for Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy, Osteoarthritis, etc.,etc., is the cause of my constipation. Again, he didn't read a thing about my past medical history the 19 years here in OR + other state I lived. This has been going on for 29 years. I don't mean only bathroom difficulties/issues, but severe & life threatening medical issues. I was put on SSDI in '97. To top this, he didn't continue my pain meds, so I'm cut off cold turkey. I felt as if I had to pull teeth for my heart meds, also he didn't prescribe me my Pro-Air asthma/COPD inhaler. His medical assistant also neglected to log in my very high systolic blood pressure reading because she intimated that "I have too many issues to put in necessary info". This girl had a bad attitude from the start, maybe due to having a bad day. Please note: I was refused any/all referrals, whether to Digestive or pain management. Dr. D said that he's an Internist & doesn't refer, also he said he doesn't specialize in Digestive issues (that's why I needed the referrals). I fired Dr. "D" the next day & have to wait a couple weeks to see a new Primary Care Dr. Time is of essence. I am scared. I hurt. The pain everywhere is unbearable, & I just want help from a doctor/specialist. I don't want to die like this. Staff in reception....awesome! Kim was so helpful, & the 2 other ladies went out of their way to help me log in my pages full of info on their tablet. I was very impressed, also grateful for them! I've been instructed by our state Senator, to contact Senior/Disabled Advocacy, because our senator is not happy with this issue & others from me/other patients. He wants to be apprised of what the State Advocacy says & does as far as my grievances, & I am to keep contact with the Senator. This, he said, is unacceptable! I will call/contact State Advocacy tomorrow, Monday. I wished it had worked out with Dr. "D".
