This was so uncomfortable! Well, the practice itself, Oak St. Medical, + all their affiliates, says it all. No, I'd run the other way as a new patient. I did!

Dr. Gilchrist has a profoundly sane approach to patient care including empathy, humor and access. I am able to reach my doctor any time, and receive a response almost immediately. He is available via text always and is also quite easy to schedule with. I have never (never!) had to wait to see him. Beyond being very knowledgeable, easy to talk with and amazingly kind, Dr. Gilchrist also provides a level of care that is incredible. He has dropped off prescriptions for me, been proactive with insurance issues and worked diligently to find me other providers, such as physical therapy, who are equally good. Concierge care may require new thinking at first. Paying a subscription rate on top of insurance can seem prohibitive, but when given the level of care and contact, it's actually quite a bargain. Dr. Gilchrist has seen me several times a month, as well as offered referrals, text consults and encouragement, all within my monthly cost. No copay, no additional fees, and of course all services that he refers too work with insurance as usual. It's an easy win- and genuinely adds to my health and well being to be part of his concierge practice. I would encourage anyone to get in and see Dr. Gilchrist! He's the absolute best!

**ASK YOUR PCP FOR A REFERRAL ELSEWHERE**…read more Our experience has been a shit show at every turn. It's scary when your child could have cancer and you have to help facilitate the entire medical process. They're disorganized, extremely slow and lack good partner communication. 1- I had to call them 2 weeks after my PCP made a referral to schedule a new patient appointment with their podiatrist. They use a 3rd party company that is really slow at processing new referrals. 2- We show up early for an MRI and they tell me "I canceled it" and after threatening to file a complaint they tell me their MRI machine #3 was down and they rescheduled it without speaking to me but left me a voicemail I never received... 3- OMG's podiatrist made a referral to a bone tumor surgeon that never went through and 22 days later I had to ask the bone surgeon to please reach out to OMG and ask for a referral (not normal)

If you use prescribed pain meds they treat you like a junkie. Each new one asks the same questions (info on record) then make the same suggestions which I have tried every few years and they don't work. If you say that, they really treat you like a junkie. But if such pill gave me a side effect the first, second, third time I know it will do it again and it will happen again. DUH! They act like snobs, worse than the doctors, wielding their little power. At check-in I never get seen because I am short. There are at least five windows but you are lucky one is at the window and is usually playing something on the computer ( walked behind them twice and seen solitaire, another slots). Want fast attention? Talk really LOUD or put on a mask and cough. Been with OMG for 31 years but am looking at Oak Street. Oh and if you call, be prepared to be on hold for at least 10-15 minutes and even over 30-45 minutes. Money is king here and who cares about people. Oh, and OMG has no OB/GYN, no Urologists, no Gastroenterologists and no Neurologists.

My mom was brought in to the ER by ambulance following a stroke. We weren't sure what was happening…read moreand requested an MRI. It showed that she had in fact had a stroke. She was kept overnight. The next morning Dr Whitsel walked in the room and her first words were "She has dementia!" I questioned how she could diagnose it so quickly and she responded that mom was given a story to read and then asked questions about it and that she had failed the test. I continued asking questions and she said that she had 8 new patients and she would have to look over her notes. I think she should have gone over the notes before she entered the room. She has HORRIBLE bedside manner and does not like to be questioned. I would suggest you request a different doctor if she is looking at your patient.

Decided the moment she saw me that she had issues with me, it was obvious. Popped into my room throughout my week long visit at McKenzie Willamette's Progressive Care Unit (which she is somehow the 'hospitalist' for) to make weird and taunting statements while displaying a poorly disguised grin. After a procedure to save my life, she (the last time I'll assign it any human/animal pronoun) was the first face I saw while coming out from under anesthesia, telling me it was discharging me immediately. My actual cardiologist had told me I would be kept for observation. When I argued with it, it told me it was her wing and it was not going to be argued with. I stayed the night but was rushed out next day even after staff had damaged my prosthetic in the process. Yeah, I'm also an amputee. I would recommend it be stripped of title and prosecuted. It is an absolute monster and it never should have been given license to practice. Still in process of taking legal action. The ER staff were amazing. The majority of nurses on it's wing became increasingly cold and passive aggressively punitive as the week went on, and I have no doubt it was at the urging of Whitsel. F@#k Whitsel.

The staff are caring, competent, and provide strength-oriented patient empowerment. They have helped me through good times and challenging times and put up with me when I was not at my best. I'd leave zero stars if I could. I saw Jan Litz, and my son saw Dr. Copperman…read more THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE RECEIVED ANYWHERE. AND THE WORST 'HEALTHCARE' AS WELL-though I'm hesitant to even call it that. I did not at all feel like Jan cared about my *personal* needs. She was warm and friendly enough until I asked her to order some tests that I wanted, or to think outside of her narrow thoughts. I was only asking for a comprehensive thyroid panel-we aren't talking expensive hypochondriac things. When I told her that a topical medication she prescribed was causing dryness and irritation, she dismissed my concerns and told me to keep using it. I took my son to see Dr. Copperman for a specific concern and he told my son that his issues were his own fault. His blaming alienated me, shamed my son and did NOTHING to address the concern we came in for. I have NEVER been treated this way before by anyone. His care was so terrible that I sat in the car crying from anger. I asked for a referral for my son, and was handed a list of providers and told they would send over a referral. When I called to follow-up, the referral told me they weren't accepting new patients. I called the clinic back but no one was available to help me. 3 days later they returned my multiples calls and said they'd send it through to another. That one ALSO was not accepting new patients. And then it happened a third time. Finally, I started calling around and then asked the new clinic to call for a referral and it took a week to receive it! As if that wasn't enough, the front office told me that I did not need to make a co-pay for a visit. I told them, are you sure? I usually do. They told me no, and refused to take any payment. When I was then billed for it, I called to find out why and was placed on hold, or hung up on, and never got an answer. When I went in for the next appointment, they told me at the appointment that I had to pay a $100 deposit to be seen since I was delinquent on my bills. DELINQUENT. It was a $20 co-pay. I was there for an appointment and had no other choice if I wanted my son to be seen.
